I was flicking through all the threads in this category and found something that caught my eye regarding SIM Unlocking. Here's a quote from this thread:
to enter hboot, fastboot menu press and hold:
BACK and END while powering up..
in the bootloader menu:
click pvt ship s-on
hboot-0.52.0001 (clic10000)
microp-0203
radio-3.35.07.20
sep 22 2009, 14:40:39
options in hboot bootloader menu:
hboot mode
fastboot mode
reset
power down
options in fastboot menu:
simlock
recovery
Click to collapse
Hold it. What's the fastboot option 'simlock' do? Does it control the state if the Tattoo is locked to a SIM, or is it just a feature that can't be used (locked out/disabled)?
If anyone can boot into that menu and see what it does, please let me know. Any thoughts would be helpful too.
I'm sure this isn't illegal as why would HTC have that feature in that menu if it was? :|

Hello,
I 'd like to unlock the bootloader on my HTC Desire C following the procedure on htcdev.com .
HBOOT update is required to move on with the unlock, in fact booting the device, holding power on and volume down, I' m able to choose
fastboot - bootloader, but then the field "fastboot" becomes "hboot" and I got some error on the screen: no image or wrong image
(it seems to search something (image?) on the SD card).
At this point I did reboot the device.
Do you know how to proceed to update the HBOOT? Or if there are any other ways to move on?

Yes that happens at times.Click on the fastboot option once again ( using the power button) and if you have connected your device to your laptop/pc you will get the option fastboot usb highlighted. The only way to update hboot is through a ruu which is meant your device or through an ota update.
i cant unlock my bootloader

Flashing via PDXXIMG.zip works only with locked or relocked bootloader (hboot).

Hello,
I got a HTC Desire C which only boots up to fastboot mode when I press the power button or when I plug in charger or USB.
This is what I get:
<<<
***LOCKED***
GOLFU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.31.0000
RADIO-1.19.98.02
eMMC-boot
Juk 12 2012, 15:44:30
FASTBOOT
<VOL UP> to previous item
<VOL DOWN> to next item
<POWER> to select item
BOOTLOADER
REBOOT
REBOOT BOOTLOADER
POWER DOWN
and 3 droids on skateboard at the bottom
>>>
Buttons react normally, I can move UP or DOWN or select stuff.
If I select BOOTLOADER I get into HBOOT and the options change to:
<<<
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
>>>
No matter what I do the phone either reboots or shuts down. Factory reset does nothing neither recovery.
I can see the device from my computer in fastboot.
BUT
Cannot flash TWRP recovery with Locked Bootloader.
Cannot unlock bootloader through the HTC official site - when I flash the unlock_code.bin a screen pops out on the phone asking me if I really want to unlock bootloader as I may lose warranty but when I use VOL-UP to select the "YES" option and press POWER to select it nothing happens. Even if I wait for half an hour. I can still press VOL-DOWN to go back to "NO" and select it and the phone will shutdown with still locked bootloader.
I searched a lot and found nothing. Can anyone please help me or is there no way I can manage to fix it at home?
I have no idea why the phone started behaving like this, a friend of mine got it from a friend and no information was given to me about what they did or did not do with the phone. Is there some way to completely flash some working ROM (official would be nice) in this state?
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
I have this exact same problem anyone knows how to fix it?
Search for member @scotty1224 he may be able to help and also check the threads for rooting/unlocking/s-off as things like this could be covered within the threads already as well as needed rom's/euu/boot/recovery files

Hi guys, I still can't find any solution for this problem. My "Desire C" hangs at the locked HBOOT screen, and I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere.
Please, help ....
I'm having the same issue. Any troubleshooting to solve this problem?
Hi, this evening i was asked by my mother to take some pictures off her HTC one and put them on to her Mac computer. SO i connected the USB lead, HTC sync installed from the phone and i transferred the pictures across. I disconnected the phone firstly on the mac and then removed the lead.
Ten minutes later the phone had reset itself and was now at the bootloader menu.
The menu options do the following
Reboot: reboots back to fastboot
reboot bootloader: reboots back to fastboot
bootloader: opens next menu ...
Fastboot: returns to previous menu
recovery: vibrates, androids go to centre of screen for second then goes back to previous menu
factory reset: vibrates, androids go to centre of screen for second then goes back to previous menu
The info on the first menu is:
***LOCKED***

HBOOT-2.00.0000
eMMC-boot

The rom was whatever the stock one 02 put in for England. It has never been modded in anyway and is still on an 02 contract, this is a totally vanilla HTC one.
Please if anybody can help me with this i would be insanely grateful.

This is the One M7 forum, K2_UL is One SV, you should post in the correct forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-sv
Meanwhile you could try to erase cache using fastboot (fastboot erase cache) and reboot the phone manuualy using "fastboot reboot" command. Its not a good sign if the factory reset didn't worked....
When I woke up tomorrow and wanted to check my messages, while my phone was still connected to the powercable, it automatically started in HBOOT. I wasn't really worried and just tried rebooting it a couple of times. but that didn't seem to work. Holding the POWER + VOLUME UP got me into a broken HBOOT. The power button isn't able to select any of the {FASTBOOT, RECOVERY, FACTORY RESET, SIMLOCK, IMAGE CRC, SHOW BARCODE} options, the POWER UP button takes the selector one place down instead of up and the POWER DOWN button doesn't seem to work at all.
My only other option seems to boot into safe mode, holding the POWER + VOLUME UP buttons. While doing so my phone does boot just as normal until my homescreen shows. At this point the following error pops up and keeps popping up while closing it: "The process com.android.systemui has stopped"
I tried connecting my phone to my laptop hoping i could flash TWRP and a new ROM again, but my device isn't recognised by my laptop even though I followed these steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2632736
As I can't even connect my phone to my laptop I'm not really sure what to do next. Any help would be very very much appreciated!
Some additional info:
I was running CM11 (Unsure which version)
HBOOT shows the following information:

1. What do you mean by "bootloader not responding"?
And you can try flashing twrp recovery using adb or fastboot. https://dl.twrp.me/m7/twrp-3.0.0-2-m7.img.html
