I was showing off my phone at work a week ago, then all of a sudden they are looking at replacing blackberrys with the HTC dreams. Woo, go android!.
Some of the people are looking for black dreams instead of the white ones. Someone said that they heard that the blacks were slower than the white ones. I haven't seen or heard anything that verifies that. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks.
forgot. HTC dreams on Rogers, in Canada Eh!

They are all the same no matter what color they are.
the white ones are just hard to see the keys when they light up
They should be fired. racists
I must agree, the white g1 keyboard is hard to see lit up in poor light. I went with a black one for that reason, I never had issues seeing the keyboard (except that short time I disabled the keyboard backlight).
Thanks all. I thought so, but I just wanted to make sure.
I really appreciate the knowledge shared around here.
(I wonder if they would let me root one of them for fun!)

Sorry for starting a new thread but this is something totally new and different! Anyway, MobilityToday has released pictures of AT&T 8925. Follow the link: http://mobilitytoday.com/news/fall_lineup_verizon_att.html
It has to be released soon, I just bought an unlocked one..
So much empty real estate on the top-face of that 8925.

Compared to Verizon's version, ATT version looks a lot better. I do agree with the empty space concern but I am also glad at the same time that there are no buttons that could get pushed with your ear while talking.

I agree and it looks a little cheap in the photos. I hope it's just the poor photos. Strange they didn't take a picture with the keyboard out......

Haha, I see!
that is real alright! but yea i wish i could see the back and know if the rubber gps thingy is there. also id like to see the keyboard open. i hope it doesnt have the white and teal keys on it.
I was also wondering the same. All the others had there keyboards out. I bet the 8925 has the white keys and blue FN button. They are of course at&t's colors. maybe Mobility Today was asked not to show back shots or keyboard images. Maybe the rumor of at&t sending the units back to HTC for a fix was to replace the keyboards so not to scare of sells. J/K

Paul from MoDaCo said the white and teal colored keyboard was from a much older prototype, so if that is true, i dont know why they would give this one the old keyboard.
the t-mobile wing has the normal looking keyboard, and its not pink and white, so idk why this one cant be normal? i guess wel just have to wait. since we're actually seeing real pictures of the AT&T Tilt, that's VERY good, cuz im sure that means we'l be seeing much more, and it will be comming out soon.
Well take a look at these pictures. They did go with the colorful key layout.

I didnt have any when I got it, now about 20 days into ownership I have a black pixel right slap bang in the middle of the screen! but it isnt really visible when on red for some reason, but all other colours it sticks out!

Do you know if there is a way to fix it? i really dont want to get it replaced.. i just came from the mytouch 4g and it already had enough problems >_< and do you know if it will get worse.
You can go to youtube.com/watch?v=liMySLZkF5o and watch the video on your phone. It should help you with the bad pixel situation...
No guarantees though, but I guess its better than nothing. Some people in the comments for the video said pushing on the bad pixel helped too
Also watch out if your epileptic lol

another one popped up you have got to be kidding me. HTC is REALLY ticking me off. their screens are SH!T. screen was defect on mytouch 4g, screen sucked on mytouch slide, screen is getting stuck/dead pixels on HD7 now.
Im tempted to just get a focus, even though i love this phone..
Yeah, i have tried putting preasure on it, but its hard since the screen is glass lol.

Yeah im just being cautious because sometimes stuff like this gets worse.
Hi guys,
So technically I'm on my third HTC One, the first bulged at the USB port with a scuff, and the second was opened in store and had similar bulging so I refused it.
The third seemed good, and so I took it. I went home, set it all up, checked for bad pixels and it was grand. So i set it up, installed all my stuff, unlocked the bootloader and rooted etc.
So, dial forward a week, and I notice a brighter spot on a white background, right on the edge of the screen, on the left. I'd guess its a few pixels, as it is kinda triangular, and bigger than just one I believe. Using a pixel tester tool, they only show up on green (looks more white) and white (looks brighter), not on black, red or blue. So, I'm guessing its a group of sub-pixels.
It's one of those things - it doesn't bother me that much except I know its there, so I get drawn to it, particularly on white browser screens. I've briefly tried a pixel fixer app but it didn't fix it. So, I need some advice really, I love the phone now that I have (had) one that was perfect, but this has disappointed me. I'd hate to get back into a cycle of more returns for more issues like overhang, camera etc, if they even have any in stock. So, has anyone any advice on a possible fix, as that would be the best solution?
If not, given I've unlocked the bootloader and rooted and stuff, am I likely to encounter some resistance trying to exchange this? I got it from Three, and I intend to call round to them shortly to talk about it, but wanted some advice first.
Thanks for any help,
Matt
If it isn't too annoying I say live with it. You'll get used to it eventually.
If you replace it again there's a good chance you'll get one with a worse problem.
Replaced
In the end, I went with the replacement - sat in the store and checked off a list of the common faults I've seen haha, from aluminium quality to video hissing!
Think I've finally got a great one; it had a different batch number, HT32WW, as compared to HT338W for both the previous two. Very pleased! I can hopefully now relax - bar any more sudden dead pixels!
I'll add that Three were really great about it, very apologetic, I dunno why they have a reputation for poor customer service, maybe their call centres? Anyway, yeah, kudos to them!
Anybody saying live with it is a total idiot. Its like buying a car and saying it has a crack on the window but live with it. If its broken, change it! Its free and you deserve a problem free device for the price.
Yeah, and given that attitude I had Amazon send me three devices in a row, and none of them is free of dead pixels (no gaps etc. nonetheless). If you're going for pure you might have to stay strong to finally receive the one you've been waiting for .
Hello, I have seen that my htc one screen have a light leak on the op of the screen, I thought that is a problem of my HTC One, but I have seen in internet that many Ones have this problem, so Can you see that your one have this problem?
Images:
PD: It is visible only in light colors or white.
Thanks and sorry for my english.
According to you (and maybe the other ONE user) I think I'm lucky because my screen doesn't have this issue..
but I got two deadpixels in less then a month since I bought it
it's called backlight bleeding, i have that too, there is nothing you can do about it..
I have spoken with HTC Chat and they say me that I can send the One to the SAT, but I am worried because I have seen another One in a shop of my city which has the same problem.
Thanks
Anyone has this problem too?
Idon't have this issue. Good luck

New photo:
I have that too, it looks the same, even the same pattern (two gaps where the sensors and camera is).
But to be honest, it is not noticeable at all, only when looking at bright colors from a high angle. Maybe the level of bleed varies from unit to unit, and if it's bothering you very much then RMA it.
Don't get me wrong, I am very picky about this kind of stuff, If I found a single badpixel I would go bonkers over it. However looking at what kind of issues people are having with their Ones I wouldn't complain at something like this.
Reported here as well, but my One is fine

I'm the OP of the linked thread. Wanted to return it, but my shop didn't think it was a good enough reason for an exchange.

You are looking at a shallow angle at the edge of the screen.... do you see this when you look at the screen straight on..... if not then there's no problem.

Not really, but compared to the other side, it is quite bad!
So I needed to get a replacement phone because my original HTC one had purple and pink hues at night. So I got the new phone and it has HTC sense 6 on it and the battery is better and everything but I noticed something was off. When I compared my old phone and new phone, the screens were really different when it came to whites and blues. Websurfing and facebook was a lot duller, washed out and had a yellow tint on it. It was not horribly significant but I definitely noticed it and was wondering if this was a problem with the screen and phone itself or was this just something that was the case with sense 6 (which I apparently can't get on my old HTC one for some reason). Otherwise I will have to ask for another replacement. Any help would be REALLY appreciated.

this is normal and this was already discussed many times here. There are slight color differences between some display assembly used on the M7

Ya I have heard about the different screens used in assembly before actually. The link you sent me has a pretty great and detailed analysis of it but some of it kind of goes over my head lol. So I am guessing there is nothing I can do to change that or request a particular type of unit? Also my new phone makes a strange popping noise when on speaker phone as well which did not happen before. I assume that is not normal?
