I tried the Dusk theme, But it wasn't working as good as it should be. I just want to change the BG with my own for all tabs. I give Dusk one more try after I flash to 4.3. Thanks for the advice.

Old rom already has this bug,but still continue this rom
I am reading that a lot of people using Dutty's / Throy's Roms, still prefere v3.9 over any other version. Is it true that that one is better then all the others? And if so, what are the differences?

I used 3.9 for ages and it was great. Only upgraded to 4.1 after I tried a different ROM (which I didn't like). I've only noticed subtle differences
-icons on start menu are slightly lower than before, so line of text under 4th row of icons isn't visible until you scroll down a little (pretty sure this wasn't in 3.9)
-font's on manila seems slightly different (marginally larger and clearer)
-order of items in communications/wireless manager is diffferent (seems to change with every version)
Didn't notice the call history bug until it was mentioned previously, but it's present for me too (no idea if it existing in 3.9 or not).
No idea if any of this was fixed in 4.3 (it was released the day after I flashed to 4.1, go figure lol).
Overall I think the differences are subtle at most (probably depends on what you use I guess). I used 3.9 for months without issue.

I agree with @masadav that 3.9 ROM is surely the best...in fact am still using it since dutty first published it... and as far as some of the obs tht @masadav has:
-icons on start menu are slightly lower than before, so line of text under 4th row of icons isn't visible until you scroll down a little (pretty sure this wasn't in 3.9)
==== Nope...that [[roblem is not thr in 3.9. infact, it shows all the 4 rows clrearly and half an icon of the fifth row====
-font's on manila seems slightly different (marginally larger and clearer)
====I think the 3.9 interface is adequqtely clear for better viewing====
-order of items in communications/wireless manager is diffferent (seems to change with every version)
====Maybe...never had installed any other version to confirm this, but hardly makes any diference right???====
Didn't notice the call history bug until it was mentioned previously, but it's present for me too (no idea if it existing in 3.9 or not).
====This is certainly not there in the 3.9 version....====
Hope this helps u out man....
CHEERS !!!!!!!!
3.9 does appear to have been best wm6.1 rom as voted by most users. This is usually due to speed, stability, most things working etc.
However, IMHO I think your mad not to try wm6.5, either R12 or R2 Leo.
WM6.1 is on its way out, 6.5+ is the future

From my experience Dutty 2.1 Extreme is the best! You can fix all the bugs searching latest Dutty ROM thread.
No, I´m using Dutties Xtreme ROM V2.1 and there´s no bug - at least that cannot be solved. Give it a try, it´s much better than the old manila.

I don't know what happends the last three, four weeks, but not the ROMS are so bad or have so many bugs, but some people here do so!
I use Davideuck_V-2_HP and therefore Dutty's HD V2.1 XTREM. There are some few things which are not perfect, but all standard(!) functions are working, the roms are stable and I will say mostly bug-free. Much better then the stock ROMs.
So, what happends?

I'm still looking for a "bug-free" ROM with the new manila.
Davideuck_V-2 is a good ROM, but not perfect. here are some very annoying bugs :
1. Youtube app lags
2. Inside 'People Tab', in case you have a person with 2 numbers (mobile + work), try tapping the 'Work' button and you'll find out that it will call to the
mobile instead.
3. You can send files via Bluetooth, but you can't receive.
4. Can't view attachments in SMS. if someone send you a picture in SMS/MMS you can see the attachment icon but you can't view it.
If you know a ROM with the new manila without these bugs i will flash it right now.
maybe sound just silly but have you enable beam GoldCoin?i 'm running on david's v2 ans i can send and receive bt files.

There are 2 things you are talking about. You need be very clear on what you want.
Lately there are 2 knids of ROMs that are being cooked.
One With Topaz
One With Rohdium.
If you just need a ROM with the new Manila... go for the Topaz ROM.
Based on my experience... the David's V2 ROM with Topaz is almost bug free... except for the YouTube lag. Only in David's Tpoaz ROM I have seen the FaceBook integration working perfectly. Not in Dutty's...
Dutty's 2.1 is also pertty good except the FB integratio does not work.
The Bugs you have pointed out with the people tab calling only one number.. is an issue with Rohdium ROM not the Topaz one.
According to me.. The Rohdium ROM is the one with most of the BUGs... not the Topaz (David's is 99% perfect).
still all beta stuff anyway so hey, that's what we have

Thanks for sharing this information with me. 'Davideuck's Rohdium' is the first
ROM i have ever flashed since i got my HD, and in fact this is the only cooked ROM i've used so far.
About FB integration - i don't really need this. Here are few "must" features
for me on a ROM :
No mp4/youtube playback problems - watching videos on my blackstone is one of the reasons i bought it.
ICR - the ability to record calls with no problems. worked great on Rohdium.
New manila V3 - i just love the TF3d.
GPS - using it alot and can't afford problems with this feature.
New Start Menu - just like in Rohdium.
Also i need basic phone features to work well. SMS, MMS, No white images
when a caller doesn't have an image (some says Topaz has this problem) and
so on..
New Manila
I'm still looking for a "bug-free" ROM with the new manila.
But I can't get it. New Manila have so much change,I like it!

If Rohdium is a must for you... (The New Start menu is only possible with Rohdium. You have to wait until some one figures out how to have these things working. I am sure Davide will fix the YouTube lag.)
Dutty's latest ROM (V2.1) is a Topaz built, No new start menu. If not everything elase works perfect.
how do you use FB intergration?please tell me

facebook can be added to rhodium, im still looking into it and im probably bout 80% through sorting it out, to add it use m9editor find settings.xml file from the _manilla files in both topaz and rhodium and compare the differences' youll notice a section completely missing from rhodium to do with people updates, add missing lines to rhodium settings.xml and upload the changed file,(there is also a few other diffrences im looking into)
This doesnt get it 100% working but i now have the facebook options and still testing other files that may be different or missing, i just run out of time last night
The manilla settings file is 26948339_manila, if anyones intrested ill upload my changes for them
there is also some files missing/different that need to be sorted through
if you know so much about it please tell me how you do this integration?
Its not that i know so much about it, i just spent time examining the files available to me, and worked it out anyone is capable of doing it, all the information is there,
Ive had this phone for a bit more then a month and started using the kitchens about a week ago, so as i said its not really about me knowing so much, just a matter of taking the time to work it out,
depending on what source your getting the files from you will have different experience, Heres wat i know.
26948339_manila (i think in m9editor this shows as manila.xml not settings.xml)
100% rhodium oem package (what i was working with) is missing quite a few lines of code which i metioned in my above post, you need to add those into the file and also make sure they havent been disabled.
but i had a look in some of the released roms n it seems atleast on davide's v2 rom the the info is in the file, it has just been disabled look for the <!-- at the beggining of the line remove it and also the closing --> then the line is no longer disabled
Files
Some files are missing from the oem package and also from some of the chefs roms but you can get them from the topaz oems floating around.
All this is from memory i finish work in 45 minutes then back to work on the phone so if i get time ill up the files for you and all you have to do is copy them into your windows folder
This is a WM6.5.1 ROM, based on the latest WM6.5.1 OEM ROM and 23037 XIP/SYS from Da_G.
All it has got is the bare minimum OEMDrivers, plus a fully featured SYS (some of the SYS applications have been tweaked: removed extra screen layouts for LockScreen, removed SampleMusic etc, UPXed a few things).
The XIP has been tweaked quite heavily to get the best performance, and you should be able to add whatever you like to this ROM and it should remain stable.
Try it and see (and install whatever keyboard you feel like using).
This will probably act as the basis for some "full" ROMs afterwards.

Hi Please can I have this rom!!
Have been wondering why everyone is stuck on 23016 or lower!
Did you build it using ervius kitchen?
Would love this ROM with:
Manilla 2.6
Opera Latest Non 9.7 version
Default HTC apps that ship with the Rhodium - That's it!
And all default WM Apps including RDP Client, Office Mobile, OneNote,
Don't really have much on the suggestion side of things, I actually prefer the standard 6.5 interface over the manila. So maybe an option without manila would be good? Default apps only would be good too .
Anywho, I'm very interested in helping out. I've been lurking these forums for a long time now, time to help a bit.
Hi DOS - do you have the resources to build this ROM.
i.e. ervius and 800x480 res, xips, oem drivers for RHodium?
Let me know if you need any testing done! I am running this build on my fuze (cooked it myself) and I love it! Rhodium is much harder to cook for though, still working on my kitchen! LOL
Unfortunatly no, hadn't really got that far. I could just see what was available wasn't for me.

Everyone's "stuck" on 23016 because it's STABLE.
These new builds won't even work with many programs, so yea.
Hi Ace,
Didn't know that - what features or programs are incompatible with build 23022 upwards?

Idk, I've just been following the thread for the new 6.5 leaks. There's LOTS of problems that they have to iron out.
Manila doesn't work...Many programs have been reported to not work.
This is all due to the new bars that they made. The bottom bar is larger, which will overlap with programs, and causes problems.
But make this ROM, because it'll be fun to PLAY with. It won't be for primetime use, exactly. But it'll be interesting to see what MS is working on.
oh, I see!
So those new bars with the new icons break existing programs...
Thanks for the heads up!
Still want to have a play though - curiosity and all!

All programs "work" you just have scroll bars at the side. Hopefully, the change in the top bar will make the screen area available for applications about the same as before.
Everyone stuck on 23016 because it's the latest without the newest UI changes.

The smaller top bar of 23034 should make up for that a little.
Be happy to beta test.
So....
I have a TP2 ( RHO100 ) and I have the stock WWE rom from HTC with WM6.5 installed but now the the HD2 is out I've seen videos of it with the new Manila 2.5.
And I have fallen in love with the wdiget home screen and new fully screen weather animations. I am also very interested in the ability to have threaded SMS.
I have tried doing some searches for ROMs that contain the new manila 2.5 but I am not sure which one would be best. A lot of them seem to make their own preferential upgrades, or they removed parts to make them faster, but I am a little wary they may cut out things that I want.
Can anyone recommend a ROM that is as close to the stock as possible, whilst just upgrading to WM6.5.1 and Manila 2.5, with all the original stuff. I'd like to customise my taskbar etc myself rather than have it chosen for me...
What can you guys recommend?
That's a good question. I don't know if a total stock ROM exist with 6.5.1/3 and Manila 2.5.
Give it a try

Can I also back this question, that is exactly what I am looking for.
Hi,
My experience...
I have tried many roms (energy, athineos, josh's, fusion...) and first, I think, you have to decide if you want:
- windows mobile 6.1(very old), 6.5, 6.5.1 or 6.5.3. There are separates into 2 categories (6.1 and 6.5 / 6.5.1 and 6.5.3). The most difference I have noticed is that the button "Start" is on the top left corner or at the bottom of the screen.
- manila 2.1 or 2.5. The version 2.5 is most recent but there are many bugs for the landscape mode. It doesn't work for many tabs. But it is the best of both version. The version 2.1 is working fine.
After, for all roms I have tried, every times I have some bugs. Often there are very very minor problems (example: bugs with the lock screen, freeze, slow performance...) and to solve them I just have to soft reset the phone. I think it depend of your provider, rom radio, utilization of your phone: bluetooth with headset, software you use...
You must also choose the design you prefer.
Testing is the best way to find your best rom.
Very big thinks to all chief who work hardto create these roms.
I hope it can help you and you can read my bad english;-).
Bye.

Bye.

Vinsyl, thanks very much yes, elab is right, you make some good points.
However, may I digress...
I have already done a lot of investigating into the differences between the builds....
- I mentioned that I want to see 6.5.1 because it's more stable and more importantly has threaded SMS, which is what I'm after more than anything.
- It's only 6.5.3 from what I can tell which has moved the start menu to those silly blobs at the bottom.
- After research I also came to the conclusion that it Manila 2.5 was heavily buggy in pre-release, especially in landscape mode..... however, having now seen a full release on the HD2 and I'm guessing working in full landscape mode with all it's own apps, I was guessing that one of the CHEF's will have had a chance to rip Manila 2.5 out of the HD2 and whack it in a TP2 rom.
So Remember, I'm not looking for a STOCK rom, that comes from HTC. I'm looking for a Stock ROM base, cooked up to WM 6.5.1 with a seasoning of Manila 2.5 and no further additives. Is there a chef willing to try something so CRAZY?!

6.5 does threaded SMS. (it's the first thing I turn off though, I hate it) You will need a tweak program to enable / disable, sometimes the cook will provide something built in. (sometimes in Start -> Settings -> System menu there is a "Threaded SMS" icon, otherwise use Rhodium Tweak Tool or HD Tweak one of those will do it)
And 6.5.1 has the "silly blobs at the bottom" same as 6.5.3
If you want start menu at the top you want 6.5 (or 6.1 I suppose). Also if you are looking for STABLE you want 6.5.
6.5.1 / 6.5.3 are from leaked Microsoft BETA code and therefore aren't really designed to be stable, of course you may find they are stable for you, I used to run a 23064 (one of last 23xxx builds with start menu at top) EnergyROM and it was awesome. Also with the build numbers, a general rule is 21xxx is 6.5, 23xxx is 6.5.1 and 28xxx is 6.5.3. But there is a better post you may want to search for regarding this, goes into more detail if you are interested.
Good luck in your quest

question why did you stop using it? I am thinking of picking up EnergyROM_23081
[Warning, theres alot to read ]
Hi All,
Just want to say a big thanks to all the great developers out there such as Dutty, Miri, topix, energyrom, xannytech.. etc.
Without you guys I think I would have sold my HD a long time ago.
I think I have flashed my Hd almost every day or two, since I had my hands on it. As there has always been a bug or two in every rom.
I have been a long time fan of Dutty's rom. But now that its stopped at the holy grail r0, the builds have been updated. Its great to have used his roms, but its still not perfect. So recently I've started looking again at other cookers.
I've been using WM 6.5 for a long time and I don't think that will change. But recently I have tried every combination wm6.1/m2.1, wm6.5/m2.1 wm6.5/m2.5 of different cookers, and tested. To see whether I have been missing out on anything.
I've finally come to a conclusion that wm6.5/m2.1 was the most stable and smoothest rom around. That brings me to Miri's roms. I've tried the wm6.5/2.5 v18 and wm6.5/m2.1 v35.
Miri's Wm6.5/2.5 v18 was great, but like every m2.5, it is still abit slow. and since I dont like the new HTC messenger, I would lose out on the mms. Well I dont really miss mms that much, but I've been without it for 6month+. And if I try to install Opera 10 on it, my pop up menu's were all screwed up and its one of those things I couldn't accept.
So lastly I went and tried Miri's wm6.5/m2.1 v35. And I must say, I think this is the one. There are a few bugs there, but I will post the links down to fix them.
First is the Miri's Rom: //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493911
Before flashing Miri's rom there are a few things I would like to note
1. lockscreen delay that you would most likely want to fix by adding a file into your storage card.
link here //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=587931
2. Pagepool changer to make the rom amazing I've tried countless sizes, but I've come to a conclusion that setting my pagepool number to 0 was the most effective.
link here //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323269
Now you can flash the rom
After installing, you would notice on the settings tab that the line is missing between communications and customise tabs. And the line between g-sensor would flicker when you scroll down to it.
This is the list of things I would install:
1. Autolock - install csdevctrl.6.5.cab and play with the settings to your liking.
link here //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=386451
2. Chinese support - Just a unicode to read asian languages,
link here //rapidshare.com/files/135293786/uhei00m-gray.cab.html
3. 2d/3d driver by Neos2007 - make wonders for games on HD and also seems to fix the line problems on the settings tab.
link here //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=496528
4. Gfxboost by Chainfire - This is abit complicated, it doesn't boost the graphics, it's more like it smoothens the display. So its more pleasant..
read more here //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509704
5. Opera 10 beta - This is sooo much better than any other browsers. When you load a webpage, it used to show those annoying blocks that hasn't loaded. Not anymore! anyways no harm to test right? Just flash hasn't been implemented into it yet. But i dont mind..
download here //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486502
6. HD Tweak - Im sure most ppl know this one. I just use this to change the left and right keys on the home screen. And turn off the sms sent notification. Thats about it
Just a note, although there is autolock function in HD tweak, it doesnt work that well. As soon as the backlight goes off, it doesnt come back on till you push the power button and back again.
link here //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=452505
Lastly: Im not a fan of the HTC task manager. So I normally turn it off by disabling the quick menu on today screen tick box. And just shortcut in programs tab to MS task manager.
Thats all I had to share
Hope you find your rom that works for you. This one just happens to work perfectly for me..
I use KWBR's rom.
I didn't choose Miri's as the log is not clear.
Energy rom is also quite impressive I would say.
Could you elaborate the better side of the Miri rom from your view?

if PP is set to 0, most probably the OS will adjust according to usage...
actually now i'm looking for stable WM6.5.x with manila/Sense 2.1 (as close to stock as possible, something like wajk's blackSTONEhenge), but most of recent ROM comes with Manila/Sense 2.5, which is a bit tough on the HD...not to mention lock-ups problem, even those who has flashed custom ROMs in HD2 is having some problems...when that time comes, i'm more than happy to stick with kwbr's topix 3.2.5 (might flash to the latest version as it comes with EzInput 2.1, which i like a lot)...

As much as I appreciate your comments, this is obviously your opinion and a lot of users may agree or disagree.
I'll continue to leave this thread open to see where it goes for the time being
I'm wondering who is still developing ROMs with the latest versions of Windows (6.5.3, 6.5.5, etc) but Sense 2.1. I'm trying to resist the fancy 2.5 beause it seems to be a lot less legible for someone with poor vision. Serge had been promising a new release but has not mentioned it in months. NRGZ28 makes one but shows no images of it. I'm not sure who else is still working in these.
Anyone out there still favoring these? If so, what are you using?
Thanks
The NRG ROM is pretty good, you should try it out. I would like to see more Chefs build 2.1 ROMs too though.
I think the only WM6.5 Sense 2.1 ROM being currently supported and updated is Energy ROM. I am using it and its awesome.
I think Sense 2.5 has more problems than benefits as compared to Sense 2.1, and more chefs should support Sense 2.1...
Anyways cheers to NRG, I am a big fan and supporter
Im also using NRGZ28 titanium with manila 2.1 current version (June19 with start button on top). I looked for a while for a 2.1 built but couldnt really find any with good info on the rom. I wish he would post more pictures of the rom and describe what programs are installed you know more info for every one to read rather than jumping the ship to find out what the rom has
Sergio just said he will update the 2.1 ROMs soon
Any of the NRG users using the 6.5.x ROMs with the menus on the bottom?
I am, and it is freaking fantastic. Its beautiful, and I get really good battery life with it, not to mention a ton of memory. I would highly recomend it to someone looking for sense 2.1 6.5.x ROM.
Hollywould, what ROM are you using exactly?
I am using Energy ROM 23569 Sense 2.1 June 19 build. Is that what you wanted to know?
Yeah. It is. When I go to his thread, there's only the 2.5 builds to download from... Where can I get that specific rom? [sorry, I'm new to this lol]
If you go under Titanium ROM Build at the bottom of the first post, it'll be there. To save you time, here's the link.

Does anyone know of a solid 6.5.3 Titanium only ROM that also has the ATT keyboard.dll baked in and also doesn't have much in the way of icon/status bar customization? I'm looking for just a solid, fast, tons of free memory 6.5.3 Rhodium build that is ready to go for ATT.
Any mod available that displays multiple calendar items on your today screen with Sense 2.1?
In that case I would be interested to

NRG's has it. if you go to "Windows Start Key" -> Tools -> "Carrier Provisioning" will give give you 2 ATT & 2 T-Mobile setup options, turning one on will set up the keyboard properly.

That sets most of the normal keys but doesn't map all the function keys or OK button. It's a pain to use the keyboard mapper to fix this. I prefer to have one that is built especially for the ATT hardware out of the box to avoid this.

search for the AT&T keyboard fix cab.. i have to use the T-Mobile Home Key & ALT key fix cab everytime, which works perfectly fine.
jacko's smartmove rom
check out jackos smartmove rom, its 2.1 and very stable and very fast!
i am still currently using Miri WM 6.5 21885 :: MANILA 2.1 :: V 7.0 http://www.xda-developers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=552641&
it has served me exceedingly well over the whole time. it is discontinued and is outdated in terms of its build number (a great pity) but for all intents and purposes is a great stock feel ROM with heaps of RAM, stability and speed. I tried looking around for a more recent ROM to replace this but could not find one that appeared to retain the stock HTC feel. Hope this helps
