Hello,
I got a HTC Desire C which only boots up to fastboot mode when I press the power button or when I plug in charger or USB.
This is what I get:
<<<
***LOCKED***
GOLFU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.31.0000
RADIO-1.19.98.02
eMMC-boot
Juk 12 2012, 15:44:30
FASTBOOT
<VOL UP> to previous item
<VOL DOWN> to next item
<POWER> to select item
BOOTLOADER
REBOOT
REBOOT BOOTLOADER
POWER DOWN
and 3 droids on skateboard at the bottom
>>>
Buttons react normally, I can move UP or DOWN or select stuff.
If I select BOOTLOADER I get into HBOOT and the options change to:
<<<
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
>>>
No matter what I do the phone either reboots or shuts down. Factory reset does nothing neither recovery.
I can see the device from my computer in fastboot.
BUT
Cannot flash TWRP recovery with Locked Bootloader.
Cannot unlock bootloader through the HTC official site - when I flash the unlock_code.bin a screen pops out on the phone asking me if I really want to unlock bootloader as I may lose warranty but when I use VOL-UP to select the "YES" option and press POWER to select it nothing happens. Even if I wait for half an hour. I can still press VOL-DOWN to go back to "NO" and select it and the phone will shutdown with still locked bootloader.
I searched a lot and found nothing. Can anyone please help me or is there no way I can manage to fix it at home?
I have no idea why the phone started behaving like this, a friend of mine got it from a friend and no information was given to me about what they did or did not do with the phone. Is there some way to completely flash some working ROM (official would be nice) in this state?
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
I have this exact same problem anyone knows how to fix it?
Search for member @scotty1224 he may be able to help and also check the threads for rooting/unlocking/s-off as things like this could be covered within the threads already as well as needed rom's/euu/boot/recovery files

Hi guys, I still can't find any solution for this problem. My "Desire C" hangs at the locked HBOOT screen, and I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere.
Please, help ....
I'm having the same issue. Any troubleshooting to solve this problem?

I was flicking through all the threads in this category and found something that caught my eye regarding SIM Unlocking. Here's a quote from this thread:
to enter hboot, fastboot menu press and hold:
BACK and END while powering up..

Hold it. What's the fastboot option 'simlock' do? Does it control the state if the Tattoo is locked to a SIM, or is it just a feature that can't be used (locked out/disabled)?
If anyone can boot into that menu and see what it does, please let me know. Any thoughts would be helpful too.
I'm sure this isn't illegal as why would HTC have that feature in that menu if it was? :|
Wont power up = pushing the power button just brings up the white screeen with green "htc" in the middle of the screen and itll sit there forever.
If I vol-down + power it comes up:

Ilve tried all the options, sometimes it brings me to a green circle with circular arrows and the down arrow. Sometimes the red triangle with the ! in it. How do I proceed with getting it back running? I forgot what it was I did that screwed it up. but just now got some time to look at it again (its been a few months)
Thanks for any help!

1. connect the phone to PC and install the recovery of your choice from FASTBOOT USB (fastboot flash recovery <nameofrecovery>.img)
2. Fastboot flash kernel from your ROM (fastboot flash boot boot.img)
3. Boot to recovery, mount your SD Card, put the ROM of your choice on SD, unmount
4. Wipe cache, dalvik, data, and system
5. Flash ROM of your choice
6. Post questions in the Q and A section
Or if you wanna go to stock...
Download the ruu from the HTC website onto your computer...go to support and choose the vivid
Choose fastboot on the phone
Connect it to USB port on computer
Run the ruu
If you don't want stock and want a custom ROM if sounds like you don't have a custom recovery yet...so
Download the vivid toolkit on pc
Choose fast boot
Connect phone to PC
Choose wcx or clockworkmod
Click flash recovery
Follow instructions in post above mine...and next time ask in the q&a section

What mg said..If you choose to run an ruu..you'll need to relock the bootloader first

Hey guys,
So randomly my phone decided to just turn off (it was just idle on the home screen) and when I booted it back up it was in the Fastboot Menu.
I've tried reboot and even factory reset but neither work they just bring the phone right back to this when I turn it on anyone got any tips for me I'm hoping there's a really simple solution I have naively overlooked.
The screen says

A few months back I used a RUU to manually update to ICS and everything went fine and I had been running it fine for a long time so I'm not sure if that impacted on this in any way at all.
Anyway since this happened I've tried the old turning it off and on, battery out for an hour, sim out/sd out etc
Also the following:
I've tried running the RUU again but I get error 170 as it gets stuck at "waiting for bootloader" after it reboots the phone at the start of the process
(Tried in all my USB ports, reinstalling drivers/HTC Sync, using original cable)
I tried flashing from my SD card, it reads the zip and asks would you like to update but after I click yes it goes for a few seconds and then says "Partition Update Failed" and prompts me to reboot. (Tried multiple sd's)
I tried to unlock the phone using the HTCDev unlock, however once I get my token and use it to get to the unlock screen on the phone I am unable to select yes my phone simply does not acknowledge the option when I press the power button it instead vibrates a few times and then inevitably I end up selecting the No option after much frustration.
I should probably mention that fastboot lists my device under devices but adb does not.
I would have tried making a goldcard but I currently cannot obtain my CID through adb nor by using readcid.exe with my laptop card reader.
So if anyone could help me out that would be much appreciated as I don't have a warranty on this or anything and HTC support were of exceedingly little help.

Yeah I had a look at that before, I hadn't unlocked my phone before with htcdev but even then when I did try I was able to get my token and run the command and everything perfectly fine and even it takes me to the "Would you like to unlock your phone?" screen on my phone but I am unable to select the yes option and complete the final step which is the frustrating part.

U will need to Downgrade your device from ICS to GB or anything else ...At times it can be Windows 8 ,8.1 issue also ...The driver are still messed up search the forum u will find working way to get driver's work ..Error(170) which means your phone is blank to flash image to boot from or Os for starters..Can u boot in bootloader (Y) then simply working your way via CMD (windows 7 if u can access). It says RELOCKED on your device(Security warning can you paste a screen snap) .
1:- Flash a recovery(if yes skip this)
2:- boot into boot bloader (install any rom via recovery)
3:- flash boot.img manually (fastboot flash boot boot.img)
If it does not work REunlock ur device via htcdev.com
If you were trying to downgrade is HBoot Version (the same issue might happen)
Take stuff's real slow (make sure u do have correct driver installed on your pc )
Hi, this evening i was asked by my mother to take some pictures off her HTC one and put them on to her Mac computer. SO i connected the USB lead, HTC sync installed from the phone and i transferred the pictures across. I disconnected the phone firstly on the mac and then removed the lead.
Ten minutes later the phone had reset itself and was now at the bootloader menu.
The menu options do the following
Reboot: reboots back to fastboot
reboot bootloader: reboots back to fastboot
bootloader: opens next menu ...
Fastboot: returns to previous menu
recovery: vibrates, androids go to centre of screen for second then goes back to previous menu
factory reset: vibrates, androids go to centre of screen for second then goes back to previous menu
The info on the first menu is:

The rom was whatever the stock one 02 put in for England. It has never been modded in anyway and is still on an 02 contract, this is a totally vanilla HTC one.
Please if anybody can help me with this i would be insanely grateful.

This is the One M7 forum, K2_UL is One SV, you should post in the correct forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-sv
Meanwhile you could try to erase cache using fastboot (fastboot erase cache) and reboot the phone manuualy using "fastboot reboot" command. Its not a good sign if the factory reset didn't worked....
Today I woke up and wanted to get my HTC desire 500 to work again.
One day, almost 4 years ago, it just dropped dead (wouldn't start, it was locked on the htc logo).
I tried to get my datas transferred on my pc but it was locked with a password and i wasn't able to access any datas.
Now, hoping that someone might help me cause I'm going a bit mad about it, I will explain my now issues.
FIrst of all: I never used Roms or anything strange, I'm pretty naive in those things.
The phone was dead when i first started it, so I tried recharging it, it just kept vibrating, 7 times, I tried changing the adapter and nothing really changed until I got to the reboot menu section after trying for a bit.
I tried Bootloading it (I really have no idea what any option should do, so I tried the ones that wouldn't delete my old datas as I'm here just for those), rebooting the bootloader, recovery and power down. Nothing happens, I get stuck in this menu section with no hope to get out.
I tried connecting it with a usb cable to my pc, hoping to get some datas by transferring with some external programs, but, although the phone knows that he is connected (there i written fastboot usb when i connect it, otherwise there is written fastboot ac) my pc doesn't recognize it. I went to the device manager and the error is really strange: "can't start up the device (Code 10) It was specified an unexistent device."
I'm not english and the error may not be written with these same exact words, but that is the meaning.
The phone is, obviously, locked (I remember the password cause I never used a different one) but I can't unlock it normally as it won't start up normally. I had no backups and I was dumb for that, but I fell like I'm going crazy over this thing.
On the menu screen this is what it is written:
***locked***

FASTBOOT AC
<VOL UP>
<VOL DOWN>
<POWER>
BOOTLOADER

REBOOT BOOTLOADER
POWER DOWN
I really want this phone to start normally or at least to regain some of the datas from it.
Sometimes the menu doesn't start and the phone just keeps vibrating while recharging or while not, but in the end it does start again with the same screen.
