update w/out hardspl please help

i got my tilt from a friend. she did a rom update from htc.DEVICE INFO READS AS FOLLOWS: ROM version:1.62.502.0 ROM date:01/17/08 Radio version:1.27.14.09 Protocal version:22.45.88.07H ABOUT READS AS FOLLOWS:Windows Mobile 6 Professional CE OS 5.2.1662(Build 18128.0.4.4) she did not install HardSPL. i would like to flash a new rom. did she sell me a phone that cannot flash or can i install HardSPL and flash my heart out? also do i need to unlock my phone b4 flashing or can i just start w/the hardspl thread? thanks u guys. if this has been answered allready please link me 2 the post i've been searching 2 days now.

That is the up to date official rom, there are no newer ones. If you want to install a custom rom, you need to install HardSPL first. But before doing anything read and understand the wiki on Rom Flashing before doing anything . Have Fun

read the kaiser wiki ... do your homework and we will gladly help. Just don't ask stuff that gets asked 10 times a day.
Before flashing any rom you need to have hardspl, no ifs ands or buts; unless you want to ruin your device in that case feel free.

Some problems after I have flashed

Hi!
Today I've decided, after many reads to update my HTC Touch HD to a cooked ROM.
So I've followed this procedure and all was ok:

I choosed the EnergyRom Leo Standard M2.5.
So first thing, my screen is blue since the start, but it became ok if I just turn off and up the screen.
Second problem, after 1-2 minute of use, the screen doesn't respond anymore.
I said ok, and I tried another rom, the XannyTechROM Grid Leo, and same problems! What is wrong?
Can you help me?

Your problem is classic for not having the correct SPL. You need to flash 1.56 or greater. Please refer to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377, and in the future post all questions there. Good luck!

Okay, so if I understand good, I must use HSPL instead of USPL?

You can also flash an official ROM with 1.56SPL and use USPL.

If I want to update to one in french, I absolutely need to use this one:
RUU_BlackStone_HTC_FRA_1.56.406.1_Radio_52.62.25.34_1.13.25.24_Ship.exe?
Because the download is very slow :S

I just finish to download and install the previous ROM, but it's written now SPL-1.54 in the boot loader, will it be enough?

Before flashing any rom based on 1.56+ you need to have either SPL 1.56.Olinex (using HSPL) or SPL v 1.15.USPL (Using USPL)
All this info can be found in dummies guide thread. No need for another.

I need help.

Im using official rom from HTC.want to flash to sifu 6.1 rom but failed,luckily not bricked.im not sure whether my phone gt SPL.i got go to bootloader screen.there gt: SPL: 3.29 .should i still need to use the HARD SPL before i flash to sifu 6.1 rom? i wnt to flash because my phone will freeze every few seconds.i knw some ppl oso experience this.any fix? You MUST HAVE HARD SPL to flash cooked ROMs.
Check the "How to Flash Your First ROM for NOOBs" tutorial under the sticky in the Kaiser ROM dev forum.

Yup if you don't want to ruin your phone then HardSPL should be the first thing you flash. Which version depends on if you run into difficulties or not. Read the stickies its all in there.

Remove Hard-SPL

Hi, can you help me with how to remove the Hard-SPL to upgrade to the original ROM for HTC Touch Pro 2. I'm from Bulgaria, the phone is not locked to an operator (AT & T Orange), etc. What files will I need and how. I also want to download the original Rom from the site of HTC. Thanks in advance!

One note from my experience: first downgrade to original rom then install original spl. I had an issue, it was bricked, but all it needed was to one more time upgrade original rom.

You mean that you must first install the original Rom (I could not download it from HTC's site can help you). And then correct me if I'm wrong:
First you say to install the original ROM.
2nd to download RhodiumSPLRelocker_079SPL.zip unzip it and run. Exe
3rd Stock_SPL_Restore_084.zip to download and in the same way as putting a new ROM to choose it (unzip it first)
Do I need to do Hard Reset at any time? And maybe a little help otkade to download original ROM.

I did this from the link you gave me in boot loadera get out this Oninex, then I load again ROM-a which had previously tried to put my original and gave me an error

The instructions say to flash the stock ROM before you re-lock SPL.

i don't think you can re-lock your phone with custom rom on your phone but what you do is hard_spl it (if spl re-locked) then
task 29 ----> install stock rom ----> re-lock spl
good to go

Hello, thank you for the help you gave me, but I think we still have a problem (task29). Do the following:
1 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=649191 here I lost my task29.zip.
2 - unzip it, inside there was task29, had ROMUpdateUtility.exe. ROMUpdateUtility.exe and opened as follows next .. next .. me and sticks to 0%.
In the above post I mentioned that yesterday I did relock SPL before I know that I need to do this first (I do not write now in olinex boot loadera). I think from there

The solutions mentioned above will NOT work, because you don't have hardspl installed.
Flash Hardspl again and then restore to stock rom and spl.

This is what i told you to do in Post #7 ..... i guess you didn't read it at that time but anyways glad to know your problem is solved

How did you MAKE a new HardSPL ? When I did this mistake, I had to buy another HardSPL to unlock it because the license I had for the first time was already used up.

he already had the same phone Hard-SPLed. the license works for the same phone forever. a different phone is different.

wenever i try updating it says "Phones software modified cannot update" and i've never modified anything... & never updated before...

dude, you're running a custom-rom, that's why seus is blocking you. read up on how to manually flash a rom, because that's what you have to do.

It happened to me once.
Regarding you have "manila version 2.5.20113030.0" and your OS version, you have a custom ROM installed, and this means also you have HSPL installed in your device.
To get your device recognized by SE update service, you have to flash a *stock* ROM, and also a stock SPL.
After doing these two steps, your device will be recognized.
You must be familiar with flashing ROMs, and you should search the whole forum for stock ROMs and SPL, before attempting to flash anything..(I'm not responsible for any damage)
As a suggestion, refer to this thread for a detailed info on the subject
and also this thread for Stock SPL (see "extra how to: how to restore Stock SPL for warranty reasons." section)

Unfortunately, the Xperia X1 is now an old device, and the links to its stock items are rare and not working any more.
I managed to find links for the stock ROM (Generic UK WWE, latest version provided by SE which is R3A)
Here it is:

After you download the two parts, rename the file extension from .image to .nbh, and if you are using the SD card method, rename the file to kovsimg.nbh
Be sure to read about flashing ROMs and changing the SPL, if you did it the wrong way you may damage your device.
