dear All,
im having a little problem maybe because i did some thing wrong ? dont know
my Touch diamond start became slow and use more RAM ,
thats happen after i did install the original HTC ROM twice ,
1-first time was when i installed too many application and thought it will be
better and faster if i re installed clean original Rom ,and it did work
2-second time was when i tried to install cooked ROM and didnt work ,so
i re installed the original HTC ,its working fine but not like before
at start up soft reset the RAM is : 57-58 % and come to 70 % easly
but before it was 54-55 % start up and max it reach 65 %
-the ROM i used :
RUU_Diamond_HTC_ARA_2.03.415.2_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.51.25.26_1.09.25.23_Ship
is there anyway to clean my diamond and is it right to install ROM many times ?
when i install and do fresh ROM ,it will delete all the old rom files or not ? is there any files or data will remain in ROM ?
waiting your feedback , thanks in advance
Whenever you install a new ROM it automatically deletes everything on the Main Storage, but you could also have a go at MTTY. When using the "task 29" command it actually formats your Main Storage so there will be no leftover files.
As for how many times you can flash your Diamond, well I have probably flashed mine about 100 times in the past 6 weeks.
thanks Dom
thank you so much , you are the only one who replyed
The amount of RAM free for use is determined by the ROM, so if you want more RAM, installed a 'Clean' ROM. this will mean that some programs wont be available, but you can always install what you need.
My diamond is 18 months old, i'd hate to think how many times its been flashed i've just ordered a new chassis and case to keep it going
Could also try this rom

Have you hard reset after flashing a new ROM??
U can reserve your RAM using clean RAM or RAM Sweeper

Its necessary to install ROM many times.dont forget to HSPL first..
When you instal new ROM and hard reset after that, the old ROM must be deleted.
Hope it help you.

Hello,
I own htc diamond from my cellular company - orange.
I dont want to loss my warrenty/insurance therefore i cant install any costum roms.
But its very annoying i must have manila files/old version of opera on my device memory
Im short with storage space and it wastes many megabytes for nothing.
Is it possible to edit this rom and remove some cabs of it without lossing the warrenty?
Im using the 1.93WWE version
Im desperately want to remove manila/opera/orange GPS and other crap stored there.
After HR I have only 50MB free.
After I install some softwares I use i have maybe 10MB free..
Update ROM anyway!
Personally, I'd update the ROM regardless of warranty... it's worth the 'risk'. You can always flash an original Orange ROM if you need to return your device for any reason. You can't remove apps which are pre-installed in the ROM, so even if you don't use them, you're stuck with them.
I was very nervous about flashing my device the first time, but if you follow the tutorials in this forum, it's pretty straight forward and well worth it. I haven't found a situation yet, that somebody here hasn't got a solution for!
Well Im fine with the original rom.
All I want is to remove the opera installation (on my storage which takes me more space) and the rss hub, eyron hebrew support and touch flo
I do want to stay with that rom because of warrenty issues...
Is it possible to backup the rom to my PC and removing the files, and installing it back on the device without anyone notices it and in that way i'll keep my warrenty safe
It will be exactly what I backuped from the device, so how should it cause any troubles?
I think some of the software you mentioned are being installed/expanded at the first boot after a hard reset (it prompts you to wait and then installation starts). So, if you perform a soft reset at the prompt that asks you to wait ... you could skip some app installations, and as a result more device memory left for you.
Yes, All of the things disturbing me are installed after the first boot - Opera browser, Manilla and the language support.
But if I do only skip the customization, Do I still earn device memory? since this files are still sitting in the ROM taking there 30-40MB
How many device memory can I get? After normal hard reset I get only 50mb left.
What will be if I skip the customizations?
Hi !
I've got my Diamond for more than one year now, and for a long time, I've been using BElite Rom (from Bepe) v. 0.94.
But now, I've prefered SPB Mobile Shell 3 to TFL3D. And it seems I've got some memory allocation problems. For example, I can't use Navigo 8 anymore because for "not enough memory", the same with Opera. And now, when I try to open a program from MS3, it closes automatically a few seconds later.
I tried to download the original official ROM on the HTC website (2.03.406.2), but the RUU isn't working, and tell me the update can't be done...
Shall I hard-reset ? Or should you advice me of a new Rom (I'd like a 6.5 stable and official if possible), I don't know which to choose between the several available.
Thank you !
Can anyone help me ?
I made an hard-reset, erase every data, re-flash the SPL and it still blocks at 0%. The RUU program tells "No answer from phone"...
Could you maybe advice me on another ROM ?
hi,
try to flash by the internal storage (rename nbh file to DIAMIMG.nbh, copy/past it to the internal storage of the diamond, soft reset and press volume down + return, and press power button ton flash !)
Thank you for your answer.
I've updater my Hard-SPL and now it is working. Since I know it works, i'll try NetDRG 6.5 Rom.
If you have a better, in French, to advice me. I'm open to all suggestions
Here is the answer:

Energyrom! Thats the fastest and most stable rom!
greets
Hi people,
I recently decided to update my touch diamond to wm6.5.
Already got HardSPL 1.93 some time ago together with the swift rom.
Now I downloaded this rom:
BOGYSOFT WM6.5 Build 23060
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552162
And followed the instructions carefully, put the rom on the internal storage and started the update process as usual.
After it had finished installing I already noticed it took the phone way to long to completely boot into windows.
After a few reinstalls I finally got it to work but it was very slow and often I couldnt even unlock the damn thing.
At this point I cant even get into windows anymore.
Now ofcourse I want this rom removed from my phone, but is that even possible when I cant boot it into windows??
I need to have an USB connection to put on another rom, so is that possible without windows?
Thanks for your help!
I got the same problem. anybody help us?
I had a problem with an earlier version of this ROM, and the fix turned out to be quite simple.
I flashed my stock ROM back on and then re-flashed BOGYSOFT, ever since then been no problems what so ever.
I had flashed a few different ROM's to try before this it's possible I suppose that there may of been some corruption with repeated flashing.
I think the hardspl is affecting the phone's stability, cause returned back to the stock after flashing some cooked roms and it's bad more than before.....
any news?

Yes but dont you need to acces the phones internal storage to add a new rom?
Cause I dont know how to do that when I'm not even able to acces windows.
Anybody?
Is my phone bricked or is there a way to connect to the internal storage without WM?
Now it doesnt even boot the rom anymore,
The image has even dissapeared from my internal storage.
It is now stuck in the Bootloader telling me to trigger the USB host.
Any ideas?
My Diamond has been pretty unreliable over the last couple of days, but I used MTTY to format the internal flash, loaded the latest Gen.Y ROM (I don't think it really matters which ROM tho) and now it works perfectly again. Plus to me it seems a bit faster. Anyway I couldn't be happier.
If you can get into the bootloader with USB I'd certainly give the instructions in this flash a go (post 3 or 4 only if you're on Windows XP).

thanks mate!
After i flash rom. When my HD phone hang, so take out the battery and put it back to restart it .. the whole phone will reset to default..... just same like brand new phone without setting. it happen many times, what happen on my HD ?
Have you tried using the red reset button next to the SD card slot?
Yes i do , i try many kind of restart , but when my HD hang ... i restart it. it will back to default setting
if it happens always with the same rom, i suggest you try to change rom and see if that happens again. if it happens with different roms, you should flash back your stock default rom and then proceed flashing another custom rom and see if it does it again. Many times reverting to stock rom from time to time has been proven to solve some weird behaviours.
I would suggest flashing stock rom first before following this guide to flash a cooked rom again

Did you use either HSPL or USPL before flashing rom? You will need to use one of these or your HD will hang. If you are having difficulty with that guide, post your query in that thread
I have got mine reset to default too.
My rom is Xannytech 2.2
HD Hangs. After a reset, it returns to the setup progress.
The setup progress is the setup progress of installation.
After the installation, calibrate the screen, set time zone.
the rom returns to function!!!
I am lucky I have saved all my data in the SD card, and backup my contact list and sms in Myphone.
It is quite a good auto recovery system.
The only application I installed is chinese font and htc 6.1 chinese input method.
Before the HD phone hangs, it is running opera 9.7.
I have ~ 500 contacts. and 300 sms..
As per Fallen Spartan's question above, have you used either USPL or HSPL before you flashed?

Whats your SPL in bootloader? Was USPL or HSPL successful? Did you hard reset after flashing rom?
I had exactly the same problem after using xannys 2.2 rom. I'm using Hardspl. Even reflashed HSPL but it didnt help.
What did help was to flash another rom (Xnors) multiple times. Since that my phone did not hang again.

Alternatively flash stock rom before flashing another cooked rom. This method appears to solve a number of reportewd issues

I am sure Xannys 2.2 have this problem , i have already flash many many rom for more than one year is no problem.
The same happens to me but with all the roms (Xanny, Sh3lby 1.10/1.9/1.7 (although they were working fine), Xnor and PDAViet).
Do you know where I can find a stock rom?

EDIT: Found on the HTC official website and look here for the method.
EDIT2: Owned by Clyde ^^"

You can look here
Actually problems appear when I use Myphone. 2 options:
- Either it finished and then it freezes randomly from then, hard-reset itself, never complete it, reboot and get stuck on the black screen with radio information.
- Either it doesn't finish and when I try to exit/stop the program, it freezes and same than above happens.
Trying to get back to stock rom but battery's still not at 50% charge. So waiting a bit and playing with it without using myphone to see if it get blocked again...

Yes, i use HSPL (ISO-8859-1''HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex ) , then the rom i flash is RUU_Dutty's_HD_WM6.5_5_Leo_R7 .
Well , i try to combine some of the opinion and flash rom again, this is what i do :
Step 1. I flash back the original rom ( RUU_BlackStone_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.18.707.3_Radio_52.49a.25.26_1.09.25.14_Ship ) . then hard reset twice.
Step 2. Then install HSPL (ISO-8859-1''HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex ), then reset twice .
Step 3. Flash custom rom ( RUU_Dutty's_HD_WM6.5_5_Leo_R7 ), the reset twice .
Today is my second day after flash... so not sure will have the same old problem happen .... i wish nothing happen and can use smooth
I experienced the same issue with Miri V 14.0 two days ago. I never believe it does happen until it happened to me despite the fact that I always flash a custom rom before flashing any cooked rom.
Mine first came up with a message that I need to reset my device to factory settings because I have installed an application that is not compatible or not signed on my phone, message was when I performed a soft rest after phone freeze.
dear developers,
i have a question about my HD. i've updated my spl booter, now i can install new roms from de cooks from the SD card. but i've now several problems.
i tried almost every roms thats available here on the forum but i get everytime the same problems.
- phone freeze's, so i have to reset the phone each time several times a day
- 3g/hspda connections lost, like on msn, email etc. again each time reset needed
those are 2 most important problems, you think you have a working phone but its frozen till you see it. its very disturbing
after this problems i went back to the original rom from the htc site. but now i get the same problems back.
so my question is how important the radio? is this maybe the reason of my problems or has other persons the same problems? or do i have a broken phone?
only the miri rom v38 isnt freezing but still the other problems
thanks in advance

What ROM are you using? What radio version do you have?
The radio isn't necessarily that important, although it is always a good idea to flash the latest. This sounds more like a flashing problem. When you flashed the ROM, did you hard reset? Have you tried using Task29 before flashing? This can also help you update your radio as you can use the latest version for this (and ensure a clean install).
those are data i get when start up right corner
R 1132524
G 52622534u
D 15621903
what do you mean by task29?
i copy the file to sd card. then boot and install the rom. after that i always hard reset by vol up and vol down and put the phone on.
shoull i flash different then?
thanks in advance

What you need to look at is the About Phone and software in the Settings Tab. That will tell you what you have installed.
Look in the main ROM thread for task29 for information on this and how to use it.
I assume that you have used HSPL to flash your ROM.
Radio IS IMPORTANT!
Not every radio is good for area where you live / mostly use your phone. Or provider you're using...
1. Every stock ROM installs radio and rilphone.
2. Almost none of the cooked ROMs install radio and/or rilphone.
3. Not every combination radio / rilphone is working good. Rule is that you use same or closest rilphone version with your radio.
In my area I have tried almost every radio from 1.12 up, and I'm most satisfied with 1.14. 1.17 gives me sometimes better phone reception, fastest GPS lock but eats battery fastest. So you have to test what fits you best...
