Hi all,
To anyone out there who has tried all three of what look like to be the best Rhodium ROMs here currently - which one would you recommend and why?
Miri - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552643
At0mAng - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=555747
NRGZ28 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=553506
I'm about to load my first ROM and any feedback on which one would has the best stability with working Exchange 2007 + BT integration would be appreciated.
Many thanks
PS - pls no more "just read their threads" posts, have done that already and keen to get any first hand feedback
Let's see! All the information you want is in that respective thread! If you read them, then you wont need to ask. Also ROM performance depends on what you install and where you live! So you really cant compare what other users say.
Just read, flash and enjoy!

Seriously; the previous poster is right: it's all a matter of personal taste. You honestly can only judge for yourself, and your type of usage of your device.
Besides, there are more cooks, you forgot some ROMS in your list
Again: just flash, use the rom for a few hours, and try another one... after a while you will see what cook fits your need the best
I personally prefer At0mang's ROM's they are fast and stable and good for everyday use
Like anyone needs to ask...my ROM of course
My 2 cents
Hi
I tried all, and the Best as per my experience is Miri.
1- Not a single button push or option made my TP2 freeze. Other ROMs made it freeze. In one of the ROMs, the "other" button in the manila settings page made it freeze every time i click it
2- Other ROMs have built in software that did not work. One of the ROMs had "Bluetooth explorer" and "bluetooth wizard", and none of those could switch on bluetooth !!!! My experience is based on flashing more than once
3- The only thing that lacks Miri is modifying the icons on the taskbar to make them more eye candy (bluetooth, wifi, battery, GSM, speaker,...)
Rgds
Raed
NRG might get the upper hand just because of his visuals.
Other then that, I think all is great.
udK rom....
Honestly speaking Miri's and B16B is the best ROM i ever tried. Well it depends on your requirements better try ALL and select which one is suitable for your TP2.
For me I'm still using the Shipped ROM + Hero Toch
I have to agree about the visuals, not only does NRG make a stable rom but its got everything you need pre loaded and looks fantastic, all other roms are still genius work, but still using NRG'S
On a serious note
The only ROM's I would use are my ROMs or NRG's ROMs. At least we do something creative with our ROMs and not just package up OEM crap.
How about getting a little orginal and also learning how to port a build instead of using the OEM sys. Oh yeah that is too much work without asking for help and then dropping people once you get what you want

Porting a ROM is not an easy thing!...I know exactly what u mean...
You'll notice that there aren't a lot of "which rom is best" threads, because they're terribly subjective and often lead to a lot of bickering. As such, it's standard policy to close these types of threads.

This will be closed very fast. Been asked many times but usually what works for me may not for you so really a personal choice thing. Try a few and see for yourself.
Goodluck.
I was in the same situation as you a few months back - I got pointed in the direction of a Dutty ROM by a work colleague, and I ended up trying a few EnergyROMs before settling with Topix which I reckon is very quick, but maybe not everyone's cup of tea.
So to pretty much mirror what BlueAnt said, only you can decide if a ROM is good for what you use your phone for.
I like Miri's ROMs because they are mostly 'clean' - it's up to me what applications/settings I put on, if any.
Everybody knows!!!
Everyone knows that Miri is the best (speed + smoth + stock) rom and Xannytech the most kind and complete, but nobody likes to say it to keep other chefs trying good roms ...

Hello
I'm from Brasil and bought my HD in France in the end of 12/2008.
Since then I'm flashing ROMs - most from Duttys.
The last one I flashed and still using is Leo Holy Grail R0 - Dutty's last rom for HD.
I starterd this trhead hopping to know if there is any new ROM that may worth the time of flashing again, as I think most of the guys here and like my self are flash addict .
I've been reading some posts and I'm intend to flash from Miri and Laurentius.
What do you guys think about these two ROMs and compare to Duttys??
Thanks again to everyone.
Miris roms fast stable
Xannytech fully with features and fine stablety
I recomend XannyTech GridEvo 2.4 21885.
Its really good..
Just test..
No such thing as best rom. Everyone has different tastes. I suggest you read a few threads and then try a few roms to make your own conclusion on which is best for you
Thread closed.
So what do you guys think is the most stabel rom at the moment in 6.5.
Or the most stable rom in any version
I think XannyTechRom is now the stabilytiest rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=594151
The most stable ROM can be found by using "Search" and "Reading" before posting.
However , you could start off with Miri's as it is close to stock and try everything else before you conclude whats best for you.
PS : All ROM's are stable.

This really gets asked alot and is pretty much a waste of time. This will get closed fairly quickly as it should be.
Asking what is the most stable or best rom usually ends up in endless & pointless bickering.
The best answer is the one that you find most works for you. Search, read the different rom threads and see what parts of them you like. Read up some more then flash a few and use them for a few days so you get the feel and experience of them. You will eventually find one that has all that you are looking for.

It depends on how you want to describe "stable".
Most of the ROM's i try here are really good. But it really depends on what your looking for. Sometimes i want Eye candy, and sometimes I just want my ROM to be very responsive and bug free with the things I normally use.
Then again its subjective from person to person.
And pointless threads leads to pointless discussions , lol
Just my 2 cents.
Waiting for this to be closed.

good advice... the problem is, that we have a umpteen of different ROMS and - thats most tiring - a bazillion of replys to the particular threads. How could you extract valuable information out of that bunch of information?
so, in my opinion, that thread here is absolutely justified. But on the other side I have absolutely no idea, how to find a answer to that question.
cheers
The point here is, "You will never know unless you try it yourself," especially if you spend your time asking others, waiting and hoping.
Read threads, explore and experiment is the best advice we all can give you as everyone's preference can be different then yours.
.....threads like this don't last long for the purposes mentioned above so before it closes I would like to say Good luck and happy Flashing.
I understand where you are coming from, there is a hell of a lot of reading through various forums to try and work out what is the best for you. ( I also have found the search function takes quite a while to dig through to find what u want)
Recently I have been after fast/"stable" rom, running a WM6.5 rom with sence 2.5. I'm am not a serial flasher, as i try and find a good rom and stick with it for a many months. (Was a big fan of Dutty's when he cooked for the HD)
I choose the below (easy to find in the rom section)
[ROM][WWE][Feb.13.10] Topix 3.5.4 [Sense 2.5.2012][5.2.21891][ONLINE]
and I run version 1.14.XX.XX radio.
There are a few small bugs but nothing major or impact most peoples phone usage,
Main bugs are
Java won't run (bypassable by a cab)
Slight issue when editing a txt (still researching a fix)
Possibly problem keeping a proxy setting (no research done yet)
I beleive facebook also needs some patching but i dont use it so have not tried, but again there is a cab to fix it
.
I have added added a small amount of bling, being
"Brians WM6.5 taskbar (v5b)" for a coloured taskbar
and
"driverpack signed 2010" to increase video speed
I also have a heap of games plus some apps and utilities (eg clean ram, Tom Tom, coreplayer, mobipocket etc)
It runs very well and I have had no stability issue's. It's fine on the battery too unlike some.
I highly recommend it. (This is a fairly new rom version so it is possible that other problem may occur but it is from a good cook)
Difficult to answer this is why these kind of posts get stopped...
But It all depends on what you use your device for, I for one need lots of free memory as I run some heavy GPS software and other applications at the same time, most of the Sense 2.5 loaded roms are way to bloated, they look nice and are great for basic use, but once you start really pushing the device which this device can handle, its just it seems all this fuss about a bit of graphical weather and a book reader that is far inferior to most applications out there, is beyond me...WM6.5.5 I find very nice, especially the new calendar finger friendlyness, I find I don't use the sense calendar as I can quickly cut and paste etc..within the built in calendar, music player I find Nitrogen far superior to the HTC one, image viewer well there can be only one and thats Rescos.
I can see what HTC are trying to do with Sense, but its based on having an extremely powerful system ie..HD2. so I would recommend a basic rom
I've stayed away from anything Manilla for months now. I was tired of a sluggish interface. However I was thinking about giving it another shot to see what our fantastic chefs were able to do it it. So in everyone's opinion what is currently the FASTEST 2.5 rom out there that uses the WM 6.5.5. Any input would be much appreciated.
Oh and another thing I was curious about. Another reason I stopped using it was because it didn't really cooperate well with Iconsoft Phonex. Does anyone know if they clash still? (One example of a problem i had was HTC favorite contacts wouldn't go through to place a call when clicking a contact)
thanks
opinion here

best
I am asking for speed, that is something measurable. I remember people would ask these all the time and quite often there was a general consensus like "Try Touch X Final. Its super fast!" or "Oh man! spikegotti's UnOff series is the best!"
So i was just wondering if there was a specific ROM that most people had more success with than others. If you don't have an answer or are annoyed by the thread I am sorry, but no one is forcing you to post an answer. I was just looking for anyone that had legitimate input. I'd prefer not to completely waste two days flashing every single ROM only to find out that i still dont really like manilla
Well, then do some research on your own. You know, users talk about how they felt the speed is like in threads of different roms. Have a look what rom appeals to you and then read some comments...would not be bad, would it?
I agree with other people, but I would also advice to start your searching from Valkyrie TR 6.0.28232
Try Valkyrie's rom. In my opinion it's fast, stable and you have all needed applications preinstalled
To help your case:
click the link in my signature. There are pretty good, fast, stable and bug-less roms on that blog. Also you could try blaze or valkyries like it has been mentioned already.
So except Valkryie is there another ROM that has Sense 2.5 and stable...Thanx a TON!!
I've just installed this one

Touch-IT BR 21893
I've flashed this one awhile ago and its working perfectly for me. So fast and stable but i disabled HTC messaging, u can search for the cab here in the forum... Cheers!
Go for Rotastrain's Blaze!
It's fast and stable, and any bugs are usually dealt with immediately.

Does the battery drain, also do u have the SOD(Phone freezing after sleep mode) and more than that, is it stable??
I genuinely recommend NRG's Energy Leo 23541 build - i've been using it for just over a week and it is simply amazing; with all my own apps added to the plethora of USEFUL apps already installed, it still flies along at top speed.
Note: Best practise is always to flash the ROM, then hard reset (Press the reset button whilst holding down the two front buttons under the screen) - this ensures best speed/stability!
See the ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562935
Baring in mind i'm a tight b****rd; i have actually donated for this ROM. That says something!!

Hi,
My battery doesnt drain any faster with this ROM installed I get normal battery life.
Not sure about hte SOD issue you speak about.. if you mean does the phone freeze after I've unlocked the screen lock then no I generally havent experianced any freezeing on the phone since installing this ROM so basically I find it very stable.
I use my phone constantly and find even the AT&T stock ROM is not stable. I reboot nearly every day which in itself wouldn't be a problem if I could just reboot in the morning and forget it. However, randomly the ROM gets very very slow and I have to reboot and nearly always just when I need it. I don't need a lot of flash or extras though a little speed boost would be nice. I can install the few extra applications that I need. What I really need is a good, stable ROM.
Any suggestions?
There are lots of good ROMs here. But everyone uses their phone differently. Try one out and see how it goes for you.

Mod seem to close these questions very quickly.
But I like to say that I have tried them all and seem to always revert back to Josh's 1.7 (with Sense 2.1) which can be found here....
http://f1ip.net/Downloads/RhodiumFiles/Roms/Joshkoss/1.7_Full_Final.7z
Thanks but ...
I appreciate your input steviewevie but I am doing something not everyone here does ... actually looking for some opinions.
Josh 1.7 Or Jackos OldSchool
I've tried pretty much every GSM ROM out there for my TP2. The most stable with the most available RAM and fastest speed goes out to Jackos Old School 1.1 ROM without a doubt.
I think there should be a new monthly thread poll open for the 1st week of every month with this exact question.
I can understand how the veterans get sick of this and clutter up things.
On the other hand, I can appreciate having the information available. It is frustrating to search and only find locked threads.
Please mods, take me up on this idea, or at least some version of it.
I wish I had time to flash 10 different ROMs to see which is most stable and fits my needs. Let's leave that up to the people that have time, and allow them to summarize their findings via a regular poll.
Thank you
I find my ROM to be quite stable.
I should release it one of these days.
Would you like to be my exclusive BETA tester?
Deep Shining very good.. Ive tried them all
Deep shining is a very good ROM.. I've tried em all .
I have tried just about every cook and i would have to say eras2r makes the most stable ROM for the rhodium.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=585403
This is the only ROM that i have flashed that never crashes or freezes EVER. i have been using bug free windows mobile for almost a year now
Personally, I find EnergyROM to be my favourite. I know you don't want loads of extras but EnergyROM is very very smooth and looks very nice and then you have those extras to play around with when you get bored!
I have been using Energy with Cookie HomeTab 28th May 2010 verison, and works very well.
Very fast rom, even loads and runs Copilot8 without issues, which is more than the HTC 6.5 rom did.
I agree. Mods, why not put up a mini site with a list of ROMs available - such as a "marketplace" and then let users rank and comment with feedback. I've spent a week searching through all of this trying to figure out which way to go. I can't just flash a ROM, get it all customized, then 2 weeks later do it again. I actually have to use the phone to work. At the very least this would allow people to rule out certain ROMs based on their needs.
Ranking a ROM is so objective... Some users expect features, others speed and all the all business users a reliable ROM is a must. Maybe there should be a "stars-voting" system that allows the user to vote for speed, stability, futures, eye-candy etc.?
Anyway I think that a pinned thread with a ROM index would be enough. Just a basic info + developers comment.

I'm not sure that would help, each entry would be the same:
Content: "list of contents"
Comment: "Best ROM out there - ever"
The contents would change, but the comments wouldn't!
Yeah, because people are too cocksure. I would never call my rom "better" or even "the best". I thought about the chief description as a short note what are goals for each rom.
Ach, and one screenshot would be nice too.

My comment was tongue-in-cheek, but honestly, wouldn't you want the Chef of your ROM to be working on having the absolute best ROM out there? Otherwise he/she would not have very much motivation. Think about it:
"Yup, my ROM is OK, but not the best"
Not a ROM I would try...
So make sure you never try my roms
I think that a rom is a personal combination of programs/skins that fit the chief. But that's just my thought
I saw a guy that said something like that: "Asking on xda what's the best rom is like going to a bar and asking with beer is the best". Different persons, different ROM experiences All about taste.

Hi,
I am a newbie when it comes to smartphones and the rest. And this is exactly why I'd like to know what is/are the best ROM(s) on Touch Pro 2.
I'm currently using Windows Mobile 6.5.
The criteria should be:
- Visual effects
- Responsiveness (speed)
- Ease of use
- Minimal usage of the RAM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562773
this coming also from a newbie, which is using this ROM for a couple of months now. good luck!
There is no "best" ROM. It depends on your individual needs and preferences. Many people here generally frown upon questions like this, because its an insult to the hard work that the chefs do to create the custom ROMs, to recommend one over the other.
At the risk of contradicting myself a bit, I know the choice can be overwhelming for n00bs. So I will just briefly mention my personal experience. I used Energy for a long time, tried Deep Shining, and simplicity is my current favorite. But that doesn't mean that other ROMs are not great also. Valkyrie and Jackos also get lots of good response on these forums.
Thank you very much! I'll read through right away!!!
Oops! I didn't know I was trespassing. However, thank you for understanding me. I'll further my research using the names of ROMs you've given me. Thank you once again!
The fastest ROM I've ever tried was OndraSter's TouchFlo 3D ROM. Its probably the fastest ROM for the TP2.

Try the JackOS ROM, i'm a fan! It's stable as a rock and he added OCT, so your phone is overclocked to 710Mhz by default.
He is a perfectionist as he wants to minimize memory leaks (read: low mem usage).
I can really recommend his roms
Grtz,
FeareX
I too am new to Windows Mobile and found my ATT Tilt 2 a bit slow.
I've HardSPLed my phone, loaded all the different ROMS from NRG and after running them for quite some time, and screwing with them found that there are things left out that only the stock ROM provides....as in:
GPS
keyboard functions even after loading the keyboard fix it will not retrack.
Widgets that go missing after you have set them up....
Little things.....
I went back to the upgraded ROM form HTC.
I would suggest the same....
There's crudscraper which will free up some space and a couple of cabs that will give you 16 quick links and contacts but.......
I would suggest loading the basic HTC rom and purchasing SPB Shell.
Quite frankly, IT WORKS.
Later....
Go find the ROMs Wildchild builds. They are like stock ROMs but MUCH MUCH more stable and fast. Lean and mean. Link in my sig.
My 2 cents. Tried many over extended period of time from:
- simplest eras2r (but one of the most solid-like-a-rock with a good battery and performance) to
- Energy's huge variety of choices
- Wild Child's
- Simplicity's (was not very simple for me, had a couple of stability issues)
- etc. etc. etc.
Has never had a chance to actually try Jackos's. Just now tried Jackos's full s2 ROM. Flying, tons of storage and program memory, right programs, right layout for me. If this baby is stable, not sure will ever look for something else.
My personal opinion go with latest Jackos ROM, OndraSter did also meke some good ones, but no sense ...
I guess there really isnt too much to say anymore but just to try them all... The only thing i do suggest is making sure you do the "task 29" ( forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=649191) between flashes just so u know ur getting the most purity from all ur roms. Different roms offer different things and as u go through there post the objectives of the roms. Another thing i suggest you try is, getting a rom like Jackos S2, disabling sence from the options and trying the android prj. But at the end of the day u find the rom that fits u!
What ROM cooked with Maxsense would you suggest to a newbie like me?
