Change default e-mail - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I searched on the website but can't find it how to change the default e-mail programm on my x1. I want to change it in profimail instead of the default outlook.
What do I have to change in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE settings to get it. I know I have to put the exact path somewhere, but I can't figure out where exactly.
Any help would be great.
Cheers,
Arnold

I don't know if it's possible (I also use Profimail).
However I know that FlexMail can be set as default email system.

Changing default messaging program

Is there any way (registry hack or otherwise) to change my default messaging program from POutlook to another executable on my device?
Anybody know?
I don't know how to do this, but flexmail has this option built in into the program itself.
maybe the application you are using has the same option!
cheers
Finger Friendly Friends is a very nice contact manager from jahnotto, which has the function to be set to default contacts app. You can also start poutlook from FFF, so it's still reachable in a quick way.
It is not freeware anymore since version 1.0: $14,99.

EDIT: If you want to use another contacts app set to default maybe you should directly ask jahnotto how he has done it for FFF. I think it's only a registry tweak and I'm sure he would give the information to you.

Save contact "name, surname" insted of "surname, name".

Hi all, when I add a new contact, this option appears by "surname, name" be default. I like to have contacts by "name, surname"; so everytime I add acontact I have to go to this option and change.
Anyone knows how to change this value by default?. I know there is a program for Pocket PC that fix it but i don't know how to manage with a SMP.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I've managed to do adjust it in my Outlook. There is an option when you click on your contact, to just say 'display as .. '. It's there where you can state how to list your contacts if I'm not mistaken.

What if you don't use outlook but Windows Live Mail?
i have also made this work in outlook... not with internal vista email klient... sorry
I use this thread, is there some possibility to have more mobile phones in one contact then only one? Thanks a lot.

No way to change to "name surname" modifying a registry key?
I've heard about this feature in "Xpera Tweak"... I'm investigating!

Rename Windows Live Messenger Inbox

On some roms the windows live inbox was called "Windows Live"; however, on the new rom it creates the inbox as "Hotmail" which interferes with another program i use to check a separate hotmail account. it causes the programs to confuse the inboxes and delete the other account's messages and download the new account's messages. Is there a way to fix this? Has anyone else had this problem?
Look in your registry for a key called "FriendlyName" see if changing that fixes things for you.

Click to collapse
Do you know where that registry key is located? If not then i will just poke around in there till I find it. Thanks for your help.
I don't remember the exact location but Registry Editors generally have a search function!
Yeah, i know. There's just like 1000 places in the registry where "FriendlyName" shows up and i have to go through them one at a time, so i thought i'd check to save myself time. Thanks for your help again.
The registry edit did not work, however i found a windows live cab of dutty's that i installed after flashing the rom which names the inbox "Windows Live" and that took care of my problem. Thanks for you help.

Outlook email to allow sending to sms number..

Hello everyone,
i have a serious problem. Through my company exchange outlook account (OWA) i can send email that at the end will be delivered as sms. I have just to insert into "to" field the following "address": [sms:+44123456789]. Unfortunately i think there is a control on the email address format because it says it can not send sms through the email program (you can try from your diamond). How may I solve it? i found a possible solution, modify
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Inbox\Settings]
"AllowSMStoSMTPConcatenation"=dword:00000001
"AllowSMStoSMTPAddress"=dword:00000001
but i cound't find a registry editor that saves the settings! i tried phm registry editor, resco registry and other desktop one. I can change the keys but they are not mantain the setting after the reboot. With the desktop registry i received an access denied when i try to save... in which am i wrong?? thanks
none found a solution?

Allow sms through email account, help requested!

Hello all,
I want to focus on a matter, hoping someone can give me the solution. With my company email account (on exchange server) i can send sms like email (there is a lifo queue, i have just to setup the email address of the receiver as "[sms:00441234567890]"and then it will be delivered like a sms). Actually i can't, because the windows mail client is checking if you are inserting a valid email address (it's saying to me that i can't use the mail program to send sms, probably is looking for a "@"). I found the registry keys to be modified in order to solve it. They are in machine/system/inbox/setting allowSMStoSMTPaddress. I tried to change them (from 0 to 1 value, dword value) but the phone is not saving my alterations (using resco registry and phm registry). What should I do? Why is the phone restoring the keys to the default values every time i reset it? it's making me crazy... thanks for your help!
it's not possible that you are assembly new roms and you do not know how to change that..
