Hi all!
Does anyone know if the Rogers Dream will work on a 2100MHz HSPA network?
The Rogers product page says it does:
http://www.rogers.com/web/link/wire...oductType=normal&productId_Detailed=DREAMBLKR
BUT the official HTC page say that it doesn't:
http://www.htc.com/ca/product/rogersdream/specification.html
I should probably trust the HTC page, but I did some googling and some reviews of the phone also say that it supports the 2100 band.
Thanks!

engadget.com says 3G is available in NYC for T-Mobile users. Anyone connected to 3G yet? Supposedly it's only for voice but I still get no 3G icon on top. Anyone else in NYC or anywhere in the states have T-Mobile using the Tilt??
Edge is so damn slow!!! I'm use to my Verizon and their EV-DO data connection!

The tilt doesn't support t-mobiles 3g band.
why not????
Because T-Mobile is using 1700 MHz and 2100 MHz bands for their 3g (and the 2100 is a little off from the 2100 used in Europe...). Our Tilts don't work with those bands. Only with 850, 1900, and 2100 (the European one.)
Please excuse my ignorance
Hey I really am curious as to the image shown on this post of dutty's http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=388947 If you notice the icon clearly shows a 3g connection and the dialer clearly shows 3g t-mobile.
I am NOT claiming that dutty has 3g on t-mobile or that dutty is even trying to claim it exists. ( In fact I am pretty sure that it doesn't since that seems to be the consensis of the more knowlegable people on this forum) (For all I know it could just be an image he threw up there.)
Can someone please enlighten me??? Is it in fact for illustration purposes....lol
HAHA PLEASE IGNORE THIS POST I JUST REALIZED ITS VERY POSSIBLE DUTTY DOESN"T LIVE IN U.S.
SORRY FOR BEING A SELF-CENTERED AMERICAN!!!!
I haven't found any answers so I've decided to "ask the audience".
To my understanding the Rogers Canada network uses 850/1900 for it's 3G primarily 850. Is this true?
I haven't found a mention of a North American release date for the GSM Diamond. Anyone know the date? I don't expect it till around Christmas.
I'm looking at an Australian Diamond that uses the 850/2100 bands for 3G. Will the support of the 850 band be enough to function on the Rogers network or does the phone have to support both bands for 3G to function on the network?
only gsm 850 works on my diamond. i think its 1900 for 3g
I have an European Diamond which works on the rogers network but I get GSM/EDGE but to my horror no 3G
Looking around only on a few sites can I find any mention of what works and what doesn't the closest information I could find is from this link:

NextG phones are 850/2100 capable, so you'll be right on most 3G networks...

and they go back and forth so I'm not sure what to believe and I don't think I want to buy another Diamond just to find it won't work either.
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/Jama/585 has some interesting comments as well but I'm not sure what to believe.
Can anyone confirm or deny and of this?
The question is will a Australian phone with the 850/2100 3G radio function on the Roger network?

I have the Australian version (850/2100 MHz) and it supports the Telstra 3G Network. Can't see why it wouldn't work on other 850/2100 MHz 3G network.
To my understanding the Canadian Rogers network is a 850/1900 network.
Does the phone need to support both bands or will one suffice?
Rogers Diamond
I had an EU/Asia Diam and I never manage to get 3G connection. Sold the phone and bought a Rogers branded diam and by default I see 3G connection all the time on the top network status. But now I'm thinking of going back to an EU/Asia version unless I can flash my Rogers branded diam with a better ROM.
Hey guys i just recently bought a HTC Touch Diamond unlocked US version and was wondering is there a way i can get the 3G to work? i know the T-Mobile's 3G network is still under construction but the new HTC Dream seems to have access to the 3G with T-Mobile. I heard T-mobile uses the 1700mhz and 2100mhz 3G bands, And that Touch Diamond does not support the 1700 mhz band???
The U.S. 3G Diamond will definitely not play nice with T-Mobile's 3G network, and there's really no way around it because of the hardware it has. Sorry. The Dream/G1 was designed specifically for T-Mobile, so it supports T-Mobile's 1700 3G band, natch.
Did HTC ever make a Dream with the GSM (Voice) 850 & 1900 and HSDPA (DATA) 850 & 1900 frequencies.....Maybe for Rogers or Bell of Canada
TIA

Yep. Rogers. I have at&t and it worked perfectly for me.
I have one that I'm thinking about selling now that I have a Samsung Captivate.
Uhmm I cant remember exactly what bands my phone uses but I have an unlocked tmobile (us) phone and it works on at&t just fine. Well that being said I dont have a data plan so I cant comment on that.. I have heard that a rogers g1 can at&t 3G though where as unlocked tmobile phones (ie mine) cannot.. Hope that helps a bit.
EDIT: just realized I totally just said what the guy above me said but with less certainty/technicality... oops
Is it possible to flash TMobile Baseband on to HTC One (brand-less GSM)
In asia, Taiwan, sells the Original HTC One.
Was hoping, I can flash TMO Baseband onto Original HTC One, purchased in Taiwan. Use in USA for 3G and LTE.
Is there a way to make this happen? or are there a Flashable Zip already available, I did not find?
If its a regular HTC one yes you can flash different baseband/radio. You will not however unlock any frequencies.
If you use T-Mobile on an international, developer, or any HTC one not sold by T-Mobile here in the states you will only pick up 3G in areas that have been reformed.

The Asia models are very different than other models and have a different frequency set for which they are designed. I don't think it will ever pick up AWS (which I think is what you want), even if some other models will.

Meaning, in the past like HTC Desire HD, which I had. There are cooked roms, and flash baseband. Unlock frequency to work pretty much any where.
HTC Original from Asia, which no longer possible.
Can you guys tell me, what t-mobile baseband frequency runs on?
Will the below work on TMOBILE?
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100
HSDPA 900 / 2100
4G Network LTE 800 / 1800 / 2600
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure where you got those numbers, but everything except the LTE should work. T-Mobile LTE is 1700. However, having 1700 and 2100 is not the same as having 1700/2100 AWS.
Not sure if this is still relevant but my HTC Dev edition clearly uses tmo 4g downloading over 25 Mbps and upping about the same
