I'm from China and my network operator is CU-GSM(46001). I flashed cm4.1.11.1 on my G1 Dream, everything so perfect except one thing: my carrier name failed to display on lockscreen but the issue disappered after I inserted a china mobile(46000) SIM card.
Can somebody kindly help?
does it disrupt your service in anyway or are you just picky and need it to display your carrier?
Menu > Setting > About Phone > Status
The Network name here is what's used in the lock screen. This info comes from the carrier ( I think )
Thank you guys.
The network service works normally. I just want to make the display on lockscreen perfect.
Can somebody kindly tell me which parameters should be modified?

Hi everyone. I have been doing a tonne of reading trying to figure out a couple of things for my Treo 750.
It is a Rogers phone for which I paid an online service provider to unlock. I am using my FIDO SIM in it without any problems.
It says I am always roaming and although assurances from FIDO I won't be charged Roaming fees, it gets kind of annoying everytime I check my email that it tells me I am roaming and asks if I am sure I want to do this....
So, I understand there is carrier specific info in the carrier.pxp file. I am told the Rogers network code is in this file.
Am I able to edit this to include the FIDO network code 302370 so the phone doesn't think it is always roaming?
Would it be better to unbrand / unlock the phone to WM6.1 via the methods I see here in the forums? [dubLeE's method].
Thanks everyone,
Ryan
It has nothing to do with your phone. It's the fact you are using the Fido GSM card on a Rogers network. It has nothing to do with whether your phone is locked or unlocked, and changing the carrier code won't do anything.
To disable the roaming network check when you check email, from Outlook Mobile go to Tools -> Options, choose the email account you've setup, then go to Send/Receive Schedule -> Advanced Settings -> check "Use automatic send / receive schedule when roaming"
Hi number16. Thanks for the reply.
The "Use automatic send / receive schedule when roaming" doesn't seem to prevent the "You are currently roaming. Synchronizing may result in additional charges" dialog box when the schedule is set to manual. In fact, the checkbox is greyed out and not selectable with a manual schedule. Even with an automated schedule configured, you are still prompted when doing a manual send/receive.
I was thinking that if the phone was configured such that it thought its' home network carrier code was the FIDO code, it wouldn't consider me roaming.
Anyways, sounds like I am stuck with it. Thanks again for the info
I have the exact same problem with my work Exchange email on a Rogers Touch Diamond. The roaming has to be defined by the ROM or registry. When I put my Fido SIM in a Rogers Samsung Jack flashed with the Fido ROM, there is no issue with roaming.
Hi there,
Same issue here, I am using my unlocked Treo 750 from Rogers on Bell network.
It works fine, except for the roaming issue.
How to get rid of that triangle icon on the top?
Were you able to edit the carrierDB.pxp file?
Please help.
Did you change your network settings over to the correct settings for the network of the SIM card you are using?
Unlocking a phone will allow other SIM cards to work, but if you don't change your network settings, then the phone will still try to connect to the Rogers network.
How do i unlock the network, i have a samsung corby phone which is rogers based and am using a fido sim card. Everything works except the internet which comes up as network error. please let me know if you can help. email- [email protected], thank you.

This is a Palm Treo 750 forum. You should find a forum specific to your handset for exact instructions.
In general, your phone probably has a 'Settings' menu which would have some sort of option to edit your network settings. That's where you would make the change. You would have to get the proper settings from Fido.

If I have the APN set to the one for the network of the SIM Card I am using then will I not get charged roaming?
Is it possible for it to actually be roaming and me not knowing about it?
So I got this captivate and it had ICS running on it with some network issues. Thought it might be the ROM/Modem/Kernal/Bootloader so I figured I would return it to stock.
I have no problem getting the phone to boot up but it won't connect to the network. There are a couple of things I am not sure about.
#1 Do I have the right modem for what my service provider (Telus in Canada).
I guess in order to answer that question you would need to know which modem I have. I guess that leads me to...
#2 How can you tell which one you have and how do you know which one works with what network?
#3 Is there a way to tell if it is detecting my SIM card? I go to contact and see them there so I would think that it is proof enough.
I guess I should tell you that at one point I did have signal but it went away and now I just have the circle with the line through it where the signal meter used to be. When I go to Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Network Operators > Default Setup is greyed out.
Guess I am just looking for some direction on where to go with this as I have no idea.
You can check modem under the the settings> about phone> status> Baseband version,
Flash a different modem and see if it gives u service.......Another reason could be the corrupted IMEI check that too.

any modem will work, just how good it will work is the difference between modems.
if your sim wasnt detected you would have a warning icon in the top notification bar, and in the pull down menu it would say "emergency calls only" ect. it would be obvious.
contacts arent necessarily stored in the sim card. that is something set up by you. (worst possible choice) use google for contacts saving. then they are everywhere you google.
if you arent connected to a network, then that would explain why that menu is grey....
you need to check your APN settings.
Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
make sure they match the settings from telus website. http://www.telusmobility.com/en/AB/phones_and_devices/setupdata.shtml

Thank you very much for the information. I am going to look into this a little bit further with the information you provided and hopefully I can figure something out.
Hello everybody,
I know that threads regarding the "network control lock key" topic already exist on this forum, but please bear with me for a moment.
Basically, my problem is:
- I have a phone bought as "freeware" (as in, not bound to any phone service provider);
- I have a Vodafone prepaid SIM;
- I have an Orange internet USB Stick (it has a SIM inside of it);
So, what I'm trying to do is take out the Orange SIM (the one used for internet), and put it inside my phone to create a wireless hotspot. I know it works on other phones, but not on my S9001.
When I put the internet SIM in, it asks for a pin; after the pin, it asks for a network control lock key, and here is where I get stuck.
I've entered * 2767 * 3855 # in the dialer to reset the phone to factory settings, but it was to no avail.
Again, my problem concerning the "network control lock key" is not about the phone service (the phone is unlocked), but about the internet access.
To make it clearer, after the * # 7465625 #, the message i'm getting is as follows:
Network lock ON
Network subset lock OFF
SP lock OFF (service provider, aka phone service)
CP lock OFF
So I have to get rid of the network lock, not the service provider lock.
If anybody can help, please do
If rooting my phone will be involved, please add a link on how to do it, because i have no idea of how it's done.
Thanks in advance for your help and patience.

Hi Everyone,
I got me a used MotoX, a customized version with a back cover and a badgers logo (go badgers!)
Anyway, it worked fine in the US on At&t, it worked fine in Europe, but now i'm in Israel and i can't get it to work on my network. I tried to put in a friend's SIM from another network and it worked just fine, it's just my company's SIM that does not work -> the SIM is recognized, the device is looking for a signal but fails, and tells me that "No Service | Selected network (GOLAN T) unavailable"
My device is an xt1053
The network is Golan Telecom - (google that for the wikipedia page, xda wouldn't let me post the link cuz i'm a n00b)
I have no idea what could be done, i don't even know where to start looking up this problem, or what should i even be looking for...
Any sort of information that might be remotely helpful would be appreciated!
thanks in advance..
Try entering the APN data manually?

Have you checked what the network mode is set to? Try setting it to automatic.
Settings->Wireless& Networks>More->Mobile Networks

Thanks a lot mate, i did try that. Nothing.
Do you reckon it might be related to the rom installed? i mean, is there a chance that it would work if i install a custom rom?
It's also possible your network might be blocking the phone's IMEI and/or your SIM. Check your sim with another phone. If sim works then check with your network provider on the status the IMEI (and ask them to unblock it if it is indeed blocked by accident).
You can get the number in settings -> About phone -> Status or you can just dial *#06#
Hey all. I'm missing my wifi calling option completely from my phone. I found that before, I was missing my E911 number from my provider (Metro by T-Mobile. So I had them change the E911 address to my current address, and I also had them do a network refresh. I restarted the phone, and the option is still completely missing. Does anyone have any suggestions on what else I should do? Thank you.
