Is there any easier way

do i just flash the rom as normal?
Read the steps at the end of the first post on this thread
You will need the stock ROM from the post you gave (ie http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=444158) and follow the steps in the thread above. You will also need to revert to a stock 1.14 SPL as the final step (also in the thread above)

thats the same problem i had with my orange htc, the power button would turn the phone on but not off, so you maybe ok? does it turn on after the battery is removed? my camera also failed to start, i hadnt flashed that one but tbh, if this breaks i wouldnt care less, ive sent back a few n95's which had been flashed to stock nokia firmwares and nothing was ever said

If you remove battery can you turn device on using power button? If so, you can still flash a rom as you can still enter bootloader
i'm pretty sure i found a small app that puts the HD in the bootloader anyway.
assuming you can switch it on LOL...but if you can do that you can already get there!!
....its in the zip
or if you pull out battery and put it back in with the datacable in itll boot
also remember orange dont check what u have on ur phone i know this as ive asked them and ive never flashed back to there rom before sending

So, you've decided that your shiny new toy isn't very well setup by default. You flashed a ROM and lo and behold, you missed some instruction somewhere and now you think it's bricked.
Here's the good news:
It's not bricked!!
Bricked means that it's dead and it's in no way or shape recoverable.
There is still a chance. (As long as you didn't try to hardSPL with another Device's SPL...)
All you have to do is:
For the WING:
Hold the Camera button and WHILE holding it, soft reset the device (that means press the little hole above the memory card with the stylus.) That will bring you to the bootloader. Now download the appropiate RUU and run that program. A few minutes later and your new shiny toy is back to it's crappy OEM but working self!
I'll put in links for those who can't find them...
Here's tmobile's ROM.
WOW! That´s all??
Ok - then provide us a link to a XDA Terra RUU!!!!!!
hahahaha. Thanks for this help. Maby for some people it is usefull - but written 1000 times before.

I used the hardSPL from this thread..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358225
It worked successfully and I was able to restart into WM6. Then I tried loading the TouchIT 4.4 and it installed cleanly with no errors. But when I went to restart it, my Wing just sits there at the CanonYang boot screen and never changes.
I tried using the steps here to restore the tmo default rom, but it after 1% on the progress bar, the screen goes blank and the CanonYang screen comes back. Is there anything I can do?
edit: I can get to the bootloader screen with the color bars. I'm not sure if this additional info will be of any help.

SPL 4.70.yang!!! your device is HARD-SPL!!
So going back to stockrom--> delete the SPL.nbh from EVERY RUU you are running.
Then it shouldn´t stop......
Big Thanks papa! That did the trick. My Wing is happy once again and running Open Touch. But I still want to give TouchIt another try.
And what if i cant find stock RUU mine came with some arabic keyboard and spl was 1.08 , thanks to Oli he didnt mention that SPL should be 4 or higher , so device is bricked since first Olis release and no way to find this arabic stock RUU.
Any Help ?????
Hitec
If the device had an spl of 1.08 prior to HardSPLing it, then you'll have to bring the device to your nearest repair center. There isn't a way around that. Oli doesn't know everything and that's the risk we take when we try new and experimental things that people create but have no way of testing. But, we live and learn. If it wasn't for that issue, you could always cook your own ROM and if the HardSPL was working, you could've easily flashed any ROM. But the keyboard wouldn't been wrong until you could find someone who had the correct keyboard and you extracted the ROM from it and cooked that keyboard driver into your ROM.
Oh noooo!!
Hi ivanmmj,
I used your guide to flashing my HTC P4350 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358615.
It was in French and I wanted it in English. So I downloaded one of the official HTC ROMs "HTC_P4350_WWE_4.17.405.2_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.exe" assuming this was the English one because all the others couldn't have been.
I copied the "RUU_signed.nbh" from the above HTC ROM and put it into the RUU folder as instructed by yourguide (I didn't copy the SPL.nbh file). I then ran the herald-uspl.exe and everything went fine until the RUU utility stopped with the error "invalid vender ID".
The RUU exited without completing, now all I get when the device boots is the screen giving my IPL (1.08.001) and SPL (1.08.001). How do I flash another ROM from this state? I can't do it the "normal" way because ActiveSync can't see the device. When I try to use the RUU tool that comes with your tool, the progress bar shows then it says the tool can't be used with my device.
Someone please help!

Oh wow. I'm so sorry. I think I may have forgotten to put up a warning for people that have an SPL lower than 4.0. Was your SPL lower than 4.0? If it was, you cannot use the USPL OR the HardSPL and they end up writing part of the ROM over your current SPL and brick the device. This, unfortunately, needs to be fixed by your local repair center. I'll talk to the Mods about unlocking that thread so that I can update it.

Hello everyone,

Now its stuck on the pitcure with the open box pointing a yellow arrow on the phone right next to it(the update screen), what do I do??? Thanks for your help.
You dont even have root then...If it shows what i think your taking about....You should follow this simple enough my little brother(7yr) could master it:

Ahh you might brick, you seem to have flashed the Radio made for HTC hero not G1....Notice the title: "How to get Android 2.1 on HTC Hero"
To use Hero 2.1 on G1 it shows it here @ XDA, you only needed Haykuro SPL and the 26I radio/
If rec mode is working then you arent brick or if you can get into bootloader.
how do i get in rec mode or bootloader
Hold down home when turning on the phone=recovery
Hold down camera button while powering on= bootloader
If you can't get into either one of those, likely bricked. I know with WM devices flashing a radio for another phone is one of the fastest ways to brick your phone, Android seems to be much more forgiving, so hopefully you will be lucky and if recovery and bootloader don't work, you can possibly get ADB to work.
If you don't figure out how to do this BEFORE you do it, you will likely brick your phone, if not sooner, soon enough. Doing it along with a video isn't enough to make sure you won't brick your phone.
Read through the steps of rooting, flashing a basic, stock ROM, do that a time or two, and then get into the more up-to-date stuff.
Your method of going about a new task is going to... well, it isn't going to work, unless you are really, really lucky.
This is my case, the volume button on my xperia stopped working... so is it possible to flash stock rom without using volume down button?? Do u guys think it'll be simple to fix if i open the phone?? - You can flash the stock rom using RUU ROM Update Utility via activesync connected instead of microsd method.
- Flash rom via SEUS doesnt change the hardSPL. But I think the latest SEUS needs stock rom/stock spl installed first, I'm not sure.

Before you do anything else, read this tutorial very carefully.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=625886
Make sure that your phone has the PVT board and not a DVT board.
You can check by going into fastboot and make sure that it reads DREAM PVT 32B ENG S-OFF on the first line.
Then you upgrade the radio first AND THEN you flash the Danger SPL.
Just make sure that you read that tutorial very carefully and know what you are doing or else you might just end up with a paperweight.

Did you check to see if you phone has a PVT board? Did you install the radio first and then install the SPL? If you did it the other way around, then will will have a brick.
Is the phone not powering on after you flash the radio or after you flash the spl?
yes i know the phone has pvt and i checked it and i installed the radio first i did not had the chance to install the spl and after rebooted into recovery i pulled the battery out and after that it did not power on
That's weird because the radio should not have bricked your phone. Since you were able to boot the phone after you flashed the radio, it couldn't have been the radio either. Why did you pull the battery when you were in recovery?
What was your battery level before you flashed? If it ran out during the installation, then you have a brick. Try charging it some and see if it turns on.

Are you sure it was the recovery screen? Did it have all the text options? The radio flashing screen looks similar.. If you pulled it out there, you're bricked.
I am pretty familiar with the guide that you said you followed. I dont remember seeing the part in it that says "pull the battery"...
UPDATE: After this persons unfortunate experience I have updated the guide to actually tell you not to pull the battery at any point during the installation process. I know its common sense but this thread goes to show that unless you tell someone not to do something they may think that its ok.

After you flash the radio it tells you to reboot and it reboots and then finishes installing the radio. Then it reboots to recovery. You must have pulled the battery before the radio finished installing.
I received a G1 from a friend, this isn't actually the first G1 i've rooted. I have one of my own, and I have done about 3 others without any problems what so ever.
I'm not exactly sure what went wrong. I had flashed the recovery, following the cyanogen wiki, and when I got to the flashing the Hard SPL part, i flashed it, (and the radio) and i restarted, and thats it. It just stays at the G1 screen.
No combination of keys work. Home + Power. Camera + Power. Nada.
From most of the threads I've found, I can almost say its a brick, but I just wanted to double check that theres nothing I can do (ADB?).
Thanks!

sent it back to the SP with a story of how during the flash the computer crashed. here's to hoping.
got the phone back after being charged about $25 to repair.
anyway this time i read the instructions properly. left the radio on 3.22.20.17 and then installed the one click root and flashrec apps. I then rooted the phone, download Anon-RA's recovery image with flashrec. I then followed the cyanogen wiki and froyo is now running on it.
