Call/SMS counter application? - Hero, G2 Touch Themes and Apps

Does anybody know any nice application that counts the amount of the sent SMS and the total time of outgoing calls?
I think it would be a very useful application especially if we could give criteria (e.g. dates period or months).
Thanks in advance.

I use chompsms.. which is on the marketplace and counts sent sms

I use this Phonalyzr:
http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-phonalyzr-CiD.aspx
To get some really nice call statistics. But I also saw a new app that I did not try yet:
http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-chaks-logcall-qBzx.aspx

Analyze my calls is fine!
The only thing that it misses is date criteria.
By the way what's the name of the other application that you mention that is new?
And how about SMS counter? I tried ChompSMS but didn't like it. I would prefer to get all the info through a single application.

Call Meter NG is almost exactly what I wanted!

Novomobile Smartfilter Pro, or Photo Contacts (pocketx I think) will both do this based on criteria you set, you might also search the forum here for call firewall. That one is a freebie.
Search for callfirewall in this forum...
I have been using Magicall for some time now and love it. Able to block private numbers, send automated sms with individual messages to groups on your phone and even auto reply to sms's with individual messages to categories or certain contacts. Try it
yeah i also use call firewall, to narow down ur search try the development and hacking forum
SPB Phone Suite does provide blacklist/whitelist capabilities and reply with SMS (among other things).
It is a paid program, so if you're looking for free solutions, this isn't it.
Installed call firewall
free and not bloated with useless features
thanks everyone.
Afternoon !!!
I have a MDA Compact IV & I am looking for the best hopefully ( free ) tool to manage my calls & text messages.
Have previously owned Nokia's & Sony's I am used to being able to set up caller group's & set up profile's on my phones.
The Compact does not seem to allow you to do this !!
Is there a way of doing this I have over looked or a software package you would recommend?
Thanks

I was using that also. But if you are on a call when an rejected number comes in it will disconnect both calls.
I'm currently using magicall and it works great.
MagiCall is fantastic app.

CALL/SMS BLOCKER plus sms auto response

Call_SMS Blocker. I found this program the other day and I just wanted to share it with everyone. This app is amazing! I searched everywhere to find something like this. With this software you can COMPLETELY block both calls and sms. Also it will send an automatic sms on your behalf when your busy. Your probably saying, yeah well that new PowerSMS program can do auto sms replies. Well did I mention that this app not only sends auto sms replies to callers but also to friends who TEXT YOU!! I think I found only like 1 other app that could do that and it wasnt nearly as good as this one. Most other ones out there either only allow you to select "known numbers" or "unkown numbers" to reply to. Well with Call_SMS Blocker, you can totally customize the lists of people that will receive your auto reply. You can even make custom messages for each individual person instead of just 1 master message like many other apps.
The only bad things about this software though is that it does cost money and it is a little confusing on how to set it up. But once you figure this thing out it is very powerful and by far the best call blocker sms blocker and sms auto responder out there!
If anyone decides to get this app I would be more than happy to help you out with getting it up and running and figuring out the settings to do what you want it to do.
This was just one of the best apps I have found in awhile and I just wanted to let others know about it. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope this program can come in handy for others like it did me.
have you tried this on WM6? link says WM5
Yes it will work on WM6. I am using it on my stock Tilt WM6 pro and it works perfectly. See, under the Download/Buy section. It says its available for WM5/WM6.x
This looks brilliant - purchased
Right, purchased this yesterday and it's awesome.
I have an annoying issue with an alarm system (secom) at my workplace, and being a keyholder, I really can't be chewed with middle-of-the-night (false) callouts. Tried to use another app to set unknown numbers to use a silent ringtone, but that didn't help in the middle of the night because of the ensuing answerphone notification.
I don't like the thought of turning my phone off, or putting onto silent in case of real emergencies from people I care about D).
Anyhoo....
.. this app is perfect. Simulates an immediate 'hangup' to unknown numbers, effectively (a) stopping you hearing them call and (b) disallowing them the ability to leave an answerphone message.

Need Custom SMS/MMS Notification based on Contact

Hi.
I am a System Admin, as well as a member of a Rural Fire Brigade.
I need a way so that I can differenciate between different sources of SMS..
i.e. One contact is for missed pings to the servers - low priority, another is for servers down - higher priority, call out for the brigade - high priority and loud wake up tone
can anyone give me some advice on how to do this. I know I can do different ring tones for mobile calls but what about SMS contacts etc.
Many thanks for any help
Dave
I´ll need the same thing...
Once I used to have a sms chat software, but it corrupted messages often so I discontinued using it, I thing it was vito, but don´t remember
Well.. I don't know of any free solution for this.. but Electricpocket Ringo does this job very well.. it allows u to assing custom sms/ringtone to individual contacts and groups. No individual mms tone though..
maybe also magiccall will do what you are looking for
hey all~
i asked basically the same question recently. i was directed tot he freebie mortring, after fiddleing a lil (to make my own sounds work) i got it working pretty well
~j
hey all~
so i found what, in my opinion, is the best FREE text message (and call) custom tones program....
its called oist (google it as i don't have the link handy) and it allows you to set custom tones (wav format only) for:
calls
texts from unknown senders
texts from everyone
texts from specific numbers
sent text message tones
it can also forward sent notifications to another number
anyhows i tested a few different ones and this seems to work best!
~j
Still playing around with it, but I think oist will work.
Now I just have to make WAV files for everyone.
I found this also but does not work on my wm6.5 touch pro... I have version 1.4
am I doing something wrong?

Block unwanted sms

I am being terrorized by my provider who sends me 200 times a day the same sms and isn't able to stop that.
Is there any app or function to block unwanted sms?
If not, I'd pay 10 $ for anyone who can make a little app for me, in which i just enter a phonenumber, hit enter and never will notice anything of an sms coming from that sender...
thanks for your help!
Who is your provider? And they're telling you they can't stop their OWN messages from being sent to you?
it's a small german one and yes, they told me, they couldn't do anything to help me...
you should reply with sms barrage if you still have it. thats my answer to everything.
No i don't have that app and actually i also can't get the point, why i should sent spam to my provider...that is a mashine, no one will even notify me.
It was a joke...
Well... may anybody help me?

...id of done it lol
There is no app out there to block sms. If its from your provider and they say they won't stop it I would switch providers.
and i dont know if there ever will be, and if there is youll need root i bet
the reason i believe this (could be wrong) is that youd have to set all notifications off, and use a app to set notifications, and have it set to if a sms came in from a blacklisted number set by you, then it would not notify you, and then delete it. so in a sence youd still get it, but youd never know
thats the only way i think it would work properly, doesnt sound tooo difficult, but i dont know if there is really a demand for it, if your willing to pay 10 dollars to have it made, talk to androidandme.com, they have bountys for developers to make programs that are requested from users, the current bounty is for a full working quake port to android, they have over $200 going to the developer that makes it first, if they decided to set a bounty for it, and there are others who would like this program, than im sure you could gain some interest there
good luck man
Please try this below and report whether it is working or not as I don't own a android phone
I am still thinking about buying a HTC Dream if blocking of SMS work.
and btw this app is NOT writen by me.

block unwanted SMS
This utility seems pretty neat. I haven't tried it personally, since I'm not interested in a $20 app to do this:
EasyHelper SMS Security 2.2
handheld.softpedia DOT com/developer/EasyHelper-3934.html
"SMS Security can effectively filter all your incoming SMS messages without producing any sound or light indication. It can also hide and encrypt the secret SMS messages."
This would be helpful for those annoying friends who text in the middle of the night, or send useless junk. Also, the security feature sounds helpful for anybody who has something to hide.
Would you like to have a try aFirewall in market? It can block SMS prefectly. I am looking forward to your response. Any comments will be appreciated. Thank you very much.
You can blacklist people with the application chompSMS.

Block Outgoing SMS for android
I'm trying to find an app that will block outgoing SMS to a particular number. I've thought about trying to develop one myself but just reading how to is too complicated for me.
The way i see it the app could run a "if, then" style app. if the restricted number is detected then the app would disable the signal for a period of time (15s or 30s) and automatically delete the message. I'd like to make it password protected.
The reason i want to do this is because I text a few contacts on my phone way too often and would like to disable how often i do so. I've memorized the number so deleting the contact is not an option.

Postman is an Anti Spam application that lets you filter unwanted SPAM SMS.The application filters SMS and makes sure they don't appear in your inbox.
You can also configure the software to block messages from unknown senders or even create a trusted senders list.
Postman is available for Free from the Android Market. Please do check it out.
Thanks

I browsed few such apps but couldn't find answer to my question, which is - do these apps just prevent the spam/unwanted sms from appearing in the inbox; but I still have to pay for the text msg? Or do they save me the pain of paying for text I don't want to receive?

VM notification for Fido users of HTC Dream/Magic

Hi all,
I made a small android program that displays the Voice Mail Indicator when you receive a Voice Mail (it waits for the +18 sms). This is a simple proof-of-concept app. When I have time, I'll improve it by adding proper notification (Sound, Led, Vibrating...).
I am providing it as is, it works well on my phone. Feel free to post questions, comments, suggestions...
Might not hurt for you to explain what a "VM" is.
I'm assuming Voicemail.
He said it's a proof-of-concept app, like a more complex 'Hello World!' app. So probably not very useful, but just a skill test.
Interesting, so an icon or led when somebody leaves a message...
Seems to me that with phones the way they are now, that messages should be recorded on the phone itself rather than by the provider. I certainly wouldn't want private information stored on somebody's unknown server where they can mess with at their leisure.
To the OP:
How about counting (x configurable) rings, playing an outgoing message, and capturing incoming message for, (configurable) seconds? Then everybody can tell their provider's to f-off and save the $6/month that they're dumping into the answering service.
I apologize for the confusion, I should have been clearer. Fido users will understand what this app is for, but I can understand why others don't.
The situation is simple. With Fido, whenever someone leaves us a new VM (VoiceMail), we get an SMS from fido, with the source address being +18. I personally find this annoying and would much rather have the "normal" behaviour of having a status icon alerting me that I have a new voicemail. That way, I can quickly know if I received a new VM or a new SMS. With Fido, you actually have to check the SMS to see if it's a normal SMS or if it is the +18 notification that Fido sends.
So that's what my app does. It monitors incoming SMS and when it detects an SMS form +18, it gives the user a notification that a new VM has arrived, with the proper icon.
I hope that explains it better!
FYI: The acronym "VM" typically is used for "Virtual Machine".

I've always seen voicemail referred to as VM, just like callerid is referred to as CID. Anyways, that's just a detail and I made the modification in the first post.
Is it possible to have working this app. on HTC One S?

I don't know why you'd need it, every Android system since 1.0 can display Voicemail notifications. I believe some carriers, in the early days, didn't do this properly, which is why this app was created. Still, it shouldn't be needed today, your HTC One S should have this capability built-in and your carrier should be able to use it just fine.
