Can someone help me out my G1 is rooted and im having problem with my call waiting, I cant hear where i get another call and when im done i have like 10 missed calls and never heard the dam sound lol..can someone explain thats to me...
Black T-Mobile G1
SPL: 1.33.2005
Radio: 2.22.19.26I
Rom: JACxROM v1.4
Recovery: Cyanogen's Recovery 1.4
The first thing to check is....
menu > settings > call settings > GSM call settings > Call waiting
make sure this is checked.
yeah i did that , its all checked out, you barely hear when someone call you..
hmmmmmm.
media volume, ring volume both all the way up.
You might try reflashing the latest radio, audio problems seam to be linked to the radio image.
yeah im going to check that out, you think it could also be, i have AudioHack you think that can cause the problem to? but im going to disable AudioHack and see.
are you running cyan 4.1.9.2?
this is what im running
Black T-Mobile G1
SPL: 1.33.2005
Radio: 2.22.19.26I
Rom: JACxROM v1.4
Recovery: Cyanogen's Recovery 1.4
Oh man i did it went and set factory set back on AudioHack and works..hmm weird now i need another app to make my sound louder..
Hey do appreciate your help thanks man
ok the reason I ask about what rom you are running is cyan has audiohack v7 integrated in all builds after 4.1.8. installing audiohack on these builds could possibly cause a problem, unlikely but possible. I don't follow the xRom series. check the change log and make sure audiohack isn't already in the rom.
yeah will do thanks for the info..

it moves slow now and cant make calls here nothing anymore. How can i fix this any clues. Any help appreciated
To elaborate a little.
I make a call and here no ringing whatsoever it then saiys connected I can't hear nothing. The person on the other end hears nothing as well as you can imagine. I did a hard reboot, cleared storage and everything. Still no luck. Everything else works and yes my provider is att and it is on the 3g network it stays on there. So I know its not losing connection. I can browse net send messages just cant call anyone but people who call me. Their info comes up on my phone but nothing when i connect to connect them.
You will want to flash a proper radio and a proper HardSPL. Both of those on your phone right now are hacked to allow you to unlock your phone, they are not meant to be used as an everyday radio or HardSPL.
I would recommend you start off with HardSPL 3.29hard2 by cmonex, and that you test a bunch of different radios... I have my best luck with 1.71.09.01eMo, but that is me, you might have a horrible reception with it in your area. Try reading the stickies in the Kaiser ROM Developement:
Radio:

HardSPL:

Wow I didn't even know I will try it when I get home I appreciate your help in this matter my friend.
Your welcome!
And you might want to follow this link for the HardSPL, it is newer and cleaner for the so easier to process.

Happy to hear! Glad I was able to help. If you like the WM6.5 stuff you might want to check out some with the newest WM6.5 core build, 21501. And yes, it is newer than 21510, which doesnt sound right, but that is how MS rolls sometimes.
hi forum. i have been looking around to solve this problem but i wasn't able to find a solution yet so i am asking here.
i had a tilt working great, i had an accident and the phone is destroyed so i get another one.
it is the same phone but it just don't have the camera, this one came with a new version of windows mobile(6.1).
i am now having this issue, when i get an incoming call and i answer i can't hear anything from the other side and the other side can't hear me either.
after that, the phone gets totally muted, it don't make any more sound when sliding or whatever.
the only way to fix it is reboot the phone, that way i get sound again but after i get an incoming call the problem happens again.
the problem wasn't happening if i made the call but today i made a long call and after a while talking i got a constant buzz, the buzz only stopped after i turned off the phone.
any help will be apreciated as i am totally lost here.
thanks.
Have you tried flashing a different radio or a different ROM?
talking with my vendor it seems that he flashed the rom and maybe the porblem can be the radio.
i am reading here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393182 but i dont have idea wich radio should i download and either how to make the installation.
my device information is:
ROM version: 3.57.502.2 WWE
Rom date: 07/17/2008
Radio Version: 1.70.OliNex
Protocol Version: 25.65.30.04H
so maybe the radio is not compatible with the rom and that is why i am having issues with the sound ?
That is a possibility. The nice part about flashing radios is that they are completely independent from the ROM. When you flash a radio it won't flash or reset your device. Therefore, you can flash and test as many radios as you want without any real negative side-effects Just stick with the one that ends up working the best for you!
Digital Outcast, thank you for your help.
do you think you or someone can point me to a tutorial to flash the radio only ?
i am finding how to update the rom but not the radio only.
thank you again.
To flash the radio follow the same steps as flashing the ROM. You need only the radio (.nbh file) and the Kaiser Custom RUU. Just don't do a hard-reset or anything after it completes!
cool, i installed a new radio and it fixed that problem, i am checking other common features of the phone, for now everything seems to be fine.
thank you very much for your help
Problem with incoming call
I have exactly the same problem and the same versions of software and firmware. Which version of the radio firmware did you install? Where did you get it? This is my first use of a smart phone and don't know much at all about where to get this.
Thanks!!

Start by reading the stickies. Always best place to start. Or if you are lazy and wish to just jump to radios use this >link<. But I definitely recommend you read all the stickies before flashing a device for the first time. Just start with the newest radio and work backwards til you find a good one for your device.
I want to put a new ROM on my fresh ADP. Do I need to put a new radio on before I update to HardSPL?
This thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532719
seems to suggest I might need to, but this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=455860
doesnt mention it.
How can I find out, or is there a simple yes / no ?
Thanks.
If it is hardspl then no you don't need the new radio. If its the new danger spl then yes. But it is a good idea to update your radio anyways.
Thanks.
danger SPL sounds like i might want to leave it alone...
If I was going to update the radio anyway then is the one in the linked noobs guide above the one? Or are there options? Ive had a dig and although its easy to find the SPLs and Roms and other guides, I havent seen much about radios.
flash the radio http://sapphire-port-dream.googlecode.com/files/ota-radio-2_22_19_26I.zip
without flashing a new radio then bluetooth will not work in then new rom
Thanks for the help everyone. Thats awesome.
er.... is there a way to check if it worked and what radio it's using? It seemed to be so quick I'm not sure if it can have been right?
It only showed the unpacking animation with the open box and the status bar for like a quarter of a second... and then it went back to the triangle with the exclamation mark in it.
I did Home + back to reboot and its loaded up fine all working. But no clue if it did anything...
To check is real easy,
Look under settings> About phone>
It is listed in the Baseband Version. If it ends in 26I you are all good.
Yea its a small file so it won't take long at all to flash. Sounds like it worked.
Thanks guys.
I used the radio marked as most recent:
ota-radio-2_22_19_26I
Baseband version on my phone says:
62.33.20.08H_1.22.12.29
Doesnt end in 26I... Just spotted that radio is shown in fastboot screen and it lists the old one as well.
Odd.
Wierd, It is a small file and shouldn't take long to flash.
You are definitly on the old radio still.
After you update it should tell you to push a key combination to apply the radio.
Turns out my update.zip was called update.zip.zip ... oops. So it hadnt done anything.
Fixed that and the radio update took a few secs and is working fine. Its listed correctly now as you said it would be in the settings / about screen.
Thanks again for the help folks.
No problem. Might want to show extensions on your pc so it don't happen again.
I searched around the forums (LOVE THEM!) and couldnt find the answer so I figured it was okay to ask the question
The notification light on my G1 never turns off, it's always set to show the battery status instead of blinking with a missed call/txt/whatever
ideas?
please post your current ROM, Recovery, SPL, Radio, whether or not you use apps2sd...and anything else that we may need to know to diagnose your problem. Thanks...

This happened even on the stock rom, after I wiped everything clean and rooted... and when I flashed the newest Cyanogen
I've looked around and found no mention of this issue anywhere on any forum that I saw
T-Mobile G1
ROM: Cyanogen 4.1.999
SPL: Hard SPL
Radio: ... I havent touched this? Im not evne too sure what it is, so im assuming default/stock ota? how do I check
Recovery: RA-dream-v1.2.3

if you dont know... you should update to the 26I radio
it can be found in the bootloader (cam+power)
for the us g1, last two digits are usually 29 or 26. (26 is the latest)
you can also find this info in the about phone section in settings under baseband
if its happening on the stock rom too, its probably a hardware issue. you wouldnt happen to have any apps that would mess with this setting, would you?

yup I had the 26... what exactly is the radio?
but yea, It happens all the time when im flashing, when im in the spl... whenever
the radio manages all the wireless stuff in the phone such as the phone itself, bluetooth, wifi..etc
it also calls the spl, which loads the whole phone up
if its happening all the time, its a hardware issue and you should contact tmobile and see if they replace it. if so, unroot your phone before sending it in
im thinking this has to be some sort of software issue because it works for battery/charging/whatever... and apps can have their notification pop up over the steady green light
well then its an app. go back to complete stock and see if the problem persists. remove all your applications, and go to the stock RC29 image, update to 1.6 OTA and see if it still happens.....
does the light stay on in the recovery (Home+power) or bootloader mode (cam+power) when your phone is not charging? if it does.....its a hardware problem

BTW! You want to update your radio / SPL to 27.08 (radio) and 13d (SPL) Your current SPL/radio will not work with this ROM. Also, after you flashed the ROM alos flash the 15MB boot behind it. Then your ROM will not get stuck at the splash screen.
MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE ROOTED YOUR PHONE!
DISCLAIMER: I am not responsilble if you bricked your G1.
What you want to do is to make sure you have Amon RA Recovery loaded first.
copy everything into your root SD card. (IE: SPL, radio, ROM and the 15MB-root).
Boot into RA Recovery.
Flash radio and SPL.
Flash the ROM.
Flash 15MB-boot.
Reboot and wait until your phone finish loading.... (DO NOT TAKE OUT YOUR BATTERY)
Enjoy!
Thanks!!! thouth once stuck at the splash img ,i now have updated it successfully!
lot to do ,ha,thanks again .
You're welcome. Let me know the outcome of the flash.
You'll love this ROM like I do, only one thing about this ROM (but I can live with it) is that the coder is from Spain (or that area), and I think he accidentally hardcode some of the thing in his language in the setting area. But the words are understandable.
internal storage:58MB free ,33MB used
running ram:28MB free
no swapon
how comes this ? any thing wrong? by the way,the input method i installled sometimes don't work well, any solutions?
Hmm, did you run all the flash including the 15MB-boot file? Try to run that again. Also what radio do u have as of now?
Also, go to setting >> SupSetup >> Options >> App2SD and LinuxSwap
You can adjust the steeing in that area to your liking. Some of them will make you reboot your phone.
You can activate App2SD and the Linux Swap in that area. There are a lot of Setting in the SupSetup that can optimize your phone. You'll have to play with it until you get the setting you like. Even with the default setting, it will be good.
I just picked another rom,for one reason,i found it a little unconvenience for me with my phone language as English,as i am from China.maybe i'll try it latter, thanks anyway
LOL! You are welcome, I do understand totally.

Thanks for your concern .It's just that for several times i have met this:for example, for some of the adw's settings and some other settings where there was a upper window ,it seemed not to display correctly, i had to open the keyboard to let the window show.maybe it was because the animination plugin(i did not know the English name),recently i turned off the animination and it turned out to be just ok .now everything seems to be fine .
Here is another question.the GPS never worked out,it probaly not about this ROM 'cause for the earlier ones the GPS did not work either(it just cannot find singnal ).i think it's the GPS modual's problem ,any sugguestions?
Sorry for the delay and thanks again for your concern .lol
It's not the ROM, I am pretty sure of. Personnally I turn GPS off, because I don't use it.
As far as the ADW, I suggested that you replace that with other Launcher (IE: Go Launcher EX, or LauncherPro) ADW seem to not work too well. But if you have that thing works the way you want then that is fine.
