Where ??? I found only (not exactly same) kind of this for Touch Pro 2.
@jerpelea: Your idea is good. If you would mix very light-weight ROM and newest fatsal's XPdroid build with GenY's DualBoot app it would be very nice.
PS: Every idea which pushes development further is good.
Do you plan to put the distribution inside the flash too?! This way it might be faster as SD card is not as fast as ROM. If yes - so looking forward to see this!!!
never mind. I can't read...
Please ignore the 'we already have this' post, and develop this!
this could be very interesting!
Do you plan to have applications in this ROM too?
Because the one who's directed to a couple of post earlier has non, so that one is kinda useless...
So, like I said: please develop this! I'm lookin forward to it!
that's a very nice idea
wm will be transparent
8 seconds and it jumps directly to android
wm+haret replaces the bootloader so you can not interact or see the wm interface
yes
i want to include android inside this rom (not shure if i can)
as i said i have tested it on elf and it works
I think android on xperia is still very buggy (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609463) i.e. screen flipped... so imho it's a bit premature to cook a full flash to use android, haret is fine for debugging and let us use the phone 100% with windowsmobile. Maybe you can focus on developing a proper build before focus on flash
sure I will try this Droid thing if it is coming from you

Why so nagative? Instead support this guy! fatsal and jerpelea can learn a lot from each other and thus speed up the andriod development for the X1. Besides that we don't already have this... (unless I missed something).
fatsal his Android version does not include a lightweight windows mobile and is dependent on 3rd party tools like the dual boot loader if you want to boot it straight away when yuo turn your X1 on.
Anyway, I hope both jerpelea and fatsal will work together to solve all the bugs still at large with Android on the X1.
Good luck jerpelea!

I agree that it's kind of premature, however it could be a nice test to see if it runs any faster than from a flash card. I'm quite excited about the possibility of android on the x1 as the biggest problems I have with my x1 come from the limitations of the wm6 architecture.
i think its a good idea. am looking forward to it
This is very good idea. I look forward this rom jeprelea
i really support this project .. and am looking forward to play with that .. and may be switch completely if it goes well
I fully support this effort...if this works (and the screen is flipped the right way), I will probably use it and quit the slow WM OS!

Anyone else haveing problems? I have tryed both Android & Angstrom and i cant get ether of the to boot. HaRET seems to load to 100% then it freezes, and i have to remove the battery to recover. I have tryed both about 6 times with the same result. Im running the oem rom (no cooked rom yet) and its a x1i from the uk
Having the same problem
HaRET says booting Linus and the progress bar shows almost 100% and then the phone frezzez. Both for Angstrom and Android.
But it looks like there has been some breakthru, nice one guys
I don't get it
i have the same result as in the old post....

So, this is my first WM6.1 ROM it is still in Beta phase. I'm looking for some people who want to help me develop this ROM any further. The ROM is still far from perfect, but is pretty good for daily usage.
Who wants to beta test? Report here and I will send you a PM.
What do I expect from you?
- First of all use it as it is, after a few hours of working with it you can customize the phone to your belongings.
- Use it as you would normally do
- Report bugs/issues in this thread

What's to know?
Since this ROM is still in beta, things are not perfect, the known bugs until so far:
- Bluetooth doesn't work - Fixed
- Taskmanager displays white square - Fixed!
This ROM uses the Extendir method which means there are a least as possible applications cooked in the ROM. After the setup process you can run the preset installer on your SD card.
I have included a few packages with this ROM, but actually its entirely up to you what to do with the ROM. See this thread for how to make cabs for extendir: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=530710
With this you can setup Manila, and all other applications you want/need.

Congratulations on your first ROM. Benchmarks look good. Extendir is going to kick some but. Once you can get all you png, bmp, gif, htm files from SYS out of windows directory it will really fly. I just haven't had time to work on it yet.

I'm just improving my boot.rgu and packages I cook in atm. Haven't even looked at removing the picture files from the windows directory.
Just for my own curiosity, I've inserted those results into my benchmark's spreadsheet and found out that according to your results it might be the best performing rom around. Extendir looks pretty nice

Ok I'll send you the PM.
I have cabbed Manila, audiomanager, well you will see when you download the ROM. It's just a way to show you what is possible, but it really is up to the user to do whatever he/she wants to.
In my opinion extracting files from sys is the best thing you can do.
There could be problems with firsttime users because they dont know how to set up things and maybe dont even know what they want
The old way to cook roms are an easier start for them.
thanks for the rom. I will report bugs if i find them
Ulti~
benchmark results are looking fantasic for a 1st beta, cant wait till you develop this one more
Yep nice speed for a BETA!! ROM. Preset Installer needs like 10 minutes to install Manila xD (there are many files to copy)

Hi all,
I am trying to use this build but I have some issue partitionning my sd-card.
In fact after partitionning under Ubuntu, my phone does not recognized the card whereas it is seen by Windows XP and OSX.
Is the problem due to the swap partition?
I am using the latest Energy Rom on my Topaz.
Thank you.
As long as you partition your MicroSD card as per the picture you should have no issues.
I did it OK using Linux Mint.
Just modify the command lines to match the partition for your card. On mine the Fat32 was sdh1 and the EXT2 was sdh2
@vatoloco: any chance we can have Sense as the UI?

Ok per the initial registration video i looked and searched if there was a similar topic for this and found none for this device. Now what i would like to ask for is for the Gears of War Theme that was made for the Epic 4G to be ported to the Thunderbolt... Here is a link to the post with the download link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1137545 ... Now i do not know if this is an extensive port or if i will be able to just download and flash the existing to my device but currently i am just rooted, i had tinkered with the Cyanogen Mod 7 but i didn't fully feel the love on it yet so if someone will let me know what i need to do to be able to run this flawlessly after its ported as well i will be in full appreciation and forever thanks to the dev that can come up with this for me and all other Gears fans. Thank you all in advance for even looking at this post.

What rom are you running?
As of current i am running CL3ANTH3ORY V1.0. Have also tried the CM7. i'm up for switching to any rom that will allow me to run this faster. my about phone shows that Android Version 2.3.4, HTC Sense Version 2.1, and i have the 2.5 Radio since i am currently running GB roms. but i will gladly downgrade to have this on my device.

Alright, I am working on a port for that rom ... I will get basics done so you have something, then update you with more detailed theme, time is of short for me.
Thank you so much. I'm excited and cannot wait to see your port. i know it will make a bunch of Gears fans excited.

You are a god among men... I would love for you to upload. and i can skin it on this weekend. Which rom did you build it for obviously a sense rom but would it need to just be rooted or with rom... any instructions on how to install would be awesome. as well

This is actually beginner stuff... I wish I were a god. I built it on the rom you said you were using (CL3ANTH3ORY V1.0). This should be flashed via recovery. I am not able to figure out at current time how to get the BG to flash so you'll have to set that yourself. I will try to get the update up within the hour. Happy Flashing
