Disable menu sounds

Anyone have the registry entry to disable the menu sounds? It annoys me when I click on the START menu, when I press SEND/RECEIVE in Pocket Outlook, etc.
I had a ROM on here recently that had this feature and I miss it greatly.

Start - Settings - Sounds & Notifications - remove the checkbox from "Events (warnings, system events)"

Hmmm.
I thought I tried that on the stock ROM and it didn't solve my problem. But, I unchecked it and viola, that did it.

(rename from zip to cab)
btw, this isn't a reg tweak but two "empty" sound files, handsw.wav and menupop.wav. If you turn off the Events in Sounds you'll lose (to me at least) essential notifications.

Drats. They are in ROM. How can I replace them?

Simply run that cab file. It does all the work.
Your Wizard only looks for the files in ROM if they aren't found first in the appropriate path. It finds the replacements, and doesn't look further.

I did.
I got an error that said:
'Installation of No Sounds by Dr P.cab wa unsuccessful.'
I did a soft reset, recopied the CAB to the device and got the same message.

I searched the forum and found a similar file. This works for me. Just copy to your wm and install.

Comm Manager Font Changed!

After updating HTC Home. The Font of my Comm Manager changed.
Does some1 know how to bring the original back??
I also tried to instal the 10 button comm manager but the font is still the same.

Have you installed any SlovoEd dictionary? If yes... remove it because it causes problem to the fonts.

I had the same issue after starting Kaisertweak ... worked the second time after my next hard-reset

Hard reset :O

SPB Shell always changes the font on comm manager and kaisertweak on my kaiser. looked hard but could not find a solution on how to get it back. let me know if you find anything. tnx.

Hard Reset
Called the helpdesk and they didn't know as wel. So I made a hard reset. Now it works again.

Had the same problem when i installed a bible reader called e-sword. Found a solution:
In the Windows/Schriftarten (german) or Windows/fonts (should be the folder in WWE) there are normally no files in there. After installing the app there were three files in. I deleted the 3 files in the Windows/Fonts folder, closed the CommManager once (REAL close, don't forget) and started it again and voilà! Everything back to normal. No Hardrest needed

This happened to me the other day, after installing SPB Pocket Plus 4. It also managed to kill Tom Tom as well as screw with my fonts. I reinstalled TomTom though, and everything was OK again.

Same problem here.
I only see it in KaiserTweak, and SBSH Clock on the time console.

Well my /Fonts folder was empty. So I had nothing to delete. The font change was in Comm manager + KaiserTweak.

Same thing over here
I am sure it is SPB Shell / SPB Tools 4 in my case. They both have a today plug-in that screws the font in comm manager and kaisertweak.

Here's an easy fix if that happens, open up the fonts folder on your computer in the windows directory and copy the font called verdana in to the fonts folder in the windows directory on your phone, soft reset and after that you should be good again.

As I Already Said. I HAD NOTHING FROM SPB INSTALLED!

Tried copying the Veranda font as suggested ... but no go.
Same problem
Here is what KaiserTweak looks like ... see attached.
Any other suggestions would be most appreciated ... I only see this issue in a couple pieces of software. KaiserTweak, SBSH Clock ...

Same thing after installing WeatherPanel.
I experienced this after installing WeatherPanel. Went into \Program Files\Marsware\WeatherPanel\Themes\Default\
and deleted or renamed all *.ttf files. After a reboot everything went back to normal.

Damn that's very messedup. My font was cool and readable. Yours is fu up and not readable. I only think a Hard-reset would do the trick. Cause also installing other comm managers won't help you.

Also have the Comm Manager Font problem
I have the same problem. I installed a foreign language calendar, which put a font it needed into windows/font folder. Messed up Comm Mananger. The moment I removed the font, all was well.
Problem is that I need to use the foreign language calendar, which depends on the font!
Anyone know of a registry tweak to fix Comm Manager or otherwise allow the two to co-exist.
I don't think Comm Manager is using Verdana, so that doesn't seem to be the answer (although I haven't tried it yet).
Help from all the wise gurus out there would be appreciated.

That was exactly the problem. I deleted the two TTF files and soft reset.

Need TouchFlo.exe from Windows dir (ver. 2.3) Please Help!

I downloaded and installed TylerC161 compiliation of Touch-it 2.3 (clean, see this thread) with TouchFLo, but after installing successfully, I still can't get the cube to appear. I had the version 2 before and I simply assigned TouchFlo to one of the buttons. The TouchFlo application or shortcut was installed in Programs/TouchFlo folder. After installing this version, I don't see the TouchFlo in that folder (only TF Setting and TouchSetting), nor do i see it anywhere in the Button Settings. Am I missing something? I only found a shortcut file in the Windows directory. But copy/paste that didn't solve. My question is can someone with working Version 2.3 upload TouchFlo.exe file from Windows directory for me so I can copy it where it is supposed to go? Or do I need to reflash and re-install? Thanks!

you must select your method of cube activation in TFsettings i believe. Its one of those choices.

I did that, and it still didn't create TouchFLO icon or gave me an option in the Buttons! Very strange!
I even tried another Flash from Genuine RUU, and still the same thing! Please help, anyone?

Once you select an option in TFsetting, you need to reset the device.
There will not be any buttons to start touchflo, just the option that you selected, meaning either sliding your finger from the top of the screen to the bottom or center to bottom, and etc.

Re-installed Kaiser.CommManager.10Button.3GOnly.Switch.For.Other.Devices-Schen
and now there is no text under the icons, and no menu options. Any suggestions? Thanx in advance.

I had the same issue and first of all think this is a language compatibility problem (...what is your??)!however, did you installed any other CommManager too??
Try to uninstall it (also others if you did!), soft-reset, install only this one again (but be sure the CommManager.exe app is really closed!!)!!If doens't work:
1)go in the registry and check these keys (default value): [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager]
->"EmptyMenuBar -> 0"
->"TextColor -> 0"
2)go in the \Windows folder and look for the "CommManager.exe.0409.mui" file (...i'm assuming you haven't an english device/os), cut it and paste wherever you want.Soft-reset and look what happen!If still nothing change the language code (..0409.. -> it is for english, more here) in that file to your default one and overwrite the file in \Windows folder!!Maybe now you get the text, but in english! ...better than nothing!
I have this issue with the 6 button on/off CommManager (i can use it only in English), but using this, like the HTC one (more Beam and 3G buttons, but with 9 (default) and not 10 buttons) i have no language problem, try this one you too!!!

problem came back...this only happens after i reflash my device, i'm using WWE ATT rom now as compared to dutty's 6.1 wwe, and now my 10 button comm manager is doing the same thing. Heres a screen of what it's showing. (chat and icontact should only be viewable from today screen.)

...So, if you are using a WWE (english) Rom, your isn't a language problem!!
If you necessarily want this CommManager try to ask in the thread where got it (...I didn't well understand if this is the default one coming in that rom!), or try this other one (also 10 buttons, but different -> look the picture!, and try to install over it, if that is the default)!
...is that the default?? (add more info!)
If yes, first of all ask for help in the rom thread (maybe it's a rom bug, and other people have the same problem)!
If no, try what i said above!

Found Problem!
This only happened when I created a shortcut to commanager from windows folder and placed into startmenu/programs, after deleting shortcut all is well. I was trying to re-map the PTT button to work w/ commanager, the only way to I saw to do this was to copy original commanager to the folder that contained a list for re-mapping options (settings/buttons/program buttons) so I guess i'm **** out of luck on a remap to commanager, if you know anything let me know, thanks for your help.

slither's cubes

on my tytn II I have xda cube and it works fine. I cannot get any version of slithers cube to work. I have tried everything, spent hours, and am sure I followed the instructions from slither exactly

Why not ask this question in the thread it pertains to?

Ive posted 3 now 4 replies and no answers. I really would like to get the slither uno cube to work. any ideas?

ANOTHER THING SOFT RESETS ARE VERY IMPORTANT.
Try this.
1. Soft Reset your device (VERY IMPORTANT)
ahhhhh! make sure nobody calls you at the time of installation. (go to comm man and DISABLE the PHONE)
2. Unzip the contents of the zip file.
3. Copy the folder "SCLPC++ to '/Application Data/' NO WHERE ELSE!!!
3. Install FTouchFlo or FTouchSL.
4. Configure FTouchFlo or FTouchSL to open the file 'SCLPC++.exe' for the
Down-Up Guesture.
((((( Now to configure FTouchFlo ****I really don't Know if you need it for FTouchSL****you HAVE to INSTALL the Configuration Tool (FTouchFloConfig_v0.9))))))))))))
5. In this example the path is '/Application Data/SCLPC++/SCLPC++.exe'
6. After You Install the Configuration Tool do a SOFT RESET AGAIN
8. Swipe your finger from the bottom to the top of screen to start cube.
9. IFFFFF YOU HAVE NO RESPONSE DO ANOTHER SOFT RESET.
**** Note: I have read and found that most of the times people are in such a hurry that they forget to do A SOFT RESET (JUST FOR SAFETY) and end up with things not working or worst HARD RESETTING. *****

What device you have?

I aknowledge that I'M HAVING probms with FTouchFlo launching horizontal, don't have time to play BUT MANAGED TO RUN the Cube.

Colored Numbers show the change in orther.

I was able to download the final ver51 and it works without ftouchflo con but there are no paths to a lot of the icons. i really want to download the uno version

Ohhhh! you didn't have the last version.

Ok! now that you have the LATEST VERSION. Follow the the instructions to install it.
Then go to the following link where MaxMotus created a theme for the CUBE, I didn't installit yet but I'm in that process, I've installed first his Other themes for other Aplications. So far his Set ups are the best NON SLOW ones.
Also make sure to see his other posts.
Stay tune to this thread you've created, and I will walk you thru everything, as I already did it, I've been there.
For now I have to go.

Basically you just need to drop the file into a directory specified in the install instructions.
