Having tested several ROMs, (energy, athene & sense etc) I have noticed facebook integration is a bit of a non starter. The standard Rhodium ROM allows both updates & contact photo matchup, but so far i am yet to find a custom ROM that duplicates/supports it aswell.
Two threads i have created in the last couple of weeks (one asking 4 help, the other asking if anyone had similar problems with custom ROMs) in general discussion, aswell as several other threads brought up by searching, have proved that i am not alone in struggling to get it to work with many of the custom ROMs on offer.
So to you ROM chefs, there are several of us who would be very grateful if you would consider facebook integration/support in your custom ROMs. First one will win me over for a start!
Cheers guys.

You are definitely not alone and I would also love to see the facebook integration implemented in custom roms!
Works fine in my ROMs..
Try this reg key
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila
Facebook.ConnectionSetting = 0
My apologies then At0mAng, been testing the ROMs over the last few weeks so must have mistaken yours for another one.
Changed said settings and its updated one of my contacts (couldnt tell you how though lol) to show their contact infomation so i spose thats some progress!
Still, if any ROM Chefs are looking in, direct support/integration for facebook would still be very much appreciated!
U haven´t tried my roms also, Facebook is working swell.
Cheers.
It works in Monx's roms as well. As well as the ones based on the stock HTC WM 6.5 rom that I've tried.

Hi all.
Been reading this forum for a while, but only just decided to post.
I've seen a couple of cooked roms for the X1 which seem to be quite popular - one by jackleung and the other by itje.
I was wondering if anyone has an overview and comparison of the various roms available. It'd help somebody new like me to make an informed choice on which to install and weigh up the features available.
Thanks.
honestly, I tried the touch-HD 1.7 rom from Jack which is really complete but quite slow sometimes so I finally took the lite one 1.4 and then add the touch HD as a panel and now I have to say that it's much faster and smooth that anything I've tried before...

i would say its user preference. flash each rom and c which one best fits your needs.
I'd have to agree i tried all 3 of itje's roms and i only liked one. Since there are few custom roms for the xperia u can just try them all. If this was the touch pro thread i'd say we need some sort of chart
x1 will be x1...
rom without penal but touch flo, it seems a hd's rom...
no penal is okay,'cause we could install it by ourselves...
how about use the original rom of X1...
i get the rom kitchen, but i have no idea to cook rom..
I think its a great question, and a good idea for ppl to exchange thoughts about the different X1 ROMz. Without criticize the cooks ofc.
I recently see this thread, and i feel it in the same way, do you?

My translation: (sorry for my poor English)
I personally feel that the publication of Roms is trap in a strange circle, anyone notice?
Now new roms are flooded in the forum. Every time there is a new build, all cookers are working hard with the new build rom and then publicize it. Then People flash the new rom. After the freshness of the new Rom is gone, bugs are the offspring. However, a newer rom is out, then People do it again until the next more newer rom, and then on and on.
What is the meaning of getting the new rom? Is there any significant improve between a earlier and later build?
I believe that a really cooker should focus on one build, such as the Chinese Simple Build 20769, until a perfect rom is born. But not translate the rom into Chinese and add some new features then rush to publicize the so called product, which cause the old bugs are not solved but new bugs keep coming out.
What impress people is the perfectly perfect, not the newest.
to be honest, i don't think cookers just rush to the newer build. i have tried many ROMs and see many cookers struggling with fixing bugs like miri, onkolog, duttys, they all try to fix all the bugs they can. but most of these bugs has to do with manila or MS, so its out of their hand.
IMO, i don't think perfectly perfect is what i want, cuz i will get bored with perfectly perfect. i like a mix of decently perfect and newest
I agree with some of the stuff. The choice of which ROM you wish to flash is entirely up to you. If you're even slightly interested in picking a good ROM, then surely you know that installing the latest "state-of-the-art" ROM unavoidably includes some compromises (read: Bugs. Bunch of them. Bugsville!).
The biggest step forward in Blackstone ROM's have been Dutty 1.8. After that we have had 1.9, and then a whole flood of latest Topaz and Rhodium ROMs. That first one was a bug fest, but the second version was already close to perfection. The third was even better.
In terms of "freshness" these are now not new ROMs, but the advantage over the latest ones are:
- bugs have been brought to minimum
- any possible issues have been covered in length
- workarounds, hacks and stuff like that is usually also available in detail
So, to say that chefs should stick to just one ROM is silly. You're fighting progress here, and in a scene such as XDA expecting chefs to stick with just one ROM and polish it to perfection is not very realistic.
Chefs do what they do. They cook up stuff and offer it to the community. The community then tastes the new stuff, tears it apart to bits an pieces, usually finds ways to improve it, and then the cycle starts over.
It's just how it is.
If you want reliability, pick a ROM that's say 1-2 months old. Or even better - stick with the default one.
Good point but...
I have found a perfect rom... and every time the cooker comes out with an other new it is even better and nicer... It's the theme I'm facing to follow the upgrades as it's becoming more an more nicer in temes of icons splash screens etc...
So for me is ok when they go ahead.
If you don't like to flash all the time... just have a look for your perfect rom and stay with it...
Have a nice day
Roman
..nobody is obliged in flashing the newest ROM with the latest arrivals! a new ROM is simply an offer, it is up to you to decide your own policy. Some cooks go for reliability and bugs fixing, some cooks for the latest features: the same should be for users. While HTC has to support all users independently of their knowlegde (and in this respect Apple does a much better job...they are even able to support dummies and old ladies! ), i assume that people navigating here is an intelligent and aware user, capable of picking up what's best for him, based on the feedback of the other people.
In my opinion, the Cooked ROMs are Waaaaaaaaaaaay better in stability, performance and have much better features integrated than the Stock ROMs. So, if not for this community and the Cooked ROMs, I would be changing devices instead of the ROMs. So, I am happy (stike that) rather glad to be using Cooked ROMs and testing them.
It' a game. And I hope for all of us that nobody is really addicted to flash again and again.
So, I can only speak for myself and I am old enough to know what I do and why I flash a new version of my rom. I have reasons for and flash not every versions. I check before if it has improvements for me and only flash it in this case, then check it and when it has fewer issues, I let it stay.
But you are right, some comments in the forum are strange and it seems to be, that some users here flash only because there is a "newer" rom. Most of them doesn't know exectly what they are doing and when something goes wrong (in most of the cases) they overflow the forum whith their questions.
1. for me it's that the stock rom is filled with buggs, but tweakable.
2. I try cooked roms with some bugs, better tweaked.
3. with their updates less bugs, max tweaked.
4. one day you find your perfect rom without any bugs, maximum speed & satisfaction.
5. but I'm getting bored.
6. so I'm getting interested in new stuff (at the moment it's windows 6.5, new manila) and I find myself in flashing new roms with bugs.
7. goto 1.
well, it's just fun
No offence but is it absolutely necassary to start a new thread for every little thing that comes to mind?
What we have to remember here is the cooks and developers that are bringing us custom ROM's do it because they realize the short-fall of official ROM's and possibly they enjoy it, plus there's always hope of reward.
If you think you can do a better job then stop criticizing put on your Apron and start cooking, believe me its not as easy as it looks, at least not so easy to solve bugs, the process is very time consuming.

I am now with Dutty's 1.7 which is the stablest one before all the topaz/rhodium ROMs.
I've tried Dutty's 2.1 and had a lot of bugs, I've tried L26 v.8 and v.9 but still to many bugs (espcially with camera and album rotation).
for my experince i think the topaz is more stable. I like the new contact manager and new dialer and some others like the calculator and Calendar tab.
I don't like the new rhodium program menu since HTC coverd all tracks of WM (for better or for worse)
Please advise me which ROM (that has the features that I've mentioned) is the most stable and bug free...(best if you mention versions from Dutty, L26, Daviduek or other known cookers). best if as close to a stable HTC diamond 2/pro2 that is out there already.
I think the perfect rom is a myth and doesn't exist. Tweaks and fixes will always need to be applied to roms. I don't think cookers will rush to newer builds. I have tried many ROMs and seen many cookers struggling with fixing bugs. No cooker wants their rom full of bugs. Why would they? No one would use their rom! They all try to fix all the bugs they can, but most of these bugs has to do with manila or MS, so its out of their hands.
If we had the perfect rom, would we not get bored? Isn't it the tweaking and fixing that we are addicted to?
The choice of which ROM you wish to flash is entirely up to you. Everyone whats the latest, the newest. Its part of human culture. But with new comes the unknown, i.e. unknown bugs. As Rozenthal said, their is a compromise!
Dutty has released countless new versions to his Rhodium rom to solve bugs and because of this bugs have been brought to minimum.
I tryed only 3 cooked rom for HD, because reading the opinions of people that try it before me, I have learned that this 3 were without problems. I haven't yet tryed one with manila V3 because I'm waiting one that works well and because I use PDA and want phone that in the need moment not crashs or has some bugs. So, who use phone every day I think that he uses a rom without bugs, who has more time to spend can also try new roms and reports bugs.
I totaly agree with the originator of this blog.
I've tried roms from dutty, hellonasty, lavrentius, davideuck, maglite (russian guy), neos2007. And I noticed that the roms that I liked the most were developed from the shipped HTC WWE 1.19.831 rom (os build 20764, 20769, 21015, 21018), not the latest one from topaz or rhodium. And I do believe this rom was for Hong-Kong devices.
may be it is my visual perception .
Neos2007s rom +1

I suggest that you read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=471 and, while you're at it, you can choose which ROM you would want to try and download it. I recommend trying Agent_47, Smaberg, NRGZ and Jackleung's ROM's as they are the best chef's out here in this forum. Flashing new ROM is so much fun and, at least for myself, quite addicting!
Laurence,
Thx for the info. From looking around again dosent seem to be a "nice" thread that discuesses the various features of different roms, but
Agen_47's Valkyrie_v2.8 FireStorm Looks pretty damn nice,
Smaberg's Xperia Touch X - isent that one outdated as last update was in like march
NRGZ - Cant find his rom
Jackleung's V4.0 Full - sounds good but no pictures reallly showing what it looks like and such, Like the dialer, big thing for me is an improved dialer cause i think the one on win 6.1 provides really is hard to use and small buttons.
So what you think?? Valkyria is the way to go ??
touch x was final wm 6.1 rom... smaberg is working now on wm 6.5 roms... but imho touch x is best wm 6.1 rom around... didnt find better... i kinda dont like wm 6.5
Ok,
All my time with the Touch HD, I always used roms from Dutty, never tried from others. I like them cause there's few bugs on them, are always very stable and specially cause Dutty keeps and update almost every default in-built software that comes with the original roms.
But now, I'm a little disappointed with Dutty's roms, in particularity the roms with Leo interface, ie. manila 2.5, that are pledged with some bugs and in particularly don't even have Videocalls.
Can anyone give me an advise to an alternative to Dutty rom's ?
I would like to know what are the best roms with Leo interface and more importantly, that keep the default built-in programs (but always updated), for other words, are not stripped down (like the ones from Dutty)
Any hint would be great.
try miris ROM. one of them has manilla 2.6 running on windows mobile 6.1 and is supposed to be much faster.
think the thread is going to be closed as it is something personal
i can only say look at my signature what im using
I'm not asking anything personal, I'm asking a good rom with Leo interface and most important, to have all or most of the default in-build apps like the official roms.
Does Miri's rom have all or most of the default in-build apps (updated of course) like the official roms?
youre asking a good leobased rom that is for everyone different there for oure asking an opinion based question and yes miri has that
try to look at the first pages most of them have written down what they have in there rom
basically, there is no right answer, just what people like. this might aswell be a "whats your favourite ROM" thread which does little more than clutter the forum.
back to the topic though, i suggest you try them all (there are only 3 or so). could probably test them all in half an hour.
get miri 7.1
I've tested a couple of the latest Leo roms and the only thing you have to take into consideration is to REMEMBER that they are all in beta.
From my perspective they ALL run like crap for daily use. They are interesting to try out, but they are also more frustrating and slow to use and not worth the sleek new interfaces. Using any 6.1 rom is going to run much better
muhahahhahhahha...great thread here really awesome contribution and totally original question.
Hi onesolo, after been using almost all of Dutty's Rom's, when I moved to 6.5, the R2 was giving me some problems, and then decided to try PDAVIET. For now I'm pleased but still get the same problem as Dutty's with the SMS question, not sure if it's the same problem for everyone, but as you know here (PT) we can send an 160 caract. sms, and with this new 6.5 Rom I can't get out of the UNICODE and the lenght of the sms just passed to 70 caract.
But nevertheless I think it's stable and worth a big try.
Ok, ok, I can see another anoying thing, that is the memory use, if you have two or more programs open it may reach 70%.
With the good old Dutty's, would be hard to get there,
Ciao, até logo.
Jo
Plnety of roms out there with your requests. You just need to search. As stated above everyone has there own opinions on which roms best suit them as well as their own personal favourite chef, so would normally nominate them.
Best advice would be read title of each rom thread, research 1st post of each thread, see how others like this rom and then try it to make your own conclusion

Just got an SE Xperia X1
All excited to try it out, however it has just got freshly put on an WM6.5 (an english one, as the previous owner was using a WM6.5 Chinese one on it). This one seems to be operating a little oddly, and slowly. I'm almost certain it is an HTC ROM as it has a "HTC Calendar".
So I'm thinking I should replace it, what is the best option? It looks like the Android options are a little shaky, which won't do as I'll be using this phone every day (intensively, sending hundreds if not thousands of txts per month, and various calls, apps, etc...).
So... is there an excellent WM6.5 option? With SE panels?
Go for UnOff Infinite or X1.5, then read a lot about different roms and make a decision yourself. The best rom is a rom that fits your needs best.
Which ROM would make it the most similar to the Xperia X2?
Greetings to fellow NZer!!!! I tried a few ROMs and decided to stick with 6.1-based for speed and stability. I also wanted TF3D. I suggest you look at descriptions, pictures and read comments. If the thread consists of thousands of posts - read the last 5 pages or so, they will be most likely to be for the updated version in the first post.
Last time I went to Auckland, I noticed the abysmal Voda coverage, even in the middle of the city, hopefully whatever radio you have on will work well.
I also tried a bunch of others without problems, have to find the exact names, which escapes me now... Try a few each day, flashing is done in minutes, so play around, see how it looks and whether it performs to your expectations. Read ahead on the bugs, of course.

Go into the ROM section and check what's there!
Cool you're in NZ too, I haven't noticed any trouble before now.. but I've been using a Sony Ericsson Aino on XT, the Xperia X1 however will be VF.
From what I've seen I'll lose all my data each time I switch ROMs, am I right? (txts, emails, photos, contacts)
Would be handy if there was a stickied thread with the say the "top five" ROMs as voted by the community, would make it much easier to decide on things for a newbie as the ROM forum can be intimidatingly large to get started with
Just out of curiosity, may I ask what WM6.1 are you using?
Jerpleas ROM. The Unoff ROMS don't work so well with panels.

NUTS 10.9 - never a glitch. And yes, you will lose everything you have, similar to reinstalling Windows after a fresh format.
The best thing if you want to try many ROMs is to install just your 'can't live without' things and settings in order to check they all work. I have all my .CABs on a card, so it's a more or less set procedure. Speaking of VFNZ, some ROMs will run automatic setup and quite a few of them have wrong settings, so I recommend keeping the .CAB and skip the automated process. The only ROM i had seen with correct settings so far was the latest NRGY Cookie GTX.
thanks for that! Unfortunately my battery died and I discovered the charger is not compatible with NZ powerpoints! So my experimenting shall have to wait until next week.... but I've filled up a bookmark folder with a dozen links to ROMs I've got my eyes on.
Still don't know which one I'll try first! I'll simply have to play spin the bottle.

I've used 826x and also valkyrie v7, really nice ROM, smooth and also stable
hi
i also using Val V7.0. no complain. but need to view chinese wording and type chinese. any one can help?
rom?
what is the fastst rom wm6.1 / 6.5 that support sense 2.1? like jack 3.x for the speed and energy rom for sense design... but without cookietab, simple and clean sense 2.1
Make sure you check out EnergyRoms also, I'm tried all his roms, some still have the SoD bug but The "Energy Photon" and no problems at all...but flash flash flash....its the only way to be sure
Just my opinion,
Jerpelea's is the best for non HTC Stuffs, look like X2 stuffs inside.
Energy ROM or x826 Williyung for best HTC Stuff inside.
