Hi,
I used to upgrade roms all the time on my 8125 and never had a problem - until a couple of days ago. I tried installed the wm6 "most beautfiul" rom on my ppc and it bricked my phone. After many attempts I finally realized that I needed to install the official cingular 225 rom (available on the site) in order to get my phone to work. Since then I have tried downgrading to button and to wizard love with no success. My ultimate goal is to get to WM6. I have tried unlocking and have read all the threads and followed the directions but I cant switch roms. Can someone please help me with this. I am getting desperate.

Then -- and ONLY then -- will you be able to flash to a custom ROM.

Yep, I've replied to ecomajor's various posts in various threads and have basically given up. Very little info each time and having a problem that nobody else that has followed the steps has had.
Sorry ecomajor, don't know what else to tell you that hasn't already been said numerous times.
One Last Try -- Then, I Give UP!!
Read the following post on how to flash ANY Wizard (yes, that includes the 8125) --

Now, follow the directions in that post WORD FOR WORD and STEP BY STEP. The only reason it wouldn't work is that you're NOT READING and/or NOT FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS STEP BY STEP.
If you CAN'T read and follow directions, then don't be trying to flash different ROMs to your phone. If you're not willing to do what's necessary to help yourself, then noone else is willing to help you, either. . . especially when your problem has already been replied to with the same information over and over in 2 DIFFERENT THREADS now.
Let me detail you the exact steps I have taken. I have read through those posts, many times so I am certain I took those steps
1)device starts normally goto step 3.6 since unsure if unlocked.
2) read farias thread
3) download buttons rom
4)attempt to downgrade rom - failed
4a)tried 1.08 rom instead of button - failed
4b)tried wizard love- failed
5)download lokiwiz
6)followed all directions -failed - since was not able to downgrade rom.
Obviously these directions are not 100% foolproof - I know that the first time I tried installing WM6, I did not read through all the threads and after much effort I discovered that if I installed the official cingular 225 rom then I could get my ppc back working but since then I have had no luck getting flashing to work. Please tell me what I am doing wrong because noone has had my exact situation. there is no need to act all holier than thou and accuse me of not reading because since I screwed up the first time I have read through all these threads numerous times.
Ok, one more thing to try (shot in the dark, but I have no clue what is happening here)...
On your PC (its running XP, right???), do you have Firewall and/or Antivirus? If so, reboot your pc and don't start anything and then turn off your Antivirus and Firewall programs (I found a couple of threads where people were getting the error 260 when ZoneAlarm is active). Now try flashing the button rom. Don't try doing any other roms, don't try doing lokiwiz, just try to get the button rom on. If that works, then continue on with the steps here:

You might even try booting your computer into safemode and try flashing that way (I doubt activesync would be there, so put the phone in bootloader mode, and if you see USB above the left softkey then you should be able to flash it this way from safemode. Never tried it, but it pretty much eliminates anything that may be on your PC thats causing problems).
If none of that works, then get back to an official stock rom again and report back here with exactly what you did, what you saw, and all. Don't worry about the post being long, because to me, too much info is better than just short posts that don't tell us anything. Also, only update this thread. Forget all the other threads you have stuff going on about this problem.
Final question, I asked this before (and I don't remember if you answered or not)... Have you tried to flash your device from another PC?
And I've attached the ROM Update Utility Readme.doc that describes the error messages and how to fix them.
The weird thing is I never get code 260 with the cingular rom update just with the other roms. I will have to try the disabling all firewalls, antivirus etc at home bc at work there is all sorts of stuff i dont want to mess with. Problem if I do it in safemode is then the activesync driver wont be loaded and it will give me an error for that.

I've never tried it in safemode so I don't know if that will work or not, it was just an idea as we are grasping at straws here. But if you boot to safemode, and with the phone at the bootloader screen (hold down the camera button while you turn it on to get to the "rainbow" bootloader screen), if it shows USB above the left softkey then the computer and phone are communicating and Activesync does not matter. BTW:You can try the safemode way there at work as you will have no network connectivity in safemode so you don't have to worry about violating security policies.
You still have not answered my one question directly... Have you tried flashing the button rom to your phone on multiple computers? Or have you always done it from the same PC? And are the PC(s) that you are using running Windows XP?
What DOC chip does your device have? G3 or G4?
If you have a G4 then i guess you ruined your bootloader since G4 devices don't have and don't accept 1.xx IPL versions!!
I have tried button from multiple pcs. This time it gets up to 98% on button and then dies and it gives error 302 - update error for the button. This is a problem that I was having before.
Did you read the document I posted?? If you're getting Update Error 302, you're not going to be able to recover with anything other than the stock Cingular ROM.
Chances are that you did indeed ruin the bootloader when you tried using the ShellTool to flash a G3 phone. And I doubt seriously that you'll be able to do a warranty exchange if you can run the stock ROM successfully, so I'm afraid you're stuck now with the stock-shipped ROM.
So you are saying there is no way to fix the bootloader (like flashing it or soething) I was figuring I had screwed something up. I actually had read the document before but thanks for your help. Why is it that you can fix many other issues with the 8125 but not the bootloader?
I'm not saying it CAN'T be done. What I AM saying is that in the year I've been registered and active here, I've not seen any posts/threads about recovering from a bad bootloader. But that doesn't mean that there ISN'T a way to do it.
You might want to do a search of the Wizard section for bootloader error or recovering bootloader to see what might come up.

Hi, I have been reading this forum for some weeks and I am thinking of unlocking my Touch 3G by using this Hard-SPL thing which is available here.
However I am still hesitating because I have never done such an "intervention" in the past, so please allow me to ask you if you did it and if yes if it worked without problems (from the thread I wasn't able to understand if more that 2-3 people have really succedded!)

I actually tried few times yesterday and today, but I am getting "Server is down" message .
i manage to solve it. how? i have exit my antivirus, then, go to control panel/windows firewall and put it on off, and will work. each time, i have install enablerapi.cab on device memory.
I disabled firewalls and antivirus software. I tried on three different computers with different (working) access to internet. Still no joy . I guess I will try later.
I've unlocked my Jade without any problem, but to be honest i didn't flash another ROM yet because i want to be sure i can go back to original one (just in case of waranty), and i don't know how to rebuild my dumped original ROM.
I'm still trying to figure this out, gonna succeed as long as i keep reading this excellent forum.
Anyhow, flashing a new ROM isn't that difficult, but you have to follow the guidelines very well and keep on your reading glasses..)

So, I finally got it to work. I will post my "story" to Hard-SPL thread .
i did it with the first attempt with v3, no problem and i'm really happy

With hard-spl you will not unlock your jade . It´s only necesary to upload others roms to device.

Oh yes you are right, however that's what I meant; in fact I have a Jade with French ROM and I want to change it to English.
for me dont work the hard spl....
I've been trying for the past 3 days to Hard SPL my jade without any luck. always the phone restart without entering to tri color mode.
I even tried to exit the antivrus and disable the firewall but always same error.
Any suggestions here please?

no luck with the one i tried, just restarts. dont know why this phone is so special, every other one ive done is so easy.
stock loader version is 1.40.707.2 tried using windows xp sp3 .net3.5, tried using hardspl v2 and v3 (tried v2 just in case that worked)

SPL does work. But you must keep trying. I got "server down"
and so on. After a week and hundred times try, I got unlocked the phone.
Now I can enjoy any wm6.5 roms. It is free software and not perfect.
But It does the job . well done Olipro and Cmonex.

I have a TOUCH 3G and I did the HARD-SPL. The better thing in here is that developers and always available to help you. For example, i had some problems doing hard-spl to my Jade but with the help of cmonex(developer) i've done it without any problems. You have a lot of support in here. SO, If I were you, I would do it.

Yes i did my HSPL today and it worked like a charm it was so easy and
i had a gene(P3400i) and the HSPL for this phone was so difficult
compare to the HSPL for Jade
the Jade HSPL took only around 10-15 mins
now i need to flash some cooked rom will do it today right now downloading ironegles ROM

Been trying to instal Dutty's wm6.5 R12 rom on my touch hd but whatever I try, it just gets stuck at the screen with the bar and stay at 0%.
I have searched the forum and tried almost everything I could find. SSPL HSPL USPL and all won't work.
Anyone have any ideas for a noob?
i doubt if you can find someone who can guide you step by step, i suggest you study more, i was like you before, but i just persevered, unti i was confident enough to flash my first cooked ROM. CAUSENOT ALL BLACKBONE, have the same default factory settings, different stock ROM versions and different spl.it does require time and patience, but in the end this will al l payback.

yeah, this realy helps. Why do people bother to reply if they have no awnser.
I mean I have read those guides on the forum and been busy for a week on it now. I know what spl version I have and which version of hard spl i would need and so on. But it just will not open up.
So if there is someone out there that wouldn't mind HELPING me I would realy apreciate it. But just telling me to search better is no help at all. I have searched with all terms I know but haven't found the right soulution by myself. That is why I ask for HELP, not for smart asses.

look, no one is being a smart ass here. in addition, your description of the the steps you've followed are very vague. my friend, we see 5-10 posts like this every day and in every case, the OP has missed/skipped one or two steps in the flashing process. simply stated, the guides WILL help you flash your device. if as you stated, "SSPL HSPL USPL and all won't work you have to complete this task first. you HAVE to update your SPL before you can flash Dutty's ROM. put your device in bootloader mode and if IT DOES NOT display the following, you will not be able to flash a ROM:
BLAC120 (or BLAC110) 32M
SPL-1.56.01 OliNex
MicroP-BlackStone (LED) v 6
you HAVE to complete this step before you can flash any WM 6.5 ROM. read the guides, make your own easy-to-understand-checklist and follow it to confirm you've completed ALL the steps. be patient and you'll succeed. as a reference, you can use the links in my signature to help you with the process. good luck.

Troubleshooting - manual SSPL
* Boot up your phone.
* Copy SSPL-Manual-TouchHD.exe to your phone. In a file browser on your phone browse to where you copied SSPL-Manual-TouchHD.exe and run it.
* Your phone will reboot into its bootloader and should show SPL v 1.07.OliNex.
* When it shows USB at the bottom then run HSPLWrapper_blackstone_156OilNex.exe from your computer again.
* Go to step HSPL3 if successful.
Try to follow this step. Copy the file to phone and boot from there. then u should be able to do so.

thanks for trying to help. I do understand that people like me who are new to flashing a cooked rom will ask many silly questions. I'll try and formulate better which steps I have done.
I noticed on my bootloader screen that I have spl-1.54.0000. I therefor downloaded the file SSPL-Manual-TouchHD.zip and transfered the exe file to my phone memory. I then started it on my phone. It starts the bootloader screen and tells me:
BLAC100 MFG 32M SS-BC
1.07.0liNex XA
MicroP-Blackstone (LED) v6
From hereon I have tried to run USPL but it tells me it cannot connect due to faulty USB drivers which I have updated with the supplied drivers as indicated. Even with a different cable and a different USB port, USPL will not connect.
I have also tried to run the RUU HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex.exe but it then starts the screen with the percentage bar and gets stuck. After a few minutes it comes with either error 260 or 262 wicht is an update failure I have read. Just the fix to start over again and reset your systems didn't do anything for me.
Since I know that poeple are able to use this rom I am defenite that it is by my own shortcommings that I can't seem to do it. But after having tried a lot, I can not see what I am doing wrong anymore.
Hope this is a better explenation and thanks sofar already.
Ps: I have tried both USPL3 and USPL5 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3930878&postcount=3. I just can't seem to connect with USPL.
If you run win7 (and vista) x64 especially, loading unsigned drivers for usb doesnt work by default, this might be your problem.
You could try the following, boot you pc and just after the bios is loaded press F8 (or just keep pressing it multiple times) and a menu will appear which includes: "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" try this, and after boot you should be able to make the usb drivers work, so reinstall them and try uspl (dont forget to not allow usb connections in windows mobile device center)

Guys I have a big problem, please try to help me.
Ive been having my Touch Diamond for over a year now. I started to flash it 6month ago. I followed all the steps with Hard SPL and radio and then ROM.
I have been using BSB6.5 roms since the first day. But now recently when I upgraded to bsb6.5.1b, my phone after a couple of hours or (if am lucky) one day hangs, then I soft reset it then it takes long time to start then suddenly ALL applications and programs in the phone starts and then the phone warns me about program memory and then it hangs. I tried to flash over and over again but the problem still come back. Could someone please help me ? Someone had the same problem?
(I ALREADY SEARCHED FOR A THREAD WITH THE SAME PROBLE)
wow that is strange, try going back to a wm 6.1 rom than back to your 6.5 roms. Sometimes this causes quite a few weird problems like yours.
and remeber to hard reset at least twice between roms
I´ve read before in a thread how to reset the phone (boot, Hardspl, rom) back to its original form/condition. I tried to search and find that thread but i couldnt find it. Do you got an idea where I can find it ? I thought maybe I can try to do everything from scratch will help.

I have tried and tried and tried to flash mi tilt, and no luck. I've followed the intructions(let me guess well if you followed the instructions then you shouldn't be having a problem? save it.) It's not working! :[[[[[[[[ It keeps giving me the error 262 update error. I did what the solution said to do which was to soft reset and enter bootloader, and i did that but still no luck. I 'flashed' wm6.1 i think well installed it from htc's website and it worked and stuff, but i hate it! It is so laggy when i text and it keeps going into sleep mode after 10 seconds or the backlight goes dim after 10 seconds i've tried fixing it with what htc says to do but it still does it after 10 seconds. AND kaisertweak wont work it says the file is corrupt; i've tried re-installing it so many times i threw my phone!!!! ;[ It still works but it has a dent on the side. It doesn't bug me Anyway, someone has to have a solution for all this! PLEASE!!! AND THANK YOU in advance. I also followed the instructions on 'flashing for newbs' and still no luck. If you need info on my phone here it is: WM6.1, (when entering bootloader with the power+camera+SR) 3.56, THE PHONE IS UNLOCKED(as in i can use t-mobile, verizon, etc.), and that's all i can remember lol. Oh yeah one more thing, i can't seem to get rid of the 'bloatware' :'[ I've tried many so-called 'solutions. :'[ no luck. HELP!
This is the second " help me with my phone " thread you have started in the rom development section. You are not developing a rom or aiding a chef in developing a rom. So stop starting new threads here. Your last one was locked, and so will this one. This is not the I'm a noob , help me section. If you are having a problem post it in the flashing for noobs thread. There is no problem that you are having hat hasn't already been addressed in that thread.

You figured wrong, twice apparently, so Mr. Denco was showing you your failures in figuring. You got the "attitude" for posting in the wrong section TWICE.. When a mod closes or moves the thread, they explain why..
