Tap Tap Revenge (Demand It) - G1 Apps and Games

It appears that Tapulouse the developers of ever so popular iPhone applications such as Tap Tap Revenge, Twinkle, Fortune and now Collage, are eyeballing the Android platform for a port of Tap Tap Revenge. A developer has commented saying, “if there is a lot of demand for it, you never know . . ."
Sounds like it is all in the hands of Android users at this point. Tap Tap Revenge is the iPhone equivalent to Guitar Hero. With the same basic concept, this application puts your rhythm skills to the test in all new ways. Tap your way through the basic beat of a song or shake left and right as the arrows fall.
Right now Tap Tap Revenge is free for the iPhone with more than 40 free songs. Tapulous has even released a Nine Inch Nails version of the popular game for NIN fans. Best of all they offer Tap Tap Thursdays where every week they feature a free new exclusive track from top artist. If that wasn’t enough they also offer weekend contests and giveaway prizes that range from iTunes giftcards to backstage passes to meet your favorite rock stars. Tap Tap Revenge has been on my iPhone since day one, now I want to see it on my G1! How many of you would also like to see Tap Tap Revenge in the Android Market?

This was posted the 14th of November 2008. How about all of us that want this game go over to their website and start demanding ? Or post a comment as your demand on here, maybe they'll come across this thread some how and consider porting the game to the android phone.

yeah thats one of the few things i missed when leaving the iPhone scene... id love to see tap tap for android. i remember playing tap tap before it was even in the app store lol

I sent an e-mail to the company when the NIN version was released. I never heard back.
Guess I will give it another try.

Flyer- first 3D game in marketplace

Hey all, I recently posted a game utilizing the 3D capabilities of the G1 to the Marketplace called Flyer.
It's a game where you fly around as a jet and try to destroy enemy jets.
It's currently in a very early build but is up so I can get feedback now, when it's easy to change things.
How to play:
Hold the phone sideways in front of you(in landscape mode)
Tilt left/right to roll
Tilt up/down to pull up or down
Press trackball to fire machinegun
Of Note:
Enemies are currently just green boxes but do behave somewhat intelligently
You can't die yet
Next Release:
Main Menu
Possibly a death sequence
Let me know what you think of it!
Don't listen to the market comment goons, this shows a lot of potential. Keep it up!
yea...the market goons are worthless...come here for the "real" comments.
keep up the good work.
i think more than half the comments i see in the market come from 16 yr old. i like this game
This game shows a lot of potential, the market people who comment are idiots who say first all the time
Is the game good? No, it's pretty much terrible.
Does it have potential? **** yeah.
Graphics for sure, enemy planes, I would make the view in 3rd person, and show a small jet instead of cockpit view. Keep up the good work, it'll get there.
Just got my G1 like 5 hours ago (After a curfuffle with a postman xD) This was one of the first Apps I downloaded to test the accellerometer and it's frickin awesome! Sure way to kill 10 minutes or so, and yeah it has potential. Maybe a Gyro to show your current heading could be added, that way I can tell if i'm upside down or not!
Could you integrate google satellite view into it?
i suspect that would slow it down, but would make it way fun.
either more targets, or more maze like capabilities.
right now it's very flight simulatorish.
God you wanna talk about a little curfluffle with the postman to get it? FedEx was supposed to deliver mine on New Years eve and the delivery man filed that the road was blocked. I called their headquarters, raised hell about it, they checked into it, he changed it to local holiday (meaning a business was closed for delivery) on a residential shipment. They finally made him come back (which was an extra 30 minutes both ways) and deliver it. He refused to even drive all the way down my driveway, he parked halfway down and stood next to the truck until I walked up to get it from him. The lesson of this story, if you're a delivery man and wanna go out and party on new years eve, do your freakin job first or else it'll just cost you more time.
You have done a great job man! Increadible potential. Atleast we can see that 3d is on its way! Keep up the good job. Afterall bding games takes hundreds of people some time so you've a great job!

Tap Tap Revenge on Android

I have started a petition on facebook to bring ttr to android, join if you want ttr on android

wtf is ttr?
Tap tap revenge, its a top rating Rhythm game on the iPhone/ipod touch, if this game came to android, it would really help it out, and be the top rating game in the market
There already is a port of frets on fire, so why you want TTR? It is such a limited game, i tried it on my itouch and hated it from the first second...
In my opinion, i prefer Tap Tap Revenge
TAP TaP is awsome
i have an iphone but dont use it because no keyboard
2 day got g1. no tap tap need it
Yea because the Android platform totally has multi touch, and intuitive touch screens that could keep up, and an music store to link from the game to it to make even more money.
And a dev banking in as he claims near a million a week, he'd REALLLLYYYYYYY want to come to Android when he's just going to get **** head 1 star comments saying force closed
it needs better controls
No Droid support
No Cliq support
It lags.
etc.
STFU.
I'd rather see Android turn up good 8bit arcade games or rpgs like Hexage did with Radiant.

chill out. most roms have multitouch anyway
I <3 TTR
I play it on all my friends itouch/phones and the game is awesome and a fun way to make the time go by. IF you think about it android just came out a few years ago (08) and the iphone came out in 07 the iphone picked up all of their developers in their first years. its kind of hard for android to keep up when apple has the ability to pay all of these people to make most of their apps to do alot of things android cant do. I feel like both the iphone and android systems have surpassed the windows phone in so many ways, and in some ways i feel like android is better than iphone. but all im really asking for is TTR lol.

This game is coming along great.
I'd say once you have a good number of levels built and the graphics tightened up, you're fully entitled to charge for your hard work! Or perhaps always have a free basic version, but have to pay for advanced features like the level editor?
Great fun anyway, thanks
Want to compliment you on an excellent game. It's coming along nicely. The latest updates greatly improve the gameplay. Would like to see the implementation of tapping the screen anywhere to activate the chicken's special features. Tapping directly on the chicken can be a pain.
That's by far the best WP7
Game out there. Thank you.

I'm not sure how I'm going to make money from this, I'm really glad I released the beta but I don't want to charge people after playing it. What I might end up doing is releasing a big massive level pack of something and charging for that, but hopefully there will be at least 60 high quality 100% free levels for everyone to play as that's what I'm aiming for by version 1.0 which will be free I think what I'll end up doing is turning the original game into a trial with the 60 levels as well as simultaneously releasing a 'light' version containing the 60 levels, that way hopefully people won't think 'trial' means limited, I think 60 levels is plenty of fun for everyone especially for $0. Actually I'm still not too sure, 60 levels might be too much or too little for a trial, I don't want to put people off playing the game because the trial is too short but I don't want to make the trial so long and epic that people never get around to finishing it (therefore have no motivation to buy the full version).
At any rate the full version will hopefully be going for $0.99, if I can't beat Angry Birds in sheer content I can at least beat them on value for money.

I'm glad you like the latest update, I'm aiming to make future updates even better, specifically I'm looking into tweaking the way objects break and making it so that you can fire the cannon like it were a slingshot, as well as adding a tracer so you can see the rough path your chicken will take when you fire. If you have any suggestions do please throw them my way
Oh and you don't have to tap on the chicken to use its power, what makes you think you have to?

Sorry, maybe I just wasn't doing it right. It seemed I tapped several time elsewhere on the screen and nothing happened but when I specifically tapped the chicken, it did its special feature. But I do love this game. It has so much potential and I believe...just my opinion, now...that once you have it perfected, MS might try to buy it or partner with you. [thinking of Halo] There's no doubt MS wants an Angry Birds type blockbuster game. Yours has that potential.
From what you've done, you are an extremely talented dev and I wish the best for you.

I don't really think so. People would have to pay for angry birds, wouldn't they? But even if not, I think both games can coexist without any problem. I mean, I loved Angry Birds on Android. But you know what's better than one high quality games of a certain type? Two high quality games of that certain type. And yours is definitely high quality. No doubt about that, mate. Excellent job.

I think they will co-exist nicely, depending on pricing as you know MS will prob charge £3.49 or more for Angry Birds going by the price differences between WP7 and iOS apps

I hope you're right, I'm going to be pricing this at the $1 mark and pushing more free content so hopefully that will make up for the fact it's not angry birds
A lot of people giving the game reviews want more levels, so I've released 0.6 now, it doesn't have eerything I wanted to put into it but..
In addition to five more levels the cannon now behaves like a slingshot (i.e. pull back to fire), if you move your finger to the right side of the cannon you dis-engage it.
If you're pinching or dragging the camera around there is no chance of activating the cannon.
The camera will go back to its last position/zoom setting after a chicken has finished being fired (and stopped moving). This only works with ch
ickens when their special power is not activated.
Level loading speeds have been dramatically increased, after an initial ~7 second wait for the first level to load the rest will load very quickly (almost instantly) until the app closes The reason for this is that content is now shared between all levels.
And here's a teaser screenshot of one of the new levels: http://imgur.com/fNYH3
I think there are about five new levels in the update, I'm sorry I couldn't make it more, I have a day job and it's 2am (I get up at 6 XD).
I will be working on more levels so by the time this gets approved I'll hopefully have v0.7 ready for submission
Release date is whenever Microsoft approves the update (hopefully sometime later this week).
So I've hopefully addressed the annoyances with the clumsiness of the cannon and now levels load much faster (after the first load anyway) so that should be good. On my Omnia 7 there are no load times, it's circle in/circle out.

If you are going to keep it free indefinitely then perhaps you should open source it so that other devs and join in and improve the game?
If you alone could make something that's so close to Angry Birds, imagine what a group of devs could do. It just needs a bit more polish, but it's oh so close.

Hey Xoomers, Bang Bang racing is now in the Tegra zone market....enjoy!!! They originally told me it'll be out next week, better now than later!!
UPDATE: The developer has listened to our comments an will add new control options in a future update to the game, resembling the controls like Reckless Racing! The current controls are not bad once you get used to them...love the graphics though

Is it good?
This will probably be my first purchase from Market. Yesterday Google finally enabled paid apps for 99 more countries, including the country where I live.
I bought the game about an hour ago. I am not a fan of the control system. I was hoping it would grow on me but after an hour it still isn't great. I hope they incorporate something better in an update.

What are the controls like? Tilt/Sensor or touchscreen?
[edit] decided to give it a go, dissapointing for £4.90, refunded it The control system is odd, dragging my finger in front of the car to dictate where it should go, at the same time obscuring my own view, isn't fun :/

Got this... doesn't really disappoint. The control scheme as-is (luckily there's a more traditional one coming) isn't half bad, but takes a lot to get used to.
There's no practice mode though. I ended up using Time Trial as my practice. Not a bad start.
I bought it, played for 5 minutes and gave up in disgust at the controls. But, I figured that I'd let them keep the eight bucks rather than take the refund since I want to support people that make games for the Xoom.
Played it again later for about 20 minutes and started to get the hang of the controls. At this point I was having fun even though the controls were still frustrating, so I decided to run down to Best Buy and spend $20 on a stylus. The controls are WAY better with the stylus keeping my big hands out of the way and preventing my hands from getting sweaty so that they stick to the screen.
Love the game now. As an added benefit, the stylus is pretty cool in its own right and now I'm awesome at Fruit Ninja, too.

Bang Bang Racing-please support developer with comments!

Hey Xoomers! Just spoke with the developer of Bang Bang Racing, the game has recently been updated again to fix the control looseness as we requested, and they are really spot on now, I have no issues at all now! They have also lowered the asking price to $3.98..which some people seem to be complaining over if you read the comments in the marketplace. The Developer has been really helpful in making the game work as we requested, and all developers drop prices on their games to attract new buyers etc so I dont know why some people are crying over a price drop. The developer has asked that members of XDA show our support by helping with some positive feedback in the marketplace, so please take two minutes just to acknowledge the fact that they have really been listening to all of our requests. We need to keep developers like these working on android...please pass the word and thank you guys!!
Also, if you have any suggestions, post them on the marketplace...they are open to all ideas to really make this game enjoyable for us all!
i am very happy to hear this.
i love the graphics and style of the game, the controls are the only thing holding it back.
im glad the company realizes this.
i am not expert on gaming and development but maybe just a simple left and rigth button at the bottom of the screen will do. maybe even throw in automatic acceleration to make it simpler?
thats what ive been thinking.
id love to hear about what the developers are throwing around in terms of new controlls. anyword?

hey there..nothing solid yet, but from our chat we may have more than one additional control option, one option may be the tank-like control option in reckless racing or something very similar. This game would be a blast to play and look at once the controls are fixed and our fingers are not blocking the screen. I will pass our info to the developer with your screen name
You can tell them that I love it. It's the first game besides Fruit Ninja that I've found entertaining enough to actually play.
The current controls are a little odd, but I've started using a stylus and that works pretty good.
Offering a different control scheme would take a great looking game with just okay controls to a downright awesome game. Bring it!

Controls do take time getting used to, and I would also love to have a mini map displayed in the corner to see when the corner is coming.

Tell them to take a look at Reckless Racing for how to do the controls. If they can match the level of customization in RR I'd be hugely impressed.
Also maybe ask them if they would like us to beta test their future games because if they had done that I'm pretty sure BBR wouldn't of hit the market with the glaring problem we've all recognised straight away. It's surely better to be proactive rather than reactive.

I had informed the developer when the game was released to implement Reckless Racing controls. He stated that been though he personally hate RR's controls, he would look into adding that as an option. Good try on the beta testing though, but they have people doing that already
Once we have additional control options, I could not recommend this game enough! Looking forward to more tracks being added and maybe multiplayer support!!

1. If this game was produced for monetary gain (obviously it was) the developer was a little silly putting what he preferred into the game, it should be what the mass market would expect/prefer if their going for sales.
2. The beta testers failed big time if they never noticed how poor the game played with the current control scheme and/or weren't able to convince the developer his course of action was wrong.
The oversight has caused the game to be a 3-star game on release when imo it would easily been 4.5 stars but hats off to them for trying to fix it.
Yeah, this is a game that is just crying out for networked multiplayer.

Will there be a lite version? It's a little pricey if you end up not liking it.

I couldn't agree more. I bought this game, played it for 5 minutes (or tried to) and couldn't control the car at all. Refunded. The game looks great but the controls are not intuitive at all. I would not recommend this game to anyone unless the controls are completely changed.
Anybody tried the new controls ?, I'm holding off for a review or two before I repurchase.
Just got the update... there's four control schemes now.
From right to left:
Full Control - acceleration, brake on the right side, turn left/right on the left side
Auto Acceleration Control - brake on the right, turn left/right on the left side
Split Screen Control - left/right on opposite sides of the tablet, not grouped as above
Point Control - the old method of controlling
Won't lie, so far I'm falling into the Auto Acceleration Control, only braking when I have to, but Full Control does well too. The Split Screen mode is fine, but no braking kills me in the curves. But it's evenly spaced out, unlike the full control layout - the staggered layout of left/right is a bit unintuitive at first, but makes perfect sense a bit later.
Definite improvement. Have had a couple of FC's, but not sure why. This is a 4.5 out of 5.0 now in my eyes.

Glad you like the new controls. The force close seems to happen when you try to start the game from the android market after downloading. Please post all recommendations/feedback as the developer really wants to hear from us. I appreciate the fact that they actually listened to their customers, unlike some developers who make you wait months before updating, these guys got right to work on an update this monday! They will now have my full support as they are going to continue to support Android and Tegra!!
Addendum: The Split Screen method is my favorite. Hands down.
You get to control the car with the turns on either side - like I tend to hold my Xoom - and if you want to brake, slide your thumbs down. 4.75 out of 5.0 now. Having fun and actually getting into the top 5 now easier.
