I recently acquired a kaiser running mobile 6.1 with a broken screen. I want to know if anyone has some suggestions how to use it as a 3g modem as is, (right now I cant get it fixed).
Is there any way to install a program on it which would allow me to see on my desktop whats going on in the phone while the phone is with the cracked screen?
thanks.
Try these:

mymobiler.. hands down..
screens are on ebay for about 40$ I cracked mine, watch out for people trying to sell you a digitizer part without the lcd part, the price will be way cheap like 15-20$
I tried instaling mymobiler on the phone and it says its connecting but it doesnt show anything and after awhile it disconnects
maybe there was more damage done than just cracking the LCD (And probably the digtizer as well).
for the 40 bucks that the other programs cost i might as well buy a new screen.
are there any other suggestions?

I was wondering how hard it is to actually perform a keyboard replacement. There is nothing wrong with the actual keys of my Tilt but the buttons underneath don't always register, particularly the "H" and the "E". I was looking over the replace pictures for the keyboard here:
http://www.mikechannon.net/PDF%20Manuals/Replacing%20the%20LCD%20on%20a%20Kaiser.pdf
Doesn't seem toooo bad. I build computers on the side and have most of the tools. Whats the actual part under the keypad I should be asking for? "Keyboard PCB"???? Anyone have a reputable place I can buy it from? Do I need to reload any CAB files after this install?
I figure since I am taking it apart I should replace the touch screen. Theres nothing wrong with the LCD itself as I have never dropped it (knocks on wood) its just the top mylar protective screen that a bit scratched up. What is that part called?
How many have replaced these parts? What the rate of bricking my Tilt after I attempt this? Do you regret doing it (even successfully) and wish you had just sent it in to a professional service shop and paid the dough to have it done?
i have a problem with my tytn ii screen.
every now and then is appears to be sort of "flashing" and have lots of tiny lines running across it.
the flickering sort of looks like one of those old amigas when the resolution was too high?
you can see it on the facebook bar on the mobile site webpage more clear that anywhere else.
is this the screen on the way out, has anyone else ever had this? the touch still works ok.
i havent dropped it or anything, and do use the web on the phone a hell of a lot.
i have seen a service on ebay where u send the phone and its returned to you same day they receive it with a new screen fitted, this is 30 quid but i obviously dont want to send it unless i am sure this is the prob.. anyone know how much htc charge for a new screen repair? prob more than 30 quid i would think?
any help or advice is much appreciated.
Does it seem to happen more, or be more noticeable, when you are sliding the keyboard open and closed?
Could be the ribbon connector, rather than the screen itself.
yeah i read that it could be ribbon - doesnt seem to make any diff when opening and closing, and screen is only dodgy i would guess at 80% of the time?
only started happening the other day though - if it doesnt get worse i guess i can live with it.
do you think it is the screen? i suppose i can email the ebay seller and ask if a new ribbon is included too.
this is what i was looking at

I have Alex's Rom on my htc. It fell off my hand and broke the lcd, tried to replace it myself could not so took it to the local shop in Houston. They charged me $100 and replaced it with a new one. It was working fine for 2wks then i started having touch screen sometimes works sometimes does not issue. Could not even do ALIGN. The shop said that the screen and the flex card is fine but motherboard is messed up since he replaced it with his new one and it works.
I have already spent money on it and wondering is there any way to fix the touch screen without replacing motherboard. After he put it back I do not have any touch screen capability at all. He said he cannot do anything about it.
Need your suggestions what would you do with the device since without touchscreen it is very hard even to make a phone call with Alex's Rom since i cannot press any keys when the contact shows on the screen?
There is no way I would have spent $100 on this old phone. Get a new phone .
Yeap, too much money. With that you can get a cheap old and good kaiser in ebay if lucky.
My Diamond screen has broken(since the stupid technician tried to fasten a wrong, long, nut into the back which cracked the screen)
The problem is since i'm a NEWBIE to hardware repairs, I need help to dismantle the device(I'm not going to the tech guy)
Plus, when he opened the device, since WIFI has stopped Turing ON. From comm manager as well windows, I assume there is some hardware fault after opening the device, perhaps faulty ribbon cable connection or broken side wires(entenna?!)
Please provide help on dismanteling it, and advise on what could be wrong with WIFI.
I'm ordering this display from E _ Bay U.S.A

It seems this second one is better.
Please advise what should I buy
hmm search about microp error... i'm preaty sure same thing hapend with wifi on my diamond when i had that error. cheers
any insights on the screen?
Bulls eye!
microp error
This occurs when while boot diamond fails to find the corerct hardware radio, wifi and bluetooth
Well the small cable was not attached properly so i opened and attached it. Hell of a job, HTC are very compact.
And WIFI bluetoth back on.
Warn you this cable is very delicate and HTC's original manual says to replace this cable once you open your device. But where will you find a cable?!?!
And I have got the screen from ebay U.S.
Now while replacing the screen the tech guy stuoid NooB forgot to take off the last fblack colored film of the display and reattchaed the new one over it, so now the digitizer isnt wrking properly and the new screen appears very dark.
I have to do it my self. I dont know if i will ever have my diamond back again
So basically I've had my Droid 1 since March of 2010, I LOVE my phone. Today I was out in the sun, and it just started freaking out, I put it on a table from my cool pocket for literally 4 minutes. Now two things are happening:
the soft key search button has stopped working(keyboard one still works), and the place where the back button is on my soft keyboard is borked.
Is there anything I can try/do to possibly attempt to fix the problem? I've never run into an issue like this before. :/
okay... so I gave it to my brother to look at and suddenly it's working again...
Is there anything that could cause this?
We don't really know what causes the touchscreen issue but we suspect that the moisture is the main problem. Also, a defective or improper charging or a bad flex cable can lead to something like that. I am facing exactly the same problem (paradoxally, after flashing a new ROM - coincidence maybe) but here it didn't dissappear. I will replace the digitizer. I think it's the only way to get rid of it. If it shows up again, I'm sorry!
When do you plan to change out your digitizer? If anything I'd love to see your results before I go for it.
Oh the joys of being a broke college student.
The same problem happened to my D1!! If it re-occurs then it means that your digitizer has broken. The only solution is to replace it or buy a new phone (If you do a search on "Droid" and "digitizer" you will find many people who have had this same problem)
I researched repair stores and finally settled on a place called Mission Repair in KS (missionrepair.com). Sent my precious Droid to them on a Tuesday and got it back as good as new on Friday for a cost (including Fedex) of around $90 - certainly a lot cheaper than a new phone.
Has been working fine again since.
I heard it is a common issue on the phone, you can use an application like multitouch visualizer (on the market) to check the functional parts of the screen.
The problem I have is with the keyboard, I was using the right key to pass the pages on kindle for android and now I have to press it harder, it also happened with one of the space buttons, thanks god those are 3...
Ends up I'm not entirely retarded, and got the extended warranty for 1.99 extra month. I traded it in, but the replacement has same issues. Might be time to upgrade my phone...
Try replacing Flex cable instead of digitizer.
If it's not damaged.. hold off on the digitalizer and cable replacement.. grab ya some descant packets (do not eat bags that come with new items that can't stand any moisture) ziplock it up with them.. with battery out of it.. leave it over night.. bam..
BRITT#OGDROID
Oh.. and the OG doesn't like sweaty pockets or extreme humidity.. it's definitely your problem if not damaged.. bet you're in the south..
