The way to mount your Ameo in the car ?

I mailed Brodit last week about the availability of a Brodit Car Holder for the Ameo/Dopod U1000/ HTC Athena. BUd didn't get an answer yet. Keep you posted.

That'd be interesting - I used a Brodit car holder for my Universal (XDA Exec) and it was great.
The bit that fixes to the car comes separately from the bit that holds your PDA, so I'd even be able to reuse some of it.

Sorry for the Noob question but does anyone know if that Exapnsys holder will also fit the Advantage. I notice that they have these in stock but the specific advantage one is on Pre order.
I will be replacing my Hw6915 with the advantage and need a car holder as I am an heavy user of GPS.

I wish their was one that had power like the Brodit mount

I'm upgrading from mda pro to the ameo next week. I've been looking for car mounts too and I just came across this one on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/T-Mobile-Ameo...ryZ75447QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem. There doesn't seem to be much available yet.

My Ameo holder cost £3.99 and worked fantastically.
I used a JML "Grab Mat".

JML Grabmat as mount for Ameo
I can also confirm it works fantastically, both with the Ameo in or out of the leather case.
It is also much more secure than a friction mount I paid £50 for for a Garmin GPS.
£4 for an effective mount: bargain!

Get a Grab Mat, if you don't like it you've lost £4 if you do you've saved £££s. Plus less chance of some Chav breaking into your car coz they think you've got a sat nav.
I got mine from Boots.

Several reasons for the Brodit:
I use satnav - and the brodit is perfect for holding my unit (an XDA Exec at the mo) in position
I already have most of the Brodit system - just need a new front. Also, it holds the power lead in place.

Please let us know. I'm interested in one myself. I've tried the mat thing in the past but since I drive fast and make sharp turns, my device seems to roll off, not slide off. LOL

I saw someone suggest that you could use the magnetic lock of the Athena to hold it in place on a dashboard. Didn't anyone use that yet? Or will it not be strong enough?

HTC Diamond II digitizer

has anyone any ideas where to get a digitizer for the Topaz? Found one on ebay but it doesnt look like it would fit Diamond II...

For me this two digitizer have the same size, so how can this fit on diamond2?

was in talks with the seller because he had another one listed as diamond II but now he assures me this is the right one...will wait and see I suppose..
Just got my broken D2 in the post, looks great, nice design, decent size but would never trade my HD for it

if you could post pictures etc on how you get the housing off id appreciate it as id probably want to do this down the line.

Waiting for my digitizer to come in the post, will start my DIY project then

got the digitizer, turns out to be the wrong one, they still dont have any in stock for Diamond II
but managed to hook up the DII using Pocket Controller, works a treat
bluetooth mouse and keyboard can be connected to it no problem using Blueinput, all I have to do now is figure out how to control the DII from my HD

I search one too... I mailed tens of sellers on ebay and they can't provide me this...

I eventually gave up and sold it on
got an omnia hd now, will see whats that like

I puts back him on sale because I have to repair my Touch Pro :

Can you still buy the original HD2 car kit with the specialized magnetic backplate? Have been searching ebay, all over google, can't find it anywhere.

No, I mean the 1st official one released by HTC for the HD2 as reviewed HERE

yes,you can still get them on on ebay saw 2 earlier this afternoon,just search for htc hd 2 on ebay,they are nearly £70..

I would like the same information if anybody knows something...

not sure what you mean by "snap in cradle"...but for vehicle mounts, you cannot get anything better than this.

There is an adaptor in the centre console where it allows you to clip your phone in so it can charge/use the car's in built antenna....
seems exceedingly hard to find!

The only way to do it to contact your bmw dealer

I asked my dealer to keep me informed and haven't heard from him yet.. so probably not available...

You can buy it without worrying...
I always use docks no matter what phone I have and I have never had any problems...

It is safe, but not very well constructed, as the phone itself does not make contact with the plastic of the dock, so it only "wiggles" on the usb plug. I bought another one which is a lot better, and it can charge an extra battery as well: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/dual-u...th-extra-battery-slot-for-lg-optimus-2x-73031
...it uses mini-usb cables though, and the supplied power-adapter is not euro. (The supplied cable was too short to be practical for me.)

You've probably got one now, but thought I would comment as I have this one, and it's rather nice. It's a lot sturdier than it looks - I was afraid that it'd topple-over with the weight of the phone but it stays put.
My only gripe is the blue LED which illuminates my bedroom at night even when the PC is off, so I've stuck some black PVC insulation tape over it
