Hi All,
The screen recently stopped working on my X1, so I sent it off for repair via my insurance company.
The phone is now back, and has been repaired. However, the keyboard seems to "double tap" everything. So if I press an 'n' it appears on the screen as 'nn'. It does this with a range of different keys/numbers and is starting to get VERY frustrating.
Do you think it's likely I'm just holding down the button too long? Is there a setting I can change this?
Or is the phone likely to need to go off for repair AGAIN?
Thanks!
keyboard problem
Even my key board is having the same problem. though i have not sent it for any repair. i noticed it after upgrading to official rom R3A.infact the space bar does not seem to be working. i thought it must be because of some dust inside. Do you think there is any chance of software related issue in this?
I just sent my phone in for this issue. Theyll send you a replacement device. Be aware though that if you are sending it to the repair center in the states and have an x1i theyll send you an x1a instead. Im currently facing this problem and am going to be speaking to the corporate office tomorrow

The camera on my AT&T Tilt seems to be broken, when I press the camera button a blank black screen is all that appears. This problem occured within 30 days of me purchasing the device but of course, when I get to the store it works, and they do not accept my device for replacement. A week later, it ceases to work once again. So now im stuck, and my only option is to send in for a refurbished phone, but before I do that, I want to know if any of you know if it would be possible to jsut replace the camera myself. I have looked for replacement parts but all I have come across is batteries, backs and LCD Screens, do any of you know of anywhere where I may be able to find a replacement camera?

Have you upgraded your ROM???? If so your probably using the wrong radio.
Nope, im using the default ROM that came with my Tilt. I have installed a few 3d party apps (kaiser tweak, PocketSNES... etc.) but the camera was functioning incorrectly before that.
Hi, Iam new in the forum and I have the same problem with my tilt camera. ¿How could you fix it? Thanks.
I'm having problems with the softkeys, specially the left one it usually bounces and repeat the keystroke.
Has this happened to anyone?
similar problems here. little bit irritating.
Sometimes, too. More than that I have to push it few times to make it "click"
This was my last HTC
Same here! Weird.
I have this problem too. And also my camera have one horizontal line that changes color, on preview and on pictures. I tried to contact HTC in UK because i bought my phone there (i live in Croatia). But no response.
Same problem
Hi,
I have the same problem in my phone bougt this christmas. Left and right from joistick, and both softkeys work very very bad. Sometimes I have to press hard to obtain some response and others only one press makes two or three movements. This is very anoying while selecting pictures or using the calendar.
I'm searching for the invoice to take it to the technical service.
Best regards,
same problem here, can you please tell me wich rom you are using, the HTC rom or WM 6.1. I'm using 6.1 ROm and am wondering if the problem is ROM related or a hardware issue
Hardware, I kept the phone as it came in the box.

Ive just sent my phone off to HTC to be looked at (hopefully repaired under warranty). I've had the same stress cracks a lot of people seem to be having. And also the problem of multiple button presses randomly, lost count of the number of blank sms replies i sent because of it.
I'll let you know if I notice any improvement when i get the phone back or if they mention it at all.
problem
I sent 2 time my s730 to repair service for this problem. Finally they change the keyboard. The problem is reduced but not really solved.
I'm not sure it is a HW problem.
My phone is going back to HTC on monday...
1) single keypress jumps the menu twice
2) cracks in the side where the screws start
3) phone is very slow
The guy on the helpdesk asked me if I had ever upgraded my phone... so I had to tell him that it is HTC policy to not make any new updates for phones, they just bring out new phones... no reaction whatsoever...
Hello everyone,
Before I've experienced a problem with my TyTN II where the buttons were jammed and it would just go into voice recording whenever i turned it on.
The problem had disappeared until last week while i'm on vacation in middle east, took it to a local dealer for diagnosis and I was told I would need a new cable (no idea what it is) that would fix the problem.anyhoo, the estimated repair is costing me approx
$150 USD.
Is it worth it to get it repaired?

It depends whats causing the problem. If its your PTT button stuck, you can just reassign the button to not do anything. If somehow your phone has been corrupted then just flash your rom over again. Unless there's a physical hardware problem, I see no need for you to pay for some sort of repair.
i stopped using my x1 for some time then i came back to it but now when i try to type messages some times it doubles a letter
say i typed "n" sometimes i get "n" or "nn" or "nnn"
is this lag or is it a hardware issue
I have this exact problem to with a number of keys. Found it mostly happens with the N as well. Hope somebody figures this out.
this is a hardware issue, device needs disassembling and cleaning. Search it is already posted in forum
I suffer from this keyboard issue since some time now, but soon the warranty will expire, so I want to take my X1 to a service center to have it fixed before it is too late.
Do service centers fix it (or best, RMA the phone ) or just say it is wearing issue and bad usage and do nothing?
Same problem here. I don't recommend to claim Sony Ericsson warranty, they really have very bad service in my experience.
true, you'd better open and clean your x1 by yourself
Hi all
I have a problem with my milestone's keypad. A couple of months ago the phone's cover got cracked and I took it to one of our local network operator's(I'm in South Africa and Motorola doesn't have a repair centre here) repair centres. They quoted me a very high price to replace the cover and i told them to forget about it. However, since I got my phone back the keypad has problems. On the dial keypad, the phone does not respond to the numbers 2,5,8,0. On the motorola keyboard, the keys r,t,y; f,g,h and c,v,b do not respond and instead the phone inputs d when I try to type in f. The slide out qwerty keyboard for the phone does however work perfectly but its irritating because I have to slide out the keyboard whenever I want to make a phone call or send a text message. I have been thinking of rooting the phone to froyo in the hope that it will fix the problem but haven't done that as yet. Is there anyone who's encountered a similar problem and how did you manage to fix this?
Thanks

in this case the only suggestion is to fix it urself. (I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE)
You mean by rooting it myself?

Rooting will NOT fix your hardware problems like cracked device nor another. You phone looks phisically broken. So you either pay them what they ask or sell your broken one and get something new or (if skill and tools are there) try to find keyboard alone and replace yourself (not for service-newbies)
