[REQ] copy command on "phone" menu - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

Hello ,
I have made this question/request somewhere else but with no answer.
(I really don't know where to post it).
Is it posible to have a copy command in the phone menu so that we could copy a phone number and use it (paste) somewhere else? (word, excel, agenda etc)?
Thanks again .

How do I run a program in Pocket PC

Ok, I am going to ask a dumb question here. Please don't make fun of me.
I am trying to get through this country code problem so I can upgrade my PDA2K. I have copied GetDeviceData.exe to my device (drag-and-dropped it there from my PC). Now - how the heck to I run the thing?
See, I told you it was a stupid question!
Re
Dear,
You have to use File Explorer to locate the folder in which you dropped the program and then double click it. If you wanna make shortcut to that, do the following
- Copy the file
- go to windows directory in your ppc and spot for start menu and then double click for program folder, then paste (paste as shortcut) the program in that folder
now you should be able to execute the program directly from your program screen
hth

problem !!

hi
I just buy my shift
it works fine but really i want to unlock WM to download cab files
i read lots of threads here but unfortunately I couldn't apply it
simply because the trick couldn't work for me which is as example
:::
"insert" -> "picture". This allows you to browse for pictures and it's the closet thing we have to a file manager at the moment. Navigate to the Windows directory, then the Start Menu (in the Windows directory) and highlight the Programs folder if it isn't already. Hit Control-C on the keyboard to copy it. Navigate back up to Windows/Settings and press Control-V to paste
:::
the problem here :
that my shift doesn't accept the copy and paste i hear sound which indicate that the action is nit allowed
so what is the problem ?
why i cant copy and paste ?
pleeeeze really i need to unlock my shift?

How to change folder icons

So, here's a short tutorial on how to create your own dll library and change folder icons.
what you need:
IcoFX get it here : http://icofx.ro/
ResHacker link here : http://delphi.icm.edu.pl/ftp/tools/ResHack.zip
and of cource ICONS get some here: http://www.iconarchive.com/
How it works...
Any customized folder has a shortcut inside pointing out the icon it should use
usually it's a icon.lnk file inside the folder.
and icons are usually stored in a DLL library...
So, what we have to do
1. Get some images and transform them into icon files ( .ico )
2. Create our DLL library
3. make the icon.lnk files that point to our specific icon
let's start.
After installing all the above programs and selecting some icons go and launch IcoFX
now go to Tools / Batch Convert
A new window appears
Add your icons / images,
select your icon sizes
select an output folder
hit ok
After it finishes hit ok.
Now go to Tools - Resource Editor
This should pop up
Now add your created icons
After that, hit save
Save your library with a .dll extension like in the above image.
Bam, you just created your own DLL library
Close the program
now to create the icon.lnk file
create a new text document
inside the shortcut looks like this:
1# is a parameter
myiconlib.dll is your icon library
-33 is the resource number where the icon is located within the resource dll
ok, how to find the right number for your icon:
Open up your DLL library with ResourceHacker
hit expand tree to see all the resources in the file
search for your icon
The icon number is very visible ( look at the image )
write the number in your text file like shown in the image. remember to put the "-"
so, another example:
1#MyLibrary.dll, -12
now, goto file , Save AS
Just to be sure select All Files in the Save as type bar
give the file the name: icon.lnk and hit save.
and you are almost done.
Connect via your phone via Activesync
Copy your Dll library right in the Windows folder
Copy your icon.lnk in the folder you want to customize.
And you are done.
Hope this comes in handy
Happy customizing
Nevermind, got it fixed Sorry for the trouble.
Great info! Thanks for sharing.
works great with changing a folder... how do you change just a shortcut?
Thank you very much
i dont nderstand this part , help please

inside the shortcut looks like this:

I can't get it working, i did everything, i checked tree times but nothing works.

Does anyone still come here?
I followed the tutorial step by step and also I had no success! Could someone help me? Or anyone know which dll is the original folder icon? So I could change them directly in this dll.
I have attached the dll and icon.ink that i created, if someone can help me and verify that is correct.
Thanks

Great tutorial, thank you very much!
I've created a tutorial about creating shortcuts to Feature Settings and Applications. Plus adding icons to these links. It has many xda-links to specialized shortcut applications!
For me it resulted in icons for MortScript
Your tutorial about creating icons for folders was missing!! Thanx again!
Senax
didn`t worked
thanks for your tutorial.
i tryed it but i had no success
in resco explorer it works in some cases, in others not and in the start menu i had no success.

Windows Folder Restricted Files Access

Hey all I have a X1,
I want to know how to replace files in the Windows folder, can anyone help me out?
Any help at all will be greatly appreciated
MOD EDIT - Moved to General discussion as not related to rom development
can anyone help?
Total Commander: http://www.ghisler.com/ should work
I myself prefer Resco File Explorer...i haven't done a "windows" file replacement in a while, but I believe that method works
Don't forget to enable hidden files (just in case you aren't seeing something)
I will try it out right away, thanks a lot for the reply

MMS small picture

I'm using a Samsung Captivate unlocked on the Tmobile US network.
Incoming MMS get resize, I know Tmobile does this cause it's not a phone they recognized. Everytime I get an unlock phone this happen and I know I need to change the user agent to a phone they recognized.
I saw a few post on how to do it but it's for other phones, not sure if those fix will work for the Captivate. Anyone with a Captivate on TMOUS able to fix this problem yet?
Thank you
Bump, anyone?
Anyone know how to edit the user agent in the hex file?
trying to change it to the Nokia N95 user agent
NokiaN95/11.0.026; Series60/3.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1
I'm able to pull up the MMS config and see the user agent string but not sure what to do after that
Can anyone at tell me what to change in the picture?
Dude, I gave you an Mms.apk that has exactly what you're looking for on the other thread you posted about this. Take the apk I gave you and move it into system/app or just flash my ROM.

I did take your mms.apk from the other thread and try it.
It did not work. Maybe I'm installing it wrong.
Is ADB the only method to push it to the phone?
I'm transfering it to my SD card, copy it and using Root Explorer paste it into
system/app but when I go to open the application, the MESSAGING icon is not there.
What ROM are you using?
Thanks for your time
Can someone tel me if I'm doing this right.
-Using Root Explorer extract a copy of Mms.apk from phone
-rename Mms.apk to Mms.zip
-WinRar extract the MMS.zip
-locate the mms_config.xml
-using hex editor changed the UA string (see picture).
-rezipped mms folder and change name to Mms.zip to Mms.apk
-put back into system/app
-reboot phone but the Messaging icon disappeared.
Also after editing mms_config.xml and save, there's an extra file
call mms_config.xml.bak, leave that file alone or what to do with it?
Thank you to anyone that can give me some help
Anyone? A little help?
