look for a program called WinCE Cab Manager it will do the trick

I think wince cab manager costs like a hundred bucks; at least it did the last time I looked it up. Look up Quickcab 2.0; it's free and easy to use. Adding reg keys is a bit tough, though, especially if there is a bunch of hex code. You might look to sk tools to make the cab if you have a bunch of reg entries. What you do is create a cab file with Quickcab that inserts all the necessary files. Run it on your device, then open SK Tools and go to the 'Installed Programs' tool. Long press on your cab, and then select 'Make Cab.' When the cab page comes up, you can then add as many reg entries to the cab from your device as you want. It's really simple to do. Then select 'create cab' and you're done. You have to pay for sk tools if you don't already have it, obviously, but it's only 16 bucks and will be more useful to you in the long run I suspect than blowing 100 bucks on Wince Cab Manager.

WinCE Cab Manager is what you need. Otherwise, you can do it by hand using Visual Studio 2005 or EVC (which is free).

HTC TrayApp

I've riped this utility from T-Mobile AKU3.3 ROM, and packed it in a cab file. Installation will delete Init_Tray.lnk from \Windows\startup and put TrayApp.lnk insted, copy TrayApp.exe to \Windows and create sample registry walues. Soft-reset to apply changes. Go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\TrayApplet and customize it the way you like (add/remove items). Enjoy
What does that do,
i mean what can we customise it.

Well if you have any of the good rom, you already have this working so not really much use!
batterystatus has this feature implemented into it as well, and it works great. Setting up the tray is the easiest out of the other apps like PHM Launchtray.

black soft keyboard

Some roms come with a grey and black soft keyboard. I've search and found a rainbow of different colors, but no black or grey. Anyone have any idea on where to get them?
resco keyboard pro has a black skin option, so does pocketCM keyboard
Do you mean like these?

ya, exactly like those!

the grey looks awesome with the touch grey that the rest of my device has... thanks for the KB skins that work!!
right on! thanks RemE

Wow, very nice (especially with the one that has the mortscript and the bunch of keyboards). Note that that one does not have the proper certificates so it didn't work for me on my Tilt (but will probably work fine on the Wizard, but I haven't tried it yet). I pulled the certificate registry entries out of the other cabs and inserted them on my Tilt and now it works. So I've attached a zip with the .reg file. To use this,
first extract the .reg file and put it on your phone.
Then use the registry editor in TaskManager (http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm) or PHM's registry editor to import the .reg file.
Then you can install and run the keyboards cab file.
Then go to Start -> Programs and clikc on keyboards and select the skin you want (I like Salt & Pepper which is like a combonation of the two you have images of above).
Then soft reset your phone and it should be working.
I'd fix the cab file to do the registry entry, but I'm not sure how to sign the cab file (default rom secuity gripes since its deals with certificates if the CAB isn't signed).

PLAzmA's Sliding Sound Pack for TYTN II (Kaiser)

** UPDATED **
PLAzmA's Sliding Sound Pack for TYTN II (Kaiser) and windows mobile phones with slide out keyboards
*Note: only use the NUMBERED CAB files to install if you are using a TYTN II Phone or if you have the standard HTC Sliding sound system built into your rom. If however on phones like the HTC Wizard where no sliding sound is currently present, install the SlidingSound.cab file, and then launch the program and assign the files manually. The Numbered CAB files will not work for the older phone method.
List Of WAV FILES USED:
0 : Wind Chimes
1 : Piano
2 : Xylophone
3 : Futurama Bender
4 : Might Boosh
5 : Startrek TOS
6 : Dalek
7 : Cash Register
8 : Electricity
9 : Electric Motor
10: Hal 2001
11: POP
METHOD 1: TO INSTALL NEW HTC PHONES LIKE KAISER BY CAB FILES:
This is really easy pick one of the numbered install files from "Kaiser - Modern Phones CAB Install Files.rar", you can either install the complete pack or just one of the sounds, however as it must have a constant number sequence in the registry, its programmed to replace the 3 base sounds in every pack. This is to ensure that the pack works correctly despite possible older mods. This means if you remove a pack it will also take the 3 base sounds with it, however at any time you want to go back run the htc base sounds pack, make sure you first uninstall the previous pack completely and the run the base pack install cab.
*Note: above numbered cab method only for newer phones with htc slide service like the kaiser, DONOT install onto older phones like wizard as this will not work see the next method.
METHOD 2: TO INSTALL BY ADD ON SLIDINGSOUND.CAB METHOD TO OLDER PHONES:
Install cab file and run sliding sound program, turn on slide detect service and assign wav files manually, refer to the list above for the appropriate numbers, there are two files to select from a simple "SlideSound.cab" file which just has a basic pop noise, additional sounds will need to be install manually, or to install the program and sounds all in one go, install the "SlideSound - All Sounds.cab"
*Note: above cab method is only for phones without the htc sliding sounds program built into your rom and only required on older phones like the herms, wizard etc..

Hi:
Thanks for posting this!
Sorry for the dumb question. Do I copy just the wav files to Windows, or the reg files also? If not, where do I need to place the reg files (I want to install all sounds)? I placed the All Sounds file in My Documents, and clicked on it, it opened reg editor, but did not seem to apply changes, as they are still not visible under sliding sounds.
Thanks so much for the help.
when i try to open the all sliding sounds.reg i get the message "The specified file is not a registry script" please advise
To import registry file you need phm reg edit.

Hi Plazma:
I do have PHM Reg Editor.
I copied the all sounds file to my documents, and clicked on it, which did open PHM reg editor, but it didn't seem to make any changes. The sliding sounds are still not visible in settings etc. I have soft reset etc. and I still do not see the new sounds. Should they be visible in the standard sliding sound settings?
Any idea what I could be doing wrong? Do I maybe need to have all the reg files on phone, or is it enough to use all sounds only?
Thanks again!
Check new install

Worked Perfectly!
Thanks so much, I was VERY sick of the piano sound
hi all,
Any chance of uploading it elsewhere other than rapishare or megaupload? Preferably mediafire or yourfilehost? Thanks ya!
Uninstall?
I have uninstalled this after I tried to make it work on my X1 (but failed) using the second option, and I am presented with an error at startup that it could not find slidesound.exe. I have checked the registry and cannot find anything in there. Any ideas??
Thanks
Worked fantastically on my Tilt 2. I love the Dalek one

Anyone know where I can find the registration for these soft in the registry?

I'm trying to use Sashimi auto installer, but I can't find the registration key for these software in the registry... Anyone know a fast way to find them?
- Anton Tomov Pocket Mechanic
- DinarSoft.MemMaid.v2.3.Build.230
- PPCLink HiCalc v2.5.1
- Resco Explorer 2008 v7.05
- Resco.KeyBoard.Pro.v5.01
- Resco Registry Add-in
- z2remote v1.2
Not that important
- Resco Audio Recorder
- Makayama.com Pocket Live TV
- Astraware Solitaire
- Glu Mobile Super Slam Ping Pong
- Hexacto Soccer
I'm not asking for the registry key (that's illegal). I'm asking for the registry of these softs which I've already installed and registered in my device.
The only thing i can think of (and im taking a long shot) is download a registry editor and use it to see if there is a folder with the registration there.
Can you dump the registry, before and after the registration and then compare the Hive using something like Winmerge?
I keep meaning to this my self, but never have time

Some mod Suggested me to do the samething, but I don't quite understand how to do that.
So I have to backup all the REG in 1 reg file, then install my program, then do another Full REG backup and finally compare them?
Isn't it way too much especially the *.reg file is like 0 000001000 021? What do you mean by comparing the Hive? can I just like compare the folder name?

The Hive is just another name for the whole Registry.
If you have two .reg files they should be plain text and easy to read. Find and download WinMerge and just use it to compare the two reg files. The difference is the probably going to be the registration data.

Havent done this for a while, but I used to use SKtracker. Basically it makes a log of your registry. Then apply the registration and run sktracker again. It will then compare the two logs and list everything that has changed.

Is it a good idea if I put all the cab in the CAB folder and the full registry backup file into the REG folder, instead of making 1 reg for each cab?
The only problem I can see here is if I switched to a completely new Rom. So if I make 2 registry backup files for HKLM\software and HKCU\Software, it should do the trick right?
