I have been going through the different roms availible on this forum. And I would like some suggestions. What I would like is a ROM that is as close as possible to the original rom but with som speed tweaks. It should of course include the latest version of opera an all other software integrated. I used Duttys and was quite happy with that one. The problem with it was that it had Voice command pre installed. Since I am swedish that doesn't work for me.
You could always cook your own rom . The kitchen is there.
my rom is chinese officer 1.39.706.1CHS,and i want to flash a english rom ,but i don not know which version is stable, clean, so plz recommend a stable clean rom for me ,thank you .

I'd personally wouldn't flash a Sense 2.5 ROM. I find them too slow.
My personal favorite is Gen.Y's D2 ROM (currently at R5.2). Its regarded over here as one of the most stable roms and I haven't had one crash since I run it (R5 for 3 weeks now)
If you want Sense (aka Manilla 2.5), he also has a Sense ROM: Gen.Y's D2X ROM (Currently at R2)
Try them I'd say.
Also try to flash a new radio, for me 1.17 worked fine (and better than my stock 1.00.07), but 1.13 was a disaster for me (couldn't get data connection). Just try them would be my advise.
thank you !
thanks again,i will try the roms, and i want to know if the radio 1.17 work fine in china, because i am a chinese ,

One thing you should know before flashing is that there is no perfect ROM. Every ROM is different, and suits different users. One ROM might be ultralight and fast, but lacking in features that some users want. Others might be more feature-filled, but also slower and more bloated as a result. One ROM might be very stable, but not terribly fast nor very feature-filled. And another ROM might be a bleeding edge, latest build ROM which is very buggy and unstable, but shows the latest Microsoft advancements. In short, you need to flash all the ROMs that look of interest to you before you can decide what ROM you want to use.
If you install HardSPL on your phone, then that doesn't limit you to "cooked" ROMs, you can also install any official ROM that you want.

Hi Susana
if you have a verizon it´s a CDMA Rhodium, this is your section:

Do not attempt to install a GSM ROM on your device.
And don´t forget to vote
I have been browsing through the forums here for a couple of days, and I see a lot of ROMs for everything from WM6.5 to Google Android. I also see threads about updated radios that I have not read much into yet. Presently I am quite happy with my phone, WM6.1 + SPB 3.5 shell. My Kaiser is as follows:
ROM: 3.57.502.2 WWE (07/17/08)
Radio: 1.65.21.18
So I was just wondering, is there any practical advantage to a new ROM other than having a new interface and/or new software?
Well, cooked ROMs are generally MUCH faster than regular stock ones, and they also have more features or programs that are usefull compared to the stock bloatware that is a normal ROM.
Well, personally I understand your point here and your concern about what is the added value to flash/update to a new rom version. My personal suggestion to you is that you back up your current data and try a couple of cooked roms and that you experience if there is some improvement in the new rom that you picked.
If you are happy, leave the phone alone.

You can always go back to stock ROM after having a play.
Have fun flashing
Just be sure to remember that if your phone is still under warranty , that flashing a custom rom will void this warranty. If your phone breaks or crashes, AT$T and HTC will not fix it with a custom rom or spl on it. There are ways to get it back to warranty-able condition, but it is not as easy as just reflashing the stock rom.
I now try to read and download all available ROMs, but each ROM has some bugs and a don't know that chose....
There is no best ROM. Better or worse ROM is your subjective opinion! You have to try various versions and select your faworite
is the best u can get
