Hi to everybody. This is my first message here. I have been around for a little while, as I have bought a Kaiser 2 weeks ago and I found this place extremely helpful. I bought it with a German OS on it and I reflashed using Hard SPL and Dutty's Windows distribution. Thank you all for your posts and information, I searched and always found what I needed. Now... I got a few questions:
1. I ordered myself a Mugen 3000 amps battery and I wonder if there is any software to correctly report battery consumption, as I read that many had problems with this.
2. When you load the battery... how do you know when it's really loaded since there are those battery usage reporting problems.
3. Where can I set my device to remain operational until the battery is dead (stop auto-shut down at 2% or stuff like that). I read that some extended life batteries are reported as dead by Windows and after reboot they are back to 34%. So a workaround to point 1 is to stop the device from auto shutting down and remaining operational until there is no energy left.
Thank you in advance ::- ).
Man, I can't wait till Epyon (a company) comes out with that nano tech battery that fully charges in seconds. I'll buy one on the spot. Look them up man. They are internationally based. I went to sleep with a 100 percent battery and woke up to my phone being dead. ON STANDBY!! wtf. I love my phone but geez.

I went to bed with the phone fully charged and woke up with it at 93% with Direct Push enabled. There is absolutley something you can do about your battery draining like that.

Unless he slept for 4 days!!!!
I agree, that is absolutely absurd. 100% ---> DEAD overnight????
I'd suggest doing a soft reset before you go to bed so that are processes are killed and not running in the background and then see how the battery works overnight.
Errrrrr
Errrrrrr... can anybody ANSWER my questions? ::- D.
I always close out of running programs after I'm done with it. I had my battery fully charged and unhooked it so that it wouldnt over do the battery. Went to sleep and when I woke up my phone was on sleep "obviously" so I hit the power button and it doesn't wake up. So I have to do a hard reset on my phone by pulling out the battery. When I powered back on my battery was like at 18 percent. Crazy.
Did you charge the battery for more than 10-12 hours the first three times you recharged?
I wouldn't know I bought it from a friend, I'm pretty sure he let it die down completely before charging it.
these are lit ion batts why would it matter if you charged it for that long the first time. for the first initial charge your sappose to charge it for a complete 14 hours anywas.

Try BatteryStatus. It's a 3rd party app that is updated regularly.

The Kaiser itself will show a green light on the front when the battery is fully charged. Since this is a function of hardware, and not controlled by software, it should be accurately represent a 100% charge.

Probably a registry setting that controls this. Sorry I can't be more specific on this one.
Battery
gqstatus0685: as far as I know, a hard reset does not mean pulling out your battery. That's just like something between soft reset and hard reset. Hard reset = erase all OS settings, right?
NotATreoFan: thank you for your answer, it's the first good and complete answer I got. I still hope for an answer to question 3. As for battery status: I think I have it since I use Dutty's Windows, and I think he included it.
Is it possibly to deactivate HSDPA (instead use GPRS or UMTS -> fast enough for the headlines) to automatically download emails? I'm pretty shure this costs me a lot of battery. It only downloads mails every 30 minutes, but when i turn it off, the battery lasts a lot longer.

Technically, this post should not be in this thread. It is for an issue/question separate from the original poster's. That being said...
Google search. Check out the results here. The very first link will answer your question.

Nope, I don't think this is quite right (unless I have missed something). Taking the battery out is not a hard reset. I tested this just now to be sure and it had no discernible effect on my phone. To hard reset, hold the two soft keys down together, then put the stylus in the hole and wait for the instructions (i.e. take the stylus out of the hole and press the green phone button). The phone will then be back to factory condition and you will lose all of your data.

Battery
Hey, I was the first one who knew ::- D.
Ok, so my Mugen battery should be coming these days. I installed batteryStatus but I wonder: what if this program simply gets the measurements from the same place Windows does. So far I always saw battery status report the same digits as Windows. Are you sure there are cases where Battery Status disagrees with Windows on the battery measurement?
Still nobody to tell me how to make the Kaiser stay on until the battery dies (stop auto power off)?
no problem here with the battery
Mugen
What do you mean? Do you have the Mugen?
Hello
I have new diamond 2 for three days. It's very good machine, but i've one serious problem with battery. I try to explain the strange behaviour of it:
1) Battery life is too short. I have read in this forum, that battery life is amazing. I dont have this opinion. My topaz's battery life is about 3/4 of a day (standard using)
2) battery behaviour 1 - sometimes i have battery % value another than after restart. For example i have now 50%. When i do soft reset i will have 35%. After second soft reset i will have 42%. Maybe i have problem with battery calibration or something like that. Or ROM is bad.
3) battery behaviour 2 - many times my battery freeze at specific % value (for examlple 40%). At first i though that is amazing battery life. Buuut no. After few hours still was there value 40%. So i tried soft reset and i saw only 16%. I really don't know what is this problem about.
I tried ariel battery bar, which is very simple program and i didn't have problems with it in the past (when i had kaiser). But here was the same problem. Value on Ariel battery bar freezed too. After softreset there was another value. Maybe i will try hard reset in the future....Now i am trying to format battery with process of fully charge and discharge. Maybe it helps.
Has someone the same problem like me?
Detail of my official ROM:
ROM ver: 1.39.479.1 (47382) WWE
ROM date: 04/07/09
Radio ver: 3.43.25.19
Protocol ver: 61.20t.25.10U
Many thanks for help
PS: i had hermes, 2x kaisers in my past, but this kind of problem i haven't had til now. hmmm
Can you list any applications you have installed or is it still original and out of the box with no applications apart from the standard ones?
How did you perform your initial charge ?
I always perform mine by doing a full charge - letting it drain and then back on charge
This happens for the first week - even if it goes flat in the car, I will not plug it in the car charger until I get home and can do a full charge!
Once the first week is done, I charge normally which at the moment has been every 2 days
Did you do something similar?
I have read on here someone else having issues which is potentially down to the battery so it might just be you have a duff battery
thank you for quick response
Apps:
G-alarm
Total Commander
Core Player
Dictionary
MyLight
Nothing special installed. I think at first i must do a hard reset because i must exactly know if this will be on fresh ROM.
First charge - as usually - it was the same like you.
Now i am charging and here is the same strange problem. I am charging now for 2 hour and battery is only on level 50%. So, now i am going to do soft-reset..............few second...................tadaaaa i have 100%. This is not normal. Here is something bad.
But thanks for you help.

I was going to suggest the hard reset route - this would determine if its software or not.
I will say that charging from empty takes a hell of a long time on the TD2! I'm thinking without even timing it, that it is taking around 4-5 hours to charge up ... and thats on mains!
Are you doing a soft-reset while it is plugged into the mains to charge?
Also is it doing this on usb charge (try another cable and NOT the one supplied for the charger)
Have you been using Opera. If so how have you been closing it. Did you go to menue exit or just hit the X? I ask because I found that hitting the X did not fully close it and when I went back to it it was still at the same page and not relaoding my home page.
Also did you set X to close the programs automatically or do you have to hold X to shut the program down?
It is also my 3rd day with the phone but have used internet a lot and the battery seems to be good. I also have been playing lots of games. I have done an initial Full charge and let it drain.... A full charge again let it drain... and last night it got a full charge.... My battery is Full at the moment. Today I have used it mildly for the web.... Like less than 15 min and have played games for about 10. A few calls and that's it. I can say it's doing better than my Elfin has.

Good point - Just for your reference, in the settings menu > advanced settings> System> Task Manager > Button tab
You can set the X to close rather than minimise - I have always set this to be the case so that when I close a program, it does close!
i tried 3 different chargers. Nothing.
Now i am doing hard-reset. Soon i will report.
report-after hardreseting my topaz seems to be fine. Before hardresseting i fully charged my battery. now i am testing it...
hmmm. really interesting. after few hours of testing everything was ok. So i decided to test it with battery applications (ariel battery bar and another tools wich shows battery bar in %.) And here started ainigain the same problems. Can someone test ariel battery bar and test some soft reset? Please watch what happend after restarts with battery %. I tried 10x restart
and everytime was there another value of battery. Sometimes higher, sometimes lower values.....really annoying
Now i have uninstalled all battery tools and i am going to test again if everything is goog...
alkapone please inform us about the results because i kinda have the same problem here, and i am using batti.
i have a lot of applications installed (nothing to do with the battery meter), but i have GPRS not 3G signal, i am closing the programs normally, and i am exiting opera, and so on. i am using it a lot but i think it goes out kinda fast. i almost get 1 day by using it.
can anyone suggest a battery meter that actually works fine? i like batti
Same problems here! Looking at the battery-information tab: After 4 hours of use after full charged the battery is empty..
I have been using dciBattery and qwertyMemory and all seems to be ok.
I have copied the files to the storage card then run the files and set a shortcut in the windows startup folder.
Here is a link to the files
http://freewareppc.com/utilities/qwertymemoryanddcibattery.shtml
this program doesn't have any config ? i don't want to have the memory bar and i don't want to have that gradient thing.
i think i solve the problem - not sure for 100%
hello to all
i think i solved the trouble. when i have uninstalled every battery app, everything seems to be ok. and one statistic - i had today at 12:00(lunch) 20% of battery. after 8 hours standard using of the phone(few calls, sms, internet), my battery told me that it has 10%. i think it is veeeery gooood (8 hours=only 10% decrease of the battery).beautiful.
result - this case showed that some battery apps/tools causes problens with compatibility battery meter vs. these apps..,
list of apps which causes problems (my tests)
1) jimmyes greens battery fixes
2) ariel batrery bar
3) batti
this is not 100% solution. i am still testing.
please write your opinion.

Do you think nueDynamicClock and nueClock as well as TweakHD (with it's apparent powersaving options etc) could be culprits as well? I'm on 6 hours standby and 2 hours device usage and I've just hit 55% on my battery (trying out the app alkapone02 just linked to)
i have installed finix batt icon too. batti was battery crazy on this.
i will test tomorrow, i am fully charging it now and i am going to test how long it will last through the week

Hi there!
I recently changed my battery with an ORIGINAL new one because I had a problem... that is still here...
Every time I turn on wifi (even with 100% of battery) my phone turns off after 2 or 3 minutes (and it seems that's because of the battery.)
Sometimes it turns off even when I'm just calling (more often when the battery is less then 20-30%).
EDITED: 30-40 seconds before it turns off the screen and the physical keyboard backlight start to flicker.
EDITED: Now it turns off EVERY time I make or receive a call after 4-5 minutes!
Exemple: Today the battery life was around 50%. I tried to turn on wifi. After 2 minutes of wifi use it turned off. I tried to turn it on but there was the flashing red led and it turned off again every time (it was like uncharged ).
Then I tried to remove the battery for a few hours, I put it back in and the battery life was the same of before the "turning off" problem, around 50%. What does it mean??
My hypothesis is that it gets excessively hot when I use wifi and even when I call... But I don't really know what that's about..
[my ROM is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=586463, the english version. I got the right RADIO, I checked yesterday]
Thanks for any suggestion!!
Fabrizio
[sorry 4 bad English]
Try this...
Check the battery contacts on the phone -- clean them with a little isopropyl alcohol, and gently pry them up a little so they make solid contact with the battery.
I'll try what you say, thanks a lot!
I just want to say (I forgot it in the first post) that the screen and even the physical keyboard backlight start to flicker 30-40 seconds before the kaiser turns off.
After prying and cleaning the battery contacts the problem isn't solved yet. I didn't use the isopropyl alcohol, I'll try it asap.
Anyway now the problem is even worse, the kaiser shuts down each call after 2 or 3 minutes! Of course if the phone is charging (via usb) NO PROBEL, even the flickering isn't there any more...
Any other possibility of fixing that? (I have no warrantee, I really hope I fix that by my self just with your help!)
btry prob
well.. find out if one of ur friends has kaiser..... exchange batteries... i.e u isert his btry into ur kaiser and ur btry in his kaiser and then try the wifi n calls from both fones..... this will precisely tel u whether it a fault in the fon or u didnt get The genuine btry.... hope this helps.... do leme knw.....
Thanks for replying but I'm using a brand new battery and the problem is still the same of the old battery, nothing changed...
perhaps the problem is really not the battery but rather the battery's charging.
the point of exchanging your battery with a friend's battery is that you will be able to test your device with a known properly charged battery.
alternatively, you can try to charge your existing battery with an external battery charging pack or by inserting your battery in a friend's phone and let it charge there.
i understand that you claim your battery is brand new, and this is leading you to conclude that it can NOT be the battery at fault...but strange things happen in this strange world!
Wow I didn't see this problem from that point of view!
The only person I know that has a Kaiser is 600km far from me...
Now I have to find a way to properly charge my battery (if it isn't already properly charged of course!)...
But just one question: if the Kaiser is not charging good the battery, why should it "think" that it's 100% charged??
welllll.... trust me..... i once had a sony ericsson k770i. the shopkeeper said that it has ORIGINAL btry.... n it wud turn off after 20 min talk. so my advise is try another btry from another shop.....
But I tried with 2 different batteries, my old one and a new one and the problem is the same. I also have to say that it's always worse then before. Now even if I turn on the camera after some minutes it turns off, ora yesterday even when I was writing a text message.
Indeed it's possible that the battery is always less charged because the Kaiser doesn't charge it. The Kaiser works good when connected with usb to may mac...
well buddy, ur last post clearly suggests a prob with btry.... say hw much had u used ur old btry before changing it
I used a battery for around one year, but it was already used (I've bought a used Kaiser, in very good conditions, on eBay).
The problem I have started with the old battery and now it keeps torturing me with the new one... Today I had my phone charged, but after 4-5 hours without using it I received a call and of course it turned off (after the flickering screen) I'm desperate...
o boy... its 200% confirmed btry prob. i m guessing, if u wud talk with charger or data cable plugged in, it wud work for hours ryt? my sincere advice is, go to a trustworthy shop n get a new battery. i m also using a new btry but it gives really gud tym on wifi, wap n calls....
Well I really think the battery I've just bought is a brand new original Battery, I checked all codes, voltage and other stuff... BTW I think I'll try to use another orignal battery (I'm sure that's original) of a friend of mine's Kaiser before I buy a new one. Here in Italy battery and gadgets prices are really high... Thanks 4 the help anyway!
PS: I really hope it's a battery problem, because if it's something else I don't really know what to do.... thanks again!
Update: I noticed that if I don't use Camera, Wifi or even make calls at all, my kaiser works for 2-3 days with no problem. I send lots of text messages, play Solitaire or view my photo album for example...
Why just more "intensive" tasks should make my phone turn off in 2-3 minute?
I don't really understand... I hope I'll find someone in my town that can fix it... BTW thank for any help
I own a Samsung galaxy S advance for the past two years now.
Still on Gingerbread 2.3.6. India unrooted. Past 3 weeks I was visiting USA.
I was using a AT&T Go-phone there.
What happened is my phone always switched off while I was using it. Just like THAT! I was thinking because I was using WhatsApp on this phone, I thought maybe cause I have a different number for WA and so WA was continuously trying to identify the number whenever I was on-line.
Specifically, the battery used to drain from 75 or 63 or 47 % right down to 4 %!!!. And when plugged in, in off state, the battery used to get charged to full within seconds (the indicator showed full 100%). After I switched it on, the phone again switched off. This happened quiet a few times and so when I returned to India, I uninstalled WA reset my phone, formatted the USB storage and used a few apps to recalibrate and determine the "health" of the battery. Also I noted the time for it to switch off. I was around 2 and a Half hours which means actually the battery drain and switching off randomly continued even after factory reset.
Now here are the questions
1)Has the battery gone beyond its life or is there a problem with the software or is there some bug that is killing the battery? Just a small note here, the battery is kinda swollen
2)Also, what should I do, buy a new battery or install new software (custom ROM or something else) depending upon the ROOT cause from the above question.
Please help.
Thanks indeed.

Thanks for the prompt reply,
Yesterday, I charged the battery (phone) and I didnt install WhatsApp. I left the phone in flight mode and just let it out for "idling".
For a good 7 hrs it was as it is and then I installed WA and bang! switched off.
Do you reckon that, the application uses a lot of juice so much so that the remaining battery dies off instantly? (now that the battery is in bad "health")

Basically, for a couple days, my Z3C battery drain graph is a straight line going down at 40 degrees. I'd post a pic, but I can't yet (new member limits).
It used to be mostly flat when the phone wasn't used, but not anymore.
What changed? honestly, nothing! I just woke up and noticed that it went down from 100% to 70% during ~7 hours of my sleep. And it's like that ever since. I'm struggling to use the phone for a full day (used to be 2-3 days). The phone is 8 months old.
WHat I did already:
1. Turning off/uninstalling various apps based on their % impact on battery drain
2. Clearing cache
3. Turning down wifi and internet
4. Factory reset with data backup
5. FULL factory reset without touching anything after it
NOTHING worked
My only theory is that battery became bogus and I have to send it for repairs... which means at least 2-3 weeks without the phone and a questionable result (they may as well not consider it broken at all).
Anyone have any ideas on what to do at this point? I'm getting desperate
I wanted to sell the phone in a couple months to buy the Z6 compact, but I obviously can't sell a phone with a faulty battery... which means I won't have funds for the Z6. Sigh..

And what about changing NOTHING but just turning the airplane mode ON?
edit: I made a mistake, not OFF but ON!
I had the same problem with my Xperia T and the cause was that I cut the SIM card by myself (from mini sim to micro sim) and I accidentally internally damaged the SIM card. The battery drain was TREMENDOUS and the phone was INCREDIBLY hot that time. I didn't know what was the cause and tried literally everything! Only turning on the airplane mode was stopping the battery drain so I thought maybe the SIM card is damaged. And it was! After replacing one, everything went back to normal.
But what I want to say - your case might be different but... just give an airplane mode a try.

Flight mode does nothing. 100% -> 75% overnight.

Yep, like I said in first post, I did factory reset. Twice, in fact.
The phone doesn't eat more battery - with Screen On, it works like it used to, but there is no "screen off" time for battery: the drain seems constant. The phone obviously doesn't go into sleep mode.
Then try Safe Mode in which all 'foreign' apps are not included in the startup procedure.
- push the power button
- long press the Power Off on the screen
- Then a option to restart in safe mode will appear on your screen
- Now you can chack whether your battery drain is a software or hardware problem

Hardware sadly... the battery drain is exactly the same on safe mode+flight mode as with wifi+internet+all apps I have
I still have some months of warranty... should I send it?

Sigh..

I had the same problem with my z3c when I went back home to Cyprus for the holidays. In Germany my battery drain during the night is 5-6% with Wifi on (no Stamina Mode), but when I was in Cyprus my battery drain went to like 40% over night. Bear in mind my phone is completely stock, with some disable apps here and there. I used GSam Battery Monitor to see what was going on and I saw that my Phone Radio was using almost the same % as the screen was. I'm thinking maybe this happened because of the firmware or something, I'm currently using .264 for Germany, but when I bought the phone it came with the Greek firmware, and I changed it to the German one during the Lollipop updates. Maybe if you tried flashing another firmware?
