Any Tilt or Kaiser owners plan to upgrade to the Touch Pro 2? Does it seem like it would be a significant upgrade? I'm curious to what you fellow Tilt/Kaiser owners think...
I have the Tilt and have not upgraded to the Fuze. I was waiting for the next big thing that ATT was potentially was going to bring over and it seem like this is it. I love the device's design in every aspect; looks amazing physicaly. What i don't like is that they stuck it with a 3mp camera (and removed flash!). I absolutely love the 3.6" screen. Basically, i'm pretty sure i'll be upgrading (i saved my contract upgrade and rejected the Fuze for this reason).
Yeah, I'm going to buy Touch Pro2, the reasons why, larger screen, better hardware, 5-row keyboard, looks very very cool, more finger-friendly.
iphone. if lack of a hw keyboard is not a deal breaker. After owning 2 winmo phones (currently using a tilt) and modding many other peoples iphones, i can honestly say that the iphone is superior in usability/apps/stability. after drooling for a touch diamond and then hearing my friend say its laggy after he bought it, was a real disappointment. Microsoft is really behind the curve in the mobile sector. Thinking about selling my tilt for iphone now. Might wait till winmo 7 to come out before purchasing another winmo phone. For the record i'm a pc guy and i think apple products/fans our generally pretentious and kinda douche-ie (not all though).
Not sure about the Touch Pro2. I rarely .. if ever use my keyboard. I am waiting on the HTC Topaz for ATT..... drool.
I'm probably gonna go for the TP2. 800x480 screen!
They only issue i see with the device is that they've removed the d-pad.
HTC looks like they've put every good feature into this device, from FM Radio to TV Out. It looks perfect, and although a faster processor or a DPAD wouldn't hurt. And a 6.5 upgrade sounds good as well. I am certainly getting this phone.
Dave
good thing i passed on the fuze too...The Touch pro 2 will definitely be up there on my next phone list...And this will probably be the real successor to the tytn ii...I think it also matches the specs we had a few months back on the then phantom "TILT 2" that never showed up...until now...
TP 2.... is it worth sniffing at?
Does anyone know if it'll have proper 3D and 2 D DirectX and Direct Draw drivers included? I'm not wanting a HTC customised menu so much as full native support of the built in hardware within the operating system and parts thereof such as Pocket Mediaplayer itself. I'd like to use video playback without having to slash the frame rates and/or resolution as I have to with my Kaiser (even under TCPMP).
I'm concerned to read that although it has GPS support, it doesn't appear to list what software is provided to use this in the UK/Europe. Does this mean that it could be the TP all over again with HTC refusing to acknowledge any GPS problems that may crop up? Without a tried and tested native GPS app bundled with the device, it won't be one for me.
I'm very tempted - but I think I'll have to wait until I actually can put my hands on one in a shop to decide. I fear I will find it too large and/or thick for my liking. The Tilt is thick, but small. The iphone is large to the point I feel mixed with regard to the size in the pocket/screen comfort balance, but at least is thin. The TP2 will be large AND thick. And it loses the DPAD indeed, and I use that a lot
only a few people think it would be a worthy upgrade?
What's that saying, once bitten....

If those who currently have Kaisers (or TPs for that matter) get a feeling of déjà vu with the 'finished' product and its shortcomings (video drivers, keyboard performance, GPS time to lock and any lag, important bits/features missed out etc) then yes, you are correct. HTC need to learn from its mistakes and provide a product that actually meets peoples needs fully and reliably if they want those who've already been stung by them to part with cash on a new HTC product. Many people here have already said they'll never buy another HTC product due to all the problems they've had so you get an idea of the extent of feeling about such things!
I'm planning to get the TP2
- Higher resolution big and wide screen
- Larger battery
- Faster processor
- More internal memory
- 5 row keyboard
- TV out
- USB OTG
- New TOUCH FLO 3D with larger soft menu screens
- WM 6.5 (when HTC will make it available)
I'll miss:
- D-pad
- Jog wheel
- Buttons!

Or, there are people like me who are really happy with the Kaiser, and for whom it would take something really good to warrant a change. As said, I'll see the TP2 when it's there, but until then I don't plan to change at all.
If the cookers start cooking good roms and it can be unlocked ok then yes it looks lovely
I live in Toronto, Canada and I'm thinking about buying an unlocked x1a for to use with Rogers.
I'm about to drop some serious green on this phone and I'm wondering if there's anyone who has one that regrets buying it, and wishes that they got something else instead.
(x1a should work on Canadian 3g bands right?)
well,if you like to modify your phone (flashing roms, doing various performance tweaking etc), then X1 would be good for you. Its not that good straight out of the box,but after some modifications then it'll be a beast (performance wise)
unfortunately i dont know anything about 3g in canada,so i cant help u on that...
any regret on buying X1? well no...because after about 4 months this phone has been working beautifully on me, apart from that slight keyboard sensitivity problem. Everything else is fine though...although i might want to check out touch pro 2 when its out
after looking at the touch pro 2, there is definitely some regret.
No regrets at all. On the contrary, this device is a perfect mean between size, battery life, performance and stability. The keyboard takes some getting used to and I personally only use the SPB panel; I think the whole panel concept is useless, but the device is very good.
No regrets at all after dropping $1200cdn on it. If I were to buy a phone today I would still get the X1a. X1a works on Rogers here no problems.
I might if I had given 650€ (1100 CAD), but I bought it slightly used from a friend for 290€ (470 CAD) and I got his original receipt and warranty for the rest 22 months. So, for me it was a cheap phone and I can't really regret buying it.
Other than that, if I had given the full price, I would really expect the battery to last as promised, meaning at least 5 days and not 24-40 hours! (Maybe it will last for 5-7 days if you never use it).
No regrets. Maybe next time I could've bought the HTC Touch HD. Thinner, bigger screen, but no qwerty. HD is also slightly cheaper. However, for me it's perfect. Windows Mobile is awesome btw.
nope i wouldnt hv gotten anything else. i did consider the TouchHD and the Innov8.
but i wanted something that looks cool, fits perfectly in my palm and a qwerty keyboard.
its not a perfect phone but its awesome and i hv no regrets.
the only thing I dislike on my xperia is the embossed screen, as it make difficult to press X button... but remember that we have an hw key for that

I don't really regret it.
Although it isn't a cheap phone.
I was planning to buy a Touch HD, but I need a hardware keyboard.
Xperia is still in "in an early stage". I think SE is still busy with giving lots of support to developers and planning to make it a better product. This is just a matter of time.
if you need a new phone (i mean right now), it isn't bad to buy a Xperia
i absolutely have no regrets. About battery power, this is excellent. 9he people that dont get enough battery time are because they have tons of things installed and running, like pointui, s2u2, touchflow etc, etc. i can honestly tell you that from the 27+ phones i have had in the last 2 years, including iphone, n95, htc diamond, moto q9, n71, BB pearl, curve and countless others, that the experia beats all of them hands down in terms of battery life. The only thing i regret was how sony didnt think of the xperia earlier before i wasted my money on so many lesser pieces of hardware. I woukd buy the xperia again no hassles. I admit, no phones perfect, but to me, the xperia is pretty darn close.
PRK
Having a Symbian UIQ phone for over 5 years i was very reluctant to give in to the whole Windows Mobile idea. Sony Ericsson then dumped the UIQ platform and the X1i seemed like the ideal replacement for my old P990i.
I have to say i was impressed with the build quality of the X1i compared with the quality of P990 and P910i that i had previously the X1 is very solid and its form factor is great.
As for regrets, none at all. The only regret i have is that i have so many cooked ROMs to choose from on here that i flash my phone every other month just for the fun of it! haha
Thanks for all the responses. This is a really tough decision for me because I'm a super indecisive person. I do love modding and flashing my phone so that won't be a problem, reading a lot of reviews I find that reviewers can't really find anything wrong with the phone, whatever they say is bad with it is usually something trivial: cnet says the panel buttons are weird to press, mobilepower says the top row of the keyboard isn't laid out that great, etc.
My main concern is watching those "vs" videos on youtube like touch pro vs xperia, xperia usually doesn't come out on top, but people in the videos seem biased, and the comments usually point that out and say why the xperia is still a great phone.
I realize you guys are probably a little biased since you're all xperia owners, but I'm glad to see the majority of people are happy with it =)
I just hope the modding community can get android working for the x1a in the near future =)
I regret totally
after the first couple days or weeks of trying to figure it out...you will love it. if your brand new to WM it will consume your life trying to get it up to your needs then, your set.
She said, Is that all? Ive seen bigger.
Do I regret it? Humm... two words for Ya
hell no.
imho the best winmo device at the moment. first qwerty PDA which actually doesn't look like a massive soap bar.
no regrets.. it is a awesome phone.. i love it.. SE rules

ok mate a few things if i review the phone on cnet my self and show the real potential of what this phone can do it will blow your mind away. but i dnt have a cam neither alot of time.
i was just like you thinking of buying and reading mixed reviews and confused, but finaly one day i stabbed my wallet in the butt and bought this.
hardware wise the build quality is good, and overall it feels like a very solid device and exotic sort of device in hand.
as far as software goes ur in for a ride my first impression of it i was realy bad,it realy dissapointed me.
but as soon as you start flashing ur gona fell in love with your phone manila,tf3d,6.1,6.5 and ur gona start hating every phone except x1.

so true...
No regrets at all also.Even my wife is considering to drop her diamond and get x1 instead.( i really hope she do it asap)
I'm glad that I got an X1 to see how SE would go about making a WM phone, but I do regret getting one now. The cracks in the casing as well as backlight bleed on the screen corners spoil it for me.
It doesn't help that the Touch Pro2 (Rhodium) is almost exactly what I'm looking for.
Large WVGA screen
"Full" keyboard
Accelerometer
I'm sorely tempted to swap the X1 for a Touch Pro, buy a Touch Pro2 SIM-free and sell the Touch Pro to offset the cost.
Any reason?
Because I'm planning to get one, looking for some feedbacks and advices.
Is in dilemma between HTC diamond 2 and HTC touch pro 2
Nope. LOVE IT!
Hi!
I can only speak for my self, but I totally love the device. If I had to choose a different device, it would have been the TouchHD, with one of the new cooked ROMs that almost makes the HD into a "large" diamond2
I guest that some would like a hardware keyboard, but after installing FingerKeyboard 2.1 the need for a HW keyboard is totally vanished.
Regards,
PK
I did regret initially when i got the device as i was moving from iphone. The sensitivity was an issue. But now i totally adore it.. So many mods, themes and apps available for diamond 2. I am so used to the phone now

i had the same dilema.
There are some pros and cons, from my p.o.v., regarding TP2, and the first is price. Does it worth 100 e. (at least)? Only for kb, no. For the screen, yes, but then we have THD, wich is bigger! What remains? Super-extra feature: conference bla-bla... no thanks, i don't need that. Anything else? Oh, camera... 5 vs. 3 Mp., so worse. And no radio.
One more: now vs. "soon".
I choose NOW.
No regrets here
Hi there,
I also love it! There is only one thing I miss from my former Kaiser and that's the Scroll-Wheel for "one-hand" usage just operated by the thumb.
I hope to get the Zoom-Bar replaced for scrolling, though.
Regards,
JTGBDR
Me tooshort battery life. soft speakers.even tweaks etc dont improve that much
Really love the improvement from the Diamond I had before. Some outstanding apps. og programs
No regrets here. Love it to death. Will make babies with it.
TD2 is the best yet from HTC IMO
LUV IT!
I must say I have no regrets buying my Diamond 2,
But there are some minor ignorances that I encountered,
But I am sure either HTC will fix them, Or you are able to tweak them.
The not so good radio reception (in some countries with some providers) will need a new radio by HTC
The not rotating applications can be fixed by a minor tweak aswell.
One thing I seriously can't stand is the incompatibility with games )
Like Guitar Hero 3, it installs great, but doesn't start (Trial by Microsoft)
Although I think if the developers of the game would put in some effort, It would work in no time.
But that's just my opinion
I hope that you enjoy whichever phone you buy

no regrets at all.
Would buy it again. and again and again :-D

LOL, same here
However, this device is most suitable for POWER USERS (meaning: you love tweaking and installing new stuff on your device). If you need a phone for calling, SMS, e-mails and a little browsing, the iPhone 3G beats the diamond2 due to it's amazingly sensitive screen and UI.
Touch Pro2 is for business users. You get a keyboard, hence it's gigantic.
No regret at all, for me it is the best WM device at the moment, and currently I prefer WM over other mobile OS (do not like symbian, WebOs not here yet, Android not ready imho (and should be installable on the TD2 anyway), and I can not stand Apple policies (much more closed than microsoft starting from an opensource OS? yuck!)
I just have compared TD2 against HD, TD1, TP1 and Omnia this WeekEnd (visited a tech supermarket that add all the phones on demo to play with), and no question, the TD2 win hands down: best form factor, design and screen compared to the others. Some people may have other preferences, but the for me the TD2 hit the sweet spot: small enough, with a screen big enough and the highest resolution (and no need to go further - I would never have though to have to say it, being a resolution freak, but WVGA for 3.2 inches really is enough).
The things I would fix if I had to design the TD3 (HTC, are u hiring? ;-) ) would be more physical inputs (side wheel, more buttons, trackball maybe), slightly larger screen by reducing the borders, battery with higher capacity if possible keeping the device the same size, led flash (more for flashlight than for pics LOL), and digital compass.
Ho yes, and a different, scratch-resistant grippy back, with the possibility to use integrated flip screen cover à la Samsung Touchwiz ( http://www.letsgomobile.org/en/review/0076/samsung-f480/page3/ ). This is an excellent idea imho, the right balance between thin device and good screen protection...
And a proc that can record and play [email protected] H264 video without using more juice that the MSM7200a ;-)
Possible imho with the current technology at a price not much higher than the TD2, but then HTC would kill its upgrade revenues...
Waiting for this perfect device, the TD2 is the best approximation right now ;-)

I love my Diamond2 - had it from the day it was released in the UK. Before, I had the S710 which was a great little device but was a bit too early, didn't have 3G. I went for the Diamond2 as I think I spend more time surfing, reading news etc. on it compared to typing. That said, because it's a much more usable device, I am finding myself typing more - especially as got internet email from work.
It would be perfect but I have the following little gripes:
I don't like the way you have to answer the phone by sliding the bar. I just can't get the hang of it and tend to end up cancelling the call.
I wish it had some form of flash - but the photos it does take when the light is good are excellent. The widescreen is an interesting mode
For some reason, it starts running really slowly after a while. For example, the rather cool animation effect when flipping through text messages becomes much slower. As does whizzing up and down the list of emails. I suspect this is a problem with Garmin XT as it does seem worse after using that program. Powering down and back on fixes it.
The battery takes a long time to charge when used in a cradle. The cradle has both USB power and data (I'm aware USB alone is slower charge). The device runs very hot during charging. When ActiveSync is running, it keeps the display/device running and I suspect it's discharging almost as fast as it's charging. Shame it can't run of pure mains power when plugged in and charge the battery separately.
There aren't enough cool apps to make it really complete with the iPhone! Where's the pouring beer and fishing game apps???
Cheers, Rob.
Some slight compatibility issues put aside (since I'm a total smartphone & ppc noob) I simply love this one!.
It does irritate me that some stuff really needs to be a special version (like coreplayer, which I've tried over and over again, but only the 1.2.5 buil 4506 would actualy install and run) But in the end, you only need one version anyway. Just hope it is the newest version....
It'll probably be fixe when new roms come out. Diamond 2 is quite a new piece on the edge...

Hi guys!
I'm from the Elfin forum and I'm decided to buy a new phone, so I'm confused to choose between XPERIA and Omnia.
After search about both phone specs I was surprised to know that XPERIA is HW 3D capable and that it's almost or fully capable to run M2D 3D, so I'm almost sure to buy a XPERIA phone instead of Omnia.
I would like to know from you (people that really use this phone ) how is the phone on day by day use, with games and emulators, etc in overall aspects.
Sure about your help, thanks a lot!
Are you serious gonna buy a phone because it has manilla 3d?
Ok manilla 3d runs same as on the htc phones.. but this qualcomm cpu aint So good for other 3d purposses like games
If you can get a cheap xperia x1 sure go ahead but dont pay top price for it..
Since most of the xperia's will eventually get cracks or other problems..
you could also look at touch pro 2 it has bigger screen, tv out, g-sensor and 1 row more keys. (altho that one has the same cpu and tp2 is way more expansive)
you could also wait for other phones with the qualcomm snapdragon or nvidia tegra cpu's those 2 should come out soon i guess.
I'm in Brazil guy, on the local providers the most advanced phones are iPhone (isn't a smatphone), HTC Diamond, Omnia and now XPERIA.
I thinked on XPERIA cause the HW 3D and physical qwerty, and after for M2D 3D that's pretty cool interface.
The price for these phones on the Brazil providers it's about $700, are you think it expensive?
You sure, there are phones most capable, with g-sensor, tv-out, larger screen..., but about these I did mention, in your opinion, how is the best?
About the games, how it was?

Well ok mine didnt get cracks but the screen is going blue when sliding out (after repairs..) (before repairs it went out when sliding open)
So yes .. the phone has weird problems altho not every one will experience these
(yes i know a cable is loose and giving wrong colors but hey.. its a stupid problem because i didnt drop it ..)
Hi guys,
I had checked the ebay and the offers are about $500 for new phones, and $350 for used ones. In fact it's not so different of the prices in Brazil's operators
I readed something about cracks in some devices, but maybe it's a fault in some of first manufactured lot or else bad quality material that was used, that certainly already was changed on new manufactures.
But I want to know about the overall performance, if the device is really fast as the Diamond or Omnia (that are my other options of buy).
In truth, I'm discarding the Diamond because it has no SD slot, so I can't expand its memory.
Considereing the Omnia x XPERIA, I'm loosing a 5 megapixel camera, g-sensor, a little more speed processor and a little more large screen? But on XPERIA I'm getting a physical qwerty that maybe more useful that g-sensor, the 3.2 mp camera that is already more efficient than the 2 megapixel from my Elfin, double RAM and ROM, and the rest I think are equivalent.
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone2=2246&idPhone1=2422
What you can say about the day by day use?
I'm using both the Omnia and Xperia at present, but am prefering the Xperia...
Even though the Omnia has a 5mp camera, the X1 3.2mp is more than sufficent for random pictures, obviously not something you'd take holiday snaps with.
The lack of G-sensor is a blessing, it really annoyed me on the Omnia and usually I turned it off as the screen would change orientation when least expected.
Even though the screen on the X1 looks quite a lot smaller compared to the Omina, the quality is far superior in both touch response, colour and resolution, you can really tell the difference after using the X1 and then going back to the Omnia.
As for speed of use, I'm using the PCTECH WM6.1 custom rom which is amazing. Very responsive, speedy and with NO bugs or crashes I've come across from using for the last 3 weeks. It really does make the Xperia a joy to use.
Using the hardware keyboard is a joy from using the onscreen Omnia keyboard, now I can write so much without typos. My friends now know what I'm trying to say when I text them.
...but there are downsides to the Xperia v Omnia...mainly the sound that comes from the X1's speaker. The speaker quality is awful, the sound is very tinny and quiet. Without tweaking the Xperia to increase the ring volume it's almost unhearable, as for listening to music from it don't even bother, where as the Omnia's speaker quality is very good. It's loud and of great quality.
There also seems to be an issue with video playback on the X1, in that unless you downsize the resolution of the video's it's very choppy, where as the Omina is spot on.
Internet browsing for the X1 is MUCH faster than on my Omnia for some reason too.
Also I like the Xperia as it's more substantial when in your pocket. It's heavier and thicker than the Omnia but at least you know it is in your pocket. A lot of the time I wasn't sure if I'd lost my Omnia from my pocket due to it's slim size and light weight.
It's really what you want out of your phone as to which one to get.
I at present am enjoying the Xperia as my phone of choice rather than the Omnia, it just depends whether the ring tone issue bothers you that much.
Both are great Win Mo phones so either way you're getting a good phone which is highly customizable
I am X1 owner for half a year. The phone is very good regarding functionality and design, however it is rather slow. I am using official R2A firmware, I have read it gets faster with the newest R3A or custom ROMs - haven't tested it. And I must say I cannot compare it to other WM phones since I've never had any. For me it is a very basic requirement to be able to listen to music, have my RSS Reader App open and load a page in Opera and switch between these apps rapidly - the X1 doesn't manage this very well, gets stuck and you have to wait for some time. But as I've said, I don't know about other WM phones and to be honest I don't believe they are so much faster. As for gaming, the X1 is definitely not a gamer's choice. You can play NFS and stuff very well but there aren't so many cool WVGA games. I had big trouble running emulators. PS1 emulator works but with about 2 FPS, GBC emulator is almost well-playable without sound. That's it. If you want a phone for playing games, the X1 is not the right device for you.
from my opinion, xperia is neaerly a year old. x2 is already coming really soon, well, within the next few months then, furthermore, HTC leo is more powerfull, but most probably lacks a hardware keyboard... so... if I were you, i'd wait a few more moments... look around on different websites to see new phone previews etc. etc. and for games... well, maybe you shouldconsider an iphone 3G, wich, is also a year old and may be much cheaper now, but it let's you play games for dayzzzzzzz
it is expensive from ebay, you can by cheap phone from us
Dear buyer,
the phone which in ebay is expensive ,as seller must pay ebay cost. we has a eshop, www.nowsupplier.com, you can find more mutil function unlock cell phone ,it is cheap and new. you can pay by credit or paypal.
the screen!
dude! dont forget the screen! i cant believe noone mentioned this before!
yea the omnia screen is slightly larger, but the xperia screen has MUCH higher resolution!
omnia is a measly 400x240 while xperia is a whopping 800x480!!
considering screen size/resolution,, the xperia has almost 5 times the res of omnia! pair that with coreplayer and xperia is a hel of alot better to watch movies on!
also the media panel is great, smooth flick scrolling and amazing sound quality add up to a great music device.
go for xperia dude, definitely
although 700 is too much, it goes for 450 now brand new in lebanon.
ehjoy!
Hi guys!
Thanks a lot for all your comments and opinions, it will be very useful for me and will help me to decide.
I'll evaluate all data you provide me, before decide and to buy.
Thanks a lot! Who knows in a very soon future, we'll be all together in a same board
Hey all.
Today, you would be a diamond 1 or HD/Diamond 2 ?
Iv'e heared diamond 1 is slow, and her touch sceen is crap.
Well, depends on how you look at it. Of course the phone can be slow and such, but with minor tweaks to TF3D and to the registry, you can get the phone real smooth. Out of all those you said, I would pick HD because it got a 3,5mm jack and a bigger screen
Dont get a Diamond 1. You'll be investing un old(er) tech. I would get a Diamond 2 or TP2. I'm using a BB Bold at the moment which i prefere to the Diamond.. I'm sticking with RIM untill WinMo 7 comes out natively on devices.
If the previews of the Zune HD are anything to go by then Win Mo 7 will be worth the wait and i'll be ditching RIM in a heartbeat as they just dont have the same quality of software base available possibly due to restrictions of what memory is available to programs whilst there running. But, what they do well is the basics you'd expect of a communications device. Email, phone calls, even the mp3 player is much better sound quality than on my old Diamond
The efforts of the ROM cookers on this forum is excellent and Im sure MS are taking on board comments from web sites like this but a chef is only as good as his ingredients and the ROMs being leaked at the moment are full of bugs.
This is obviously just my own opinion on the subject though
i prefere the diamond 1 its cheaper , cooler , got the look , have a lot of developers here , alot of ROMS , does not have any manufacture problems like the diamond 2 or the pro 2
Aqrab, what manufactues problem are you talking about??
Artieq, iv'e didnt meant about the screen size. iv'e heared its a fingerprint nightmare...and also it have poor battery life.
I can get diamond 1 in 225$, and diamond2/HD in 480- 500$
spikeuk76, what are you talking about ?
"Dont get a Diamond 1. You'll be investing un old(er) tech. I would get a Diamond 2 or TP2. I'm using a BB Bold at the moment which i prefere to the Diamond.. I'm sticking with RIM untill WinMo 7 comes out natively on devices."
What TP2 is ?
BB bold?
RIM?
WINMO 7 ?
Well, now i need to decide between the diamond 2 to the HD. it's a very hard decision

Yeah, that also were the main reasons for me to buy a D1.
D2 has a bigger screen, more RAM, better Cam, microSD card slot and a battery with more capacity. If you need one of these and are willing to invest much more than the D2 is your device.
In my opinion the D1 runs very smooth even with demanding apps. Remember also, D2 has the same chipset.

Hello
I'm gonna make alot of skype calls (wifi) with the device
The device can't replace music player like COWON D2+
Same chipset? what? and the hd have the same also ?
It's not that i need to add alot of money to buy the hd/diamond 2.
I'm afraid the diamond 1 will be slow, fingerprint nightmare, and bad battery.
I think the best for me will be hd/diamond 2.
Well, you are right about the battery life and fingerprints, but the phone itself IS SMOOTH AS SILK (for me).
Well diamond1 is in different level compared to D2 & HD because is a lot cheaper and have less ram and rom.
So between thous two I would go for diamond 2, because it's little smaller than HD, and other specks are the same, except the HD has 3.5 jack & bigger screen.
So it's depends what you like - need, bigger screen 3.5 jack, get HD, I like a little smaller device, that could comfortably fit in my pocket, so I would get D2!
Yeah, its alot cheaper, i can get diamond 1 in 225$, and diamond2/HD in 480- 500$.
But diamond 1 has few bad things that has been fixed in hd and d2, don't you think so?
Anyway, i don't know if i need a big screen. i will mostly use it to make fring (skype) calls, and in 4-6months, i will use the software teamviewer that will be released.
I will not use the device for playing music, because the cowon d2 from what iv'e heared, have better sounds quality.

Wifi is an absolute battery drainer. D2 has indeed 200mAh more capacity but also a larger screen. You might wanna go with the D1 HTC 1340mAh "extended battery". Although that one requires another back cover which makes the devices thicker.

HD also features the Qualcomm chipset.
From what I and many others can say the D1 runs perfectly smooth - but yes, it is a fingerprint magnet (as will be D2/HD) and its battery is small. I bought a second one but only for heavy usage (eg navigation on the bike). Otherwise it offers me a reasonable lifetime even when listening to music for hrs.
Hey
lol why buy other device when you can just buy an HD/diamond 2
I think i will go over the diamond 2... i will see it in a store and then decide.
thank you.
Hello all,
I have a lot of Problems with this VPA. Now it makes all, but not what I want. After a start it runs fine, but after a Hour it makes silly things.
I will now try a lite Rom or anything else.
Thanks a lot to all hard Workers on custom Roms
today i sold my diamond. thx foe god...i just wanna thx to all xda members who helped me modding and ypgrading..but after i saw the iphone, tired that famous multi touch...i just sicked and tired of changin roms, etc...
hope one day when winmo will have multi touch, changable rongtones and such litle things i will back to htc devices...
cheers...
Can't comment on multi-touch, but pretty sure every Windows mobile device I've had since my first Magician has supported changing ringtones, in fact I actually found the adding of ringtones to be more hassle on the iPhone than it ever was on any of my Win devices. (I recently sold my iPhone 3G in favour of getting a new Windows Mobile device)
Just been offered the Diamond for free on a £20/month contract, so seriously considering going for that unless something else is available
