I have bricked my Hera100 when i flashed OS only
its has the following :
IPL 5.04.0001
SPL 5.04.0000
GSM 03.07.90
OS 1.8.0.0
IT HANGS AT STARTUP SHOWING ABOVE DETAILS ONLY . PLEASE ANY ONE HELP PLEASE. THANKS

Okay. First, think you're going to want to do is flash back to the original WING/HERALD ROM - Click this link:TMo_Wing_RUU_Update_4.26.531.4
Also make sure to take out your sd card in your expansion bay if you have one.
Second, put your device into the bootloader by soft resetting your device (pressing in your stylus in the little hole on the left side of your device - then hold the camera button - until you get to a red-blue-green-white screen) then run the TMo_Wing_RUU_Update_4.26.531.4.
Then install the 3 CABs in this order:
1. Canon Yang.cab
2. ASerg Policies.cab
3. Disable Security.cab
6. Soft reset the phone.
7. Download the HardSPL folder, extract it, and place it on the Desktop.
8. Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe located in the HardSPL folder. Update the ROM using the steps on the screen. The screen on the device will become white, but wait until the phone reboots itself. It could be 10-15 minutes.
9. Phone should boot back into Canon Yang ROM. This is the HardSPL ROM. So far so good.
10. Check your SPL by going to bootloader again. If it says 4.70.yang, you are good as gold and HardSPLed.
If this works you can show you're patronage by trying one of my ROMs.

It shows me invalid vendor ID but am trying to change your ROM to suite this device but i dont know how to ue mtty to get its CID infor. how can i get its CID infor????

Go the the wingster dot com. click roms, click tmobile wing, click 6.0 click download, it will take you to the tmobile website.
Enter the number located back of phone under battery. Download the StockRom. make sure you emter your phone into boot loader and install the stock rom. You don't need to be Hard SPLed. Should work because it worked for me. After your phone works just HardSPL your phone so you don't Brick it again.

Follow those instructions but do NOT download the Tmobile Wing's ROM since you don't have a Wing. Download the HTC ROM that was made for your device. (His SPL is only found on some Heralds, not on the Wing or other Atlas devices.)

PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO STEPS 3. 3A,3B,3C...
1. Download which version of Touch IT you want. For the Last version made, here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340403
2. Backup any information you wouldn't want to lose. Either backup to memory card or PC; your choice
3. At this point, You need to install the official RUU for your device, if you're already running the official RUU, then you need to hard reset your device. (Press and hold both soft keys and press reset button, continue to hold softkeys til screen displays to hard reset. Press the call button to continue). If you need to install the official RUU, continue to step 3a4Here is a list of uploaded RUUs
3a. Enter bootloader on your phone (Hold camera button and press reset, continue holding camera until a screen with 3 gradient colors shows up
3b. Connect your computer via USB to your ppc (Pocket PC)
3c. Run the RUU .exe from your hard drive, follow its simple onscreen instructions and click check boxes necessary to continue with the installation. This should take a few minutes, and you will more then likely see your screen flash and change things, this is normal, let it work. After a few minutes it will boot up and go into "automatic customization of your device", I continued this (screen alignment, tips, auto setup), and waited for my device to be totally ready for me to use.
4. Connect your device via USB to the PC and wait for activesync. If it automatically pulls up a profile for your phones sync, delete that profile. If it asks again to setup device for syncing items, click cancel. You will still be able to explore your phone and install devices without setting up the sync profile for your phone.
5. Make sure your phone is connected as a guest, if it is not, make sure it is. The method I used to do this was this zip file I ran "guest only" registration entry. (Make sure and run allow partnership registration after completing installation), but it should display as guest after the hard reset.
6. Copy aserg policies.cab to your mobile device
7. Run aserg policies.cab from your device
8. Soft reset (use stylus for button on side of wing, or on bottom of herald)
9. Go into your comm manager on your phone, and disable "phone". Basically enter flight mode so nothing can be sent to your phone during this process.
10. Once booted, its time to give it a shot. Make sure you're still connected as guest, and run !Upgrade_rom.bat from Touch_it folder on your PC
11. This will bring up a command prompt waiting for you to hit a key to begin, press any key
12. During this time it is installing, NEVER touch your phone or play with it in any matter. It may look as though the command prompt has gotten hung up at times, but leave it run until it completes (or fails). your phone will pop up a message saying "unknown status" or the likes, but dont close that window, like I said just leave it alone.
13. If you have no error messages in the command dialogue box then you're ready to hard reset your phone. (press both softkeys, and press reset, continue holding softkeys til you see a dialogue asking if its okay to restore settings, hit the call button to finish it)
14. Your device SHOULD boot normally, go through setup, and you should be golden.
If at any time there is an error during install, but you still let it complete, you might have a chance at it working. Hard reset it after completion (even with errors) just to see if it works. If it wont go past your Tmobile or HTC picture screen on bootup, then you have bricked your device. To UNbrick it, run steps 3a through 3c and reinstall the RUU.
If you get any errors, try and try again. Its proven working on several devices.
thank you very much for your help, but i cant find the offical RUU?

You defenitifly flashed a rom from teh HARD-SPL RUU folder...
... or you left a SPL.nbh inside your RUU folder.....
All roms are found in my signiture "All roms"
And for better flashing... download latest TouchIT6.1.3 and replace the RUUsigned.nbh with a one you will flash.
Or flash the TouchIT 6.1.3
I know hardspl sorked for you.
If flashing isn´t working
PUT device in BOOTLOADER (cam + softreset) then it MUST work
Good luck

But on the releases from Itje there is a note that is won't work without HARD-spl? So what is the difference? (I don't know if I ask stupid questions, forgive me)
If you have used hard-spl once on your phone, you dont need to do it again
I include in my rom releases what u need to flash
just run the rom.exe file, and the phone will update.

How to Flash HardSPL
1) Find out your IPL
-- Do a Soft Reset (Push Button under volume w/Stylus)
-- While doing Reset, hold the Camera button, it should bring up the Bootloader menu and list your IPL (I think, it has been a while since I haven't been running HardSPL)
2) Verify your IPL is 4.xxx or Higher!
3) Boot your phone Again
4) BEFORE Hard-SPL--go to Settings->Connections->USB to PC and check that checkbox
5) Download HardSPL:
http://rapidshare.de/files/38148213/HardSpl_WM6.rar.html
6) Transfer these files to the phone:
--- a) install canonyang.cab
--- b) install aserpolicy.cab
--- c) install disablesecurity.cab
7) Soft Reset again
8) Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe
9) screen will become white - WAIT until it reboots itself (Should be like 10-15 min)
10) Phone will boot back to your main ROM
11) Soft Reset, Hold Camera button, check if SPL is 4.70.yang
Okay, now HardSPL is on
12) Download Your ROM
There are 2 ways of doing this now, either
1) Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe - When finished, go to Step 8.
-OR-
2) Put RUU_signed.nbh on your SD-Card and call it HERAIMG.nbh
3) Soft Reset, hold the Camera button
4) It will say: PRESS KEY TO INSTALL or something like that...
5) Press the volume button down or up
6) The ROM should begin to Extract/Install
7) When it finishes, do a Soft Reset
8) You should have your new ROM now!
Good Luck!

I followed the instructions, however when I turn on the phone holding down the camera button I get a white screen that states searching for SD Card (the white screen disappears quickly) then a new screen with RED, Green, Blue, White stripes with the IPL & SPL INFO, there is no option to press up to install the ROM. The ROM is in the Root of the Storage card named written as such in your walk through.

What size Card are you using?
I cannot get my 4GB or 8GB Card to flash... I have to use a 2GB card (I think it is SDHC Drivers not loading in BootLoader)
That is most likely your problem.
Try to get a hold of a smaller one (Maybe borrow one)

I had a 4gb in there, so that might be part of the problem, as time went on there was more going on it seemed. I finally got it to go back to that flash that came with the HardSPL software.
In order to do it, I started off by taking your advice. First I put in an older Lexar 2gb chip into the phone (Non-SDHC), then re-installed the three cabs that come with the hardSPL (installing them to the device, not the SD card). Then had to put the phone into the mode with the 4 different color bars (press and release the soft reset button while holding down the camera button till the bars showed), and finally I started the RUU from the PC since it still did not see or take the NBH file off of the root directory of the 2gb Micro SD.
I hope it does not get flippy like that again. The darn phone was deleting its own files as it was unhappy on the last build. Thanks for the tip on the SD swap. I'll be sure to keep that in my bag of tricks should it happen again.

Those CABs can go anywhere. You need to put them somewhere (root of the SD works for simplicity)
So put the CABs on the root of the SD Card
Use File Explorer or Total Commander (Whichever you have on the phone) to navigate to your SD Card and run the 3 CAB files (Order does not matter) - Install them to the phone (Not the SD Card)
Then run the Installer from your PC as stated in the instructions.
*Note: Installing HardSPL will also install a New ROM (It is some old version of PDAViet I think)
As for installing your old ROM again, you would use a different method.
Similar to installing HardSPL, there is a PC-Based installer for the stock ROM, this ROM will revert you to T-Mobile default OS and back to SoftSPL.
I can upload this ROM later when I get home if you would like...
I think i got the CAB part understood.
When I do the HARDSPL I should have a ROM ready to install correct may I ask what you reccommend I have never used any of them so all new to me.
Could you please upload the stock rom to revert back to t-mobile, the installer and softSPL or what ever I need.

I would have the ROM you want ready, otherwise you would be stuck with the HardSPL ROM (Which you probably don't want to use)
I would suggest Just2Clean.
It is customizable & fast. (Can be found in the ROM Dev forum)
Stock ROM:

so with the stock rom I can go back to my t-mobile theme at any time or do I need to get rid of the HARDSLP first?
1 more question my phone is Windows Mobile 6 Pro so do I need to stick with wm6 rom or can I do like wm6.1

The Stock ROM installer puts SoftSPL back on the phone.
Windows Mobile 6.1 is just modified version of Windows Mobile 6.
It doesn't matter.

Try using Flash Center (http://rapidshare.com/files/202330180/Flash_Center.rar.html)
1) Put the phone in BootLoader (Make sure it says SPL 4.70.yang)
-- To get in BootLoader: Do a Soft Reset while holding down the Camera Button
2) Put the ROM in the 'RUU' folder (Name it anything [No spaces/special characters]) and try flashing using ROMUpdateUtility
If SPL is not 4.70.yang:
Try Re-Flashing HardSPL
If it won't stay connected long enough to flash (Gives an error upon flashing)
- When the Phone reboots itself, try holding the Camera button again, it sometimes will keep going
If you STILL can't get it going..
- Search desperately for a different SD Card (Make sure it is formatted in FAT32/FAT16)

Don't dispair! I had the same problem and got out of the situation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377&p=3677341
You probably have the wrong Original Rom from HTC installed (may wrong language).
To solve the situation you will need USPL. USPL will install. If you are using Windows Vista you will probably have to update the drivers (See the thread).
Once USPL is running install the Original HTC 1.56-ROM.
but how can i can i installl uspl if every time i get into bootloader it turns off after 10 seconds and then turns back on...
nobody else can help??????
Try to take out the battery for one minute or two, then see what happens when switching on.
If ok (usual start) make usual normal bootloader state, and see what is your SPL. Then decide which flash you have to do.

Flash back your original ROM, you don't need USPL to do this.
For your original ROM look at this link:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone_Ship_exe
If you have problem flashing with you PC, you can try to flash from SD just extracting the files from the original ROM exe you downloaded on a temp folder (you can use winrar to do it), rename the "ruu_signed.nbh" to "BLACIMG.nbh", copy it to the root of your SD card, and flash the rom from the tri-color screen by pressing the power button.
Then, if everything is fine and your phone work again, you can think to flash a coocked ROM using USPL.
NOTE: you can read the wiki to learn something more, start here:

It mean your phone stay at bootloader? tri-color sreen with SPL you can see. It's ok. You should download USPL 2.5 and Rom ship 1.56.4xx. Fisrt you flash SPL by running blac_uspl , your SPL will be change to 1.15USPL, then you flash ship rom 1.56.4xxx, then everything will be ok. Give it a try
Note : It's more stable if you use Win XP.
from my experience with HTC Wizard and what you are describing it
sounds like
your battery is very close to dead
you need to find a way to recharge it
your phone is protecting it by shutting off
also i don't know how valid this is for the Blackstone
but the wizard would not charge in tri-color mode
(again for battery sake)
so make sure you have a nicely charged battery (buy a spare or a table charger)
and then try to flash something again
P.S. i don't know how one sentence cries for help peppered with EXCLAMATION points encourage anyone to help you

A clarification of the above post. When you have 3 colors (actually 4 with white color) and USB on the white band you have to start blac_uspl.exe. That will replace the original bootloader of your phone with cracked temporary bootloader named USPL. At this stage it shall no more give errors and you may flash it from the PC or from the memory card.
The suggestion for the battery also seems fair.

You have to copy the BLACIMG.nbh on the microSD using a USB card reader, not your phone. Then with the microSD on the phone, in the tri-color screen, it will automatically flash your ROM, if you don't have low battery of course.
If you want to use USPL to flash a coocked ROM (for your original official rom is not needed). Your phone have to stay at tri-color screen for more then 10s.
Perhaps your problem is a low battery as someone already suggested.
Do you have tried to remove battery and put it back, let the phone off and charge it with the wall charger?
lol i did have low battery... how unlucky am i... it would shut off every so often....
but i fixed!!!!
i took out the battery and synced it with the cable..... without a battery inside and it worked!!!
I love you guys!!!!

Dont stress so much next time. When your stressed out you dont think with a clear head. Glad it worked out for you.
The changing of ROM only seems can not brick your phone. Only unsuccessful changing of SPL can. Until SPL is OK you may ever flash new ROM.

Help about flashing roms

Hi! I have a question about roms. I want to flash my rom with let"s say shadowmans win 6.5, but i dont know how, because everyone is talking about hardspl and branded phones. I have i stock rom now (6.1) and i have hardspl preinstalled, does that mean that i can flash any rom i want or what? What is the quickest way to flash and what can u do if flashing fails? I need a quick giude for dummies. Thanks for all your help!
the easiest way to flash is with custom RUU it is explaind in hspl Wiki- as you will use this to flash hspl
download newest hspl 1.83 olinex and flash it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520312
download ROM
connect you topaz to pc in active syns mode
open CustomRUU it us usually included with downloaded ROM
follow the instructions
then you can flash the radio again use the wiki
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Topaz_Radio_ROM
hope this can get you started
If you definitely have hspl 1.83 olinex installed (you can check from the 3 colour bootloader screen - completely switch off your topaz and switch on again whilst holding volume down key), then you can flash any ROM using just your microsd card instead of connecting to your PC.
Download the ROM of your choice and extract the .nbh file from the archive or folder. It will be the biggest file in the archive. Rename this to TOPAIMG.nbh and put it in the root (top level) of your microSD card.
Make sure your battery is near to full, then turn off and restart your Topaz in bootloader mode as described above. It will detect the ROM and ask you to confirm upgrade. Simple as that. When it's complete and says "success" you can restart your phone using the reset button.
If ever it fails, you can simply do it again. Or, take out your microSD, put it in a card reader and put another TOPAIMG ROM file there, re-insert, and reflash.
Don't forget to delete the TOPAIMG file afterwards.
You can flash complete ROMs this way or just radio ROMs, it's the same process. I like this method because it's self-contained and doesn't rely on connection to your PC. Only make sure a) olinex 1.83 is installed already, and b) there's adequate battery left.
Don't forget to make a note of your stock ROM so that you can download it again in case you ever want to go back to it, or if you send your phone in for service.
problem
I did what you said but when I turn on the power with volume down press i can read, for a very short while, the word "no file image". What I have to do now? In the micro SD there is only the .nbh file and in the boot mode I can read that olinex 1.83 is installed.Help please.thanks a lot. Simon
I have checked that too, but i have hspl 1.33, does that mean i can flash any rom i want from my sd card or i must have 1.83 to do that?
Thanks for help

is your micro sd formatted with fat 32? must be formatted in order to flash a rom using a micro sd card first. you dont have to power down your device to flash from sd card either. just hold volume down and insert stylus in the soft reset hole. hold until bootloader screen comes up. after flashing a hard reset is recommended. thats when you power down the device. you have to wait till everything gets set up first though to get to where you can power down the device though. hold volume up and down button. while holding those buttons turn the power back on. then follow the instructions it says.

Is your ROM file named exactly TOPAIMG.nbh? Note the caps for the filename and lower case for the extension.
I was just reading another thread and apparently this is important for the bootloader to recognise it.
Please add one small comment to HSPL instructions
Few of us get "stuck" installing HSPL... Once you see a tricolor screen you are to follow RUU...but it says to be connected in activesync. yet if one looks on activesync you see your device is disconnected.
Please add "wait a minute" and just click OK on RUU. By then it is connected just doesn't show in activesync. Flash and all should be good.

I haven't burned a new ROM yet but have been getting the pieces together
I have an AT&T Pure which comes stock with WinMo 6.5 and also comes with
a Stock HSPL 1.83 (I believe 1.83 is required for all 6.5 and above?)
I think there is a potential area of confusion here for Pure users
(Especially since the other Topaz came with WinMo 6.1 and HSPL 1.33)
there is an OEM HSPL 1.83 and an Olinex modified 1.83 that will unlock
the phone.
Correct me if I'm wrong but
The one that is actually needed is the "modified"
1.83 OliNex (available here on XDA from Olinex as a sticky)
Can someone confirm this "subtle" difference???
I've gone to the tri-color Boot screen and the stock Pure only says
HSPL 1.83 (it does does not say OliNex)
my current understanding is that I will need to
burn the Olinex HSPL over my Stock OEM 1.83
before adding a new ROM??
One final question is after I reburn the new Olinex HSPL
Do I need to install the new ROM at that point?
Or could I use my phone? (with old stock Rom plus new HSPL)
Just want know if I'd be "off the air" at that point or not?
(So maybe I'll wait with R1+ over the latest Dutty Rom)
TIA
Hope this can at least promote some understanding

Need help: Installed SPL 1.33 before reverting to shipped ROM

Hey everyone, as the title suggests, I'm a big noob.
I actually flashed SPL 1.33 before flashing a shipped / stock rom. I'm going to send my unit for warranty (it has a lot of dead pixels now :S).
Now when I try flashing a shipped rom, it says "Not allowed" when it goes to the white screen.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Reflash to HSPL, then shipped ROM, then SSPL.
The system doesn't boot up anymore, actually. It get's stuck in the "HTC Diamon II" opening...
Try a hard reset, if not,
You'll have to flash everything from SD Card by renaming each .nbh file to TOPAIMG.nbh and entering bootloader mode, HSPL then ROM

Hard reset didn't work.
What do you mean "rename each .nbh file to TOPAIMG.nbh"? Could you please clarify a bit?
Thank you so much for your reply.
Something a little similar for me, that I solved removing sd and flashing without sd.

Alright, try this;
1. Take the HSPL183 .nbh file and rename it to RUU_signed.nbh.
2. Find the TopazRUU.exe file and put both into same folder.
3. Soft reset your phone while holding the volume key down to go to bootlloader mode.
4. Once the tri-colored screen show 'USB at the bottom, run the RUU.exe.
5. Once it completes at 99%, hold your volume key again before it resets.
6. When back to Bootloader mode, verify your SPL says 1.83.Olinex.
7. Repeat the same for the HSPL 2.51 file.
8. If you have your stock ROM, right click on the .exe and extract it to a folder.
9. Take that RUU_signed.nbh and put into same folder as TopazCustomRUU.exe. You can replace the first one, or copy the RUU.exe to a new folder.
10. Go back to Bootloader and run the RUU.exe with the ROM .nbh file.
11. Then follow steps for the relocker.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the prompt response, Bruce.
I'll try that out when I get home.
Thanks again.
Hey Bruce, thanks for all the help so far. I tried flashing it after work, but I reach up to step 4 but it freezes at 0% and the CustomRUU.exe basically says that it has some kind of communication error.
Am I downloading the right files? I got the files that I tried to use (both hspl and ruu) from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520312

You are pulling the correct files.
All I can suggest is to try the same thing with the Topaz-HardSPL_V5_00R5_183HSPL.zip file from that thread. Connect in Bootloader mode and once you get the 'USB to show, try running the .exe in that file.
Unfortunately I don't think it will work, because the autoinstaller attempts to access through Active Sync, and you can't sync at this point.
What does your SPL show in Bootloader currently, 1.33.000?
Well I was glad to see I'm not the only clown out there
Just wanted to thank Bruce. Last night I also reloaded the stock/1.33 SPL before reloading the rom and completely messed up my phone. I could get it right up until the progress bar, but it would just sit at 0% forever. After reading a couple of threads (where Bruce was involved) I tried a new tactic.
Downloaded the Official HTC WM6.5 release, booted into tri colour, connected the usb and launched the app. It actually first upgrades your SPL to 1.83 and then reloads the new rom, all in one go.
Give it a shot.
Thanks again
Yes, it currently says 1.33.000.
Let me give what Rafiqc did a try.
Ah yes, I forgot about trying to flash the stock ROM over the Stock SPL.
Glad I could help, even if inadvertantly...
