Can we use the ROMs from the "Rhodium ROM development" page or do we have to wait for ROMs made for CDMA phones?
You should use CDMA ROMs on CDMA Phones

This is a good way to brick your phone.

Currently my Touch Pro is running the WM6.1 that I got it with from Telus.
Is there any way to upgrade this to WM6.5? Like going through Windows Update I see nothing.

Of course.look here. Make sure you look at the thread called flashing for noobs first.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=440
In order to do this you will need to flash a custom ROM, visit this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448008 and read everything you can about ROM upgrades and definately flash Hard Spl to your device before doing any ROM upgrade!
The only issue is that the version of the Touch Pro that I have is CDMA and I saw nothing in that thread about flashing ROMs it.

Nevermind, I didn't fully read the thread.
Once I have it flashed, I can use any type of ROM right? Only the flashing is device specific?

I didn't realize you had a cdma touchpro. you can only flash cdma ROMs not gsm. The link I posted above is not the right one for you.

Over on PPCGeeks is a bunch of CDMA 6.5 roms that you can use: XDA is more for GSM ROM's while most of the CDMA roms are over on PPCGeeks.

I've seen so many conflicting responses, I'd like to see the general consensus.
So:
Can I root a CDMA Hero running the official Sprint 2.1?
If No, is it possible to install a custom rom on a non-rooted hero?
If So, which ones?
Thanks!

Yes, there are several GSM rom ports in the DEV section. Just DON"T flash a radio for a GSM rom or it will brock your phone. Also, GSM roms will not allow you to update your PRL etc because they are not made with the same code as the CDMA roms. Look for roms by Zenulator.
So can I flash a GSM rom and use a cdma kernel and they should b fine

Yes and no. You need to read the OP for each rom to see if there are kernel compatability errors. Some rom's can only run specific kernels or you end up with errors. If you post on the thread for that rom if your not sure if a kernel will work, most likely someone will answer. Just make sure that you search the thread first as your question may have already been answered
EDIT: Also, if you can't find an answer if a kernel will work, then flash the rom with it's stock kernel, make a nandroid backup and try flashing the kernel you want to use. As long as you have a nandroid, if it doesnt work you can reboot into recovery and restore the rom with the stock kernel.
Don't waste ur time you have a cdma phone. Why bother. And zen roms are ports of gsm roms not just the gsm roms. I think you'll have many of problems trying to flash a straight gsm rom on a cdma phone. The radio being one of them. You can't flash a gsm radio. You need the radio to function in order to have data and text working. In short don't bother IMO.

ASOP gb is mostly stable now, just flash that or the pure google one that was released in the Dev forum this morning. You are much less likely to have issues doing that.
I have just purchased Verizon Galaxy TAB CDMA.
I am planning to use it in Wifi only mode and am not planning to subscribe to Verizon service.
Questions: Can I install GSM or Sprint CDMA ROMS or I should look for Verizon CDMA ROMS only? Can anyone recommend one?
Can someone reply please? I don't see this asnwered.
As far as I know it is possible. You just need to compile a special kernel, which I have no knowledge on how to do. Search the forumz. I know that there is information on how to instal a gsm rom on a verizon tab. Maybe that guy can help you.
Hit the thanks button if I have helped.

First things first, have a little patience when asking questions, this forum isn't nearly as active as some of the others, and questions don't get immediately answered.
Second, you *WILL* brick your device if you install a GSM kernel on your CDMA device. The kernel is what supports the ROM and talks directly to your hardware. Obviously, the hardware on a CDMA device varies from a GSM device. If a kernel can be compiled to interact properly with an already built GSM ROM, than yes, in theory it does work (as can be seen with the Honeycomb port. The ROM port is built for CDMA, and a kernel was built to interact with that and the GSM device properly)

hi
is it possible to write to sch-i800 european language pack?
Hello, I would like to know what roms are available? I just doubt these just all the roms in the development section. Are we able to flash international roms and tmo kernel or what? I didn't even root yet because of the lack of roms.
Thanks a lot
