I have a Zoom 4506 travel router that I have been using with a Verizon USB modem.
With the lack of wireless tether, I am wondering if it is possable for me to use PDAnet with my Bionic to share the data conncetion with my PC and Galaxy Tab?
In theory I should be able to do this and my data usage would be no more detectable than tethering with a usb cable. But I have not been able to get the Zoom to pick up the data signal from the Bionic.
Any suggestions wold be helpful.
Thanks
This is the official answer I got from Zoom:
"The PDAnet is not compatible with this router. The only way is by using the phones built in hotspot or tethering feature. However, for this you must subscribe to the tethering or hotspot plan with the carrier. But using it with PDAnet it will not work. Sorry.
regards,"
I find this difficult to belive, anyone know a work around?
Zoom 4506 tethering
Zoom now has an Android tethering app for use with their 4506 and 4501 routers. I received a Beta version last week, but it works very well for me. The routers tether through a mini USB port to an Android phone. The app and router combo gives great WiFi range, support for multiple clients, good security. The router even charges my phone while it is tethered if the router is being powered by an AC outlet, but not when the router is being powered by its rechargeable battery.
I use Null23 with an unrooted Sprint Note 2 to access the internet. I have Bluetooth tethering set on the phone and Bluetooth internet access set on the Gear. I can connect to the internet OK, but only when I am connected to the internet by wifi on the phone. If I set the wifi to off on the phone, the gear will not connect to the internet. Am I missing something? Are the 3G/4G speeds too slow so that the gear doesn't think it is connected?

Your phone will only tether via mobile data if the rom allows
Pdanet cpu temperature
I tried PDANET in Null23 and Bluetooth tethering works fine with 3g/4g on my Sprint Note2. It does seem to be the only application that I've used that makes the watch hot. I throttle cpu to 800 for a lower temperature.
What if I only have 802.11N router with access point and I want to set old router off and connect G2 to my desktop PC by 802.11AC 5GHz WiFi? Will some cheap USB stick do the trick or I must only buy new Dual Band 802.11AC with access point?
If USB stick will work which one is better, Linksys WUSB 6300 AC1200, TP-LINK Archer T4U, or Netgear AC1200 A6210 or ASUS USB-AC56?
Hi,
Is it possible to use tasker to turn hotspot on with specific AP band (2.4ghz or 5.0ghz)
I'm using my hotspot on both car and computer. Need to use 5.0ghz hotspot for my computer and 2.4ghz for my car since the head unit only support 2.4ghz only.
For now I can only use tasker to turn on hotspot when connect to my car bluetooth but it will automatically use previous AP band that i used with my computer before which is 5.0ghz. So need to change the AP band manually each time enter my car.
Any suggestion? Thanks in advance.
