Tracking swap widget - G1 Apps and Games

I was wondering if there was an app that could track the amount of swap space being used real time. I find myself cking this often when trying to find a right setup with hero roms.
I'm thinking a simple widget that will show available/max would be fantastic. Maybe with a simple notification when it is past certain percentage or something.
If there is something like this I would love to find out how to get it. If there isn't one, maybe someone could use my idea and make one?
Thx

removal of apps

Hi. I am very new to the world of having root access. im running jfrc33 with muti-touch.
what im woundering is if there is a way to delete apps on the phone that come as default like the amazon mp3. it takes up alot of space and i would really really like to learn how to get rid of things like that. im sure there is some one here that has had this idea and knows how. if you could help tha would be great.
thanks
READ THIS there are some apk's you shouldnt mess with. Amazon, IM, Voicedial, email, and maybe some others are safe to get rid of.
thank you for that
in reality how much space does it take? my phone only sasys 300kb, thats not much
Personally, I'd like to get rid of stock apps when I'm using replacements... like k9 instead of messenging, m9mail instead of Mail, snapphoto instead of camera, etc...

How to create a folder in Programs

tried looking but no luck, i just want to put certain apps into one folder like spare parts, settings, etc. is there a way?
as it seems not at the moment, but i want this feature too. how is it possible to install an infinite number of applications but no way to organize the startmenu?
it would be nice....but in the meantime, there is an app in the market called aps organizer. you can assign different apps to different labels (and create your own labels), and then you can put shortcuts to those labels on your homescreen.
That way you get the folders (sort of) on your homescreen and don;t need to use the main menu. I think ive used the main menu about twice in the two weeks i've had it installed.
Given that the market is already split into categories I don't understand why this isn't implemented in the App menu. It IS quite annoying. Also, given that the market already has a categorization couldn't someone develop an app that Auto-sorts the menu. Gnome on Linux does a very good job of this, don't know about KDE...
This is one of my biggest gripes with my Hero. I'm a bit OCD when it comes to organization on my phone and computer. The sooner I can organize the programs more efficiently, the better! I'd really appreciate an app, update or custom ROM that could enable this.
I have folders on my home screen for different apps. but the main programs menu still bugs the hell out of me, especially when it displays things like font packs with the rest of my programs :S

Multitasking ROM

Can somebody recommend me some nice ROM with decent multitasking? I don't care much about speed but I do care about keeping apps running in the background. I can't remember which ROM was my first one when I bought G1 back in January, but I remember multitasking was pretty good. Then I switched to Cyanogen 5 and tried different versions as they were released but all of them had appalling multitasking. I have now installed Complete Eclair and it's not really any better.
Just to clarify what I want to achieve - I want to be able to say open a website, go back to the home screen, open market and be able to switch back to the website exactly as it was when I left it. And then switch back to market and see it exactly as I left it. At the moment it's just not happening, every time I switch to any background application it sort of reloads itself. If your ROM can do this please let me know. Another thing - navigation. As far as I remember I used to be able to press power button to conserve battery and still have voice guidance. Now navigation gets killed as soon as I press power button. Again, if your ROM can do this properly please let me know.
I do need Exchange support so it will have to be at least 2.0 rom I suppose. The only Donut ROMs with Exchange support I have found are Sense ones and these are out of the question because of no BT support.
thanks
Probably not gonna find what you're looking for. Eclair and Froyo ROMs are so RAM intensive that not much room is left for decent multitasking. I'd say to try and use a giant SWAP partition and a modest compcache with whatever your favorite Eclair ROM is. This is gonna be dog slow most of the rest of the time though.
Isnt there an ap for 1.6 that lets you exchange sync im not sure but if there is remix cdvsi < somthin like that 40 mem when not using anythin wich i think is good ?
Turned out the latest Donut Cyanogen has Work Email which is good enough for me. I miss a few Eclair specific things but nothing too serious, so I guess problem solved.

Tablet enhancements for the non-technical

My mother has been looking to get herself a tablet as her study is often occupied by sleeping guests or other assortment of distractions that make it difficult for her to work there. I've been showing her how to use the Nook and she's been okay. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to streamline browsing and emails so she doesn't have to search and get stuck somewhere.

I have a similar scenario. I've found that MIUI is an easier interface for people that need something easy to use... But personally I prefer CM7, so I'm trying Go launcher and just keeping the main apps that are needed on the home screen. I think having Opera as the browser and the standard Gmail app are fairly easy to use though. It would be nice to have a better launcher for tablets though.

[Q] UCCW, the most overestimated program?

Hi,
I would like to ask you something about UCCW.
Browsing around the net I see that right now everyone is using UCCW for themeing; there are some homescreen that are almost done only using UCCW.
Personally I always had problem with that program; hotspot that disappear or do not work always properly (sometimes they rescale and change the location of where they are, sometimes they disappear and stuff like that), loosing of data that then has to be reconfigured and so on.
What I was then wondering is if I was the only one who have this problem because otherwise I will not understand why UCCW is used so much with homescreen that has maybe 15 hotspots where I had problems using just 3/4 of them (not creating the theme by myself but using other people file, mainly taken from http://mycolorscreen.com/ or from xda).
Do you think that it's a problem of my phone/rom and so I shall study better and try to configure it better or this people are reloading the UCCW file every few hours because it gives problem?
the problem occurs only after you resize widget when it's already visible, if you do it when it's just an icon with pointing finger and writes "touch here" under it, hotspots will stay intact
Amazing, that's probably the reason then, going to try it out
Thank you so much for the help
