Hi,
I need some assistance, if possible...
Namely, on my TyTN II (Windows Mobile 6.1.) I have installed Manilla 2D. It worked fine, but suddenly it "blocked", meaning I have start screen where is says "tap here to launch TouchFlo", and when I "tap it for few seconds it's written "launching TouchFlo", and that screen returns to previous message "tap here to launch TouchFlo"...
I've tried to reinstall Manilla, does not help.
I've tried to remove the program over Settings -> System -> Remove programs, but it can not be removed like that...it always remains installed.
Is there a way to remove this program?
Thanks in advance
Try this..
go to Start-Settings-Today-Items and see if TouchFLO is checked. If it is, uncheck it , softreset, and try removing again. Soft reset.

Go to start >settings > today > items and uncheck Touch Flo do a soft reset and then remove with remove program.
M2D usually does that when there is a conflict with another app what new apps have you put on your phone recently or were you just trying to put M2D on your phone ?
@azahaidi/denco7
Thanks for advice. Still, did not helped.
I've cheked TF out, went to Rermove Programs and after inital question "Do you want to remove....",and after pressing "yes", I got the message "XDA-Team Manilla 2D" was not completly removed. Do you want ro remove it from the list of installed programs?"...I press "yes" again, but than happens nothing, program is on list of programs in storage memory.
It is not any more in Today -> Items, but on list of programs still exist.
I've try to install some newer version of M2D v21, but I just got the message
"Instalation was unsuccessful. The program or setting can not be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions."
I mean, WTF is now this?

I don't have that tool...
I thought (well, hoped) that there might be a way to make it with current standard programs...

Guys,
I'm not able to remove any programs via activesync from my wizard.
I can see the programs listed in activesync but I can't remove any of the installed programs; it's driving me crazy!
Please help!

That is exactly the problem; how do I remove a program from my PPC?
Because via Activesync doesn't work.....
The program I like to remove is minimo (mozilla for PPC's)
Thanks!
Have the same problem, Windows can not delete programfiles. When i install an update of a program, the setup failed. If i delete files manualy i can install the update. Had the same problem with original rom.

Try....
Start > Settings > System > Remove Programs.
This should do what you are after.
my dear friend thats the problem....by doing any of the above i cannot uninstall any programmes ...it say cant remove programmes but do u delet it from your list of removable progrrames...funny
Same here. Minimo would not uninstall
went to remove prog. it said it did but all it did was remove it from the remove programs list.
Hard reset here we go. Pocket mechanic was the same for me.
It's ok when you exactly know where the program is installed - you should simply delete its files. But how can I upgrade to .NET CF 2.0?
Installer can't remove previous version and I can't delete files manually cause I don't know what files to delete :-(
I've had the same problem trying to remove minimo and the Atomic Cannons Demo. :? So far these are the only items I have tried to uninstall. I just deleted the folders and shortcuts, but I'd rather figure out what's causing the problem!
Running the QTek test ROM (WWE) on a US Tmo MDA.
I also have that. however most of the time it works for me to soft-reset and then remove. for some reason that works (for me)
I would recommend a soft reset just prior to removing software from a WM5 PPC. WM5 only minimises most programs instead of closing them when you click the X so the application stays open therefore files are still in use which prevents a successful removal.
Even if the progam has been closed by Start>Settings>System>Memory>Running Programs or a task manager like in SPB Pocket Plus there is a chance that there are still associated files locked open unless a soft reset is done before uninstall. Windows Applications on the desktop will normally prompt for a restart after uninstall if files were in use however it looks like the majority of Windows Mobile apps (or Windows itself) dont have the same functionality (some Mobile apps do prompt for restart but not very many).
Also, apps with today screen plugins should be disabled, before a soft reset then uninstall the app as WM seems to lock the files open when active on today screen as well.
I havent had the uninstall error once since i have done a soft reset before uninstalling any software, hopefully others will have the same success. I know this wont apply to every situation but so far so good for me.
Cheers
Chris
Puckster is right.Run your task manager to see all runing programs and close them before trying to uninstall or simply soft reset prior to uninstall. It works without a flaw.
This is the second time this happened to me. The first time I remedied the matter with a hard reset.
I recently upgraded my ROM to the 2.24 version (thanks by the way). This evening I was installing a number of third party programs on my 8125 when I had one program not install. After that, I lost my activesynce connections (I was still connected but I could no longer sync and all of my contacts, emails, etc. were not showing). Also, I am unable to install (or remove) any .cab files. When I go into my settings > system > remove programs, NO programs show up there. Last night, the programs I had installed were there.
I have soft reset my device and rebooted my computer. Nothing happened. I deleted my device on both my computer and on the 8125 and resynced but nothing happened. The last time this happened I tried the install / unitstall process of Activesync and could never get it working.
I am just sick about this.
Can someone tell me why I can no longer install or remove .cab files and why my programs do not show up in the 'remove programs' screen?
Thanks
Adding to my post...
I should say that I have Activesync 4.2 beta installed. I also note that in the Settings > System > Remove Programs it shows "Total storage memory available: " In other words it shows nothing.

Using WinRAR or a similar application, uncompress the cab you originally installed, look at _setup.xml or the .000 file and delete the registry keys / files specified there. Soft reset for posterity.
Hope this helps!

Hi dude
In SKTools what are your "Installed Programs" settings??
Try to set the options like this:
2) - Do not use Setup.dll -> No (default)
- Allow risky operatios -> Yes
- Forced files and folders deletion -> Yes
- Exclude strings -> windows\.... (default)
than reinstall the Cube, soft-reset, uninstall using SK, soft-reset and look for it in the SK Install app
2) if 1) still doesn't work try to set also the last option:
- Exclude strings -> (nothing, delete all)
than reinstall the Cube, soft-reset, uninstall using SK, soft-reset and look for it.
However, after the whole operation set again the SK Install options to default (or you can allow the "Forced files and folders deletion", like for my usual option), expecially the "Exclude strings" one!!
Let me know!!
Ciao
guys, thanks for help, but none of the methods works, the HTC Biotouch still there, I've had no idea.anyway, still thanks for help.

Ok,concerning SKTools (what version??), did you well follow all my steps above-mentioned??
Than, i can understand that SKTools doesn't work but "Alex" said you how to manually delete it, so what's the problem in this way??
I add that some files could be hidde/system, so you need a 3rd party explorer software, like Resco Explorer, to see and delete!!!
Hope to help you!
Hi all,
I have installed Sprite Archie trial version and decided to uninstall it. However, each time I restart my phone, it keeps saying archieagent.exe not found and one of its components missing etc.. please reinstall.
I have removed it normally, from ADD/REMOVE SOFTWARE within System. I regret now installing this software?
How do I get rid of this error? I tried to go to Registry and remove it from there, but couldn't find the "Run" or "RunOnce" like in windows xp
\windows\startup
there'll be an item in here for it.
thx
thanks, I found the shortcut to the program in there
hi. I have the following "issue". I can not remove from the list of WM some applications. I explain. I uninstalled Alen-software Quick Menu .... I removed the remaining directories ..... I looked in the register and I erased every item left by the software....
SKtools doesn't show the application as present (files to uninstall)...
but if I go on WM settings-system-uninstall applications the software seems installed....
if I click on "remove" it says that program is to be uninstalled , etc. continue?
at "yes" it says "removing Alen-Software quickmenu not complete. Remove from the list of applications installed?
If I click on " yes " it seems to complete the action, but even after soft reset everything remains as before ... the program is not installed ....no key is present in the registry....... but .....
any suggestion?
PS: the same with "Prodson Hologram" ... :-(
Thanx and sorry for my english
hi
im not familiar with this program - but have a look using file explorer and see if you have anything in your programs folder, if nothing there have a look in the windows/strttup folder
thanx for the answer. No, nothing in folder and windows startup
If the only issue is that the program still appears in the Installed Program List and you don't want it to be there(assuming it is uninstalled), you can try the following steps to remove the registry entry corresponding to that program name.
‘AppInstall’ holds the list of installed programs. The exact location of this registry key is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\AppInstall
Find if there is still an entry for the program under AppInstall, and delete.
Soft Reset and see if it works.
there's nothing in that key...... (regarding uninstalled programs)
Whose ROM are you using? I have has similar histories but with different devices.
Regards,
Carty..
ROM is 1.93. But I have found solution: in SK tools is present "Bad/Old Uninstall Info": launch it and resolve!

Hello.
Could you please give me detailed info on how you did this?
I have SK Tools v4.4.6. I changed the main settings from :
Tools --> Settings --> Automation --> Bad/Old Uninstall Info
to 'Use in Auto Mode'.
But when I perform a CleanUp, the invalid entry is not displayed, nor it does in the Uninstall List.
Is that what you did and made it work or something else?
Thanx!
