Need help: Installed SPL 1.33 before reverting to shipped ROM - Touch Diamond2, Pure Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone, as the title suggests, I'm a big noob.
I actually flashed SPL 1.33 before flashing a shipped / stock rom. I'm going to send my unit for warranty (it has a lot of dead pixels now :S).
Now when I try flashing a shipped rom, it says "Not allowed" when it goes to the white screen.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Reflash to HSPL, then shipped ROM, then SSPL.

The system doesn't boot up anymore, actually. It get's stuck in the "HTC Diamon II" opening...

Try a hard reset, if not,
You'll have to flash everything from SD Card by renaming each .nbh file to TOPAIMG.nbh and entering bootloader mode, HSPL then ROM

Hard reset didn't work.
What do you mean "rename each .nbh file to TOPAIMG.nbh"? Could you please clarify a bit?
Thank you so much for your reply.

Something a little similar for me, that I solved removing sd and flashing without sd.

Alright, try this;
1. Take the HSPL183 .nbh file and rename it to RUU_signed.nbh.
2. Find the TopazRUU.exe file and put both into same folder.
3. Soft reset your phone while holding the volume key down to go to bootlloader mode.
4. Once the tri-colored screen show 'USB at the bottom, run the RUU.exe.
5. Once it completes at 99%, hold your volume key again before it resets.
6. When back to Bootloader mode, verify your SPL says 1.83.Olinex.
7. Repeat the same for the HSPL 2.51 file.
8. If you have your stock ROM, right click on the .exe and extract it to a folder.
9. Take that RUU_signed.nbh and put into same folder as TopazCustomRUU.exe. You can replace the first one, or copy the RUU.exe to a new folder.
10. Go back to Bootloader and run the RUU.exe with the ROM .nbh file.
11. Then follow steps for the relocker.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the prompt response, Bruce.
I'll try that out when I get home.
Thanks again.

Hey Bruce, thanks for all the help so far. I tried flashing it after work, but I reach up to step 4 but it freezes at 0% and the CustomRUU.exe basically says that it has some kind of communication error.
Am I downloading the right files? I got the files that I tried to use (both hspl and ruu) from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520312

You are pulling the correct files.
All I can suggest is to try the same thing with the Topaz-HardSPL_V5_00R5_183HSPL.zip file from that thread. Connect in Bootloader mode and once you get the 'USB to show, try running the .exe in that file.
Unfortunately I don't think it will work, because the autoinstaller attempts to access through Active Sync, and you can't sync at this point.
What does your SPL show in Bootloader currently, 1.33.000?

Well I was glad to see I'm not the only clown out there
Just wanted to thank Bruce. Last night I also reloaded the stock/1.33 SPL before reloading the rom and completely messed up my phone. I could get it right up until the progress bar, but it would just sit at 0% forever. After reading a couple of threads (where Bruce was involved) I tried a new tactic.
Downloaded the Official HTC WM6.5 release, booted into tri colour, connected the usb and launched the app. It actually first upgrades your SPL to 1.83 and then reloads the new rom, all in one go.
Give it a shot.
Thanks again

Yes, it currently says 1.33.000.
Let me give what Rafiqc did a try.

Ah yes, I forgot about trying to flash the stock ROM over the Stock SPL.
Glad I could help, even if inadvertantly...

restoring rom for warranty

I understand from the forum that to return my phone to Sony I need to restire an original rom and then run hardspl again. Is this all I need to do and will I still be able to hardspl it and reflash when it gets returned?
Thanks
first u need to flash back stock rom and then stock spl...
I actually had to do this yesterday myself. yeah, what ^he^ said.
Just flash the stock ROM which you can get from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=477801
Then you do a stockSPL which there is a tutorial in here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431218
Thanks, i dont quite get how to restore stock spl, I have the files but how do I overwrite it with the stock version? I read the tutorial but I just dont get it.
I reckon I'm missing something obvious but I get to:
3. run the hardspl package, but do not press Next button i.e do not go ahead with flash yet.
4. at this point, take the extracted stock SPL, a RUU_Signed.NBH file, and overwrite the other RUU_Signed.NBH in hardspl package.
5. go on with the RUU (or if needed, run SSPL-Manual.exe manually, then run RUU when it goes to tricolour screen with 0.52.OliNex version), it goes to 100%, reboots, done.
But I dont see any option or way of getting it to use the unzipped original SPL. I dont want to screw my phone and it has to go back to sony on weds. Can anyone expand on points 3 and 4 for me to make it a little clearer?
Many thanks,
run X1_hardspl in the hardspl folder that u extracted from X1_hardspl_v1.zip. but dont press the next button yet.
u should see many other files appear in the hardspl folder.
now extract the stockspl zip and copy that RUU_Signed.NBH file that u hv just extracted from the stockspl zip and paste it in the hardspl folder.
when sytem prompt to replace the existing file, go ahead and click yes. hence the overwrite. then carry on with the flash and press next.
perfect, thanks!! I knew i was doing something stupid, i was just running the exe from the zip without extracting it to it's own folder first!!
I've copied the file over, run it and it starts ok, the phone goes through tricolour then gets to a white screen with loading then hangs. The PC times out a while later with Error 260. I've tried different usb ports, cable, am running XP and the original Hardspl worked without a problem. Is there an answer to this? Cheers
I've tried this on 2 different PC's and no joy, how do i run this manually? I really need to get stock installed - this goes back to Sony tomorrow!

any solution for such issue???
please HELP!!!
you must to do a downgrade, if you have the haykuro SPL (danger SPL) you must to downgrade the SPL first, if you have a stock SPL skip this step. after that you must to Download the Original DreaIMG.nbh file ,
If the file downloaded above downloads as a .Zip file, please unzip it first then put the DreamIMG.nbh file that is inside on the SD card in root, NOT in any folder.
Turn the phone off if it is on.
Turn on the phone by holding the Camera button and the End key until the bootloader screen turns on.
Hit the End key to start the update. DO NOT INTERUPT THIS PROCESS.
this file is the ORIGINAL SPL :

this file is the DREAMIMG.NBH - (unzip the file and put the file in the SD card in root)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XXSQ0T7W
PD: if you have a hard brick you can't do anything with the phone. buy new one.

Okay. First, think you're going to want to do is flash back to the original WING/HERALD ROM - Click this link:TMo_Wing_RUU_Update_4.26.531.4
Also make sure to take out your sd card in your expansion bay if you have one.
Second, put your device into the bootloader by soft resetting your device (pressing in your stylus in the little hole on the left side of your device - then hold the camera button - until you get to a red-blue-green-white screen) then run the TMo_Wing_RUU_Update_4.26.531.4.
Then install the 3 CABs in this order:
1. Canon Yang.cab
2. ASerg Policies.cab
3. Disable Security.cab
6. Soft reset the phone.
7. Download the HardSPL folder, extract it, and place it on the Desktop.
8. Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe located in the HardSPL folder. Update the ROM using the steps on the screen. The screen on the device will become white, but wait until the phone reboots itself. It could be 10-15 minutes.
9. Phone should boot back into Canon Yang ROM. This is the HardSPL ROM. So far so good.
10. Check your SPL by going to bootloader again. If it says 4.70.yang, you are good as gold and HardSPLed.
If this works you can show you're patronage by trying one of my ROMs.

It shows me invalid vendor ID but am trying to change your ROM to suite this device but i dont know how to ue mtty to get its CID infor. how can i get its CID infor????
Go the the wingster dot com. click roms, click tmobile wing, click 6.0 click download, it will take you to the tmobile website.
Enter the number located back of phone under battery. Download the StockRom. make sure you emter your phone into boot loader and install the stock rom. You don't need to be Hard SPLed. Should work because it worked for me. After your phone works just HardSPL your phone so you don't Brick it again.
Follow those instructions but do NOT download the Tmobile Wing's ROM since you don't have a Wing. Download the HTC ROM that was made for your device. (His SPL is only found on some Heralds, not on the Wing or other Atlas devices.)

Help!! Touch pro 2

So my tp2 tmo rhod210 is sort of bricked =( when i boot it it is stuck on bootscreen. when i bootloader screen its at spl-0.79.0000. it was on oilnex85 but i relocked it. and now i cannot unlock it again. i use the usb to try to unlock it again but when trying to flash, it is stuck at 0. i cant flash anything else either. really need help =(
Why don't you flash a stock rom? Download the stockrom, rename the file from .exe to .zip. Then extract the .nbh file from it and put in on your SD card. Then flash from the bootloader. That should work.

Did you follow this procedure?
Flashing Via MicroSD Card
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32
2. Download your prefered Rom from the Rhodium Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your PC
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to RHODIMG.nbh
4. Copy the RHODIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
7. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
8. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.
Just out of curiosity, why did you restore the spl?
ohh i got it =) thanks. all good now. im selling it to another person. so it has to be original

Phone doesn't want to boot.

My TP2 stopped working ((((((
I was using it with some cooked ROM (i think it's not relevant what exactly). This morning i had my breakfast and i've got an SMS from an acquaintance. After this i couldn't see my home screen anymore, but i could still use start menu and so on. I wasn't first time as this error happened, so i didn't thought anything and just made a reboot. After this i saw bootloader screen and it was message about missing ROM shortly to see. Nohting else, only bootscreen, hard reset didn't work either. So i came home, connected my phone via USB to my notebook, powered it on and started to flash ROM. As flash was successfully complete, the phone rebooted and i saw... bootloader again!
So i don't know what to do now, anybody some thoughts?

Yes, i have a GSM TP2. As you advised, i downloaded Task 29, unzipped it and run ROMUpdateUtility.exe from its folder. After 100% phone booted again to the bootloader, I went to ROM's folder and run CustomRUU.exe from it to flash the new ROM. After "success" i disconnected the USB-cable and started the phone... no changes. I still see the bootloader. And i still cannot hard reset my phone for some reason.

How are you hard resetting your phone? All I do is power it off then hold the send and end keys and press and hold the power button until a message pops up asking if you want to hard reset. Press the vol up key to reset and after it completes press the vol up key to reboot.
Just a random thought here--is it possible your volume down button is stuck?

Any other thoughts? Without phone i am totally f*cked up, cause i am not in my hometown right now and i have to keep contact with my business partners in there.
It sounds like your bootloader is somehow broken, if it isn't a problem with the volume down key.
Try searching for information about the "mtty" utility. It's kinda complicated, but I think it's helped people in a similar situation.

Now I am encountering bigger problems with my device. I tried to use MTTY ver 1.42 first. I couldnt use it because there wasn't an option to choose USB-port. Yes, i unchecked "Connect via USB" in WMDC and killed it then in task manager. Then i flashed stock SPL ver 0.79, hm nothing new. Then I tried to flash the original SPL, i.e. ver 0.84 and it got stuck by 0%. I waited and waited and waited, so i had to remove cable and the battery. After that nothing worked. No flashing worked at all, even Task 29 gets stuck by 0% every time........ I dont know what to do now.....

Have you tried flashing a ROM using the storage card method? Might be some error being caused but your computer.
The following was taken from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540

well it seems that you have flashed back to stock spl since it is showing you spl version (0.79)
which means you will have to hardspl it again in order to flash any custom roms again but it is probably unlikely that it will not work because when you reflash stock spl you are suppose to flash stock rom & radio first before flashing stock spl i'm just guessing i'm not to sure on this 1 i could be wrong though
P.S. - just a suggestion since you have stock spl back on the phone try & flash a stock rom to see if that works

Is that maybe the problem ? Did you flash the stock SPL back onto it as you referred to earlier ? Because 0.79 is a stock SPL version, so it won't boot a custom ROM with that SPL.
So is the whole problem that you have a custom ROM and stock SPL ? I hope it's that simple, but fear it isn't.
I hope!
Hello,
if you have 0.79 hard spl,
1. you should install stock rom, not cooked. After go to bootloader mode.
2. Run Rhodium-HardSPL_V2_00R3.exe from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4363807&postcount=1
3. Install cooked rom!
It is working!
I hope it will help your problem!

Yeah guys, here's what i did and what i see. Before i flashed stock SPL 0.79 i flashed stock ROM and stock radio. Then i tried to flash stock SPL 0.84 and it didn't work for some reason. OK, then I read an advice from Doo Doo and tried to flash stock ROM again. I was wondering that it worked... but as it got 100% the device entered bootloader mode again! But after this the version of SPL was 0.88
I cannot use storage card method because i don't have any possibility to get access to the card from my PC And I just tried to hard SPL my phone from another PC (winxp) so it didn't work either, stuck by 0%.
Try to older stock rom. Maybe it will install older spl...
Sorry, but I couldn't help this problem! :S
