My phone panel broke, so i decided to get replacement panels.
So i did the switching, but when the phone turns on, it's always on Landscape mode.
It doesn't respond to close/open of the keyboard.
Does anyone know how i can fix this? where is the sensor located and how do i make it detect the slider operation?

having some issues with my phone starting up and being dim. The only way to make it light again is to go to backlight settings and change them. Also when I slide the keyboard out, it doesn't make the noise and the screen doesn't adjust. I had a error with QuickGPs once and then my phone wouldn't stop vibrating. Any have this problem before or know how to fix it. Or some ideas on how to fix it. I fixed it once by sot-reset but it isn't working atm.
For the screen not rotating automatically, try going into the settings and manually changing the rotation to the opposite of what it should be in the current keyboard orientation and then back. Then try sliding the keyboard out and see what happens. I don't own a Kaiser yet, but the Tilt I was playing with at the ATT store seemed have this issue and doing that fixed it. It could also be that the mechanism that's used for sensing the keyboard open/close is broken. I believe someone said it's magnetic. I'm not sure though.
Hi All,
Recently my Tilt started rotating the screen back and forth as though the slider has been extended then back in...but i'm not even toughing the phone!
Has anyone seen this?
It renders the phone useless as it's always changing one way or another.
I've searched and found (for an old rom) a suggestion to disable device msi1 (oem_misc.dll) but that didnt work. Obviously just setting the display to portrait or landscape doesnt work either.
More immediately, Can anyone tell me a way to stop the auto-rotation or lock the display in portrait mode?
Secondly is there a permanent fix? How can I tell if this a sensor problem (ie. something in the slider malfunctioned and is sending the signal that the slider is out...then in...then out...) or a software problem?
Any help MUCH appreciated!
Ok so i took apart my N1 to clean the notorious dust from under the screen and wiped down the amoled screen and the back of the touch screen, seems to be going good...... well when i put it back together and turn it on (it turns on ok and display works) the touch screen dont work anymore, the light sensor does work and the soft keys work, and the track ball works just not the touch screen!! I did a clean install of cm6.1 to see if that would do the trick but no luck. im pretty sure i might have rubbed the tiiiiiny grid of wires under the digitizer the wrong way and broke some of them apart cause the light sensor and proximity sensor still work. Ok my question is how do i get past the set up screen and go straight to the home screen with no touch screen and only a track ball??? I can set it up to where i can trackball to wake instead of needing the swipe screen to wake?? Please tell me how i can bypass the set up screen, Thank you.

You can always get a new digitizer from here...http://www.htcrepairparts.com/htc-nexus-one-htc-passion-c-129_677.html?language=en
I have already replaced the digitizer before and dont wanna go through that again. I just wanna bypass the setup screen and be able to use the trackball as a temporary solution till i get a new phone.
I was lying down on my back. Hands up looking at phone. I watched some video. I viewed some pictures. I turned it off and shortly after I got up to plug it into the charger.
When I turned the screen on to verify my alarm was set, the screen is normally portrait in orientation was landscape. It would not rotate. So, I unlocked it in landscape mode, which is a tad awkward just because I'm not used to it.
The screen would only rotate into landscape, or portrait, but portrait was upside down! The buttons for back or home were away from me. Turn off screen and back on. Same thing. Lock screen landscape.
So, I figure I'll go do that calibration where you put your phone on a level surface. It pops up in landscape and all I could see was a letter G and rest was black screen.
Rebooting fixed the problem, but does anyone know if I might have hit something or if there's a fix without rebooting?

Personally this hasn't happened to me but I have heard of it happening. From what i have read and heard is that the proximity sensor for some reason gets stuck. i have heard of people using the old flashlight trick that was used on the M7 to fix it but a reboot fixes it every time. So I don't think you bumped anything. hope this helped .
hi guys. i recently replaced my cracked screen and after that i noticed that the auto rotate function isn't working properly. some times it's ok but sometimes like when i go to camera, and when I come back to menu, the screen is Locked on landscape mode and the only think I can do is to lock the device and unlock it to make the screen portrait.and after that i cant change the screen orientation att all unless i restart the phone.
Mostly the screen has a light that only noticeable in the quite dark place when the auto screen light is on after turning off the screen.
i had some problems with ambient light sensor and proximity sensor as well.
i once wiped the data i was thinking maybe it's a software problem but nothing changed
is it really a hardware problem? is the board or any parts damaged during the replacement?!
Same problem Here
I have the same problem, but it is with ambient light sensor and the proximity switch, when i go to the service menu (*#*#7378423#*#*) the proximity switch does not show up, when i press ambient light sensor it says ¨This device does not support this function¨.
This phone i just bought it a few this ago, i tried reseting customization, wiping data, flash another rom, Root... everything and no answer.
If u wipe and flash and still have the problem it is possible you have a hardware problem. Check all of ur water damage indicators to see if they are red. Also you could tell us your model.
