hi guys, i recently "accidentally" updated my 1.something version of this app to the latest 2.0 one. since the 2.0 version can only be used in donut and above, i, as a cupcake user, cant use it. is there, by any chance, that any of you guys have an apk file of the older version? thanks so much!
P.S. i tried to email the developer but he doesn't reply..

Ok I have flashed this update. I have goldcard created but Recovery no longer works as I expected.
So can anyone tell me how to get recovery+root back?
The Kernel version is 2.6.29-g6561203.
And yes it's definately 1.6.
Your out of luck... you should flash already rooted version from lgstoian in other thread.

A ready rooted version of the Rom released this morning by HTC???
Is there no way to use the gold card to recover?

Its pretty cool.

I reflashed my hero last night with NFX-Hero, and before flashing it i was able to install and use the updated Swype keyboard. But after flashing the download says my Hero isn't correct or more correctly
The ID of this phone does not match your registration at beta.swype.com​
Not sure if anyone has a solution, but i would appreciate it if maybe i could get some input.
Currently i'm using the old Shapewriter keyboard as my backup, but i would really like to get the ability of swype back.

Hey, I tried to install a few different downloads and can't seem to get the keyboard to use swype. I tried to link you posted and still can't get it to work. I hate the htc hero that first came out and have all the system updates installed. Please help!
I've had the same problem before. Either use titanium, terminal, or adb, and remove swype and installer. Reboot, and download again. (I'm assuming you are a beta tester....) There's some good info in
the swype forums ....

If you're still on 2.1 you probably have a carrier specific ROM, in which case you have the same answer you got the last time you asked:

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, I'm sure it is, but nothing really makes sense to me at this stage. I've used Apple products before, so this is all new to me. Yes I'm aware how frustrating it is explaining what you think is basic **** for the hundredth time to some guy who just created an account to ask this question, but I'm different I swear, help me out!
I've just bought a GT-P1000T as it's compatible with the video input in my car.
It is currently running firmware 2.2, kernel 2.6.32.9, build FROYO.DVJJ3.
From what I can see, Android is currently at version 5...? So my questions are: what's the latest firmware I can get just using the normal update? Do I need to jailbreak/root/whatever to get a newer firmware? Is it worth it? As in, will it run slower, or are the jailbreaks/roots unstable?
And if it is worth it, what's the process for upgrading?
Also how do I even update normally? I can't find that menu haha...
