i use bettercut for my desktop icons & i know there has got to be a way to bypass the 48x48pixel rule if you have root. maybe go into the system file & change some script or something? i would like my icons to be likee 60x60. does anyone have some ideas?

i don't mind, the iphone has icons that are that size and it works fine.
You can do this, but it would require you to compile from source. I am not experienced enough to walk you through this. I suggest asking cyanogen or enomther.
why would i have to compile from source? theres no xml to edit to just expand the boundaries?

maybe no one knows and thats why these arnt changed in other themes? lol
No, I've searched it myself and can't find an answer.
oh thanks for trying!
i wanted to change the background of the programs list also, never found the corresponding image file. please let us know if you find it.
Not sure if i understood this correctly but background for grid view in Launcher ? have a look at pattern_carbon_fiber_dark.png in drawable. Don't use rosie anymore, insteaded i swapped Launcher.apk with advanceLauncher.apk found in the dream section.

this seems to be the right file for the android stock launcher, since we are talking about rosie/sense launcher this doesn't help... thanks for the hint though.

this might be all_programs_header_title.9.png. at least the name suggests it
afaik you can't just alter these *.9.png files, but you'd need to look that up if it doesn't work.

thanks everyone! maybe il put together a list of where everything is...
and well im not sure but for anyone else who doesnt bother editing .9.png, i find that if the file covers a whole box (like a header) instead of covering part of a box(like bottom rosie buttons) then you can easily change colour by:
(using photoshop)
- create new layer on top of image
- paint it what ever colour
- right click the layer and bring down the transparency so you can see the detail
... this has never given me problems
UPDATE: Is there an app that adds your background apps to the notification bar
like the espresso ROM
http://tinypic.com/r/j6qrko/6

What do you mean by add?
you can add "shortcuts" to your bar by downloading --BAR CONTROL- in the market(its free) ..and when u slide the bar down u will have you shortcuts to app,games..etc
just pick ur choice. : )
Are you wondering if you can change, lets say, wifi image?
If you are, the images are located on the /system partition. Meaning that we can't modify them (yet). I have an app i've been working on (if you have seen WinterBoard for the iPhone, you'll get the picture) that requires root. When we get root, i'll market it and you should be able to change any pictures you want.

That sounds awesome, will we be able to change the actual bar image, the background, and the bottom bar when it is pulled down
hey again...i swear i'm going to suffocate these boards with 'how to's, hehe
i searched and couldn't find a way to "add" apps next to the launcher/app drawer on the bottom of every screen
can we do this in metamorph? is there another general way of doing it?
thanks!

refer to this, unless you were joking considering how obvious the thread is and searching it would not be hard at all.

the problem is that I ONLY want to add the apps, idon't want to change anything else...

Then I'd start learning how to code. It's not something a metamorph could fix easily (Can't just replace a png or something like that).

You cannot do that with standard android launcher, you'll need a custom one like gde, helix, launcherpro, pandahome, etc
adw LAUNCHER (FROM ANDERWEBS) LETS YOU CHOOSE OPTIONS FOR DOCKBAR ON/OFF, LEFT OR RIGHT TAB OR BOTH, TINT OR NO TINT ETC. FLASH FROM ZIP AND ACCESS ADW SETTINGS IN THE HOME SETTINGS TAB.
as an FYI....it just says to flash the file..
so if it works like a rom, i have a telus milestone, which cannot be flashed for roms...
so am I SOL?
im sorry does anybody know how to change the taskbar icons? if so, can u plz help me thxs!
It depends on what you referring to as your taskbar
If you mean the lower quick keys then it would depend on what launcher you are using. Launcher pro gives you the option to use Icon packs to customize the launcher keys.
If you mean all the icons then bettercut allows you to change icons/names and several other options on your screen.

MetaMorph allows you to apply "themes", some of the themes available in these forums are designed to just change the look of the top-bar. Look around and you will probably find something you like.
On a side note, you have to root your phone to use MetaMorph.

Meta morph is what you need. Check out the theme forum and all the icons you could ever want are there inside the different themes you download.

Is there a way to modify the Android lock screen? I am currently using WidgetLocker, but I would like to customize the lock screen that is the default.
I am currently using:
GingerborgMod v 9.1.4
2.2.1
GT-I9000
Any other info you need, let me know.
Thanks in advance.
Modify how?
In order to modify the lock screen you would need to be able to modify the policies.jar file - but what are you trying to modify? Just change the existing lock screen with another one?

I would like for the screen to show the weather. I like the original lock screen, but I just want to add other widgets.

I'm taking it that this is not possible?
Only way I know how is with an application called Widget Locker. I hear mixed results from the community - but it will do what you are looking for.
Otherwise... you would have to learn how to program and tear apart the policies.jar and figure out how to tweak it to make it work to add said widgets.

+1 you have to be a dev to modify the policies.jar.
