So what not everybody is as generous as all the people at xda.
But the software for slingbox is well worth the price
and hey just do the 30 day trial to start and see for yourself.
There is a way to keep using the 30 day trial, I forget how but there is a way to reset it after the 30 days, someone posted on here a while ago if you really can't afford the $30.
Give it a search.
Is this an official app from paypal? anyone can confirm this?
Yeah, I thought it was a phish too. works fine with me.
Just because the app works doesn't mean its not a scam. I tried searching on paypal's website about them making an android but didnt come up with anything. Does anyone have anything to prove this app is really created by paypal?
Btw paypal does have an app for the iphone so this is very plausible but I would just like to make sure before I give the wrong people access to my money.

I don't think T-Mobile would let this app slide if it was not from PayPal.
And yes PayPal has a app for the iPhone, so I would think this is PayPal's Android APP. & they never said anything about making a app for iphone either so.
T-Mo gets little say in what happens with apps. they can ask google to remove apps that breach ToS but that's it. i wouldn't trust the app until you have proof that PP made it themselvs
I just emailed paypal about this app just to make sure I'll inform you guys

Hmm I uninstalled this and changed my password.
I called paypal and talked to them the rep said they can't confirm this yet...
But once they do I will re-download this.
Yea, I downloaded this and it pulled my history in ok, but after some thinking, I too decided to uninstall and change my password. Hopefully someone will post something when they hear it so that we can know its safe.
Keep us updated!
I never thought I would say this but safety is one thing the apple app store has over the android market. I'm an iphone hater, well iphone user hater. Arrogant SOBs.
I was thinking about downloading it, then looked at the paypal site and they didn't mention it on their mobile page... plus it said the company name was "paypal mobile" and not "paypal"

I guess that is one of the aspect of a free and open market. Buyers or customer should also have some form of judgment and knowledge and not depend on the seller naively.
I rather have that, then being told what i can and can't do.

It's a legit app. However that does not change the fact that Paypal is staffed and directed by a cadre of a-holes.
Yeah it's legit, but paypal can be a bunch of *ahem* when you need to resolve a faulty transaction.
Can anyone post the apk of this, can't find it in the market anywhere. Even scanning teh barcode from cyrket.com it tells me it can't find the app.
Thanks
If you're not on 1.5, that could be the issue. The market is restricted by SDKs, so 1.1 users cannot see 1.5 only apps.
Got my phone rooted and using the latest mod from JesusFreak. Once again, appreciate it if anyone posts the apk of the app.
Where do I find WIDGET LOCKER download?
In the market, like most applications.

PayPal isn't supported in my country and neither is buying apps from play store. What am I supposed to do? I would love to pay royalties to the person that makes the apps I love but there is no possible way for me to do it. Banks here don't allow online transactions as well incase you're wondering. I depend on warez.

I've just bought an app from Play Store using a MasterCard and Google Wallet:
1. If I upgrade my firmware or uninstall the app can I download it again for free or do I have to pay it again?
2. How does Refund works?

Thank you for answering!

As the person above me replied.
You will have 15 minutes to cancel an order. To find the "Refund" button and cancel your order:
Open the Google Play Store app on your device.
Tap Menu > My Apps.
Find the app you've purchased that you'd like to cancel and tap to open the details page.
Within the 15 minutes, you will see the option to "Open" or "Refund" - tap "Refund" to cancel the order.
If you cancel your order within the first 15 minutes, your credit/debit card will not be charged. Any line items on your statement are only authorizations.

That's some app has within 24hr refund program mostly send them email. Read apps description carefully

Well, there used to be a refund period of 48 hours. But people really abused this when it came to games. That was a large reason why big companies did not want to come to android (that and piracy). Some didn't come at all and others like game loft made it so that you had to buy games from their website and then side load them.
Because of these issues, they turned the refund period down to 15 minutes. Personally, I think 30-60min would be perfect. Sometimes it takes 15 just to get a game on progress working properly.
But, at least it is better than the 0 minute policy Apple has.
Actually 15 minutes is enough. Many people are already misusing the refund feature. Buy app. Quickly make a backup of it in Titanium backup / copy the .apk installation file from cache/download/ and then ask for a refund. Its cheap, I know but many are doing it
About Google wallet, it is quite secure. I have bought with it and removed my debit card attached without any problem.
They may charge 0.01$ for no reason but they refund it back within a month or a week. I think its for verification. I tried with my debit card.
@chemical: hell yeah it's cheap! It's like stealing one candy bar from a local store... i mean, if you can't squeeze that one dollar on an app that you'll use for a long time, there's something wrong... what's better, have an app for free, or pay 1$ and get updates for as long as app is developed? :]
Support your local merchants and not so local developers!
So you have 15 mins to copy the app from /data/apps or /mnt/asec to your SD Card >

You obviously never tried to do something creative (let it be painting, app, or piece of music) and sell it. Many developers release apps on play store to make money for living (unlike you, probably living with your parents without any source of income, acceptable until you go to school) and pay bills and rent and you said "everyone should abuse play store", how would you feel if some big bad guy grabbed you in a dark alley and mugged you off from all money and other goods? Not so good, isn't it? You do same thing by abusing play store...

That would be correct. After you verify your device you will be prompted to pay $20 via PayPal. At that point you will gain access to the Mofo.exe tool to flash the rooted system image.

I think charging for root is going to start becoming more common man. The first time I paid for a service was on my M8 to get BL unlock. It's easy for those of us who use root and such to expect it to be free because it historically has been but if you think about the time, bricked devices and all the crap devs have to deal with then it is totally worth it to compensate them. Previously sharing their work free of charge was a gift to us all, not a right.

Because these huge bounty threads get made for thousands of dollars and few ever pay.
20 dollars is chump change, and if its not, then that person has no business living on welfare while sporting an expensive smartphone.
You are paying for their work, not your appreciation.
Development like this is not a non-profit charity that runs off of donations. It was a lot of hard work and without it, root wouldn't even be here. So, pay for their time and effort, or don't.
Such is the price of specialized skills. You either learn how to do it and do it yourself, or you pay someone else to. A lot like changing the oil in your car.
Totally agree that we should not expect a free root exploit. This is the first time that I have had to pay but happily paid the $20. Well worth it for software that was proven to work just for a specific device. The choice is yours to wait for someone to provide a free service, however this may not happen for a long time if ever. Would also pay (depending on cost) to have an unlocked bootloader if that ever become available.
