Is their a way to see whos calling while your phone is in lock screen? When mine is in lock screen and I get a call I just hear the sound then I have to unlock to see whos calling.
sounds like you have some kind of software bug. mine, as well as everyone else i know, shows incoming calls in any state (except being powered off, of course). if you're using a rooted phone, try reflashing your rom. if you're not, try a wipe by booting into recovery mode (turn your phone off, then back on by holding power+home) and when the triangle screen comes up, hit alt+w on your keyboard.
Which rom are you on? I had that problem with Cyangen 3.9. Where I would receive a call and could here my ringtone, but it didnt show the number. I flashed 3.9.1 and its all good.

hey guys sometime when i get and incoming call my phone start acting up and i cant slide up to take the call, my screen wont respond and no hard keys to press if some one know how to fix this please let me know if not im giving this wp7 a 2nd software update a chace to get this right. ms should be a genieus when it comes to software not apple or google. you never know when a emergency call comes in and you could not get it, im so concern about this. i had enough with 6.5 now this. but the problem is that i love ms i keep coming back. ****tttt
if a soft reset doesn't fix it you could hard reset. Just make sure you make a list of installed apps to make sure you get them all back on there.
I hadn't heard of this happening before.
I had the same problem once. I just switched the display off and on again (while the phone was still ringing) and then I could take the call.

+1 this happens from time to time.
hit the POWER button to shut of screen, this just powers of the sound and display and does not efect the incoming call.
Press the POWER button to turn the screen back on where you still see the incoming call and the screen will now respond correctly allowing you to answer.
no need to rest or anything.

My Fiancee's G1 wont turn on at all,No T-mobile slpash screen or nothing.LED lights turn on and Call,Home,Back and Power buttons light up except for the screen itself her phone wasnt rooted,I have never experienced this before.
Can someone please help?
the phone is not turning on via the power(end) button???
try pressing the camera button and keeping it pressed, also press the power button to enter into hboot mode...if u succeed in entering that mode, the phone is fine, or else it could be bricked.
Try Home+Power see if you can get into recovery mode.
If you can wipe cache data.
Hi everyone, hope it's okay to post this here since this Question relates to mine.
I'm having a trouble like this except instead it's like my backlight went out, it was working fine until my alarm on my phone went off and when I went to turn it off I had to take the battery out of my phone because the screen wasn't pulling up. It flashed basically, so when I put the battery in the screen came on but no backlight. Could it be due to Cyanogen? I'm restoring my backup to see what else could I try?
could u be a bit more specific?phone is working??? calls etc???or are u stuck somewhere????
As I said, the screen came on but no backlight. The phone works fine except for the backlight I'm trying to figure out if it's a hardware issue or a software issue. I don't know how much more specific I can get really except that the only way to see the screen is to hold it at a certain angle so the light hits it just right.
Hey guys, I have a SGA S5830C, running 2.3.6
Yesterday I was going to call a contact and, when I touched the contact to select him, the phone has stopped responding. I had to remove the battery to turn it on.
Well, let's try again. Select the contact, started to call and, instead of showing the options screen after press the call button, the screen turned black, showing only the status bar and stopped responding again. Battery off, battery on, phone on again. The same. Tested several times with a friend who works with me.
I stopped using the phone until I go out the work. I went to my gf's house and tested several times again. Same issue all the times.
Reset the phone to factory settings didn't work. All wipe didn't work. Reinstall original rom (Claro BR), didn't work. Install original 2.3.6 w/o carrier customizations didn't work.
I have no idea what to do
Can somebody please help? :highfive:
Edit:
I forgot some information
The call is completed, even if nothing apears on screen, but I can't use the phone until I restart it.
When I recieve calls, I choose to answer the call and the options (end call, keypad, etc) appears. I can hear the person and he/she can hear me, but only they can end the call, cause the phone doesn't respond, freezed on the options' screen.
I can't tell if this issue is with the specific ROM I'm using, or if it's just a Lollipop issue in general. During phone calls, the screen goes black (as it should) when I bring the phone to my ear, but now with Lollipop ROMs, most of the time when I pull the phone away, the screen stays black instead of coming back on. Normally, the screen would illuminate when I pull the phone away, but now it doesn't always work correctly. This is particularly annoying at the end of a call when I would normally touch 'end call', but now I have to wait for the caller on the other end to hang up before the screen comes on. Anybody else notice this?
I'm running gruesomewolf's GPE version 1 and I noticed it. I can usually just press the power button and the screen comes back on though.
A workaround
I also have noticed this problem, and i am 100 positive it is a lollipop problem, nothing wrong with the sensor (otherwise the screen wouldn't turn off when it comes close to your ear) nor the ROM (also present in the stock ROM), One solution i found is to set the power button to end the call, this option can be found in Settings>accessibility.

That's a good idea although if you had to use your phone while on a call to look something up or press the keypad, pressing power to turn on the screen will also hang up the call. But, if you never have that issue, your workaround is :good:
One more solution

You can also enable DoubleTap2Wake by using a custom kernel.
Same problem on TMo m7
Last week I upgraded to Android 5.0.2 on my TMo HTC One m7.
Since then when I remove the device from next to my head during a phone call the screen stays black.
This means I cannot use a keypad to navigate a phone menu or to enter a PIN.
I can tap the power button to re-awaken the screen but it takes several seconds to come back - and sometimes stays dark.
This is a mild nuisance if simply trying to end a call but is a major issue if I'm trying to use an IVR (this device is, after all, a PHONE!)
I have run the HTC Function test on the phone and the P-Sensor test runs fine.
Hi there,
Whenever there is a call, my phone screen will go blank and unless the caller hangs up, I cannot end the call from my end because the screen does not appear. I have to use the power button to make it come out of the dialer app. I have tried using factory reset but that did not work out. Could anyone take the pains to tell me how to resolve this issue?
