whenever i try to flash any hero rom it stops at copying files then says

Which rom?
Did you edit anything?
partition?
Do you have root?
What spl?
any hero rom

and im not sure what spl
you need danger or Haykuro, there both the same.
ok ill try flashing that see what happenes
i flashed the danger spl and now it says failure at line 363

I've just rooted etc
Now im installing DrizzyJac 2.7.3 sym/bind apps2sd
And i checked the ext file systems
They were ok, Then i wiped, then flashed but about half way done flashing it tells me error at line 58???
So should i redownload the rom again then try to reflash or what??

Do you have the new Radio and SPL?
I have the new radio and spl
And ive redownloaqded at least 10 times
all with the same result
i formated my card sevral times as well still the same outcome
Its it just a reall bad batch of downloads in row???
You don't have new spl. Flash it again. I promise you that you dont
restart your phone with Camera+Power. if you dont see HBOOT-1.33.2005. then you dont have the newest SPL.
I am using a G1. I have have been running Cyanogen ROM's for a while now.
I wanted to try a HERO ROM. I pulled jachero2.3.6 and kingklick1.6.
I booted into Cyanogen 1.4 Recovery, performed my backup, and flashed the HERO ROM's. They both failed with E: can"t chown/mod/system/xbin/nano (No such file or directory)
E: failure at line 42: set_perm 0 0 04755 SYSTEM:xbin/nano
Installation aborted.
Anyone got an idea if I'm doing something wrong?
Do I need to complete reformat my Card and recreate my ext partitions?
That would suck.
First, do you have the newest radio and danger spl? If so you need to wipe, wipe ext, flash, wipe, boot.
hm...sounds weird... try mligns new hero. its like 2.49 or something? his are always super fast and really good...what size sd card and what class do you have? what about the size of your partitions?
Hi everyone, so after I flashed to cyan's latest 4.1.9999, I can no longer flash a hero rom. During the update process of MLIGN's 2.5.7, KingKlick's 1.9, and MghtyRed's 1.9.1, i get this error or something very similar to it during the update. This is towards the end of it when it is Formatting system and copying files.

BTW: I did wipe, wipe ext, repair ext, wipe and then updated. I even wiped dalvik-cache after ext wipe before as well. So i know how to wipe etc and haven't had problems with updating to hero's before in the past. Not sure what the deal is now...

Sounds like a SPL problem to me. Update to Haykuro's Death SPL and try it again.
Are you sure the danger spl flashed properly?
Have you tried re-downloading the roms you are trying to flash? A bad dl (though unlikely with 4 different roms) could casue problems. Might have just had bad connection when you grabbed them.
Can you install other non-Hero roms from update rather than restore?
If all else fails whip out dreamimg.nbh and start over.
I recently tried to flash the sensehero 1.4 and here is what I did, I first wiped everything in recovery, then partitioned the card, ext2 to 3, ext 3 to 4, then connected to my pc, put the rom on my root of my card, then back to recovery, i wiped again, then flashed and, it gets to coping files and this is what it says:

Well, one piece of information that could fix this whole problem is the spl. What spl do you have?

I'm useing spl 1.33.2005 , I think it is danger spl.
I think that rom supports ext4 but if it was me, I would try re-partitioning and stopping at ext3. Just a thought. Also I would check the md5 check sum for the download or just re-download. Good luck.

I have an HTC G1/Dream PVT 32B with recovery RA-dream-v1.7.0,radio 2.22.23.02 & Hboot 1.33.2005. Its says I could use any SPL but this is the error i got after following instructions. I'm also rooted and did all the necessary wipes.

reflash or reinstall you recovery. happened to me after flashing xillius's rom cuz of the custommtd recovery
might have to wipe ext and make ext 4 what recovery are you using?
Wipe everything on your phone in Recovery. Reformat SD Card. Partition then do ext4. Search Super Wipe v2, download, and Put on Root of SD card. Flash the Zip, power off, then FLASH AGAIN!!!. Then Flash the ROM. This should work.
