I believe some kaiser comes with GPRS Monitoring software. Check your bundle. Actually it's made by SPB but customized for Kaiser.
As usual, Google is your friend, and you can do a little search first. I did 'data monitor kaiser xda' and turned out the very program I used: SPB Monitor (which is the upgrade of GPRS monitor).
I use SPB Monitor since long time ago, work great. Can do calculation how much uyou have to pay for your connection too

Hello,
I'm wondering if there is any applications (free) that monitors EDGE / GPRS usage, and hopefully logs them aswell.
Had a tiny application "minimoni" for my blackberry and it really was great to know how much you actually used.
Cheers
Try Spb GPRS Monitor. It does exactly what you need. Monitors traffic, logs it and works perfectly with EDGE.
Make sure you download the latest version and also that it mentions "Spb" as well because simple GPRS Monitor (another application) doesn't seem to work properly on the Diamond (it loses all recorded data after soft reset).
or use second today together with battery status.

Its a good application but not free
Hello,
Yes, it is free. It comes with the Diamond.
Philippe
Hum... Depends who sold you the diamond apparently! I bought mine from Orange France, and on the CD that came with it, I have a folder called "Additional Applications" .... but it's EMPTY If someone could PM me to help me out here, that would be great!
free from orange
thats a 1st!
Free from Orange? In the UK? Where?
Oh, and will this application monitor all usage? I.e. GPRS, 3G, HSPDA etc.? Sorry if that's a stupid question.
Hi i've got my diamond for a few days an now my mobile bill explode, because i've opened googlemaps application, wich dowloads in 10 min. ca. 5 mb mapsmaterials. So my bill is going huge.....I thought, that my Diamond will aks me, when it use the mobile service to connect to the i-net. But it did'nt, so i need held.
I'm looking for a program, which ask me everytime when my mobilephone will connect to the i-net with the mobileconnection, if i want this or not....or better which way to connect it should use(when WiFi is aviable)???
So does anybody know of a program like this....or could write it...?
looking forward
Carriers always like that because you get billed without knowing it. Use Modaco Nodata to block internet usage. Call the carrier and say you didn't know and they will probably let you go this one time.
Just install diamond tweaks http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409540
There is a setting to turn your mobile internet on and off as you please.
Hey guys
i use this internet page since last week and i know a lot more about my diamond and have found a lot of great applications...this forum is great...
and thank you for your great and fast answers and the great tipps...
i think i love this forum.....
or use spb gprs monitor to monitor your data usage. great application which enables u to get reports on how much you've used every day/week/month, and alerts when you've use more than an amount of data you have specified. You can also enter the rate at which you are being charged per MB (or per month if u have a fixed allowance) and it will tell you the cost of what you've used.
I have used it for the past three years - it does not cost much and it is a great investment.
Ohh okay... ithink i will test it..in time i use diamond tweaks great tool but i would like it if my mobile connection is turned off and if any programm will start the connection, a tool ask me which connection should be used (wifi or mobile) and i have to click okay when only my mobile is aviable...does anybody know of an Programm like this...?
Diamond tweaks have the problem that u have to turn it on and off how you need it, so you have to start the Programm every time.............................not so comfortable
Does your carrier have an unlimited data package? That would solve everything...
or get an unlimited data package from your service provider and then you dont need to worry...
that's sounds nice but i'm student and not millionaire........
I think that it's a murder to buy a device like Diamond without having at least a small dataplan. It's a very web oriented device, so go to look a volume data plan...even small...you will enjoy much more. Find a little job and go for a dataplan
I pay €9,95 a month to get unlimited internet access. It'd take me 100503 months, or 8375 years, to pay a million for unlimited internet. Somehow, I don't think I'm gonna make that...
*cut* dang, double post :S
use monaco nodata software
Going to Norway, Sweden and Finland for about a month. Plan on using the Tilt for GPS navigation using tomtom.
I got a plan put on my phone that gives me 20MB per month roaming data internationally. After that it's a total screwjob in Scandinavia at about $20 per additional mb.
SO . . . I'm looking for:
1. recommendations for an unobtrusive cab that will allow me to track my total data usage out of my Tilt so that I can avoid overages (freeware would be nice, but not required). Have SPB MS 2.1 & SPB PP 4.0
2. way to make sure various little polling cabs are not sucking up bandwidth (w/o hunting down and uninstalling everyone). Can I do something to my data connection but still use GPS for tom tom?
3. What kind of data usage am I likely to see trying to use tomtom for GPS? Will probably drive about 2500km in 7 days using it most of the driving time if possible. I know using google maps or WinMo live search would blow me out of the water.
Thanks for the input!

Data monitoring:
Battery Status, Spb GPRS Monitor, ... both are great, Battery status has also some other useful options
Dont know for sure, but I think tomtom is not using data connection, so u can use your gps without data plan. Just download (purchase) maps of the countries u are going through and u can use gps.
3) For simple navigation with tomtom, you don't need any data connection because te use of gps data is free for everyone.
You need a connection only for the optional services like traffic, mapshare, meteo, etc. but not for basic navigation
You can also use Schaps AdvConfig or the previous Kaiser Tweak to completely disable data connections, and then only enable them when you want access. It might take an extra 15 seconds before you start browsing each time, but at least the data blocking is foolproof enough.
Is there any software that will track 3G data usage (and not wifi)? i'm thinking about getting the tethering plan with ATT, but i need to stay within 5GB/month so anyway to track how much i've used would be great!
SPB GPRS Monitor.
wireless.att.com
login
click the data tab.
thanks guys!
I'm using Battery status to track my data use.
It can be found here.

hi

I am on a 1 GB data plan on a 3G network. Last week I noticed some shocking phenomenon where my remaining data units was vanishing at an alarming rate. i was attending some workshop where vista was on throughout but I was busy and was not downloading anything. However I was in a new location and I had activated GPS vista side. I use Google Earth vista side and Google Maps winmo side. Could the Google Earth/Maps with Gps munch data from 822 MBs to less than 200 Mbs within 2 or 3 days.......
Considering I was not downloading any music and I had not linked any torrent files what else would be the culprit in the unexplained data theft?
Google Maps will tell you how much data it has sent & received.
Menu - Help - About.
Both apps can be pretty data intensive, as they constantly download maps as you move around.
Also watch out for Windows Update downloading large files over 3g.
SPB Wireless Monitor - Get it, done. Tracks ALL data usage and transfers into nice graphs, sorted by apps, days and times.
Also as a notice, like Pantal said, don't forget that when Vista updates eat a big chunky chunk of data.

Thanks guys for your responses. The culprit must have been Google Earth coz i checked and there were no Vista updates for that period. And yes a program to monitor data usage is a very good idea. However when i tried downloading the SPB software (http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/pocketpc-software/wirelessmonitor/download.html) McAfee detected it as a virus.
Perhaps the rom cooks can consider throwing in some kind of data usage monitor in their next release????? Hopefully this should be the release with wired and/or BT mic......
