Good evening.
My Diamond (Vodafone an Dutch) takes a long time before sounding the ringtone. When I (test) call myself it takes a moment before I hear the ringing sound in the phone tha I use to call my Diamond. Yhe the white light on the Diamond starts to flas for a few seconds an after that the screen lights up and only after another 3 to 5 seconds it start to ring.
I could not find it here but the is soooo much to read and search
I know that there are a few lines in the Register wher i can make some changes to change the delay etc. I have tried tha but it doen't change much.
Who can help me solve this problem??
Greetings from Holland.
Arie

the delay in the ringtone is not a registry issue, its because the htc dialer uses alot of ram 5-10mb so it takes a few seconds to load, if you dont want a delay, disable the dialer and use the normal windows one or look for a diffrent dialer to replace it, there are some free ones floating about
Thanks @ all.
I'M sorry it's not a registry issue. Why did HTC sell a phone with a problem like ths. It is very disturbing to wait that long and I mis calls that way.
The good news is that Diamond Tweaker seems to hava shortend the waiting time to about 4 seconds on my first test.
Keep up the good work

I believe there has been some discussion of this in the developing and hacking section of XDA. I would suggest running a search it might help you find a solution to your problem. But a good place to start would be there. I noticed I had a delay not only on my Hermes but my Wizard as well!
If you find any solution to this, pls post it here.
Thanx
ring immediately
don't know if it the same. But for XDAII, Himalaya, qtek2020 (WM6-WM5)
the trick is a registry key to be changed. don't know if it's valid also for TYN
but I have a WM6 rom on my XDA and it works. try it out
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0\
change value of Script key from apw3r in apw0r and should ring immediately.
sometimes happens that the value after a soft reset turn back to 3
so cancel the key and set it new (as a default key)
two different key will appear (default and script with same apw0r)
value zero set the sec to wait befor ringing (Answer Play Wait 0 Ring: apw0r)
Tweaking that reg key is ONE solution...
another possible solution is that u need a new simcard, the other possibility has to do with the polling time of your cell operator -> i ve posted some details in a thread in this section!
If you would like more control over how your device rings/vibrates/flashes its LEDs on events, you can can change the Script values of these events. For example, for an incoming call performing 'activate device, play ringtone, wait 3 seconds, repeat':
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0\Script = "apw3r" (REG_SZ string, no quotes)
From ppcaddict, so j think that 3 isn't the delay ringing time.
Bye
apw3r : only ringtone
av0pw3r : vibrate and ringtone
v3w3apw3r : vibrate then ring
Well, these values are change if you go to the setting of the ringtone
This would appear to be a "feature" common to all HTC wm phones (and maybe beyond - I wouldn't know).
There is the option in a program called Tweaks 2k2 to allow you to disable the 3s delay. I can confirm this works fine on my kaiser.
May someone post the reg key setted by tweaks2k2?.
Bye
I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but I've searched high and low and still cannot find a solution.
I'm getting pi**ed off that the Diamond seems to take almost 3/4 rings from a landline before it even makes a peep. The weird thing is, as soon as the landline starts the ringing sound, the diamond lights flashes immediately.
It's almost like the software can't keep up with the hardware. At the moment, I'm missing every single call as the answerphone kicks in before I even know I'm receiving a call.
Any clues/ideas/fixes.
Again sorry if I'm repeating a thread, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere.
here are several threads about this....
I did a search for 'ring'

Was the same on my Trinity device and someone elses Wizard device. A feature of WM perhaps
there is a cab
fixs it..welll sort off
use the search and you will find
i have it on my diamond and its alot beter now
1. seems to me impossible that you, after soooooo much searching didn't find a thread to join instead starting a new one.
2. to my best knowledge (and i read and i really searched) there is no solution to this problem except the usual change the ring tones to mp3/change the rings to wav and a few very dubious cab files that (as a later everybody is complaining) had no effect. there is also one tweak in the Diamond Tweak program that also has no result (at least on my diamond).
3. just to add a slap to the insult, even the BT in my car start ringing before the diamond! i hear the BT device ringing and looking at my diamond i can see that he is still in the "mute but blinking" phase. most of the calls i pick and answer before my diamond's first ring.
4. now going to report this thread and ask some mod to glue it to an existing one. next time search and if not satisfied with the findings just post on an existing thread...
meanwhile you got more help than you deserve.
So friendly......
Fixed it now due to this thread. Disabled phone skin and changed mp3 to wav.
No issues now.

just to stay on the "friendly" side: disabling the phone skin also gives you 10mb of more memory like in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2501745&postcount=27
or this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2486722&postcount=1003
and pay attention at others have to say:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2486738&postcount=1004 so maybe i am wrong.....
why i didn't recommend it to you? because is not so simple. it also disable a few other things. what things? i'll let you find out alone (this time).
Whenver i answer a phone call, I can hear the other person, but there is a delay of between 5 and 10 seconds before the other person can hear me, rather annoying as I end up saying hello 5 or 6 times at the beginning of every phone call. Now I have taken to remaining silent for upto 10 seconds after i answer just to prevent this.
I am running gtrabs W4X 6.5 +R3A with the 1.14.25.55 radio with the rilphone.dll that was posted with it. I think the problem happened before I had this software too though, and ideas or suggestions? a better radio perhaps? I'm on Vodafone UK.
Thanks.
me too, i would like a definitive fix for this please.

Nope, I have it too... Very annoying...
me too! there is a 2 sec delay from pressing the button to being heard from the other party on the line. I have installed the Touch HD phone dialer on top of the stock rom (R3) so i am not sure if that is causing the problem.

Well 2 seconds is a lot less than the time I get and I'm not using any sort of 3rd party dialer so i doubt taht's your problem.
i've had aproblem when u cant even answer a call it just keeps on ringing.......
usually if someone call when i'm playing mp3's with media player
eh im not alone then... 2 or 3 seconds before they can hear me..
yes i have the same problem too...it happened just recently after i got itje's touch-it 7 rom, but not immediately after i put that rom, so i dont know if that's the problem.
I'm using stock R2A Generic UK with stock dialer and I also have about 2-3 seconds before the other person can hear me.
basically i dont think it has something to do with the rom..cause i changed to stock rom and the same problem exists...so it must be some hardware problem...anyway i 'm taking it for service...
I think we all have that problem, and it has nothing to do with the ROM.
Its pretty bad in this modern era of high tech devices that just answering the phone has become so complicated lol
this phone is so complicated but cant do the simplest of things correctly.
Did anyone think about the Provider at any point? Because it might be Network related too.
I have no delay and are on T-Mobile USA.
I have it on TMO USA.
got the same problem on Vodafone NL..
well i have the same problem on cosmote greece....and lately it has become a lot worse...now the other person sometimes cannot hear me at all even after a minute...and if he finally manages to hear me, then they tell me that my voice is too low in volume...even though im practically yelling at them...could this have something to do with the microphone??since i can hear the other person perfectly...
on vodafone UK here - this problem is bloody bloody annoying - i end up saying hello twice if not 3 times to people - really poor. Xperia is failing to do the most simple of tasks - act as a phone which is what it should excell at!
not "xperiancing" any problems here.
running the same setup as aliasneo and i'm on Fido in canada.

in other words - do not use ring tones from SD Card.
Use default ring tone of WM, which is located in device memory for faster access.
Hi folks,
i cant really explain it better in the title, sorry for that.
Sometimes my phone acts pretty weird.
If it's in standby-mode and i press the Power-OFF/ON button to awake it, it takes like an eternity for the phone to actually wake up.
Same goes for the Home-Button at the center.
When there is an incoming call and i anwer it, i cant "close" the call by myself, because i simply cannot access the menu once the phone is in standby-mode when talking longer than 20 secs.
The strangest thing happens when I call somebody else: i cannot close that call e.g. when nobody answers, i have to push home-Button or On/Off-Button a thousand times in order to get a short response from my phone where i see the dialer menu for like 2 seconds...
Somebody got an idea?
P.S.: Is it normal that LauncherPro-Background is bugged in Gingerbread-ROMs? It sometimes shows a black background while only the dock shows the part of the background i actually set.
Regards.
Aww i really want to get these problems solved :/
I'd realy like a solution on that aswell, it's very anoying
Well the launcherpro bug is because ram memory is full and launcherpro needs to reload himself. I don't have the first problem on cm7, which rom do you use?
I was on Darkys 9.5 extreme edition when this problem occured. In addition to that problem also occured when i was on a doc rom - irealy have no clue why.
I am currently on Darkys 10.1 but couldnt test if the bug ia still there when calling or answering a call.
