Hi,
I have a Tytn II that my friend gave me but it is in Norwegian and I was wondering if there is any way to change this back into English. I have looked online and on the HTC support site but there is a ROM upgrade but when I enter the S/N it says that it is a software that wont work with this phone.
It is an unlocked HTC Tytn II and I'm stumped where to go from here. If anyone can provide some information how I can change this I would be very grateful.
Many Thanks....
Follow all >>this<< to flash HardSPL to your device and unlock it fully, then you can flash any rom regardless of manufacturer/language etc, onto your Kaiser. Plenty of roms on these forums so have a search for one you want to use.

Hi all,
Just bought myself a HTC Diamond on Orange yesterday, and have been browsing the forum to see what I can do in terms of customisation and other features of the phone.
The problem I'm having is that, after registering for HTC-UK's E-Club, I'm unable to find the Diamond on the Support page
[ http://www.htc.com/uk/Support.aspx ]
If I go to the HTC Europe Support page, the phone is there, but it says the ROM upgrade is not available for my phone after I enter my serial number.
The phone I have is not modified in anyway - by which I mean that Orange have seemingly kept the original HTC stuff on it...anyone have any idea as to how I can upgrade please?
Thanks.
Actually it worked in my friends HTC which we both bought from same place but when he entered his serial number in the eurpoe's htc site his S/N was recognised as dutch phone and he was able to download the copy of the ROM .
I think its just wait and watch game for UK rom to release
I dont know if u hae any idea about if i install this dutch rom and i have a problem am i unable to get my normal orange rom by doing hard reset ???
you can't upgarde a operator ROM whit the official HTC ROM.
For system updates you have to ask your operator, in that case Orange.

First off to you and others, please remember that this is a library, not an HTC help line. You walk into the library and search the shelves for the volumes that you need, then you open them and search through for your answers.
You don.t walk up to the librarian get a library card, drop off a paper with questions and then say, " I will be back in an hour for the answers " What you are asking is Kaiser modding 101 and you should have searched yourself first.
Follow every step here, to unlock your phone

I have searched in the forum and I have performed all the information that I found ... everything works except the unlock of the phone, I requested further help because the rom installed is Italian and I do not know if there is some other step to unlock the sim ... thanks

The rom has nothing to do with the sim. If you followed all the steps in mskip's tutorial, then your phone should be sim unlocked.
If you then flash an Italian rom, your rom will be in Italian. If you flash an English rom ,your rom will be in English. What exact result are you looking for ?
I'm trying to use the handheld with a sim H3G with Rom italian, I can use any rom it must be Italian also not original HTC (called rom cooked right? I am not expert on windows mobile) now you list what I did step by step :
1. I turn on the handheld
2nd when in windows mobile without sim and without the micro sd I connect to pc via usb cable, start KaiserUnlocker.exe, all three steps are completed successfully
3rd Restart handheld put the sim (at handheld off course) and I always Simlock top left on display.
4th I tried to copy the files on your handheld executable downloaded from xda forum, which unfortunately is English, but when I try to launch from the handheld, entering into windows obviously because I do not know how to start the executable in another way, I always say that not is the type of "phone" correctly, I tried one but more than anything, I would not have created a casino with the rom installed (currently there is RUU_Kaiser_HTC_ITA_3.29.408.0_radio_sign_25.83.40. 02_1.65.17.56_Ship)
thanks
Have you done everything here, step by step ? No shortcuts.

i am from South Africa and had a tytn 2 for more than 2 years. moved to Switzerland and got a new tytn 2 but it is in german and i don't understand a word. i downloaded almost all rom flashes but the phone reboot the moment the flash is not the german language contacted htc they say it is license restrictions can't change the language once it is loaded i don't believe that did a lot of reading and it seems some people managed to do it. now i am not that much of a techie so does someone please have a simple awnser for me.
I did a hardspl flash but phone is still in german and trying to flash with a english rom reboots the phone. flashing with a update german rom works fine.
Any help please
try unlocking the phone first.. flash a new SPL, radio , then the rom .. when the rom is flashed and asks for the screen calibration do a soft reset.. hopes this works for you.
Moved as not ROM Development.
no success.
Any other advice
Good morning.
Having looked around a bit, I kept getting directed to XDA Developers so here I am. From various searches I have found out the following and I just wanted to confirm it before going further.
My problem is that I bought a HTC Touch Diamond 2 phone yesterday and all the menus are in Dutch. Changing the language in settings only seems to affect the date display, everything else stays in Dutch. I want to change the whole lot to English.
I read that this is not possible within the OS and that I must install (flash?) a new OS / ROM thingy. I looked in your guide but the link to shipped ROMs gives a 404 error.
I looked on the HTC site and they have a Rom Upgrade Utility, however based on my phone's S/N HTC will only link me to an upgraded ROM in Dutch. The file they ogffered me is called;
_HTC Touch Diamond2_QMR_RUU_Topaz_HTC_NLD_1.39.404.4_Radio_Signed_Topaz_61.20t.25.10_3.43.25.19_Ship.exe
Clearly this isn't going to be what I want, so I played around with the S/N and eventually found a number that would link me to what I *think* is the right ROM
The downloaded filename is;
_HTC Touch Diamond2_QMR_RUU_Topaz_HTC_WWE_1.39.405.3_Radio_Signed_Topaz_61.20t.25.10_3.43.25.19_Ship.exe
I plan to follow the HTC site instructions to install this to my phone (so not installing hardspl or whatever that is), is there anything that I'm missing here? I suppose my concern is that I've randomly changed characters on the S/N until HTC oferred me what looks like the right file, but it could be for an older phone etc etc. In the event that I run this and it all goes t*ts up, I suppose I can reflash with the Dutch ROM from the HTC site to restor it to Dutch, albeit with an upgraded ROM?

The XDA-WIKI is down, that's why you get a 404 error.
For a list of available official ROMs you can go to HTCPedia or to my website htc-topaz.co.cc/website => Official ROMs.
You can try to flash one of the WWE ROMs without HardSPL, but I doubt that it will work. Usually the phone allows you only to flash official ROMs for the same language/region. But with a NLD phone and a WWE ROM it might work. If not, there will be no damage, as it simply will not flash.
Btw. 1.39 is not the latest official version. The latest have a 2.53 or 2.54 version number and are WM6.5. 1.39 is the latest WM6.1 version.
Hi all. This is my first time visiting this forum.I hope you can help me.
I have a htc touch pro2 and it is in german language. Can you please find for me a WM 6.5 for it because i want to upgrade it in english.I have HardSpl and Active SInc but i only need WM6.5.
I tried to download it in htc official page but it requires a S/N and when i put my S/N it says it is a wrong S/N.
Could you find for me a WM6.5 to download without requireing a S/N.
Thank you.
If you have Hard SPL installed, then flash any one of the custom ROMs in this forum.
I`m sorry but i didn`t understand. Can yoy explain to me please what do you mean?
Look I want to do this with my htc touch pro2:
I read this somwhere and I want to upgrad my HTC in this way also.
As you can see this is for HTC touch pro not for htc touch pro2 but someone said to me that it is the same work process.
hello
i have 1 htc touch pro in hand..
phone is in german languages and i want to change laguages to english...
any1 can help me to do this?? is it safe???
btw this link is a safe instruction??
So let’s say that you live in Taiwan and want to buy a fancy new HTC Touch Pro smartphone. You’ll quickly learn that in Taiwan you can only find the Chinese version of this phone. Importing a European version is expensive, plus you won’t get any contract signup discounts. US phones use provider-customized firmware that may not work correctly or optimally in Taiwan.
Don’t despair. There’s active communities of HTC enthusiasts who have extracted HTC firmware in English and other languages. It’s a fairly simple process to change the firmware on your phone, but the documentation is slim, so it’s difficult to know where to start. Here’s a simple guide on what you need to do. Each page referenced has additional information if you need more detail:
1 ) Download and install on your computer the English version of ActiveSync from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-synch.mspx (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-synch.mspx)
2 ) Turn on your phone and connect the USB cable that came with the phone (aka the charging cable) between your phone and computer and set up the phone to sync. You don’t need to actually sync anything yet, you just need to get ActiveSync on your computer to say it is “Connected”.
3 ) Download to your computer and extract RaphaelHardSPL-Unsigned_1_90_3.zip from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410150 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410150). Normally you can only install ROM firmware versions intended for your version of the HTC Touch Pro. HardSPL will change the SPL firmware to allow any HTC Touch Pro ROM firmware to be installed.
4 ) Make sure your phone battery is more than 50% charged or the SPL and ROM firmware will not install.
5 ) Run RaphaelHardSPL-Unsigned_190_1_3.exe on your computer. Follow the prompts in the program to start the SPL upgrade. After the upgrade starts there may be an inquiry on your phone’s display asking permission to switch into the bootloader. Press “是” (yes). Do not do anything on your phone or computer until the installer says the process is completed and your phone has restarted. (Note that it says the firmware upgrade takes up the 10 minutes but the SPL is small so it will be much faster.)
6 ) Download to your computer RUU-Raphael-HTC-WWE-1.90.405.1-Radio-Signed-Raphael-CRC-52.33.25.17-1.02.25.19-Ship.exe from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Raphael_WM6.1_ROMs (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Raphael_WM6.1_ROMs). At this writing there are newer ROMs there but this one is the stable released version on shipping English phones. (In the future there may be a newer stable release.)
7 ) Run RUU-Raphael-HTC-WWE-1.90.405.1-Radio-Signed-Raphael-CRC-52.33.25.17-1.02.25.19-Ship.exe on your computer. The interface is similar to the SPL upgrade, but this upgrades the main ROM firmware. Again, do not do anything on your phone or computer until the installer says the process is completed and your phone has restarted. This firmware is very large so it will take several minutes.
8 ) When your phone restarts it’ll go through the install process just like a brand new phone. (Your dealer may have done this for you when you bought the phone.) It’ll take several minutes to install the OS and additional software, calibrate the display and setup your phone network settings.
9 ) Congratulations, your Chinese phone now speaks English.
But in step 6 there is a 6.1 WM and i want a 6.5.Is it clear?
Thank you!
Are you using a Raphael (Touch Pro) or a Rhodium (Touch Pro2)?

Hard SPL is what will allow you to flash non-stock ROMs to our device. Once you put that on, then you will be able to flash the ROM you listed as well as any other one you find for the Rhodium.

Just one another question.
Now i have these tools:
1.ActiveSync
2.Rhodium-HardSPL_V2_00R3_185HSPL.zip

3.RUU_Rhodium_S_HTC_Europe_1.86.401.0_Radio_Rhodiu m_4.49.25.17_Signed_Ship.exe.
Would it work with these tools ?
And one thing that i don`t understand:
Is there any diference between Htc Touch Pro2 and Htc Touch Pro2(Rhodium) or this is the same thing ?!

Since we've answered you four times with information relevant to your problem, and you still aren't understanding this, I'm going to simply say that yes, this is correct if you have a GSM version. I will strongly urge you to read up on what you are doing before hand so you don't risk bricking your device.
Rhodium is the model name for the Touch Pro2. If you look under your battery, you will find a model number that says RHODxxx where xxx is a three-digit number. This is useful in telling people here which device you have, as there are GSM and CDMA versions of the device. You have to be certain of which you will flash or you may brick your device.

You seem to have the order correct. I would recommend that you spend a good amount of time reading about this, though. Make sure to read through the instructions and FAQ of the Hard SPL thread before you attempt it. This will save you a lot of time if you need to ask for assistance.
And finally JOB IS DONE!
Thank you for your help. You`re great hehe.
