Suspend OFF(first) and ON again, automatically - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

Hi, I am starting a new thread with this issue, because my friend Google couldn't help me much and I hope that maybe somebody would know the answer.
Is there any software to suspend the device and to turn it back on immediately (all into one link, to switch off, then back on, automatically)?
This would be good for re-activating the swipe areas when using Touch Lock Pro, when they loose their receptivity (it happens occasionally). For right now, the solution I have is to press the power button twice, once to suspend, and secondly, to bring the screen back on.
If I had a software to do automatically both moves, with one click on the screen (so the screen would turn off and on again), that would make it much more easy, and no need to overuse the hard button.
thank you very much for any suggestion

Tilt Annoyance

Hello all,
I just got my AT&T Tilt and love it so far, except for one major annoyance. When I press the power button, the device will turn the screen back on after a few seconds to a few minutes. The problem is when it's in my pocket, it can accidentally call people. My 8125 and 8525 did not experience this issue.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Button lock
It sounds as though the phone isn't set to lock all buttons except the power button when it is in standby. This happened to me last time I re-flashed my Wizard, and I couldn't figure out for ages why my battery was draining so quickly as well!
Settings > Buttons > Lock
Hmm, not seeing any option under Buttons or Lock. I do remember this setting from WM5. It does appear, however, that the buttons are not turning the phone on, it's just waking up even if I leave it on a desk.
You can add lock to the home screen
first press and hold the hang-up button so that it locks. Then just push the power button once. This puts it in standby.
There is a idle timeout for going on standby mode, but I can't find a setting to auto-lock.

Are you paired to a Bluetooth device? I see similar behavior in my 8525 when in my car - the BT car kit does stuff which "wakes" the 8525

Try this leaving Google Maps On the Screen
Hi Guys,
I get this behavior when I have Google Maps running. It will even cycle the screen on and off a couple times.
nope and nope. just sitting on the today screen.

I have the very same problem.
However, my girlfriend whom I also bought a Tilt for, her's doesn't do it.
We've installed all the same software too, so I'm a little puzzled.
start>settings>system> key lock. set it to lock all buttons except power.

Hmmm.. yeah, umm my key lock is already set to lock all buttons except power.
The problem isn't with when you press a button it comes on. The problem is the phone turns on by itself, sitting on a table, nothing being pressed, no new email, no new sms, just lights up and that's it.

Any number of applications might be starting the device, from weather apps to calendar, diary, time sync etc etc. For example, HTCs weather app will do it depending on how often you have it set to another example I came across from someone was TREO ALERTS that contains a script "refresh.mscr" and it was set up refresh time 30 seconds (this was turning his TyTn II on by itself).

hard reset and try again.
i'm betting that none of these suggestions were helpful (except the one about some application generating a wakeup event without any other visual notifications).
i was having the same problem, but i just tried to narrow down which running program was causing the events. it's one of:
* wireless manager
* messaging
* IM
my guess is IM; i'm going to test that out in a second.
well, it's none of the above. still seems to wake up randomly anywhere from 15 seconds to several minutes.
seems to happen more frequently when it's just been turned off.
Even if you were to find what was turing the phone back on, this can still be a problem just from normal use... obviously, you WANT the phone to turn on for things like a call coming in. The solution for people like us who stick our phones in our pockets is to "lock" the phone. But for whatever reason, the Tilt doesn't lock the phone while holding down the end key. That means the only convenient way to lock it is to keep the lock function on the today screen, wasting space. Hopefully someone can find a way to allow the end key to lock the device on the Tilt just like the unbranded device.

i'm fine with using the lock function, but it still turns on randomly, using battery, and eventually unnecessarily yellowing the screen from backlight aging. my next approach is to check out the notification queue, using a notification cleaner app.
So i am having a similar problem. When i press the power button, the phone's screen turns off but when the keyboard slides, it turns back on... is there a way to make it so the keyboard sliding does not turn on the device? I think the keyboard slides around a little when in my pocket and i hate pushing 3 buttons to unlock my phone... thanks
I was having the same problem.
This is an issue with the ATT rom. Flash over HTC rom and you will be all set.
I have been having the same problem as well. I just installed this DeviceLock program:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=305402
If you enable the "Lock on Wake" option, the device will be locked when it wakes up, so the backlight stays off and you won't call anyone by accidentally hitting buttons.
Also, I ran across this related thread you might want to check out (basically talking about the same thing, but for the TyTn II):

Screen Issues after phone calls...

Hi, I tries searching for the solution to this by the "symptoms", and nothing came out, sorry to open a new thread for my own doubt but...
Whenever I make a call longer than 30 sec (which is when the screen dims down), after the call ended (either by me or the caller hanging) the screen stays dimmed down, and for some reason the everything in the Start Menu bar (except the task manager) is unresponsive through touch. The rest of my today screen still responds to touch or d pads, both on screen softkeys work. The start menu is only accessible with the default win button.
The only way I have found to correct this is by pressing the power button twice (going to standby and back). It's not a huge deal, but it is somewhat frustrating.
Any ideas or fixes?
Thanks in advance =)
EDIT: I'm using stock rom and HTC Dialer.
btw, anyone else having this issue?
I also have this issue but no solution (or i can't find the solution) till now. I think it is the bug in this ROM version so hope new ROM will solve this issue.
It´s a well known bug that has been discussed many times......
It happens when you´ve set a device password and your screen turns off during a call.
Solution 1:
Don´t set a device password
Solution 2:
When the above happens, turn the screen off and then on again (2 quick pushes on the power button) and you should be back in bussiness.
Solution 3 (the one I´m using):
if your exchange server enforces the password on your device (you can´t easily turn it off): install a small cab called StayUnlock (do a quick search, it´s either here or over at www.modaco.com), which will automatically disable your password everytime it´s enforced by your exchange server.
Thanks Michi! Step 1 did the trick, I don't need a pswd on my device anyways. XD
When your new it's hard to follow up or search and find stuff when there is SO MUCH information in here.
Thanks again =)

Diamond not waking up from sleep properly

I have had a search around, but cannot find anything useful, I hope someone can help me, this is my only problem with the Diamond now!
Sometimes after the phone goes to sleep, it does not wake up properly. I have the phone set to switch the screen off after a delay and to autolock at that point as well. All has been fine with that except in the last few days sometimes when I try and bring the phone out of this sleep mode, it doesnt work.
Geneally I will press the centre button and the phone comes to life and I tap unlock and I am away. However, sometimes now only the top bar where the start button is will appear. The HW buttons light up, but the rest of the screen does not come to life and whatever I do, I cannot get it to come back. I can press the power button and it will go to sleep again and then when I try and wake it, exactly the same problem occurs. Only a soft reset will solve it - far from ideal.
Can anyone help please?

Power button not working right on HTC Diamond

Hi, I cleaned the screen of my HTC Diamond with a bit of alcohol and a pice of tissue and it seems that the alcohol got inside of the Power button. Now, every time I try to turn the screen on by touching the power button, it turns the screen on but it dispays a message that says: "Warning: Power will be turned off and you may lose data if you have not saved them. Do you want to continue?"
If I click YES, it reboots the phone, If I click NO, then its ok. That is fine, but the problem is when I want to turn the phone off. It's impossible. It will keep trying to reboot.
Does anybody know what can I do? I am really worried.
One solution could be to make some other button from the phone to act as the power button (like the Home button that is rarely used). How can I do that?
Please help!!!!
Thank you
Hi,
I have the same problem.
Did you already find an answer ?
No, I didnt find the solution. I tried to fix the hardware but didnt succeed. So, I created a dummy file to emulate the poweroffwarning.exe that pops up when you long press the power button.
Solution
Hello, I have one AT&T TITL 8925 that upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.5
After the new software was loaded I saw same behavior on my phone.
When the phone is ON and I pressed the power button sometimes it do not respond, and others I received the warning message "power will be turned off and you may lose data if you have not saved them..." My first tought was that it is because the processor is slow to this new software release, or maybe my phone is damaged. I was working perfectly with previous (light version) release so my final guess is that this sw requires more uses of the processos.
Anyways what I have been doing is before turing it off I press the red button or hang up button, and after this if I press the power button it works fine (No more warnings). I have some theories but I will keep doing the same
Hope this partial solution helps you as it does for me.
Regards
Jerry
this is not working for me :| the problem is i can't use my power button not even to open my display when it goes to sleep :|:| i don't know what to do guys please help me
You can use the Stylus to awake the phone, instead of using the power button. You can also use TouchLockPro, to suspend the device, so you do not need the power button for that too.
Also you can set the phone to awake on pressing any key (Windows Mobile Setting), but be sure to have a good locking tool, which makes sure you do not have bogus calls and it goes to sleep again fast enough, otherwise it will drain battery.
I have the same problem.
Anyone solved this one?
I have the same issue and this is not a hardware problem. Strange since even updates/changes of the rom do not correct the issue. Did anybody find a solution for this...?
Well.. ive had this problem just ones.. I was walking downtown with my diamond in the frontpocket of my jeans (face down), after about 3min. of walk, it started to rain (big drops), and my clothes got completely wet, i turned around emidietly, to walk back to home. When i got home after 3 more min. i layed the phone on the table, and then i could hear there were somethibg wrong.. The "turn off" sound came, and the notification kept on coming up, even though i pressed No, as if i were just holding the power button down.. Then i began to press the power button continuesly for about a 100 times, and to my surprise then it stopped and have functioned perfectly for about 2 month now.. Something tells me theres some serius promlem with the smallest kind of moisture near the power button on this phone..
Yes this is hardware related.
If you take a look at the inside of the powerbutton, there are 2 points making contact when you press the button.
If you press it, the software will recognize this and the screen will turn off.
If you press it long enough you'll get the "Do you want to turn off your device" message.
But, if water gets underneath the button, the 2 points may be making contact, because water/alcohol conducts.
In this way you'll get that message.
The button is very weak. Due to this, it may not properly work if you have used it for a long time.
I think that could also be a reason why you constantly get that message.

Hi! on one of my diamond, the power button off from the board. So the black little board with the button itself is not part of the complete circuit anymore... if someone know the hw testpoint for that it would great please.... i see a few TP around, but if i just start sorting them i just going to kill it...I use to flash phones with TP so is not new for me , but i find nothing for diamond.
I have a similar issue. Mine seems like it is almost stuck on, so it wakes its self up all the time, meaning a full charge lasts an hour or two. Then when it runs out of battery it tries to switch itself back on, so goes through a continuous cycle of vibrating and beeping until the battery is removed. The gf finds it very annoying at 3am lol.
Don't recall mine getting wet, but it's possible it could have got damp at some point, but it's been doing this now for about 3 weeks.
Tried a hard reset with no luck.

I think I should send it to HTC, and ask them to do it. Or go to a repair centre. But I should not try it myself, because it can be dangerous for the diamond.
Also try searching on ebay, there might be the parts you could use.
Good luck!
is there a way to remap the power button?
my diamond face same problem since this afternoon, arrrrgghhhh!!!

My Sony X1 have some strange problems with the power button. When it goes into sleep mode, I can not wake it up with the power button, all I can do is to soft reset. Sometimes it does not go into sleep mode either , it just "wake up" all the time. I don't know what's wrong with it, tried Hard reset but no use .
ANyone had this problems before?
@
The only way to solve this is to leave the phone near your laptop heat vent ( fan) . hot air from it might help you to get the power button up and running. But if that to doesn't work then i'm afraid thats bad.
Current sol :
1. download SU2U ( search threads )
2. go to the settings and make the " lock when stylus inserted" option ON
3. Change the screen turn off time to 5 secs..
So , to unlock , remove stylus , to lock -> insert it back ( its turns off the back light within 5 sec )
Less annoying

[Q] [REQUEST][App] Global screen dim time out

Hi everyone!
Has anyone found a way (maybe an app?) to change the screen backlight/lock behaviour?
What I'm looking for is the following behaviour:
Ability to have the screen only turn off the backlight after a certain amount of time, with
a) option to lock the device at the same time
b) option to also turn off the part of the screen that reacts to touch at the same time
c) options to set the timers for the aforementioned options separately
Basically I want the device to turn off the screen after 30 seconds to save power, but stay responsive to touch so that I don't need to pick up the device and press the power button before I can use it.
Then, after about 5 minutes, it should lock itself but respond to touch, so that it can be unlocked without needing to press the power button.
Then, after another five minutes, the screen should completely go off and stop responding to touch altogether (the way it is on Android by default).
Has anyone found a way to do this? It would be REALLY useful for when you've got the phone laying flat on your desk and are IM'ing with a slow typer, meaning you've got 2 or 3 minutes between each message, and need to press the power button every time you get one...
It shohuld be a default setting in my opinion...
Thanks in advance!
