Hardspl, ApplUnlocker, Romupdate - HTC Breeze

Ok, i've tried everything that i've read in these threads, but am not having any luck.
I've got an HTC Breez (rom 1.13.251.2, radio 1.06.00.10, spp -2.05), and i'm trying to update it to WM6.1.
i've tried to use Hard SPLV7, which tells me that my phone needs to be application unlocked.
Then i tried to use AppUnlock-Check.zip (ApplicationUnlock.exe) to unlock it. But that tells me that my phone cannot be unlocked.
So, can someone please help me to prepare my phone to be rom updated? Please? This WM5.0 is not very nice!
thanks in advance for any help.

Ok, some progress. Based on this method i got the phone application unlocked.
However, when running the Hard-SPL-V7 it runs through until i give the last ok, then looks like it's running, then crashes. So no luck there.
Question: i am assuming that i need hard-spl prior to loading a new (WM6.1) onto the phone, correct?
thanks.

Hello out there. Is there no one that can lend me a hand? A hint?

He,,
You still need help?
Wich windows are you using? rom update only works with winXP...
You can search for updating using sdcards

Ah, hello!
I am using Win xp, and it did not work. Can you tell me exactly which version of Hardspl i should use?
thanks

You could try this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552567
Tell me if you got hard SPL to work with this one. Follow the instructions on that page^^
There is also an update program wich automatically put your phone in sspl mode:
http://rapidshare.com/files/110014028/MTeoR-FutureShock-WM61-1.61.0004.0.rar
But,, if I where you I should first put Hard-SPL on your phone couse else you could brick your device.

Hello, and thanks for this. Problem is that the only SD card that i have is 4 gb, which does not work with the breeze!
Do you have any other way of making the 1st method work?
thanks for your help.

Download both files of my post above.,, In one of them you find the update program. In this folder you found an NBH file or something.., Delete this one and copy the NBH file of the other argive to this folder. I'm not sure if you have to rename it to the name of the NBH file you just deleted...
Connect your device over usb with active sync Then run the bat file.

Hmm, does not work! Any other suggestions?

Does active sync connect to your phone?
Wich application unlock tool did you use?

Siemens SX66 ROM Update Issue

I have a Siemens SX66 Cingular branded PPC. I downloaded the latest Official ROM Update but get the Wrong Country ID error. I found out that this was due my phone being an AT&T varient even though the phone says Cingular. So I wanted to know is anyone has the original ROM update that came out before the Siemens-1.33.10-Full_Update and if so could provide it to me thank you in advance. I need to put an offical rom back on my phone so I can send it back to cingular so they can send me a replacement phone.
Go to the SX66 Standardization Project to get the most recent ROMs for the SX66; they have both Cingular & ATT versions.
I went there but it's not an official version number which cingular will check for.

Try following the instructions here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_FAQ_Upgrade_Errors
You will need to run the upgrade a second time for it to install, the first time clears the previous contents, the second time the upgrade should run.
That wont work already tried that. Thankz for the resond though. BTW how do you like that new wizard OS on your sx66?

Did you edit the .conf file as outlined in step 4? This worked for me. You may also try the MaUpgradeUt_noID route as well.
I prefer WM 2005 over 2003 I'm willing to work with the warts and try to advance the ball
Ya it gets rid of that error but then i get a error in the checksum

go back and make sure you have edited the editfix.bat file correctly, there is a set of three lines to recalculate the checksum and update it for each of the nba files (xda3nbftool -c -u ?????.nba).
hakushox,
The only way to get back to an officially supported ROM on the AT&T variant of the SX66 is with the MaUpgradeUt_noID. Now, I have not tried this, but here is what you'd need to do. Download the official Siemens update for the 1.33.10 System, and launch it. Once the first screen screen appears, open the Windows File Explorer, and search for nk.nbf. The one you are looking for will exist in a temp directory, and will exist with ms_.nbf, and radio_.nbf. Copy these files to a easy to find directory as these are the files you'll need to do the downgrade with. Cancel the offcial upgrade tool. Now, download the MaUpgradeUt_noID tools from this site, and extract it to a directory on your computer. Copy the .nbf files into that directory. Now, place your phone into boot loader mode, and place it in the cradle. Wait a few minutes for the OS to detect the "new" sync device. Finally launch the MaUpgradeUt_noID tool, and step through the screens. Once completed, it will place System 1.33.10, Radio 1.06.02, and Extended 1.33.110 ROMs on your device.
This works because the MaUpgradeUt_noID tool does check the ROM ids, and will let you flash any IDed rom onto your phone. As you can imagine, it is a rather dangerous tool if you don't have a good idea what you are doing, which is why I have tried to get it away from the Standardization project.

Worked like a charm much thanks
Excellent!

I tried uploading the original SX66 Cingular rom to the FTP but for some reason its not responding, if some one wants it email me and I will send it.

I am interested in downloading the factory Siemens SX66 firmware, after upgrading the firmware my SD slot no longer recognizes SD Memory... very strange.
Please let me know where to download the factory firmware.
Note: I have (2) SD PNY cards that work fine in my PPC4100, however, my SX66 doesn't recognize either card and wondering if this maybe a compatibility issue. I'm going to swap the 512MB with a SANdisk tomorrow to see if this rectifies the problem. Can anyone confirm SD compatibility issues with the SX66 --- is there a SD Memory quick reference chart available for the SX66?
Mike
Let me know if anybody has any ideas before I send it in for repairs...
Thanks - Mike

Rom Update: Error [260]

While trying to update my MDA Vario with the new AKU 2 ROM of T-Mobile the RUU puts the MDA in bootloader. Then Windows notifies me of a new unknown USB device and the update utility gives me an communication error with error code [260] - upgrade failed.
1) How to solve this problem as this would make me or
2) Is it possible for someone to make a complete backup on a mini SD card of his HTC Wizard? From what I have read on Internet this can be written to a file. When posted on the XDA ftp I can write this file back to a mini SD card and restore a original ROM (for this I need a short tutorial).
option 2 assumes that the problem is related to the ROM. I super CID and SIM unlocked using the well known tools. Maybe this has gone wrong at some point :?: ?.
I'm having the same problem moving up to a custom 2.26. Did you ever find a solution.
Thanks,
Jeff
dont qoute me on this.. but i believe its an issue with the update utility... hopefully someone else can confirm or deny this..
but you can try this one:
i dont know how much either of you know so i will try some directions with this...
take my rar file, extract them to a folder, lets use c:\rom for an example
if you rom you have is in an *.exe format then use winrar to extract the rom to a folder then take the nk.nbf file and copy it to c:\rom and then run the update utility
if your rom is already in a rar or zip file then just extract the nk.nbf file to the c:\rom folder and then run the update utility
hope that helps

the custom rom that you have, does it have the NoID update utility already?
ANSWER
I spent a few hours fiddling with this, and it turns out that my problem was that I have a miniSD installed. Make sure you pop your miniSD out of the slot before you begin the update, and it should work.

Yes, it does. Oh, I also tried this without the MiniSD in the device (a known but really strange problem). Still getting the error.
Error 260 Finally Gone!!!
Well, just for the heck of it, I tried xelencin's 2.26 ROM update from another PC...and it succeeded.
Clearly, it is a new issue related to my laptop but it is probably going to quite a bit of trouble to track down.
Thanks everyone,
Jeff

Well first i dont really know how to save the original ROM but don't worry. The most of the original ROMs are available at the blackstoneWIKI so you can check if your version is listed before flashing.
When it comes to the flashing itself it's really easy. First of all download USPL from this site. Then you download the ROM you want to flash with. If the ROM is named nbhsigned.nbh you will want to change this to BLACIMG.nbh and if it's already named BLACIMG.nbh just leave it like that. Then you copy BLACIMG.nbh to the root of your storage card (the main folder). Then you go to activesync->connection settings->disable USB connections.
Now turn the phone off and remove your storage card. Enter bootloader mode by pressing PowerON and volDOWN simultaneously. When your in bootloader mode wait for the text "serial" at the bottom to change to USB. When it says USB you insert your storage card. After that you run blac_uspl in the USPL folder you downloaded. The phone will now restart and come back in USPL bootloader mode. USPL will update and recognize BLACIMG.nbh in your storage card and it will ask if you want to update. Press yes and your good to go.
You should backup all your important files before flashing and remember this way of flashing isn't 100% secure and I can't assure you that you're phone won't break, but following these steps closely really should narrow down the risks with flashing by alot.
Hope this helped you!
Thank you! This helped me too Can i do it with Windows 7?
Thanks friend, I tried it but I'm having a little difficulties When I use the tool I et an error message about USB - it can't find the phone.
Any ideas?
I did as you wrote and it worked till I used the EXE tool. There nothing happenes. I downloaded the latest version, but I0m using Vista. Acording to post where I downloaded it it should work on Vista.
Thanks for everything
Dave
First dump your rom using the method described here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427507
After that's done flash HardSPL described here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431217
A littlebit of reading wouldn't hurd you I think.
Also in Dutty's thread the procedure is well described how to flash so why open a new thread?

Xperia brainfart: Problems with flashing

So people around here sometimes get troubled with regular flashing that doesn't work anymore.
I'll explain my problem on this part:
I flashed to a new ROM just to find out that i didn't like the content so i wanted to flash back to TOUCH X.
I did the usual stuff to flash my phone with, Hardspl, then bootloader etc. etc.
PROBLEM!
Now all my phone seems to be doing is go into bootlader and start updating. However, after 3 seconds i get the message that the update is complete. My phone resets itself, and i found out that nothing has changed. I tried it a number of other times, without results.
Now my question is: is there any other way to do this, this is obviously not working!
post all your ideas here so other people can read this in case that they have the same problem!
Everytime you flash a ROM, you do not need to hardspl your device, only once...I would reformat your memory card, use a stock original rom and see if it will flash with that....usually the issue you are seeing is because the nbh file is not being read properly, make sure your nbh file is named correctly.I have had the issue earlier in my days where if I copied the nbh file through active sync something gets screwed in the transfer...used an external card reader and copied it to my memory card after formatting it and it went through....just some suggestions....Good Luck
Regards,
WC

EDIT: Really a lot of thanks for anyone helping, i really would love to start flashing again!
grateful for the help arnt you..
try flashing the USB method, if it works its probably due to your memory card. (unless ur already using the usb method, then try the memory card method!)
How do i use the USB method exactly?
And really guys, thanks for all the feedback, maybe make this a sticky for future reference?

well what you do is download the file attached to this post (it is available in one of the stickies but when i tried to download it, it failed so i zipped this one up for you)
extract the .exe within to where your nbh file is (not on xperia, on computer)
make sure there is no KOVSIMG.nbh on your memory card!
put your phone in bootloader (tricolour screen) and plug in via USB
run the custom_RUU.exe and follow the prompts pressing next etc.
you don't have to sync via activesync 1st like it says.
ignore the version number of the ROM just make sure your using the correct nbh and flash!
urm i think you should at least try to look at the stickies .........
this is very useful. i had problem flashing using micro sd so all my flashes are via usb.

That seemed to have done the trick people!
Thanks very much and keep up the good work!

Unbranding HD Mini to latest HTC ROM

Please not that this is my first guide on here and I'll make it as easy to understand as much as possible.
This has been tested on a Vodaphone branded HD Mini. Please reply to this post if this has worked on a different branded phone.
This is to help people to Unbrand their HD Mini's.
Have you managed to flash it to the latest ROM? If not you need to do the following:
•Download the SSPL_RUU.exe and put it into an empty folder (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=694409)
•Add the RUU_signed.nbh that you want to flash to your device into the same folder (http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Pho...adio_Signed_32.2803.05.06_0.63.05.36_Ship.exe) Assuming you want Western Europe ROM. You can use a different ROM if you want
•Connect your HD Mini to your PC. Making sure you use ActiveSync
•Run SSPL_RUU.exe and following the onscreen propmts.
Once done your phone will reboot. Next is to flash a Radio ROM.
•Move your ROM from the folder which contains the SSPL_RUU.exe
•Using the ROM that you just used Extract it to a location of your choice by using winRAR. Look for
Radio_32.2806.05.06_0.63.05.40 and rename it to PHOTIMG.nbh
•Place PHOTIMG.nbh into the same folder as SSPL_RUU.exe and flash once again
•Once done you will have a unbranded HD Mini as if you bought it like that. This worked on my Vodaphone
branded HD Mini and worked a charm.
I'd like to thank DarkForcesTeam for the SSPL_RUU.exe and the rest of the developers that have made
this possible. Without them we would be stuck with these branded phones.
Could the Admins place this as a sticky please. Many Thanks
The phone hard-resets after radio flash ? I want to flash only the radio.
Thanks for your guide, wardy. Great explanation.
But it doesn't work with my HD mini.
It stays at 0% for quite a long time. Afterwards, there's an error saying something about a wrong ID.
I'm afraid I'll have to wait for a HD mini hardspl

As long as you are using the SSPL_RUU.exe to flash only the radio & renaming then you can flash it. Yes after the flash the phone does hard-reset.
Which part does it stay on? Please list the error exactly as it appears so that I can help you further.
If its ''Error 294, Invalid Vendor ID'' then download PHO03693.exe over to your device and install it then try to flash the radio again.

Thanks, I installed PHO03693.exe now. What happened afterwards:
-The error I get when I try to install any ROM via “DFT_SSPL_MINI” is “[202] Connection error”.
-If I enter boot mode via my endkey app and install via “DFT_SSPL_MINI” after that, it ends with “Error [262]: Update error”. When I click “view document”, it says: “dummy file”.
-If I try to install official HTC ROM “RUU_Photon_HTC_Europe_1.36.401.1_Radio_Signed_32.2803.05.06_0.63.05.36_Ship”, I get “Error [294] invalid vender ID”
Not sure about that error code. Have you tried doing a hard-reset first then trying to flash the ROM. If your using Windows Vista or Windows 7 then try running SSPL_RUU.exe as Administrator. Hope this helps

Im using an O2 UK HD MINI but have upgraded the ROM to the latest just the radio has remained at 0.63.05.18
I flashed with east europen ROM and now (and before flashing) I don't have GSM signal on phone, strange is that signal show up sometimes 1/5 and disapear again after few seconds but nothing else.
I have one phone with original Spanish language and have same problem with signal. dunno why that happen.
can anyone send me the steps in german? i dont really understand it xD
sorry but my english ist not perfect
Managed to carry out the Radio ROM update with an O2 branded phone.
However the Radio rom listed is still the old one (0.63.05.18)
The update process appeared to take but the radio ROM has remained the same. So take from that what you will?!
