Hello,
I have already moved to Windows 7, which is very stable and much faster then Windows Vista...
There are some problems with the Windows 7 and USPL...
Is there a configuration guide, which explains the procedure, how I can manage the USB connection problems within Windows 7.
Many Thanks
Roman
You need to update the USB drivers.
The following post will explain how. This works for Windows 7 aswell as Vista.

One thing to note, you have to put your phone in bootloader and connect it via USB for it to show the Mobile Device - HTC USB in Device Manager.
One laptop I was on I knew I had to apply the fix on so hadn't tried without updating, and took me forever to find out why I couldn't find the driver to update.
I used a small program called "Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider 1.3b".
Its freeware for using unsigned drivers in Windows 7.
I'm using Windows 7 x64 and USPL works perfect now.
Thanks

Hello,
Had to upgrade my Windows 7 to build 7077 first....!
Then it worked @ 1st try... ;-)
Roman
I have problem with installing driver on Windows 7 64-bit (build 7077). I always get error: This device cannot start (Code 10). Does anyone have solution for it?
I had to get to 7077 as well, i couldnt make it start on 7057 or 7068 either.
I just solved it, but I can't explained how... I tried it again and again.. did some restart of HD and of Windows 7 and finally I was successfull . My tip is to re-connect HD on USB before installation...
I use 7077 x64 and no issues with it whatsoever. I had no issues at all with any build and actually it gets the drivers and Windows Mobile Device Center automatically for me. Check your system drivers like chipset and usb controller for updated versions maybe?
Thanks
Many thanks for the solution that you give to us.
I have been testing every release of Windows 7 since 7000 and as long as you install WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1) and then update the HTC USB Sync driver (put your phone into bootloader and update the driver in device manager with the one from the guide in my signature) you won't have any issues flashing roms. This is for both 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows 7.
Hi All,
I was trying to install Win 7 on my HTC Shift using the USB disk method. The installation goes well until it get to the last step configuring windows or your machine.... then it gives me an error, Installer was unable to configure windows to run on your hardware restart installation.
Any ideas why is that or how it can be resolved?
Thanks
There's the RTM version now available, check for Hash to be sure it's the real deal, and use the same install instructions. I recommed you use Windows Update before drivers, then install what is left because there's some new drivers like Authentec TrueSuite which is only downloadable through manufacturers. All works

I'm running Win 7 RC for a while now on my shift... and everything is fine... I don't know what is the issue you have. maybe you should try to reinstall it and check if you have a correct version of Win 7 RC.
I recently installed windows 8 on my computer.. and to I thought that Samsung drivers are already compatible with it (since normal phone usage like Mass Storage/Kies is working like a charm) but I'm wrong
When I try to recover my phone through download mode.. my computer can't recognize my phone anymore and It also shows a window saying something like Installing driver for Unknown Device for windows 8, but for windows 7 it will say Installing driver for Samsung Android USB Modem and Samsung Android USB Composite Device (two drivers are being installed in windows 7).. so i still need to boot for win7 just to reflash some odin firmwares
**Note msm7x27 driver is also detected as a faulty driver for windows 8 and some other missing drivers that exist in windows 7
So my question is, are there any windows 8 drivers for Samsung already?
Win8 Action Center tends to redirect me into the samsung website to download drivers but the its installer is buggy.. it's installing random drivers which are useless and too hard to uninstall using normal add/remove programs...
just clarifying things out.. so i may just keep a backup of these firmwares incase of trouble

dude u need set your system time to 2012 then u can install it
have you tried the windows phone lite sdk?
If you have problems from any Android 4.0 an higher to connect to Windows XP MTP & PTP in yellow question mark you can download Microsoft User Mode Driver Framework 1.0 and last work 1.9 for Windows XP without Windows Media Player 11 to work Samsung/LG/SONY/Huawei/Xaomi/Nokia/BlackBerry/Motorola. I highly recommened install Windows Media Player 10/11 because some programs like Samsung Kies/Kies 3/SmartSwitch not work at all to update android without PC Windows XP if you not update you phone with your router (PC faster update even Windows XP update connect USB even 2.0 than update connect you Wi-Fi). Also recommened install Visual C++ 2010/2012 to connect some program like HiSuite 10.0.0.510 still work Windows XP. Do you help you?
I recommened also install exFAT for Windows XP.
I am highly thankful to you for giving me a clue for my solution and I connected galaxy grand neo to PC via USB and that phone displayed a message that please install sp3 and windows media player 11 on your PC to get mtp access and I already have sp3 but I found that I have no windows media player 11 in my PC so I thought that user mode driver framework is my solution and it is attached to windows media player 11 so I installed your attached files and also media player 11 and now when I connect my android to PC now I get a dialog saying open in windows explorer or take no action I selected open in windows explorer and my phone opened in explorer and I am now able to access all of its files at last highly thanks
