Hello peops,
I was wondering if someone has a app for eclair to rotate screen without sliding keyboard out.
My keyboard doesn't work very good and I like the Android keyboard in landscape.
Maybe there allready is something like this or maybe it has to be written.
Hope you guys can help on this.

Moved as not ROM Development.

i want to use the onscreen keyboard in landscape, too.!!!
it will work when u check ORIENTATION in display settings then slide out the kybd and pull it back in... the screen now turns wrong, but u can tap in the textfield and use it.
but the rotation does it the wrongway :/
Looks like it is impossible
I think I'm going back to WM anyway cause it is still to buggy.
Last friday I was at a party lost my friend and my phone stopped working.
I couldn't get it back to work it just stopped at the first splashscreen.
8 February I'm picking up my Leo and then I can start fooling around with the kaiser.
Untill then I just hope somebody answers my question
And Mizi thx for your reply, this does work but it's not the way
Hope to hear from anyone soon.

I have L26 V9 6.1 professional rom...and i am having trouble using third party on screen keyboards. Ive downloaded and installed cootek touchpal, pocketcm keyboard and htc touch qwerty and none of them work. I have installed the sipchanger app also to make the onscreen keyboard stick after a soft reset but i cant even get the keyboard to come on the screen after i instal them succesfully, I go to start > settings input and once i choose the new keyboard, usually in WM 6.0 the keyboard would show up then i would need to use sip changer to make it stick....but when im in input settings the keyboards wont even show up on the screen. I dunno if this is a rom problem and i should post this in the rom section but is their another sip application i can use to make keyboards show up? sip changer isnt working for me but when i used duttys 6.1 apr 29 rom , my keyboards worked so i duunno whats up with the v9 rom......can someone help me figure this out so i can get an on screen keyboard to work...this rom didnt come with another third party app keyboard so i desperatly need another on screen keyboard other then this really small default white one...someone plz help
SIP keyboards
Same thing happenning to me. I have tried different third party .cabs and everything seems fine with the installation, but when I go to select the diamond keyboard nothing happens. Even if I use SIPchanger. It will do nothing.....
I got to work once, but then it stopped again. Some help please.
Holy Crap. What the hell!?
Seriously guys, If you posted this in Leo's V9 Thread. You would have gotten the answer.
Plus I know for darn sure that there are multiple answers in the v9 thread on how to do it.
You know how long that thread is? how long do we have to keep reading crap just so that we can get a decent answer? Why not just save us the trouble and tell us the answer here?
Well I'll search for it since I'm not lazy... but it would have been better if someone actually responded to this thread with a real answer.

The problem with your theory, is that others may have the same issue in the future. Then, when they go the the rom thread to which the problem pertains, they can't find the answer because it is in a whole other sub-forum instead of being in the rom thread.
If you are having issues with a rom, go to that thread and post your issue. Then when a fix is found, it is in the rom thread for future users to find.
I appreciate your frustration, but it is for the betterment of the community for the problems and fixes to be posted in the rom thread to which they pertain.
Thank you for understanding.
hello everyone.
i am the new proud (debatable) owner of the htc touch diamond gadget (cause thats what it is - a glorified phone).
before the diamond i had (and still do) a 1st generation iphone.
some of the issues with the iphone that made me get the diamond are:
- no bluetooth file transfer
- no flash (ya i know the diamond has no flash but no problem)
- loses network connectivity a lot! (currently on 2.2)
- no sms message forwarding
- the interface is really annoying ... screw apple's design. i find it very lame and very unfriendly
Now. ... being that the diamond has (1)wm6.1 and (2) a smaller screen i'd expect the developers to englarge the fonts / dialog boxes... but no they made everyone so damn time that even when i try to tap with my pinkly finger i cant get accurate results.
Problem 1
from the first time and until now whenever i do screen calibration it makes me go through the darn thing like 3 or more times. i am hitting the stupid cross right in the center .. i dont know if its not regestering it or not. i also have to apply lots of pressure... its frustrating.
Problem 2
being that i live in the middle east i require an arabic keyboard.
thank God HTC provided an arabic firmware that has the keyboard and the fonts. no more paying extra.
the problem is: the arabic keyboard is VERY tiny.
the english keyboard on the other hand comes in all varities and is beautiful ...
is there no way to make the arabic keyboard bigger ???
other than those two issues everything else is A ok. (for now)
Thank you!
as far as i am concerned in relation to problem 1..it can be furstrating sometimes, when you tap the screen hold on to the cross till it starts moving and then follow...try to get used to it. It is pretty basic
in relation to number 2...Be patient it has only been out a while and I am sure one of the boys is working on it...I would suggest you to start a new thread requesting bigger arabic keyboard and some will tune in
Finger or stylus?

...are you hitting the cross with your finger, 'cos the screen calibration is designed for the stylus - this hasn't changed from the early days. Come to think of it, neither has the boring calculator UI... thank you XDA!!

offtopic question: how come iphone has no screen calibration?
Hey guys,
I just did like 5 different google searches through the site and I cant find the HTC Black Dialer/Phone Canvas cab.
Does anyone happen to have one?
Thanks a bunch!
Daniel
You didn't look hard enough I tell you
right on!!!
Honestly I did, the closet thing I found where the black IMG files from LantisOS ROM, but that didnt include the phone as well.
Thank you for the cab!
EDIT: Im trying to install this on top of Da_G's latest 6.5 ROM, and I am still getting the default Windows Dialer...do you know what I can do to make this work?
Yes, sometimes it's hard to find certain things. I simply wanted to find the black manila start panel skin for my TP and it took me hours but I finally found it.
Is there a version without the slide to answer?
I installed this cab and love the look but have been experiencing a glitch; the on-screen buttons get blurryed and are not responsive once a call is dailed and I press send. I cannot access the speakerphone/note/end call etc that are displayed in a blurred fashion...anyone else getting this?

I think it might be possible that it is the in call curtain you see. Have to slide it down to access buttons behind it.

I think you are right, thanks for the info!
Well this one was the charm for my Sprint TP. Works Great, and did not foul anything up
to whoever said they tried the s2a on wm6.5 with no luck.. I believe that the dialer is still an issue with wm6.5 that has yet to be fixed..compatability issues between htc and m$ i think..I also tried installing s2a and when i would receive a call the screen would glitch and switch between the traditional 6.5 slide to answer, the older 6.1 style answer screen, and the s2a screen lol very glitchy...
It seems that the awesome keyboard app called Swype has been ripped off the Samsung Omnia II and a CAB has been created to install on winmo WVGA devices.
Info on Swype can be found here: http://www.swypeinc.com/
CAB located here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ungnttnzmwa/Swype.cab
I installed it on my Imagio and let's just say that I am NOT going back to the regular keyboard anytime soon!!!!!
Enjoy and let me know if anyone finds any issues. I've only used it for about 10 minutes and haven't found anything thus far.
Looks pretty interesting I will have to give it a try later.
That does look pretty freakin' cool.
Just installed it on my Imagio...
WOW loving it thus far...
Top notch works great!
this is really awesome. very impressed with the accuracy so far.
can we make it so the keys pop up like the oem keyboard?
Thanks so much for sharing, this is awesome!
WM noob here -- installed fine but no change. What do i need to do to enable?
had same problem
Did you do a soft-reset?
enabling
No soft reset required. At the bottom of the screen, there's usually that keyboard icon. Just to the right of it is a small arrow. Using the stylus helps for those of is big fingered folks.
Click that arrow and up will pop a menu. Select "Other Input Methods" and then select Swype.
You won't need to do that again, unless you do a soft-reset of the phone at any time.
Ahhh there it is; thx buddy.
Former BB users have stylus "lapses" from time to time....
No problemo.....
us newbies have to stick together.
Best Keyboard I have ever used!
Awesome working great easy to use
I have the vzw tp2. this thread should be in something else since it works on other devices.
also why won't the keyboard stay on swype when you turn off the phone?
thanks its working perfect
Might just be the best app for WM yet!
I was skeptical . . . but now I am hooked! It takes a bit of getting used to, but it REALLY does make typing on a soft-keyboard easy. I don't need no STINKING slideout keyboard!
You can use SIPChange to make Swype be the default keyboard when you do a power off/power on.
This keyboard is ****ing psychic

i also had the default keyboard problem and used SIPChange...
"Apparently this is a bug with WM 6.5. Use the cab SIPChanger to set swype as the default keyboard, this setting will even survive a soft reset ( thank god )
Make sure to set the startup delay thingy to 40 seconds or the program will crash on startup." (quote from Survivalism over at PPC).
He also posted the SIPChange cab on his thread...

I thanked him there and thank everyone here for all the help.
Hi guys, I just got my HTC pure a few days ago, and I'm trying to customize it. However I'm kinda a beginner at this, so I was hoping you guys would be kind enough help me with them. I have a series of question and any help is welcome.
1. How do I rotate the Manila screen? I had the TD2 tools install and it works on some programs. I think lyriquidperfection had already given the answer for this but I cant seem to find it. And if you're kind enough, please tell me how the programs work, coz there's no instruction anywhere.. BTW, the enable manila screen in the TD2 doesn't work and I have Manila 2.1.19183217.0 which the forum said should be able to rotate.
2. I cant get Manila to work with programs like S2P or Mircosoft Word, which is unusual since there programs support landscape view , any help with that?
3. I heard there a way for you to put shortcuts into Home tab, how do you do this? And can you change the background picture of other tabs other than just the home tab and the start menu?
4. At&T sent me a text said that I have to choose a data plan or they will choose one for me, which is a bummer. They changed the regulation in September and I didnt know anything about it. They should've sent mail to all customers about this. They didn't even tell me anything when I upgraded my phone until after the Sim card was activated. Anyway, is there a way to get out of this? if not, I read in the forum there a way for you to use your phone as a modern unnotice by AT&T, is this true?
5. Is there a way for the phone to rotate in more than the 2 default directions? When I check the G-sensor, it detects all directions.
6. The last one is flash ROM, there a ROM in this forum that the guys was able to make the Manila Screen Rotate sideway, and he got the music player rotates too. But I dont really like the look of the whole display. So my question is can I install a ROM and use only parts of it functions while left the others the way it is? And Do you think Flashing ROM is a better solution than using TD2 for G-sensor rotation?
Here a link to the ROM: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562942 (I cant post a link since I'm a new user)
Thank you in advance for all your helps!
3) Shortcuts in Manila home screen is a feature of Manila 2.5. You would have to flash to a ROM using this version. It is possible to have the same image in all tabs using one of two methods. Either with bg4alltabs or with HDWall. Search the forum to learn more.
I can't help much with your other questions as most are rotate based and i don't bother with that!
Thanks DirkGently1 for responding . I actually solved number 1, 2, and 5 which are all about rotation. I edited the registry of some programs and used G-config for the rest. Somehow it worked like a charm. For some reasons TD2 Tools didn't seem to work on my phone. For #6, it turned out I have to unlock my phone to be able to Flash ROM and I'm just happy with the way my phone is now so maybe in the future. Still #4, does anyone knows how to get out of the data plan?
