I recently flashed the new radio epe54b and cyanogenmod 5..0.5 and it doesnt look like i flashed it. when i go to info phone it still says im in ere36b am i doing something wrong or that is suppose to be like that
i also install the google addon too
is the new radio epe54b for att only cause i am not getting anymore 3g only edge
I read somewhere on the forums here that it's labeled that way to make it work with apps in the forum. I think I also read that the EPE54B radio is the same as the ERE36B radio.

I searched around the forums (LOVE THEM!) and couldnt find the answer so I figured it was okay to ask the question
The notification light on my G1 never turns off, it's always set to show the battery status instead of blinking with a missed call/txt/whatever
ideas?
please post your current ROM, Recovery, SPL, Radio, whether or not you use apps2sd...and anything else that we may need to know to diagnose your problem. Thanks...

This happened even on the stock rom, after I wiped everything clean and rooted... and when I flashed the newest Cyanogen
I've looked around and found no mention of this issue anywhere on any forum that I saw
T-Mobile G1
ROM: Cyanogen 4.1.999
SPL: Hard SPL
Radio: ... I havent touched this? Im not evne too sure what it is, so im assuming default/stock ota? how do I check
Recovery: RA-dream-v1.2.3

if you dont know... you should update to the 26I radio
it can be found in the bootloader (cam+power)
for the us g1, last two digits are usually 29 or 26. (26 is the latest)
you can also find this info in the about phone section in settings under baseband
if its happening on the stock rom too, its probably a hardware issue. you wouldnt happen to have any apps that would mess with this setting, would you?

yup I had the 26... what exactly is the radio?
but yea, It happens all the time when im flashing, when im in the spl... whenever
the radio manages all the wireless stuff in the phone such as the phone itself, bluetooth, wifi..etc
it also calls the spl, which loads the whole phone up
if its happening all the time, its a hardware issue and you should contact tmobile and see if they replace it. if so, unroot your phone before sending it in
im thinking this has to be some sort of software issue because it works for battery/charging/whatever... and apps can have their notification pop up over the steady green light
well then its an app. go back to complete stock and see if the problem persists. remove all your applications, and go to the stock RC29 image, update to 1.6 OTA and see if it still happens.....
does the light stay on in the recovery (Home+power) or bootloader mode (cam+power) when your phone is not charging? if it does.....its a hardware problem
Hey Everyone,
I just got a Rogers HTC Dream from Canada to use on AT&T's network here in the states. So far it seems to be working smoothly, I just had to unlock the phone and setup the APN for AT&T. My phone is the 32B version and I'm wondering which Radio I should be using.
Is there anything I should pay attention to when I decide to change the rom to something 2.x?
Yes! But it depends on which radio you've installed. If you install the 2.22.19.26I radio you can install any standard Dream ROM. However, if you keep the original 3.22.20.17 radio (or the updated 3.22.26.17 one), you will need a kernel special adapted for the 3.x radio.
Look inside any Dream ROM you download and you'll find a file called "boot.img" - this is the kernel. You can find a really good thread dedicated to the differences between the two radios and why they require separate kernels here.
It's a little more difficult to get ROMs to work with the 3.x radio, but in my experience it's worth it. I can subjectively say that my signal has been much better ever since I returned to the original radio. Be careful about switching between them, however, since I hear it's not too difficult to brick your phone that way.
I am having really poor reception so I am willing to try out the 3.x radio. Thanks for the advice.
I am looking for the md5sum for losemyroot.zip. Can anyone point me to the md5sum? I have searched alot, but I cannot find it.
The file I refer to is in the snipit below:
<snip>
So i noticed people were talking about reverting back (not sure why you'd want to )
Regardless, heres the original radio (3.22.20.17) and the original recovery (WARNING: UNROOTED) from rogers dream:

I want to revert back to the 3.22.20.17 radio since I feel that the reception is not as good with the new 3.22.26.17 radio. I use my rogers dream on Bell, so the radio version is of no concern to Bell.
When I am at my desk at work i typically lose data until a reboot when running the new radio. I didn't have this problem before I upgraded the radio when I was following the instructions on Feb 8th at:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_Rogers_Dream_EBI1_to_CyanogenMod
thanks,
David
EDIT: It's a different ballgame when it comes to Rodgers. My Bad.
Thanks for trying to help.
inb4 lrn2google, etc etc
i've found many a guide instructing me how to revert to original spl and firmware, which i've done. i've subsequently received the ota 1.6 update, which is nice. but i haven't been able to find anything detailing a downgrade of the radio baseband, except for other phones and **** (like cdma sprint hero, etc)
i'm giving my phone in for a repair (i smashed the lcd and digitizer) and i want to make sure everything is stock. i know that my baseband is 2.22.19.26I, but I can't remember whether this is the stock one for 1.6 donut - I don't think it is.
but I don't know which radio baseband stock donut uses?
thanks in advance for any help
Just found info on the dev phone here:
http://developer.htc.com/adp.html
It states that 2.22.19.26I ist default for cupcace and donut. I guess it will be the same on G1.
sweet, exactly what i was after
thank you a lot
Hello,
I'm having some difficulties figuring out which update route I have to go with so I don't brick this baby.
I'm currently on Fido, and about once/week (usually on Mondays) I loose my 3G. I have to call these guys and get them to reset my internet connection. It then comes back. I am assuming this is crap that's coming from the parent network - rogers. Of curse CSRs are not trained, and they don't know anything about the waiver, nor signing the waiver, and then when I try to sign the waiver online it doesnt recognize my IMEI.
My goal is to update to a version that will (hopefully) fix this, and if I can get new CyanogenMod while at it, then why not. I would like to get the newest stable version. Priority is to fix the 3G dropping, so If I have to go for older CyanongenMod then let it be. Having said that, please tell me what my best route is .
This phone was previously on rogers. It says "Rogers" on the back, but this is not a standard out of the box rogers phone setup. My understanding is the previous owner has rooted it.
ADP1
Radio: 2.22.19.26I
RA-dream-v1.6.2
HBOOT-1.33.2005 (DREA21000)
Also my current kernel version: 2.6.29-00479-g3c7df37 android-build @ apa26 #19
I read all the wikis and Im still confused on the kernel part.
If you have a genuine ADP1, then you MOST DEFINITELY DO NOT get 3G on robbers. I guarantee it -- totally impossible.
If you mean that you are losing your DATA connection (from 2G/EDGE), then I believe you.
I don't know where exactly you live, but if you live in OTTAWA, TORONTO, EDMONTON, CALGARY, VANCOUVER, or WHISTLER, then I STRONGLY suggest that you ditch robbers *IMMEDIATELY* and switch to Wind/Globalive.
1) $40/month (if you sign up by 24th of this month) for UNLIMITED calling to anywhere in Canada OR USA, and UNLIMITED DATA, with NO time of day or other insane restrictions,
2) A genuine ADP1 ***IS*** compatible with 3G on Wind,
3) No contracts,
4) Aren't you completely sick of those buggers yet?
5) According to an investigation by the COMPETITION BUREAU (that resulted in a multi-million dollar penalty being levied against robbers), everything that robbers has ever said about the quality of Wind's network ***IS A LIE***. Wind actually has a HIGHER quality of service than Robbers. FEWER dropped calls.
6) You ***ARE*** allowed to tether... specifically, they actually say so.
7) Last, but not least, Wind doesn't play IMEI and/or RADIO VERSION games with you.
So hopefully, you live under Wind coverage. I switched a year ago, and couldn't be happier.
You have two choices here sign the waiver and keep a 2.xx radio or flash a 3.xx radio. I would recommend the first choice if you can do it because the 2.xx radios are more stable. The 3.xx radios would lock up randomly for me. The waiver wouldn't work for me either. I had to call them (Rogers) and get a technician to enter it manually. Also, the latest 2.xx radios give you more ram and make your phone much faster.

If you really can't get that to work see this guide. It may be out of date so let me know if you have any questions.

It says "Rogers" on the back of the phone so it obviously isn't an ADP1. The custom ROM probably says that because that was the phone it was originally meant for.

beav_35 - are you a Fido or Rogers customer?
The big questions is - how do I get Rogers to do this for me? They tell me they cannot escalate to level 2 because I am not a Rogers customer.
Where as fido doesn't have a waiver online or anything, and they just tell me "Sorry, this is not a Fido phone, so we cannot guarantee compatibility, just keep calling once a week to do your network refresh"
I'm a Rogers customer.
I guess your only choice is to flash the radio that they want. See the guide I linked to before.
Just so its clear the process should go something like this:
1) from fastboot flash 3.22.26.17 radio then a "R" recovery
2) reboot into recovery and flash your ROM and kernel port

So I should flash one of the CM's? I was thinking of following this "Upgrade_Rogers_Dream_Radio" guide (I cant post a link, just google) but then it tells me that a Prerequisite is CM 4.2 and that part confuses me.
I originally wrote that guide but some people have changed it around and added that. I think it is trying to say that you can't use a ROM that doesn't have an EBI1 kernel available for it. What ROM you have doesn't make a difference for flashing the radio. You just need to have a kernel for your radio before you can use your phone (flash a kernel port ontop of your current ROM or a new ROM). Make sure you always do a wipe before flashing a new ROM.
