Stream Media Player by PSA - G1 Apps and Games

Hello guys,
I just downloaded the Stream Media Player by PSA and its description states that it is able to prive the ability to play video from different web cameras.
The reason Im posting this is to ask if with this app I am able to watch live streaming video from a person using the qik app on another android device?
Sort of like video chatting one way.
Thanks a lot for the help fellas.

Hi all!
I have huge problem with our national television broadcast company. They send f.e sport news at the webpage but these videos are embedded and I have not found any solutions to watch these videos.

Thx
Sorry about spamming...
These sport news videos are one of the most important needs I wanted to work when I am abroad.
Please could somebody try this link with your Kaiser and different sw solutions if some will work.
I'll appreciate this a lot.

streaming video to G1

looked around and didnt see a post here in the g1 forum but it is possible to stream movies from your computer to your G1. just go to www.orb.com and your set. best of all its FREE!
can you be a little be more specific, it will be helpfull if you explein a little a couple of steps for this and how can you watch it on the g1.
note: I'm not trying to be ungreatfull
I just try it and is GOOD (running it, on my wifi) a little slow when watching a video but defenitly watchable, I think if they develope a software for the android like the one for Iphone this will be a killer application.
In order to use it you just have to download the software from the site and create an account, share your media files videos, mp3s, pics, documents and even your computer webcam. allow it in your firewall. Then just log in from your g1 browser, and you are good to go and enjoying all your files in your g1.
I used to use this all the time with my Wing and Tilt. Unfortunately, the video has issues. It doesn't work on the G1 through 3G as of yet. Rumors have it that Orb is in the process of developing an app... but that was spread around back in November. Who knows what happened with it since.
Be also interesting to see devices as PMP's with video out capabilities... something like vPOD's
I am able to get the video started over 3G but the video player keeps telling me "Sorry this video can not be played". I still hear the audio but the video always freezes on the first frame. Has anyone else tried this and got it to work?

Same problem I've had. I have been able to get a couple videos to play correctly, but I have not been able to figure out why they played and nothing else would. Oddly enough, even the ones that would play once would not play a second time.
you can do this with "gmote" also it much easyer
Androrb was just released. Check it out.
Has anyone been able to stream to the G1 using VLC?
I have tried using the same settings as the ones from the G1 video encoding thread (and lower), but it just won't play.
(I know the OP posted about Orb, but with such a generic thread title, this shouldn't count as off topic or thread stealing...)
I do want a DLNA / UPnP app for Android. I can get Tveristy working for streaming music, but it won't stream & transcode video.

I've gotten this to work in VLC in my LAN but not from outside yet. It took me forever to get this far, and I kinda just chalked it up as progress, and haven't done much with it since. Use the rtsp address in NSW or Meridian or whatever on your phone.
need to set h264 to 1,2 baseline and audio to aac in advanced settings first
Code:
:sout=#transcode{soverlay,ab=42,samplerate=44100,channels=1,acodec=mp4a,vcodec=h264,width=320,height=180,vfilter="canvas{width=320,height=180,aspect=16:9}",fps=25,vb=200,venc=x264{vbv-bufsize=500,partitions=all,level=12,no-cabac,subme=7,threads=4,ref=2,mixed-refs=1,bframes=0,min-keyint=1,keyint=50,trellis=2,direct=auto,qcomp=0.0,qpmax=51}}:gather:rtp{mp4a-latm,sdp=rtsp://0.0.0.0:5554/stream.sdp}
In your Android video player:
Code:
rtsp://local.server.address:5554/stream.sdp
Is T-Mobile blocking ports? I just tried that method in VLC and it works great with WiFi on, but with 3G I can't get anything.

Use official YouTube application by Google for WM!
I already installed the youtube app but it isn't so comfortable with me... it bothers me that after a search for a video i cannot categorize the results by rating for example. It also bothers me that the videos are opened with the streaming media app and not with TCMP or another video app. Now, as it concerns the m.youtube.com site, the videos are opened only with the streaming media app and not with another video player. Can i change that? Can somebody help?

Stream music and video from NAS?

I am new to Android and have only had my Nexus One since March but what I really miss about Windows Mobile devices is the ability to stream music and video from my network drive. I find it mind boggling that this feature which has been available on WM devices for every is still not possible on Android devices. Is it not possible to map a drive with Android so that the built on media player would be able to play music and video without having to download the file first?
Would appreciate and thought or comments on this.
Thanks,
I searched all night last night for a solution too. A lot of file explorers can map network drive but none of the media player can stream the videos (had to download, lack of codec etc). Eventually I had to setup tversity on my desktop, map the network drive on my desktop and stream video/audio through tversity's web flash interface (you can use track ball to control the interface). It's not pretty but it plays everything so far.
Get the app HomePipe there's a free and pay version.
I'm using the Free version and you can stream MP3s from your pc to android wifi or 3g.
You can add network shares from your nas too.
Bad thing is, you can only listen to the mp3 you select, if you want to queue up or look up other files, music stops. I'm only using free version, so i don't know if pro is any better.
As for videos. I have no idea.
I had an iPhone 3GS for 10 months before i went back to Android... and Air Video was freaking amazing. Wished Android had something similar.

I would really like to know that as well, specially over 3G..
If you have QNAP NAS you can stream .mp4 videos with QNAP APP.
This is my prob. from another thread:
Stream video over internet from QNAP to SAMSUNG GALAXY S 2.
Postby Freeman111 ยป Fri May 18, 2012 6:33 pm
I want to stream my videos over the Internet.
I have tried the following:
Rooted the phone.
Installed WEBDAV apps so I can get access to my Qnap and see the files (videos) BUT I can't stream them. All the video players I have tried come up with some kind of error.
However I can stream .mp4 videos using Qnaps APP QMOBILE, however it can't locate my .avi videos so thats not good. But I don't understand why I can't use WEBDAV like on
an iPhone.
I have heard of mounting folders using CIFS MANAGER, but does it also work outside your local network so you can stream movies over the internet?
And what port shall I use for CIFS manager?
Any suggestions are welcome.

[Q] Does the I9000 support Divx online streaming? NO ONE KNOWS!!!

So does the Galaxy S on Froyo support streaming Divx on the web (http) or not?
I've waded through dozens of threads in which everyone asks the same question but no one gives a real answer, or geeks misinterpret the question.
I watch streaming divx movies on movshare.net, stagevu, vidxden, etc... on my computer using the Divx web player. But when I go to stage*vu on my Galaxy S, it shows a tiny 3d box with question marks- which indicates that I might be missing an app or extension.
Here's an example: http://www.vidxden.com/xulipva5r5e1
Another example: http://www.movshare.net/video/jk90g9v8zppku
Check quicksilverscreen forums for many more links.
Let's be clear here: We're not looking to download a divx movie completely and then watch it. We all know this can be done- this is not the topic.
Does anyone have an answer???
