contacts - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

hi evryone. hope u ppl r doing fine. actually i wanted to chk, is there a way that when i click contacts, tytn ii wud show only phone contacts. i mean it shows contacts both on sim n phone n they kida get doubled u knw..... thnx

you dont have such option , only way is to copy all the contacts from sim to phone and delete the sim contacts so it will not show u twice
To do so:-
contacts - Menu - Sim manager - select all - save to contacts. (It will save all the contacts to phone)
To delete the sim contacts.
contacts - Menu - sim manager - select all - Delete. (It will delete all)

WHOA WHOA WHOA, How did noone come in here and stop this. Jesus.
FIRST OF ALL, Searching would have found what you wanted.
SECOND OF ALL, the reply was total BS and somewhat destructive.
There are about 3 ways to solve this problem and all of them let you retain the info on the SIM card.
OMG I can't believe this.
Ok
1. KaiserTweak
2. Advanced Config
3. There is a cab file somewhere that does this.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use the search option.

As ChumleyEX states please use the search before posting "there is a whole thread pn the subject" all that it does otherwise is clutter the forum and make it harder for posters in same position to search.
Have attached a .cab that does this click to hide \ click to show "does not work on all ROMs" if doesn't hide on reboot you can copy the .lnk to Windows startup.
On that note thread closed.

Show/Hide SIM contacts

HI all!
How can I hide the sim contacts? Which is the registry key to modify?
I've tried TweakUI (modified for Trinity) and all tweak works, except "Show/Hide SIM contacts".
Greetings
Using htc sim manager, you can:
A) Move all sim contacts into an outlook contact(put pictures, etc) vice versa
B) Delete all sim contacts/outlook contacts
No reason you need to have both
I've all my contacts on device, but I want to leave saved the contacts also on my SIM card. The method to hide them, there is.

Registry: HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone
Key: ShowSim (dWord)
Set it to 0
But it'll go back to 1 if you Reset the device.
I installed PocketCM, since it doesn't show SIM i don't have to hide it anymore. Looks nicer too.
There was a file posted on this board to fix that issue. I forgot who posted it but here it is.
Thank you a lot! It works

Just moved over from Symbian UIQ 3 (m600i). I have no idea what CABS are and how to install the file you attached.
I also want to rid myself of seeing duplicated names as I want to see phone contacts but also retain SIM contacts. I go diving and change mobiles and still need the names & numbers.
copy the CAB to your phone and browse to it via the File Browser.. then execute.
not work!
please
This DOES work:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Phone]
"ShowSIM"=dword:00000001 ->0 to disable, 1 to enable.

I made and posted it only to modaco.com, but it's nice to know it made it here too; considering it's the only one I know of that works after soft-reset.

@f1ip: I don't have Pocket CM, but KaiserTweak is an easy way to hide SIM contacts (and it's only 377 kB + 47 kB for the .xml file, so it's not a memory hog)
@Corrupted Sanity: I too switch phones sometimes - don't want to take the expensive PDA to some environments.
@Everybody: I find that even though I have "Hide SIM Contacts" enabled, Voice Command still looks at them when I ask to dial a contact, and says "Showing 2 Found" and then asks which one you want to dial - a - anyone else have this experience?
Would like to have Voice Command ignore SIM contacts - the "Showing 2 Found" thing is so annoying that I ended up deleting all my SIM contacts, then I have to copy them back to the SIM if I want to transfer the SIM to another phone.

Did you even bother to read the release notes comment on Modaco? Or any followup comments? KaiserSimFix is the ONLY fix that still works after restart.
I don't know how i managed to fail in installation, but it seems not to work.

Post #11 of this thread. Enjoy.

Another bit of helpplease someone. SIM contacts / Outlook contacts view.

Very simple question this one folks.
Again, if it's been asked before then i apologise but i couldn't find a thing in the manual or on here about it
This is another one that is winding me up something rotten (see also http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1783707&posted=1#post1783707)
Example... on a Nokia, you can choose the view you wish to have in your contacts list by going into options etc etc and selecting either... SIM ONLY, SIM AND PHONE MEMORY or just PHONE MEMORY.
Obviously the PHONE MEMORY on a WM5 or 6 would be OUTLOOK so... how do you display OUTLOOK ONLY, no SIM involved???
Am i making sense here?! lol

Remove SIM Contacts CAB. Ok, that's another answer i've been given!
Thanks for that one my friend

Double contacts - SIM & Outlook.

Hey all,
This is an issue that most TyTn2/Kaiser users probably face when starting up the device at first.
I have double contacts appearing on the Contact list - 1 "Outlook Contact" & 1 "SIM Contact".
I would like to use only the "Outlook contacts" - but I have no idea of how to make things tidy at this point - having about 100 double entries.
I guess i'd want the contacts on my SIM card too - to be on the safe side, but I don't want the SIM entries to appear on my contact list and make a mess with the Outlook contacts.
Another thing about contacts - is having them arranged by the Lastname. I'm used to seaching by Firstname, and changing them one by one is really frustrating!
Any suggestions?
Thank you all!
Noam.

Read my forum notes on it, and what ROM are you using? Next version, I'll package some notes, and have it auto-start.
KaiserSimFix is for ROMs that keep resetting the registry value, and will adjust the registry to hide after every soft-reset because:
IT'S a PROGRAM. I bet you guys aren't used to seeing programs that are < 5K.
So it works better than Advanced Config or KaiserTweak for these roms. For other less anal ROMs such as Dutty's, either of the former are super-fat but work too.

Service Numbers appear in Contacts list

Hi, Sorry if ther eis already info on this, i have been searching but haven't found anything.
I jsut changed to the resently released HTC WM6.1 ROM on my Orange TyTN iI. everything is working great, but for some reason i get the orange servce numbers (answerphone, text center etc) appear in my contact list.
I've tried updating the SIM manager application but doesnt seem to have fixed the issue.
Thanks,
stupid question, but alot of factory ROM's add those numbers to your contacts, Have you deleted them from your contacts? Thats all you need to do.
Those numbers can't be deleted as the delete button is greyed out and they don't exist in the sim manager program, you can just hide them using the kaiser tweak tool
Thanks, i'll try that out.
I don't really think it's a stupid question though, as said above, the "delete" option is grayed out. As i said in my original post the nubers are the service numbers stored on the SIM. I don't really appreciate such unhelpful replies.
funny must be a SIM thing cause I can delete them whey they come up on certain ROM's into my phone contacts. I had them on my SIM at one time and they are deleted.
**HAHAHAHA, no sorry i meant me, my question, i thought i was readin it wrong. i see now how it can be misunderstood. my bad**
**Did you go into the Sim Manager, Menu, Tools, and go to Service Dialing Numbers... and try deleting from there?**
I did try using the SIM mangaer but it doesn't give te option to delete the service dialing numbers. It's quite strange, but have managed to hide them with the tweak tool.
yea as i said its probably built into the sim. I guess if they are going to start pulling that shiz then i will have to make sure to keep my sim card. if i can help it i never let them swap out my sim card. usually those little bastards will do it without saying anything anymore.

Export SMS thread to PC

Hello everybody.
I am not so active on this forum, but now I am asking for a little help.
Is there any way somehow to export a single SMS thread to my PC or to a file on the Kaiser SD-card?
I need extracts from a single sms thread for proof in a case, and therefore I need to be able to email it.
Sure there is. If you hit that little Icon along the top bar thingy called "Search" (third from the left) and put in you thread title you should be able to find it.

I think he's referring to sms messages as in sms/mms text messages.
I'd be interested in a solution for this too.
Chris
hi there
http://freewareppc.com/database/pimbackup.shtml
works great for me
deselect everything except Messages - click on that, clik Options, deselect all from email section and select what You need from SMS options
click next, select location, deselect "binary backup" and select all of the "keep ..." options = this way messages are left in Your Inbox
when You get that file copy it to PC, change extension to txt - now You can open it in notepad - it has A LOT ADDITIONAL INFO for every message so if You want You can open it in excel for easier editing
open excel, go to File/Open, on the bottom of that window "Files of type" change to "All Files" - find that txt and open it, it complains that it is not recognizible, clik ok, and on next window select "Delimited", click next, select Semicolon, click Finish, start editing - be carefull if You delete whole columns - sometimes some rows are miss-synchronized... just check the whole column before deleting it.
Hope this helps...
P.S. it was nice to finally be of some use on this forum so I got keyboard-happy on this
