Can any one advice me how to improve the video quality in WMP 10 on the Tytn II
Compared with my previous Tytn I, the movies & clips do not play fluid, though RAM and ROM are better, and no other programs are running.
Same Sd card, same movie which plaid well on 30 FPS format plays rather chunky on the Tytn II. Is the Qualcomm CPU lesser compliant than the old one or so?
Some Reg tweaks to perform? (and which tweaker to use / download from where?)
Thanks guys!
For Information: According to the data sheet of the chipset it is providing uncompromising video quality for Video capture and playback
(30 fps VGA - even for Messageing) http://www.cdmatech.com/download_library/pdf/msm7200_chipset.pdf
Maybe, but i fear the drivers are not playing nice with the new chipset
I mean, i understand the problem with TCPMP, since is third party software and it stopped being developed (at least the freeware app), but it shouldn't be any problem with the shipped software, right?
Here is to hoping for an updated driver... GO HTC!
could this be why they say to use activesync to transfer everything onto the p4550? maybe its not optimised for it or something. but still shouldnt lag like that
Maybe it is a lame question, but does ActiveSync automatically converts video&/mp4 to a format more digestable by the device? Like SPB Mobile DVD?
my impressions
Hi !
I also noticed that video playback is kinda bad on the TyTN II, compared to my Prophet (overclocked to 260MHz). When using TCPMP and even Coreplayer, the DirectDraw rendering mode is about 3 times slower than Raw Framebuffer mode, which makes me believe that it's a DDraw / drivers issue. Since WMP 10 most likely uses DDraw, that's probably why the video is lagging...
So: If you use TCPMP / Coreplayer, MAKE SURE YOU DON'T USE DIRECT DRAW . If you use WMP 10, i have no idea if you can choose not to use DDraw.
It's still kinda weird that the TI OMAP 200Mhz (OC @ 260Mhz) on the Prophet performs about the same as the "ultra fast brand new never before seem" MSM7200 400MHz when it comes to raw power (again, ignore DDraw case, where Prophet is 3 times faster, that will be fixed soon... i hope...)

Have noticed the same thing. Using corecodec rawfb is the best option. Having said that I can watch h.264 AVC encoded at 400KBPS no problem. On my wizard watching anything other than DVI was pretty much impossible. So the processor has the power - we just need the drivers to back it up now.
Unfortunately this is the price you pay for being an early adopter. I imagine once the at&t version comes out drivers wont be long behind.
Don't people find a general slowness with the Kaiser? My old XDA Mini S OC'd to 260Mhz seemed so much quicker in many ways. The 400Mhz processor in the Kaiser is definitely quicker in some areas, but twice as quick as the old 200Mhz XDA? I think not. Here's hoping HTC release a new ROM soon. Bad news is I can't even see it on the HTC eClub site!!
Your MDA, running what? WM2003SE?
WM2003SE in general could be faster than WM5/6 because WM5/6 is Flash based. That means, the persistent storage. You wont loose your app when the battery is empty, but yeah you must pay the price.

TCMP should be the solution as clips / movie do not lag with this one. Even Direct draw enabled is OK.
Issue is that do not support AAC plug-in, making MP4 movies useless.
Anyone tweaking the reg, or waiting for new drivers for this video performance issue?
(i do not supose HTC thinks that 3g standard should be used no? )

I'm pretty sure DirectDraw is 3 times slower.
Can you please benchmark on a clip with and without DDraw ?
I would really want to know if there are ROMs out there with DDraw fixed
BTW: this is KAISER SPECIFIC, does not apply to other PPCs afaik
Hello.
There is exactly the same pb on my new LG KS20 (MSM 7200 chip too)
I can't read video or play game with a decent frame rate
2 months later and still no fix for the slow performance in Video.
I installed the Coreplayer, took 2 weeks to play around with all settings, though no big changes. Directdraw enabled play s "OK". (no dither)
I guess the best thing to do is to ask CorePlayer which settings fit best on the Tytn II
It's all because of the missing video driver the the Qaualcomm 7200 chipset, if I watch a video on my Tytn 2 with TCMP using direct draw the fps feel 10 fps, now my original Touch with the 201mhz Omap 850 cpu plays the same video with direct draw very smoothly
We need video drivers

Aware? Maybe, but do they care?
Maybe I'm the fly in the ointment but I have created lots of mp4 files from my normal video and use wm player and everythings great. Sorry

Which MP4 convertor did you use and what is the FPS now? on 30, things become nasty, though 10 is stable.
I have neithe isues with small videoclips, though playing an AVI or MPEG file directly (712mb) is crappy for sure

TCPMP DOES support AAC with a plug-in that they are not allowed to host any more. It, however, is considerably worse than the one in CorePlayer.
If you do need it, I dig up the download URL of the AAC plug-in for you.
I Folks!
I wanted to play SNES, Genesis, NES and Master games on my Kaiser. I downloaded latest version of MorphGear 2.4.0.9.
My problem is that i can´t activate sound on SNES and Genesis platforms. Master and Nes works great.
Another problem is about the speed emulation on 16bits consoles (Snes and Genesis). Especially when running heavy rom like: Super mario world (Snes), Rock in roll raca (SNES), Magical quest - mickey mouse (Snes)
When i played Toejam & Earl (Genesis platform) the game runs but i cant see no names ant text, and souds too!
As you see i´m in a big trouble hehe!!!
Does anyone could help me?
Sorry: My device is a Kaiser (HTC TYTN II) 400mhz processor 32bits perf..
The courious part is that many people could run MorphGear on 200mhz 32bits devices

you should sell your kaiser and change to a 200mhz 32bits devices... and not a HTC product.....
ps: someone may want to kick me for this.... whatever just saying what need to say
Thank you for your silly reply by i´m very satisfied with this device!
Anyone else?
Try this emulator instead, http://paqpark.nuclearfallout.net/projects/pocketsnes.php
It's much faster, just make sure sound is disabled on all of your Snes emulations or you will experience massive lag.
yea i got pocketsnes in my titan and its great as long as you deactivate the sound, but since these htc devices dont allow multi button pressing in the keaboard, the games are tricky to impossible to play, but indeed this is the best snes emulator around
Kind of seems pointless without sound though
PocketNes and MorphGear are the same quailty speed emulation on kaiser!
I tryed Genn1.0 and ran Genesis ok! But without set buttons
hello all
i have a standard xvid clip (640x272) that can only play @ 20.8fps on core player(stock rom) (with itje 10.1 ROM i get 21.3fps)
the same clip plays @ 23.8fps on the touch HD and 24.3 diamond 2(stock ROMs)
i tried so many other clips as benchmarks and its evident that the x1 is constantly %18-%20 slower than other HTC devices with identical specs (cpu and resolution)
can anyone explain this phenomena? i sure hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel
What do you have installed on it? Perhaps some background processes, like panelmanager?
come to think of it, its not just the video that is constantly slower on the x1. its the whole ROM in general (navigating between various wm programs, switching between applications....etc) is clearly much slower on the xperia even though it has the same CPU speeds (just look at an video review of the tp2 or td2 in youtube and you can clearly see how they are much faster)
even the fastest x1 cooked roms are noticeably slower than the HD,td2 and tp2 stock roms
hope SE can do something about that and i hope and i hope our chefs can eventually close the performance gap.

its actully a fresh flash (itje 10.1) with only core player installed now not even emails or contacts are added yet
do you get better performance on reasonably good quality XVID dvdrips (close to 640x272 resolutions)
What coreplayer version did you use to test? I can try installing the same and see what I get. Also, what settings?
Same problem here, videos always cease in the first seconds.
By the way, which coreplayer version is the best to use for xperia?
im not facing a bug like F-Styla as it does not suffer from the stuter i just have constant low performance compared to HD and td2
i just benchmarked the video on an ancient HTC macian and i got 39fps!!!!!!! (on qvga resolution though)
using full version of coreplayer 1.3.2

Since I discovered this great app (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467590) never had a problem viewing any video. Great resolution, small size of files, no lags.
However, I heard somewhere that coreplayer can't use hw acceleration on X1. Do not know if that's true also for HTC, but that could explain the performance differences

reencoding videos is not really a solution if you ask me
-my understanding that full qtv support is coming with ver2.0
my problem is that why the heck is the x1 so much slower (in everything)than identically specd devices like the HD. is there an easy way to varify that we are runiing at the FULL 528mhz and overclock in case we are not

Somewhere here in this forum I read that actually the X1 is NOT running at full speed. I know, I have not been really precise... but with a little bit of search you can find out the thread I am talking about.
I think all HTC devices except the original XDA have video sync/playback issues. There are tons of threads on this. Get yourself a PMP to enjoy quality videos.
X1 runs at 400 mhz currently, although the processor is in fact 528 mhz. The downgrade is made in order to save power and lower heat levels. You can check the current speed by installing an app like HomeScreen++.
I would like to see what the X1 can do with the full 528 mhz, but I haven't seen any solution for it so far.
I enjoy perfect quality after I downloaded the app from the front page.

i got a program that can change clockspeed .. up to 528 , with nice settings like , lower it down @ backlight off , lower it down @ power button
it can still play mp3 at only 62mhz badass phone lol
i had it cooked in my rom Touch X 6.1.2b
programs called nueCPL - ClockSpee v1.2 (Build117)

I experienced the same slowness using Coreplayer, I am using v1.2.5.
After I put a non Touch-flo on the SEX1 I did not have a slow Coreplayer anymore, so I would suggest try a different ROM and see if the problem is still there.
I am using gtrabs wm6.5 rom and I have no problem playing video on Coreplayer without reencoding the video.

its says im already @528 (not 400mhz). i changed everything to 528mhz on all settings but that did not help in fact for some dumb reason in getting even less performance now @19.18 fps
-installed home screen ++ but im not sure where the settings is to show current speed (will look more after i reflash)
-turned off touchflo3d also didnt help
-this 400MHZ thing seems like a major problem with the X1, are you sure its true? i would imagine a lot of noise and complaints if it were true ?
-will go and flash into a beare bones rom now to see if it helps

Thanks! That works to make it feel quite a bit snappier (I know its not scientific, but haven't benchmarked anything)
I am also having a video problem, rather than make new thread I post it here.
Well, not a single HD video plays on my Xperia now, Coreplayer tries to but its so choppy and insane which I now know doesn't use hardware acceleration.
Now after converting the video with Touch HD video converter software, WMP says "The source filter for this file could not be loaded."
I also found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365381
But still nothing at all.
Any solutions? Must I change ROMs to play HD videos?
weird I don't have any problem with video performance, I'm using coreplayer and they just flies!!!!!!!

can you make sure of the resolution of the file. also did you use the benchmarking tool in core player

- I think its under ...options - indicators.... IIRC.
- It is major and was talked about quite a lot when the X1 was launched.

I had a similar issue when I messed up my video drivers with something I installed. The only solution was a hard reset.
hello everyones.
so:
underclocking msn 7200:
use nue dynamic clock 1.3 . this software works on snapvue. i set the arm11 cpu at 128 mhz when i m using snapvue, and at 20 mhz when wm is supended. i have huge battery life when i switch the radio to gsm mode. BTW snapvue speed is ok.
better graphics performence:
intsall gfx boost 1.1 from chain fire. maybe a dll is missing. in case i will upload it.
install openvg drivers from neo s 2007--> it gives better 2d rendering.
install samsung d3d drivers from samsung omnia. it allows software d3d rendering on snapvue.
by the way, i did not try the htcca d3d drivers. it only work on 6.1 roms and enable the msn gpu . has someone tried these drivers??
with my best salutations.
nico
Could you please give us links to files, I couldn't find all programs
Thanks
only had succes installing samsung omnia drivers but no noticeable benefit nor I can run any 2d-3d games.
I am also searching in overclock msm cpu do you know any app supporting it?

for 3d gaming on the shift, you could try a jbled 3d java virtual machine.
Hi every1..
Has any one here tried FPSECE on Omnia i8000..
If yes.. then can some 1 plz give a instruction guide step by step.. from installation to configuration.. and key mapping..
i hope that i can put external link...
www .youtube.com/watch?v=RCqfG5DleZY
on Omnia2 it doesn't run so smoothly...
Thanks for that link.. I have checked various tube videos running PSP games.. I am actually looking for a setup guide for our Omnia..
fpsece is the best app ever developed for winmo
i have fpsece .10 on my i920 working quite well, maybe not as well as a 1ghz snapdragon but whatcha gonna do... anyway installation is easy just install the cab, load some roms on ur phone or card and place a good bios file in the bios folder in /program files/ fpsece/ bios. setting up virtual keys should be pretty simple just open the app click on the virtual keys tab, click where u want it on screen and choose which button u want to place there. fpsece is the best app around for winmo and version .10 is leaps and bounds ahead of previous versions. if u like it u should definately donate to the devs., plus u will recieve some extra features like save and load states. if u have any more questions or problems i'll be glad to answer as best i can, there's also tons of support and advice at fpsece.net/forum2
Thanks every1..
I got it to run on my Omnia 2.. was unable to change to potrait from landscape mode.. but workaround it using Graytor..
However when I play Tekken 3 the FPS is just 14.. very slow..
NE1 knows how to increase FPS.. my CPU is set to high performance...
hey guys,
is there a way to increase FPS..!
Most of my games run on low FPS. I have seen videos for Omnia 1 and the fps is more than I am getting it on my Omnia 2..
Because Omnia 1 processor/drivers are faster
Omnia 2 has 800mhz processor which is faster than Omnia 1
Can i Increase the Glyph cache to get more FPS..
I mean increase Glyph cache to 4194304 from HKLM\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE\limit
Will it work..?
