Task manager - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

Hi,
What is the best Task Manager application for HTC Kaiser?
I am looking for a good task manager that I can assign it to a hardware button.
Which it can list all running applications , processes , memory usage , CPU.
It is able to kill process, etc.
At this moment, I am using DinnarSoft "Handy Switcher".
But, I am looking for a better alternative.
Thank you.

You could try QuickMenu or WK Task, both of them are free and very, very good.

How to Close application properly?

Hello,
I just noticed a strange behavior that I have on my Hima with WM6 TOFCLOCK that I hadn't on my WM5 ROM but I had on my original PPC2003.
When I open an application, and then close it, if I open my Task Manager, I can see that the application is still running
All applications are having this behavior so when I opened a lot of applications, the memory is full and the device lags.
Is there a way to automatically close properly applications or should I open my Task Manager each time I close an application?
Thx for your help!
HTC X-Button
Just search the forums for this program
HTC X-button.
It closes the application instead of just minimizing it
Cheers
HTC_X-Button
There it is
Yeah, I couldn't remember the name of this app, thanks!
I've been looking for it but without the name it's a little more difficult
Or pBar
A very small and very effective way is to use VJOkButton. it is an exe file and can be mapped to any hardware button.
I have mapped it to my record button. It closes the application straightaway. So no task manager needed.
you can use it in combination with HTC X-button or pBar as well.

Kaiser getting slugish

It seems to me that my Kaiser is getting a bit slugish, like when bringing up the dialer or taking photos. Do I need memmaid or something similar? Is there an easyer (and free!) way to tweak or check what's hogging the memory?
It seems slow after fresh boot up and I set the phone to close apps rather than hide them. Its running WM6 stock HTC ROM out of the box.
Thanks.
James
I would recommend you search the forums for a couple of programs which can help you identify your problem.
Advanced Config - This can tweak your kaiser and allow you to turn options off you may not use anyway.
Task Manager - This operates in the same way as a windows task manager, you can see what processes are running and what % of memory they are using.
Also, i would recommend Kaisertweak - which is similar to Advanced Config but i think it goes into a bit more detail, and that was developed by someone on this forum (credit to them, but i cant remember their name)
Hope this helps you

Free Up Memory

Hello to all. Sorry for my noobitity that will follow
On the screen of Raphael, on the upper right corner there is an arrow pointing down. There when i press it it says a number%, which i assume is the memory used. Now i want a program so when i free up memory that number will go down. Cause i have from SKTOOLS, Free Up Memory, though when i free the memory that number doesn't change at all. So i don't know if it works or not.
(usually it's 53%)
Sorry if i have posted in the wrong section.
Well, you've got a few choices. You can kill processes with a task manager (like dotFred's Task Manager) to free up some memory. Killing cprog.exe will save ~10 MB of ram, but then again, you won't be making phone calls again until you do a soft reset (not bad on an airplane, though). You can only do so much by killing processes. You can turn off Touchflo 3D in Setting-Today. This will save you maybe 6-8% of RAM usage. But, you'll have to live with the Today screen and not TF3D (or, check out Touchflo Detacher in this forum, it works real well). You can remove your bloatware by doing a hard reset and skipping customization. This will save a decent amount of RAM. Finally, you can flash a custom ROM. Most custom ROMs run at ~30-35% RAM usage with TF3D running.
You might look up cleanRAM in the Diamond themes forum. It works better than any other memory aid I've tried (SKTools and Clear Temp).
I'm sorry, I forgot to mention, i have a custom ROM (it's Romeos 1.95.4 by monx). Tough with his previous versions i was at 35%, now i am higher, without changing my installed programs. The issue is that even when i was at 35%,, after using programs it went up to 45% and then when i used free up ram it still said 45%, instead of 35%.

It sounds like you're minimizing and not killing programs when you close them. Change it so that hitting X kills programs under Settings-Button on the task manager (hit the quick menu arrow and then the wrench icon). And give cleanRAM a shot. It has a very nice custom list that allows you to kill processes that don't stop all the time, like active sync, pword, HTCAlbum.exe and Quickqps.exe. It clears up a lot of memory quickly and reliably. You don't need to soft reset very much when you use it.
Dear Farmer_Ted i have the X to close the programs already. I have also installed the cleanram. Active sync is not running on processes under a name like active_sync or wcescomm (unless it has another name) but i see it in the tasks tab. How can that be possible? not running as a process and running at tasks tab (all tab reffering to task manager)?
After running cleanram i have in use 98MB of Ram.. Is this a good number?
Well, in the processes active sync is called repllog, or something like that. It doesn't take up all that much memory, anyway (maybe 300 KB).
Does that ROM have TP2 manila? That may be your issue. It uses a ton of memory. There's not a whole lot you can do about it.
Yes its repplog you are correct...I can understand though, i've used EliasSyncKiller and SKtools,Notifications Tools, to disable repplog, but it still runs...hm...
Anyway yes the Rom prolly is "heavy..Even a clean install in the best pagepool gave a 38% (tired 0,4,8,12)
Thanks for your help though Farmer_Ted. Btw could you give me a link of a rom ur using/suggesting that is fast loading windows/uses little memory/runs programs fast/stable

htc task manager kills programs

i know there are threads related to this already. and i have searched high and low but nothing has worked for me.
i am currently using this rom - 6.1 WWE ROM shifu V08 M2D|RAM 101|LZX|D3D|Full
its great and works nice but seems to have the same problem with the task manager killing programs.
i have tried the registry tweak and advanced config tool to disable the autokill function and to try and also make it only free memory when there is 1mb left. but it still does it regardless.
if the htc task manager shows 50-60% used memory, and i run a buncha programs like, skype, ie, calc, google maps, etc. it'll show up as approx 70-80% usage, but still kills old programs not in current view!
this is driving me nuts. cus it feels like i have 30% more usage left in my device's ram but that either windows or the htc task manager wont ever let me use...
biggest issue with this is that manila will "sometimes" also be closed. or when switching between programs like tomtom and contacts or calendar. i wanna get info from one program and then go back into another program to paste it or type it, by the time i get there its closed! annoying crap lol

Kill processes

Hey,
I'm running a WM6.5 ROM.
How do I kill a process?
In the Task Manager I have a list of the exe's running, but I can't fnid a kill button.
Any help?
search for process killer for wm. I use it and its work fine
WHen you open your task manager, at the end there are three buttons. The third one says: "close". Just select the program you want to kill/close. If task manager cannot close it properly, it will warn you to kill it.
Even i have same issues the kill opition is diabled I am using tael ROM 6.5
any suggestion
